I like Madoka Magica because you can take any of the main characters and ship them with each other, and there’s always at least something in cannon that supports it
And even still, no matter who you ship it’s DOOMED
These girls all love each other so much and I think that’s beautiful <3

Sword gays showdown, round 2 of bracket one
Propaganda:
For Zoro:
Literally training to be the greatest swordsman in the world. Has a special three swords technique (one blade in each hand plus one with the handle held in his teeth). I haven't read the manga or watched the anime but the live action adaptation gives me extremely gay vibes and based on the fandom things I've seen I'm not the only one
bro uses three swords. has one in his mouth. dont ask how the HELL he manages that. one day he will be the worlds greatest swordsman....after he beats the current greatest for both the titles of greatest swordsman and fruitiest swordsman. he's dramatic as FUUUCK like bro what the hell. has homoerotic fights with the local twink like everyday. directionally challenged, can and will get lost in a paper bag, doesnt know left from right...he probably cant read, too. hes too silly ngl
First of all, im in like episode 250 and so far he hasnt been shown attracted to any woman at all during the whole show so far, not even when one changed clothes in the same room as him and this is anime so you know there were other characters with bloody noses and shit. With that out of the way he wields three swords at once [two in his hands, one is his goddamn mouth dude. Its cool af trust me.] When he was little he made a promise to his best friend that he'd be the best swordsman in the world. Later she died in a tragic accident and left her sword which he still uses today. He also carries a cursed sword but he overpowers the curse with a combination of skill and sheer luck. He got stuck in a chimney. While his crewmates sail their ship he takes naps. He learned how to cut through metal by fighting a guy who could turn his body into metal blades. That's metal. He refuses to fight this liberal marine officer because she looks like his childhood best friend and its just understandably really awkward for him. He's autistic. He's a he/him bisexual lesbian. He's a gay man. He's ace/aro. He's whatever you want him to be babey!!
he has 3 swords, wields one in his mouth sometimes, his dream is to be the greatest swordsman in the world
three swords and big aroace-spec gay vibes
He not only has a sword he has *three* swords. He's absolutely gay there's no way to see this man as straight. Also one time he licked his sword for no reason and that was really funny to me so I had to mention it
Look, this man thinks about three things: Swords, His Captain, and Booze. He’s on a quest to be the worlds greatest swordsman. The Live action has a scene where he declares his undying, unwavering loyalty to his captain WHILE reaffirming his promise to be the worlds greatest swordsman. At this point His dream and his Captain are so intertwined it’s crazy. Man is so sword-y he’s got three of them. When one of his swords broke he carried its empty scabbard until he was able to give it a SWORD FUNERAL. He hears a sword is cursed and takes that as a challenge. He will literally tell his swords off for “bad behavior” when they “act up” due to being straight up cursed. He tests one by throwing it in the air and sticking his arm out to see if it is so blood thirsty and ill tempered that it will cut him. Even though he’s literally the first mate if you ask him what his role is he’s going to answer Swordsman.
He's dedicated his life to two things: becoming the greatest swordsman in the world and his captain, Luffy.
He mastered the three sword style. Its his style. It would've been more swords but he could only fit one sword in each hand and one in his mouth. He wants to be the world's greatest swordsman, a deal he made with his childhood best frenemy (before she died falling down the stairs). He thought he was All That at the start and was almost completely decimated by the actual Worlds Greatest Swordsman. Now, after two years forced training with that guy, he's probably in the top tier no-doubt, and honestly could already be the best but we just don't know for sure yet. Also, did I mention: he's got the whole demon/devil imagery going on at times. And he has absolutely no sense of direction! plus is a total softie when it comes to Chopper and all the children who somehow gravitate towards him. And he loves naps!
One of the guy's main goals in life is to be the best sword fighter and he fights with three swords which I think is telling enough of his skill.
