Sept 25 - Finished off the tomato sauce (2 cans of crushed tomatoes fixed the consistency, and then we added some additional seasonings). Then took many hours to can it, as unfortunately the gas stove he has is kind of crappy and is very slooowwww for things like bringing a canning pot full of (hot tap) water to the boil for processing. And before THAT we had to bring the jars, rings, and lids to a boil in a different pot to sterilize them before filling them. Argh.

Nephew made a grilled chicken with pesto orzo dish for supper.

Sept 26 - Got nephew's laptop set up to work with my scanner, there's no way we're getting all the scanning done before I head back north next week, so I'm going to leave it here for now. He's invited me to come back down again in late December for a combination of helping him with some more sorting through of things, plus getting to spend Christmas with our side of the family down here.

For supper I pan-grilled a pork tenderloin (after rubbing it with salt, pepper, and ground allspice) and cooked some small new potatoes and green beans then mixed them together with butter and fresh rosemary.

Sept 27 - went through most of the drawers of an old wooden desk that the BIL and his father before him had both used. Lots of evidence of the grandfather's career as an engineer (multiple slide rules) and aging (many difference magnifying devices), not to mention a few decades worth of old bank books tossed in a drawer, dozens of old stamps (both used and unused), coins of varying denominations and ages, unused blank cards and notepaper etc. One drawer is entirely ancient files of the grandfather's that we'll need to do a folder-by-folder pass through to sort out potential keepsakes from recyclables.

Also did more scanning of photos. Most of today's were of a trip to the 1986 Vancouver Expo, plus of BIL hanging out with friends or co-workers. Slightly weird to see him playing with a little blond girl in that phase between toddler and child, and realize from the 80s hair and clothes everyone is sporting that she's probably in her 40s now.

Only one photo had anything written on the back to identify the people in it, and it's just first names.

Nephew made toad-in-the-hole and mixed steamed veg for supper.

[ Nikke spoilers for mid September 2024 update mini story / my comments on it. ]

Closeted trans dudes dressing up at the family function like:

It's such a familiar scene, for family to see you dressing up out of obligation and then being like, 'Oh, NOW you're so beautiful, you should do this more often.' And internally, your body is screaming that it feels so wrong, why did you perform your perceived gender for this event! Or like, for me personally too, the whole missing the vibe of the event and dressing up way more than anyone else, and then feeling so out of place. I've joked before about Red Hood having older brother vibes, maybe she has trans vibes for me too now, lol.

Also, strange that Liliweiss is saying 'for the future' to Red Hood. Who, y'know, is basically terminally ill (corrupted). Red Hood doesn't 'have' a future, she just has the present and past. At this point in this mini-story thing (I'm assuming it takes place around the time of the Red Ash event), is Liliweiss aware of the plans to integrate Red Hood into Rapi, and therefore 'have' a future? Or am I just reading into this way too much? Lol. Just sounded like a really weird and inconsiderate thing to say to her.

That aside, why the fuck did y'all vote the dress over the other two Red Hood skins?! I'm so disappointed, the other two were way cooler and not out of character:

The match would help cement support from House Velaryon when Rhaenrya took the throne, and by extension Jace, as it ties the two families even closer together. The Beta Targaryen was beautiful and every inch what the people expected from the blood of Old Valyria. 

Jace was prepared to do his duty and sire as many children as needed to secure his family's reign. To correct the mistake of his presentation even though the thought filled him with a sense of despair and wrongness. To ignore his body's desire for an Alpha, the feeling of being incomplete without one. He didn't need to be complete, he needed to do as duty demanded of him.

Then his grandsire died and civil war broke out as his uncle Aegon decided to usurp the throne from under his mother. Jace was tasked with gathering allies and he jumped at the opportunity to prove himself.

Jace was not prepared for Lord Cregan Stark and what the Alpha made him feel upon his arrival. The immediate attraction, the feelings of longing and desire which stirred in his gut. 

It took 3 days for Jace to end up face down amongst the furs on Lord Stark's bed. Duty forgotten as Cregan's cock was buried inside him, locking Jace on his knot and pumping the Prince full of his seed. 

Their bond snapped into place and for the first time in his life Jace felt right.

Week 39.2/52: September 25th - October 1st 2023 | Spending Birthday at Work 🎂

I haven't worked on my birthday since 2019 :O ???!!! Didn't have high expectations of this day considering I decided to work last minute instead of booking it off like I always do. However I feel like everything aligned so well and literally everything went well today! Overall was in a very positive mood the entire day which is so rare for me. Firstly I got assigned a pretty nice school with a decently nice team. Somehow by the power of universe I bumped into one of my friends from HS at the school I was working at LMAO legit didn't see him for almost ten years wtf. And then when I went back to studio to do reports, coworkers had a surprise for me of snacks laid out & matches on cupcakes HAHAHAHA. A really nice day filled with birthday wishes from a lot of people both irl and through texts, I just feel like I matter for once like 我一点都不缺爱 真的是很感激呀 ❤️ Happy birthday to me; today was very happy! I WISH EVERYDAY OF THIS YEAR I CAN ALWAYS BE THIS HAPPY BWAHAHHAAHA.

So woke up this morning, visited several chilled Larry blogs and they were not chilled at all, gave me a bit of a headache in morning, then heard the whole interview myself, and it was the best fucking interview he ever gave, then I thought let me visit my legend larries, clicked on Gina's blog and got a heart attack when it said you need to log in, nothing there, then came here (ultra legend) and man you are a mood, the bestest, totally matching my thoughts on this interview.
