Boom Boom tries to blow up The *Beyonder*

She's 13 years old at this point (Secret Wars II) and she's trying to soften him up so the assembled heroes of the world can knock him over. She feels kinda bad about it because they're friends but he terrifies her by fighting celestials and trying to blow up the universe. Tabitha Smith is a bad bitch. I love her.

I feel like people shit on Secret Wars II but I really like it. It's a lot more deconstructive than it's given credit for, while being existentially horrifying. A child God gets bored of smashing action figures together so he decides to check out what being human is like. He eats glass and Spider-Man teaches him how to shit. He gets chewed up by capitalism and punched by superheroes (who know they can't beat him and should be trying to talk to him) until ennui sets in. The Beyonder continues a proud Marvel tradition of being turned into a baby and trying to destroy the universe.

Relatable tbh, though I have not forgiven him for giving the New Mutants eldritch PTSD.

A subplot through Secret Wars 2 is Puma being given the impossible task of killing the Beyonder. I found it to be super interesting and given the interest by writers like Hickman and Ewing in using the Beyonder in new ways I'd love to see this revisited. Imagine a comic where Thomas Fireheart explores the cosmic side of the Marvel universe to accomplish the impossible.

MCU | Secret Wars 2 Explained :: Not as exciting as the first one, heavy focus on one guy with existential crisis. Good for the overall universe storyline but pretty "meh" in my books.

I'm not covering Secret Wars 2 because A) I was super busy and plowed through another 10 issues of X-men without having the time to write about them and I'd like to not waste any more time getting to them, and B) it sucks. Expect actual content soon.

Alice is so bad at handling the Black LIs. First, Loy barely got any screen time, only to die in the first episode of the second book.

War is the only LI you could kill off early on, and even if you don't, his scenes are way too short compared to the others.