For Sayaka Miki:
my favourite scene is the one where Sayaka turns off all her pain receptors to battle the shadow witch, uncaring of the damage dealt to her body, because what is a body but a decaying vessel you must eventually abandon anyway? that was very depression of her <3 Also there’s that one time (in the rebellion movie) where Sayaka stabs herself on her own sword to release the witch that dwells within her. and then she immediately gets up to fight back to back with her girlfriend. that moment lives rent free in my head. Sayaka is so depression and I love her for it:)
SHES SO GAY ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY SHE FLIRTS W THE MAIN CHARACTER HER NARRATIVE FOIL IS ANOTHER GIRL W TBE OPPOSITE COLOR SCHEME THEYRE RED BLUE LESBIAN MOMENT YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT ELSE ??? SHE COMES TO THIS FALSE REALITY LITERALLY JUST TO SEE HER GIRLFRIEND ALIVE THEY LIVE TOGETHER AND THERES A WHOLE OUTRO SEQUENCE JUST W THE TWO OF THEM SHE STUDIED THE GAY BLADE I STG also she uses a sword 🗡️ love u sayaka

I rewatched the scene where the girls find out the truth about the soul gems and Madoka's reaction really fucks me up. She honestly believed that throwing Sayaka's soul gem away would be a good idea, that she was doing that for the well-being of her friend but then, she just... shuts down. She isn't speaking, she isn't breathing anymore.
She's dead.
Madoka is not, cannot understand what is going on anymore. In one minute, Sayaka is well, about to engage in a fight with Kyoko. In the other, she's... Dead? And there's Kyubey's speech, spelling out bullshit like always and Sayaka. Oh Sayaka, she is dead.
And then her soul gem gets retrieved by Homura and she wakes up. She is alive.
Imagine the wave of relief Madoka must have felt. Her best friend, her childhood friend, someone she grew up with, shared half of her life with died because she wanted to prevent her from fighting and continuing to hurt herself furthermore. She's fine and alive.
Only to a few days later, see her dead once again. Her body is laying on the ground. She is not speaking, she is not breathing. Madoka sees Sayaka's lifeless eyes again. But this time, it's for forever. Sayaka is dead. That thing, that witch, is not Sayaka.
Sayaka is dead. Madoka saw her childhood friend die two times in such a short time and never had the chance to process it properly.

Merry Christmas Sayaka-chan
A Madosaya Christmas story.
It was roughly eleven at night on Christmas Eve. A lone girl with blue hair was walking down the streets of Mitakihara. Earlier today, the girl, named Sayaka, was invited to a Christmas party at her best friend's house. However, at the last minute, she decided not to go. Why?
She was depressed.
Depressed because her crush was going out with one of her friends. Kyosuke was now dating Hitomi, and she missed her chance. A while back, she was told by Hitomi that she has feelings for Kyosuke, but wants to give Sayaka a chance to ask him out first. However, because of her being a magical girl (and the consequences it let), she was unable to fulfill that chance.
She had blown it.
So now, she was all alone. When she was invited to a party by her friend, Madoka, she was nervous. Nervous because she was going to face them. So she chose not to go and here she is now, wandering around in Mitakihara. She thought about her other friends: Mami, Kyoko, and Homura. They would question her about her problems, but she'll keep everything to herself. And Madoka...
What about her best friend Madoka?
A brief but painful sting occurred in her chest. She realize that she just abandoned her childhood friend by turning down the party invite. She now feels even more sad, because she might had hurt her best friend's feelings. If there's one thing she would never do, it would be hurting poor Madoka Kaname. She could never face her again. She's a horrible friend. She's might as well just run away for-
"Sayaka-chan!"
Sayaka turn herself around and sees a familiar pink hair girl. Obviously, she freaked out.
"Madoka? What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you, silly," Madoka puffed slightly.
Sayaka didn't know what to do in this situation. But her thoughts were wiped as soon as she saw what Madoka was wearing. She was wearing a nice pink coat with bunny mittens, and she has rosy cheeks for it's very cold outside.
She looks super cute! Sayaka thought to herself.
"Why weren't you at the party, Sayaka-chan?" Madoka asked.
Sayaka came back to reality. "Oh um... I... didn't want to go," she finally admitted.
"Why not?"
"Because... too many people, that's all," Which was half true.
"Then come on," Madoka said while pulling Sayaka's arm.
"Wh-what?"
"We're going back to my house to finish the party."
Sayaka was now lost and afraid. Did she not hear what I said?
They arrived at the Kaname residence. When they went in, no one was around. They probably went home while the rest of the family are sleeping. This was good for Sayaka because she won't had to deal with a certain couple.
"Have a seat, Sayaka-chan," Madoka said pointing at the couch.
"Um... okay," Sayaka said.
"Would you like some hot cocoa?" Madoka asked.
"Sure, thanks."
Sayaka sat on the couch while Madoka went to the kitchen. This gives Sayaka some time for herself.
