Hakuoki Drama CD - Shimabara Disturbance Track 2 English translation

Heya, I know this is late... but my eye problems continued until the symptoms got better last Tuesday, on April 2nd. Long story short, I had difficulties keeping my eyes physically open without them feeling irritated or hurting after 6pm, which really cut away my time to translate for the past two weeks as I normally translate in the evenings, which didn’t help when I was actively cutting back on my screen time while that happened. Overall, my symptoms seemed to have cleared up for the most part since I started using Hypochlorous acid as recommended by my optometrist and I have thankfully stopped needing to walk around with a damp towel everywhere for relief. 

Anyway, I decided to post these as soon as I finish them to make up for the post-less March... I’m about a quarter way through track 3 (it and track 4 are over 10min), but I already have 5 and 6 done so it hopefully won’t take too long? I’m really sorry bout that!

Also, for various reasons, I've decided not to tag the characters for the rest of this drama for the time being. I'll tag them a week after I post the last track... if I remember to.

But, how do I say this? Isn't it strange to suddenly ask “do you want a a woman’s kimono?” Or should I indirectly ask about what can be done to make her feel happy? No, but not only that there’s....

Saito: Ah! Yu-Yukimura! No, I wasn't doing anything. Anyway, can I have some of your time? There's something I wanted to tell you...

Saito: Nn, then, excuse me.

(door closes)

Saito: Yukimura, um, ermhm... What I'm going to say isn't important, no, not only is it a trivial matter that doesn't matter at all... Um.... 

(footsteps from outside)

Harada: Hey, Chizuru, you there?

(Door opens)

Harada: Fu... Sorry, looks like you already have a guest?

Would it be possible to borrow a room at Shimabara? If she goes there, she’ll be able to act as a woman as she wishes to

“The imaginary world of Hayao Miyazaki in Aubusson tapestries” project has unveiled a new tapestry today. It’s the banquet scene from Spirited away where Chihiro confronts No-face, and it’s GLORIOUS.

Pictures are from Catsuka and Cité internationale de la tapisserie’s insta. You can also see it here in video (all in French sorry!), 40min has the “tombée de métier” (when weavers cut the warp threads once a tapestry is finished) and 1h08min is when they unveil it.

Aubusson manufacture project is to make 5 full size tapestries from Ghibli’s works using traditional weaving techniques.

They have already worked on Princess Mononoke, finished last year:

But the scenes I anticipate the most are coming, as they are now starting to work on Howl’s Moving Castle - especially Howl’s wizard bedroom :D

They are atm working on the cartons (weaving guide/blueprints):

Spirited Away tapestry will stay exposed in Aubusson for the moment, while Mononoke one will be shown at Opéra de Bordeaux in March, and in Musée du Quai Branly in Paris this summer ;)

Now, I'm still waiting for some stuff to air, so this isn't a complete list. Also, the last title isn't exactly one that I'm super enjoying because it's butchering the original, but I'm sticking with it because I like the franchise. I recommend the manga instead of the anime.

Animanga that exceeded all my expectations

The only one I can think of is Suzumiya Haruhi. It didn't exceed all my expectations because they were high from the start, but goddamn. I despise the fact that I came into the show knowing only the memes and opening clip, thinking it was gonna be absolute weeb garbage (because back in the old days it was much easier to not run into spoilers and I'm not even sure if the novel was already being fantranslated at the time), only to find out that it actually fucking slaps. Can you imagine how pissed I was. That I couldn't hate this bullshit of a show. Also endless eight. That shit was traumatizing even though I caught on quick and skipped most of it.

Top 3 Unpopular animanga I really love

I won't say unpopular but these are definitely underrated.

Tsurune (I mean the novel; the anime doesn't deserve much recognition beyond the good animation and sound design, imo)

Nurarihyon no Mago (I know it's been over for more than a decade and the fandom is long dead, but it was temporarily revived by the recent new chapters, and it was criminally underrated in the west back when it was still being published)

Gangsta (used to be really popular when it was on-going, but the fandom lost its hype completely both in the west and in Japan after it entered hiatus because of the author's health)

So apparently from the Hakuouki official book I have (from the original game not the reboot KW/EB) Sen's oni form has three corns because she is a female. And Chizuru has only two horns because her statue is under Sen's one.

I'm not sure of the translation but it seems even if Sen has a human in her lineage, she is a little bit more "pure blood" than Chizuru just because her family exists since Japanese Antiquity.

Edit : Also male oni have four horns if they're pure blood. But I need to do more researchs.

I like the one where they meet during travels and she informs him that they're looking to relocate and he temporarily houses them not knowing that they'll never leave 😆. Him and Sen gets close and maybe you could still add Sen fainting and Kazama finding her and that's when they realize that she's pregnant and why she's having the dreams or something like it.

Okay, here's some ideas I have...@lilc77

The Princess is sick, he found her alone in the middle of dirt path. The moment she gets better slightly, her fever returns and she is bedbound again.

Cannot remember what happened to her and how she ended up unconscious and alone.

So based on that dream I could do something like umm maybe she can barely walk so he carries her a bit and travel the road to find the closest doctor who might help so there could be a scene with him holding her in his arms near the fire....maybe because the weather is slightly chilly. But he could learn that she was cursed by something unknown because of the fact she was destined for something never seen before. A daughter who is a Nephalem who would be the wife of the king "Sebastian." A great union and combined powers they are afraid of, so they want to kill her before this happens.

To explain why Chizuru was not hunted down for the fact that she is the mother of the king is because as I mentioned in Hijichi story. Sebastian's Prophecy is unclear and they aren't sure when or how or who?

Or maybe I ditch this plotline entirely and start over with something else.

Maybe he was returning home in the road and then by chance he stumbles upon her traveling as well.

He learns from her that the Village of Yase isn't doing too well and they are in the process of moving to another place and build all over again. So he offers her to come with him to his village, stay there for a few days until things work well. She can bring her people with her. It might be possible to make some space for them to live temporarily in the Kazama village.

So she agrees and goes with him, but Sen has been tormented by a dream she couldn't understand, (Haven't yet thought about what the dream could be, but it supposed to foreshadow her future with Kazama and their daughter who will held some of the angel powers.) Maybe I could try to write interactions between the two near the pond where in the future Kondo would meet Sara.

What do you think the conversation starters could be about?

She could see very clearly her question made him tense. His body stiffened slightly before he avoided her eyes. “ There comes a time, when you realize your actions are wrong.” He whispered. “ You have no choice but to accept it and learn to move on.”

....

Then someday Sen sees a box left in her room, thinking maybe it was one of her people who brought some of her luggage there but the moment she opens it, it turns out to be poison and she falls ill.

So this could lead to the dream with him holding her next to the fire while he hears the words of someone saying. "That woman is cursed."

And so use the lore I said in that other plot, the destiny for her to birth a girl who would be a Nephalem and the wife of the king....et-cetera.
