Mini-review:

Look, I'm not gonna lie, I thought this would be wilder and funnier. I just feel like the movie doesn't know if it wants to be a raunchy comedy or a feel-good, heartfelt one, and it struggles when it comes to handling both tones. It's certainly not a bad film, but I kept thinking it could be much better. Tbh, Jennifer Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman are the main reason why it's watchable. They pull off both the comedic stuff and the dramatic content, and they do it with ease. Anyway, I think a movie with such a salacious plot should be less forgettable.

Dude. I may have just watched all of Killing It in one day. It's amazing. I probably should've watched it slower to digest and be more articulate now. I'm really excited for season 2, I think it was ads for season 2 that got me watching it. I love the main trio so much, they're all such compelling characters and I love the friendship so much. It kind of reminds me of Rabbit, yes because of the odd job shit, but also in tone I think, how it weaves comedy and violence and emotion. That ending.

On the brink of losing her home, Maddie finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college.

Still has a number of scenes that feel just dumb (her inline skating, the macing and water hosing, etc.) but overall it's not as dumb as the trailer makes it look like.

In the end it's much more good-natured and chaste than one would expect from a raunchy R rated comedy.