The most important question was, why was she here? At first, she was afraid that she might face Kyosuke and Hitomi. But then, the way she thought about it, maybe she got her feelings all wrong. Here she thought that she had feelings for Kyosuke, but as it turns out, she only cares for his music. So she skipped Madoka's party for feelings that weren't even there.
Speaking of Madoka, all she ever thinks about was her best friend since she got here. Madoka is very sweet and nice, and she always backs her up in anything. Suddenly, Sayaka began to get a pretty warm feeling inside her chest. Could it be that she finally realize her real feelings?
"Here you go," her thoughts were interrupted by Madoka as she handed Sayaka a mug of hot cocoa.
"Oh, thank you," she thanked her.
They sat on the coach, drinking their mugs, in total silence. After awhile, Madoka finally spoke.
"I know how you feel, Sayaka-chan."
"Huh?"
"Your situation with Hitomi-chan and Kamijou-kun," this caused Sayaka to stop her drinking and stare at Madoka with worried eyes.
"Wha... what do you know?"
"That Hitomi-chan is dating Kamijou-kun and that you're depressed. When I learned that you didn't came to my party, that's where I knew that your feelings were hurt. And for that, I'm sorry," Madoka finished.
Sayaka was now stunned that Madoka had figured it all out. And now here she is, letting Madoka to take the blame. She then placed the mug on the small table and hugged Madoka.
"Don't do this, don't take the blame. Don't hurt yourself just to make me feel better. Just... please don't," she hugged Madoka so tightly that tears were now flowing out of her eyes.
Madoka then hugged her back. "What... are your feelings saying now?"
Sayaka spoke while continuing hugging Madoka. "I believe... that I don't really think I have feelings for Kyosuke."
"Really?"
"Yes. At first, I thought I did. But now, as it turns out, I was only interested in his playing. I just wanted to hear his music over and over again. And yet, I don't feel the same thing as Hitomi. So in the end, I got depressed... for nothing."
Madoka began to smiled. "I'm glad."
Then Madoka shifted herself to get Sayaka's attention. "Oh, look what's under the tree?" She then got up and approached the Christmas tree, kneel down, and grabbed something underneath it. "Oh look, it's a lone present. And it's... for you, Sayaka-chan."
"???" Sayaka has no idea what's gotten into Madoka, but wants to know where this is going.
Madoka then gave Sayaka the present and, sure enough, it was for her. She then unwrapped the gift, and it was a flat box. She then open the box and gasped of what she saw. It was a necklace of a blue stone.
"It's sapphire, your birthstone," Madoka commented.
Sayaka was flabbergasted that Madoka would give her something that looks so expensive. "Madoka... I... I don't know what to say... but..."
"Here, let me," Madoka then took the necklace and warped around Sayaka's neck. Surprisingly, she did it without looking.
"How... do I look?" Sayaka asked while touching the stone.
"Beautiful," Madoka complimented.
Then Madoka unexpectedly pulled Sayaka's hair  and placed it behind her ear, an action that felt out of character for Madoka.
"Madoka?" Sayaka was, once again, stunned.
"Can I tell you a secret?" whispered Madoka.
"Uh... sure."
Madoka got closer to Sayaka's face and whispered slowly. "I think... I'm in love with you."
Sayaka's heart was exploding upon hearing her friend's confession. Someone, who she cares so deeply about, has said they are "in love" with her. Then, on instinct, she placed her lips onto Madoka's lips and gave a long, tender kiss. This action felt right for both girls. Once the kiss was over, Sayaka whispered to Madoka slowly.
"I'm in love with you too."
Madoka was so happy that she formed the biggest smile on her face. She then grabbed hold of Sayaka and both of them began hugging and kissing. This may actually be the happiest moment of their lives.
Then Madoka got up from the couch and left the room, leaving Sayaka hanging and confused. She reappeared from the hall, holding a large blanket, and wrapped around Sayaka and herself. They both lay on the couch and began cuddling each other. The clock struck midnight, it is now Christmas night.
"Goodnight, Sayaka-chan," Madoka pecked Sayaka on the lips and closed her eyes.
"Goodnight, Madoka-chan," Sayaka holded Madoka and began closing her eyes, but she finished the rest of the sentence in her mind. And thank you for saving my life. I love you.
Across the small table, darkness and clouds began fading away slightly inside of Sayaka's soul gem. Both girls has found true love, and it happen on one Christmas night.
