There used to be this mini food court called Teng Sheng Food Gallery (腾胜) on the second floor of Sembawang Shopping Centre. Brought mum there a few times previously for dinner. Got the S$6.80 bowl of Salmon Don (三文鱼饭) with soup for her. A slice of pan-fried salmon with egg covered rice drizzled with teriyaki sauce.

My S$8 plate of Mexicano Chicken Chop (墨西哥鸡扒) came with a pan-fried deboned chicken drumstick drizzled with cheese sauce and French fries. The side dishes were pathetic though with just the tiniest scoop of mashed potato, a tablespoon of corn kernels and lettuce. However, the chicken was decent tasting with the ample cheesy sauce.

"So Just One Did All This?!" Shrimp Fried Rice

(Clip Studio Paint, Gouache Brush. 12 Colors, around an hour? Maybe longer, I took a break for my wrist and then went down the youtube rabbit hole and forgot to time it.) Title obligatorily references the "You're telling me a shrimp fried this rice?" joke that everyone makes.

Mom's been really into scrambled eggs for breakfast, and occasionally, if we have leftover rice, I'll whip up some fried rice with them. But on the very rare occasion we have leftover shrimp, I'll add some shrimp and make shrimp fried rice.

Didn't have any frozen pea/carrot mix to pop in, but I made this a week ago and have been waiting for the energy to draw it ever since, and since the Omurice I drew turned out well, I decided to take a crack at it.

Not much to say about this one other than shrimp fried rice is tasty as fuck. Especially if you make it with lard or bacon grease or just straight up put bacon in with the shrimp.

Hopefully @lady-quen's breadbugs don't get lost in all that rice!

As you can see, I started drawing on the wrong layer. "Hmm, wonder why the rice texture is so rough no matter the pressure? Am I using the wrong brush?" And nah, it's just the wrong layer so it doesn't interact with the background color properly. Sometimes I'm just a goober.

Tagged along with mum and sis to the market to help with the grocery shopping. Chong Pang Food Centre is right next to the wet market so that is where we would be buying back our brunch. While mum went off to buy her own meal, my sis and I decided on some Korean toasts from this Eggciting stall selling thick toast sandwiches.

Picked one Egg Toast and one Tuna Toast at S$4.80 each and a Bacon Toast (S$5.90). While the sandwiches themselves weren’t half bad, portion is small and food presentation needs improvement. As much as I would love to see more varieties in our hawker centres, selling a five bucks’ sandwich at a place when the same price would net you a bowl of fish ball noodles and a beverage is a big no no. The last I heard; the stall closed a few months later.