The End

Note
what are your thoughts on Madoka and Sayaka's relationship? I always thought it was underrated for how complex and tragic it is.
Madoka and Sayaka's relationship function similarly to that of a knight and a princess, so both their friendship or couple pairing are interesting to me. It seems to be intentional that Sayaka was crafted with a knight motif in mind to click with Madoka's vulnerability. The tragedy is that Sayaka was way too young and inexperienced to be shouldering such expectations in a friendship. Taking up the role of a protector at every turn because she wanted to protect everyone has always been a contributing factor to how fast Sayaka burned out.
Contrarily, Madoka's struggle with her own helplessness throughout the show was also part of the reason why Sayaka said a lot of terrible thing to her, but deeply regretted her actions to the point where she succumbed to Witching out away from Madoka. Madoka, at least in this "final" timeline, was not there to see her own childhood best friend change into something else. To, in a way, "die", and be reborn as the same monster that all magical girls were hunting after in a frenzy. Homura was right that Sayaka brings Madoka grief — it seems that in almost timeline, since Sayaka becomes a Witch as long as she becomes a magical girl unlike Mami or Kyoko, Sayaka is a consistent source of Madoka's grief. Whenever Madoka becomes a magical girl, then, her aspirations are based on Sayaka's sacrifice and ideals, except Madoka actually has the power to "save everyone". I believe Madoka loved Sayaka as Sayaka may not have been an "effective" magical girl, but she was the one who was willing to sacrifice her soul for her ideals, regardless of how naïve they were. To Madoka, who was so ensnared by her sense of uselessness, Sayaka was the closest thing to an idol or a star for the courage required to be a magical girl. Sayaka's desire to make the world a safer and justified place for people was so inspiring to Madoka that even when Madoka becomes Kriemhild Gretchen, the Witch's whole gimmick is "creating heaven on earth, a Witch content only if there is no more grief in existence". A prospect deeply held onto by Madoka that even Gretchen embodies it.
It's probably why Madoka's wish to save all magical girls would definitely sound equally impossible to he audience and the incubators, but Madoka herself says, "If someone says it's wrong to hope, I will tell them that they're wrong every time." Sayaka was often called foolish for her ideals and hopes, and Madoka was the only other person aside from Kyoko who understands Sayaka's struggles so much that she outright tells people that Sayaka was never wrong — this is how Madoka protects Sayaka. Madoka would never want anyone to say any of the magical girls' wishes were wrong or foolish. It was how Sayaka also found her peace at the end of the show: to be understood and not viewed as an object that would eventually be replaced in the cycle of magical girls and Witches.
Madoka and Sayaka eventually learned how to protect each other. Sayaka doesn't need to suffer from her own overbearing expectations anymore, and Madoka can finally be something even more to protect her angel: A God.

Of all the interpretations of Madoka's sacrifice, i find myself disagreeing with the idea that her godhood became a permanent solution/ a good ending/ an end to suffering. While magical girls no longer need to become beasts who spread misery, they are still children who are manipulated into exchanging their souls and be forced to leave the world early after being pushed to their exact breaking point. I feel that the interpretation of madokas sacrifice as a fix to the suffering of magical girls is flawed and that we see a lot of it involving sayaka. Not only her regret of leaving kyouko, and her crying when she could see her friends again at the end of Rebellion, but also Hitomi's storyline where she goes looking for her missing friend Sayaka, and as others on this site have mentioned, blames herself for Sayakas disappearance/death.
Not to mention, while the characters see this sacrifice as necessary, i also wonder how the existence of wraiths fits into this paradigm.
Granted, i see how this could be a metaphor for simply moving on in life and out of childhood, and that Homuras refusal to move on with Madoka is her struggling with letting Madoka change. But I do think that simply framing Madokas sacrifice as a solution to the suffering of magical girls is a flawed and an unnecessary binary of 'madoka is right and homura is wrong'.
Of course, the fourth movie has yet to come out, so i think we will all be disagreeing until we see the story's resolution. I personally just hope that it doesn't end with 'the demure girl next door who feels she isn't special and has no skills finds purpose in making the ultimate sacrifice of herself was narratively correct to do so'.

Hitomi in Mira Magica
Hitomi! Well, at least what she looks like in Mira Magica she has grown up she has grown and now is an adult and works as a therapist trying to help others get through their grief like she did when her too close friends went missing
she did find her friends Sayaka and madoka only to realize their witches who want to drain all the life on earth and make a newfound heaven out of it and I know she’s kind of traumatized from it since they’re kind of haunting her now and want her to join their council
basically they’re going to try to turn her into a magical girl and then force her into a witch
They’re still wanting her to join till this day in AU she works as therapist trying to help her get through her stress
(bonus. The heart on her cheek is a witches kiss)
Tumblr media
Yes, I use my Gacha cause I’m lazy. This is what I think she would look like as an adult though I hate how this character gets hate just because she had a crush Sayaka childhood friend, but listen she was willing to put their friendship first before their love she cares for her clearly
Why do you guys portray her eyes? Someone who hates her friends and is completely selfish When are they going to make her a magical girl?!?

sayaka fucking miki. hero of justice, magical girl, angel of madokami. became a magical girl to heal her childhood friend's hand so he could play violin again. this was after watching her mentor die brutally by getting her head chomped off. her first act as a magical girl was to save her best friend who had JUST stopped a suicide pact. has a black and white view of magical girls and witches which is dismantled bit by bit in the show. becomes the very thing she's fighting against. ends up accepting her crush's relationship with her friend in the final episode and ascends to become an angel of god, who is also her best friend. agrees to save the transfer student she had beef with. is the only one to remember homura akemi is a demon and as a result is silenced for it by having bandages cover half her face. originally had her fucking bones ripped out by homura so she couldn't tell everyone "hey guys, we're living in a false world created by our friend who has become a demon". goes to find her mentor in another city only to find out she'd been brainwashed and joined a magical girl cult. gets her fucking arm blown off when fighting said mentor and regenerates it like its nothing. despite ALL THAT she goes "i'm not as strong as mami-san". then goes to save madoka from a witch's labyrinth and says "if you say you're in trouble i HAVE to save you".
sayaka sayaka sayaka. i want to study you under a microscope.

Sorry I’m thinking of Sayakas relation to Law Of Cycles Madoka. Sayaka was bought into the law of cycles and gained back all her memories, the lost childhood friend who literally gave her life to make sure hers wouldn’t end in tragedy, but there’s a weird displacement. This Sayaka doesn’t truly know Madoka Kaname, she just has memories telling her she does. When she speaks of the law of cycles in Rebellion, she does it in a disconnected grandeur way, something larger than herself, her savior, not someone she would have fun chats with since she was two. This isn’t Madokas Sayaka. She’s had her own life and has been bought into something, something no human could dream of, and it’s only when this happens when she remembers the contradiction that this all seeing goddess IS her best friend.

Sayaka is Biyaka (or, a Lesbian Tries to Disprove the "Sayaka is a Lesbian With Comphet" Bi Erasure Theory)
For some reason, there's a loooot of belief in the PMMM fandom (this was especially bad in the mid 2010s) that Sayaka isn't bi (despite her canon, on screen romantic interested in both Kyosuke, a guy, and Kyoko, a girl), she's "just" a lesbian struggling with compulsive heterosexuality.
While many lesbians do struggle with comphet, erasing Sayaka's status as bi/pan/omni/mspec to claim she's a lesbian is...not great!
Usual signs of comphet include, but are not limited to:
Only attraction to guys involves ones who are entirely unobtainable (ex. a celebrity, fictional, etc)
Any man you fantasize about is faceless/nameless
Interest in men in theory, but not practice
"Choosing" a man to have a crush on to seem "normal", or because it's expected
Attraction based on logic, not actual emotion (ex. because your parents would approve)
Liking a guy until they return the interest
Being attracted to certain guys just because of something like a talent
(...and more examples here!)
However, Sayaka's attraction to Kyosuke doesn't seem based on any of these, but seems more to be genuine attraction/interest.
For one, Sayaka has been close to Kyosuke ever since she was a child. They're described and shown as childhood friends, and he isn't a guy Sayaka "just met" and "chose" to be into.
Tumblr media
Sayaka also just isn't into Kyosuke at a surface level. If she held no true attraction towards him, why would she willingly trade her relatively safe, happy life for his happiness? Her wish was to heal his hand. While this was the stated wish, it's outright shown that Sayaka didn't just want that. It's outright shown canonically that, while not fully said, Sayaka wants Kyosuke's appreciation and recognition for this. She wants him to know the miracle was her doing, and wants him to love her for doing it.
Tumblr media
The various interpretions of this won't be majorly touched here, as whether or not Sayaka's thinking there is "selfish" isn't important. What is important is that Sayaka shows a true level of attraction to Kyosuke, and wishes it was reciprocated.
It's not that she "just" likes him for his skills (she still visits him in the hospital, even during a time where it's implied that he won't be able to play his violin again). It's not that he's a guy out of reach — he's a childhood friend. She's not being pressured into liking guys. She literally jokes about Madoka being her wife in front of Hitomi, publicly.
Her feelings are obvious and genuine enough that Hitomi tells Sayaka that, if she wants, she will give Sayaka a day to confess to Kyosuke before Hitomi does.
Tumblr media
A bisexual person who ends up later liking someone of the same gender later on isn't "actually gay" instead. A bisexual person with a preference isn't "choosing a side". Erasing a canon bisexual character's identity to claim "ummm, akshully, 🤓 they're Really X sexuality instead" is biphobic!
I'm probably not the best person to make this post, as I am a lesbian, not bisexual. However, people erasing a bi character's sexuality to call them a lesbian instead is not okay, and it wouldn't be okay the other way around either. It's not "progressive" to insist a bi character can't possibly be bi, they have to be gay. Sayaka shows no sign of comphet, no sign of "just" likely Kyosuke because she feels it's "right". She shows actual, real interest in him and Kyoko, and that doesn't make her "actually a lesbian". She's bisexual. A character being bi isn't some stepping stone to them being "really" gay later on, and it isn't a dirty word to call them bi! It's an identity like any other.
Most fans ignore Kyosuke. This isn't something I think is a major issue, as Sayaka seems to lose interest in him after Rebellion (saying Hitomi deserves better). He's probably not the best guy. But that's not an excuse to erase Sayaka's identity, because she liked a not-so-great dude. A lesbian with a shitty ex isn't suddenly not a lesbian, and a bisexual person with a less than stellar former crush isn't suddenly not bisexual due to it.
Tl;dr:

I’m redoing my AI au because I didn’t know where to go with the story as well as some not good designs. It’s now heavily inspired by the concept in @/zipsunz Little Mari AU with a Dreamworld Persona along with a Dreamer Persona and an inherited dreamworld, but that is all that I want to take.
You might be wondering why Ai doesn’t have an animated sprite. I got tired and didn’t want to do it due to lazy things.
Real World Designs
NOTES
Only Homura and Madoka have different colours in their designs due to the importance they have.
After the events of the anime, when Madoka gave Homura her ribbons, she also inadvertently gave Homura a small part of her power, which became a replica of Madoka’s Dreamscape.
Dreamscape was originally just a place where Madoka could daydream with her friends, but when Homura took over as the dreamer, it became an escapism mechanism.
Homura layered Dreamscape over her true mental world; the Hospital, where her traumas and nightmares lurk.
She split into two parts in her mind; DW Homura, the aspect that acts out her ideal life with her friends and Ai, who watches it act out and is the main defence against aspects from the Hospital leaking out.
Her something is “Someone” which takes the form of a rotting corpse like zombie. It is formed after years of watching her friends die brutally in front of her.
Her stranger is “Friend?” Which is a small aspect of the real Madoka trying to guide Homura to find help and have her stop using Dreamscape as an escape mechanism.
Homura met Nagisa in a few timelines, although they are sparse she always gravitated towards Mami.
DW Madoka is the Mari/Basil character who acts as the save point in game.
Mami is the one setting up the picnics, but Madoka is the one maintaining it.
Mami and Nagisa take the form of a single unit, with a move called “PASS” which switches Nagisa and Mami’s moveset to the other.
All of the characters are younger than they are in real life. This is based off of Homura’s and several other characters not really having a good childhood, with Homura stuck in a hospital and orphaned, Kyoko being called a witch by her father and killing himself with his family, Mami losing her parents in a car accident, Sayaka developing serious self loathing issues still in middle school, and Nagisa being verbally abused and losing her mother.
Homura’s phobias are lepidophobia, claustrophobia, and ementophobia.
Sayaka can become MISERABLE, Kyoko can become FURIOUS, and Mami and Nagisa can become MANIC
Instead of sprout moles and bunnies being the common enemy, space rabbits are.
Amy hangs out with Madoka at the picnic blanket.
Sayaka uses sports equipment (baseball bats, hagiotas), Mami and Nagisa use Baking Tools (teapots, whisks), Kyoko uses bags and containers, (Paper Bag, Bento Box) and Homura uses Cameras.
Ai can be found in distances watching you from afar.
Homura has been inside for a year.

um i have ideas. of a pmmm swap au. mostly i want it to be kind of madosaya in a way? kyoko and mami swap. madoka swaps w homura, but homura swaps w sayaka. so basically.
madoka = homura
homura = sayaka
sayaka = madoka
kyoko = mami
mami = kyoko
the thing is tho is that sayaka is still madokas childhood friend, but madoka's mom gets promoted so they move to america like in rebellion and are gone for like 5ish years so madoka gets transferred to mitakihara junior high, reconnects w sayaka and hitomi and sayaka is already a magical girl atp and then walpurgis happens and so sayaka and kyoko try to stop it but both die, and madoka wishes that she could protect sayaka and gets timey powers.
homura is sayakas friend who she met shortly after madoka left, and is doomed to either die or witch out in every timeline because of her mounting insecurities as a magical girl and the fact that her wish (to heal hitomi's legs after a very bad accident bc she loooooves her) will always lead to her love being unrequited due to hitomi and kyouske always getting together in every timeline.
basically, madoka reunites with sayaka over and over until more and more karmic debt piles onto her, and every time she beats walpurgis she becomes a witch immediately, ranging from relatively normal oktavia to basically a giant leviathan who is able to flood the entire earth in 10 days.
basically.
sayaka dies bc of walpy
homura always becomes a witch
kyoko either dies or tries to mercy kill everyone
mami dies trying to save homura/gets mercy killed by kyoko.
and poor madoka gets so disillusioned with everything because Being Meguka Is Suffering.
and kyubey is still a bitch. always and forever.
rebellion basically ends the same way w madoka deeming herself the devil to pull sayaka down from "heaven", and then trapping the entire GALAXY in her labyrinth to keep everyone she loves safe + alive

i have brainrot aka madoka magica honkai impact au.
madoka kaname's biggest goal is to become the most powerful valkyrie in the world, and to uphold the prestigious kaname name. unbeknownst to her, she's actually a clone of the real madoka who's status is unknown, mixed with the dna of kriemhild gretchen, the herrscher of the void. she is best friends with sayaka miki (bronya) and homura akemi (mei).
their class president, mami tomoe (fu hua), seems to be the only one who can actually get madoka to study for the written tests, even though madoka is more concerned with becoming physically stronger using the kaname family's specialized pistol kata.
sayaka is still searching for her childhood friend, kyoko sakura (seele), who grew up in an orphanage alongside her and their foster mother, oktavia. kyoko resides in the dirac sea, desperately clinging to control lest her other self ophelia show up to wreak havoc yet again.
madoka keeps getting odd dreams that seem to show a dark version of herself laughing as it hurts all her loved ones.
her aunt kazuko saotome (theresa) is the headmaster of st. freya academy's mitakihara branch, and a lifelong friend of her adoptive mother, junko (himeko) who works as a teacher as well as a valkyrie. unfortunately, junko has only a year, if not months, to live due to artificial stigmata implants that her body is steadily rejecting.
tldr:
madoka = kiana
homura = mei
sayaka = bronya
mami = fu hua
kyoko = seele
kazuko = theresa
junko = himeko
ehe.. will flesh it out more l8r

Karaoke Night
Madoka & Sayaka go to a karaoke club, and Madoka had done something that will forever change their friendship.
This was the very first Madoka fanfic I ever wrote. I had good memories writing this.
It was a normal day in Mitakihara. There's less people walking around or driving, must be a slow day. In a local park, there sits two middle schoolers, staring at the pond. Their names are Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki, and they are best friends. They've been friends since childhood and they never left by their side.
"Man, I'm bored," Sayaka broke the moment.
"Well, we could do something else. There's still plenty of time of the day," Madoka said.
"Yeah, wanna go to the mall?" Sayaka suggested.
"Okay we'll go to the music store so you can pick out another CD," Madoka tried to not sound uninterested but didn't do a good job about it.
"Actually, I want to go someplace else."
"Huh? Like what?"
"I don't know, like... karaoke?"
"Yeah, like... we never tried it before. Right?"
"Um, yeah. But..."
"But... what?"
"Like... you're someone who is not into this stuff."
Sayaka was not offended by that comment. "That's why we should go. None of us has ever tried it, so it'll be a challenge."
Madoka was now afraid. "What are you talking about? You're only going to embarrass yourself out there."
"That's why you're coming with me, so we can both suck together!" Sayaka said proudly.
Madoka pouted. I...I can sing better then you!
***
Both girls were at the mall, attending the karaoke club. Both of them were sitting at a far table, feeling shamed. They had no idea that it will be very embarrassing to do. Sayaka has the lowest score due to her lack of pop music knowledge. Madoka wasn't any better, she is very shy to sing in front of the entire crowd who are probably judging her skills.
"I'm sorry I drag you into this," Sayaka apologized. "I didn't think it will be this bad."
"That's okay Sayaka-chan, what's important is that we both suck. So we'll celebrate our poor skills together," Madoka tried to lighten the mood.
Sayaka smiled at her friend. "Thanks Madoka, you always know what to say when I feel bad."
"That's because I believe in you."
"Yeah... YEAH! Watch me nailed this one!" All fired up, Sayaka got up from the table and approached the stage since it was her turn again. As she went up, she began to select a song to sing. None of the tracks weren't interesting enough, in fact, she doesn't recognize any of them... until she finally spotted one.
"Wait, I know this one. Perfect!" She took the mic, face the crowd, and started singing.
As she was singing, the stage lights up with different colors, shining her so brightly. Madoka was the first to stand and got closer to her. As she was staring, she quickly see something different about her best friend. And her heart was beating too fast as a result.
She looked like an angel.
As Sayaka finished her song, the crowd went wild. It looks like Sayaka picked the right song because her voice sounded far better, even angelic. As she got off the stage, she spotted Madoka and approached her, panting slightly.
"Wow, that was... amazing. I didn't think I hadn't in me, I feel like I should keep singing forever. What do you think Mado-" Sayaka didn't finish her sentence as she was being kissed... by Madoka. The kiss was long and warm, and her body was heating up too fast.
She was being kissed by her childhood friend.
As the kissed ended, Madoka stood there with her eyes feeling dreamy. Meanwhile, Sayaka was still shocked.
"Ma... Madoka?"
When Madoka came back to reality, she realize what she had done and began to freak out.
"Oh my... I'm so sorry Sayaka-chan," Madoka began to cry out loud.
"No, please don't cry! I didn't hate the kiss, I actually enjoy it! Please don't cry!" Sayaka tried to reassure her, but to no avail.
Madoka, still feeling bad and ashamed, turned herself around and began running, crying out loud.
"MADOKA WAIT!"
Sadly, Madoka was already gone. Sayaka just stood there as the rest of the crowd kept staring. Suddenly, a raging pain was spreading inside of her chest. It was so painful that she came to an understanding of what it was.
Her heart was broken.
***
Sayaka was at her apartment, all alone. She decided to head home after not knowing what to do... without Madoka. She lay on her bed and began to contemplate of what just happen an hour ago.
She had been kissed by her childhood friend, Madoka. She started to think about her friend and tries to figure out what this feeling means. The most important question was, did she enjoy it? Yes, she enjoyed the kiss. It was her first kiss and it felt... awkward... and yet exhilarating. She wanted to keep kissing, and hopefully last longer. But the other important question was, does she like girls? At first no, what with her immediate thoughts of Homura and Kyoko, and even Hitomi (who stole Kyousuke from her). She felt deep hatred from those three. However, her thoughts change when she thought about both Madoka and even her late senpai, Mami. Whenever she thinks about those two, her heart race much faster than normal. On the day when Mami was killed by a witch, she turned to Madoka for comfort. And now, everything went back to Madoka. She now sees her as a nice, gentle, pretty, and even attractive girl. All Sayaka wants to do was to hold her, and protect her, and never let go of her, and-
Suddenly, a single drop of tear fell out of Sayaka's right eye. Once she realize this, she came to ultimate conclusion.
Am I... in love... with-
She never finish those thoughts as the door bell ringed. Reluctantly, she got off the bed and headed straight to the front door. When she open it, she was surprised to see Madoka standing in front of her with her head down.
"Ma-Madoka?"
Madoka lifted her head up to see her friend. Sayaka had a good look at Madoka's face. It was all wet and her eyes were pink and puffy, probably from crying too much.
"I... came here... to apologize to you... for running away..." Madoka began to choke her own words "...for kissing you." And with that, she resume to crying.
Sayaka was deeply hurt, seeing her best friend in so much pain is making her feel even more pain. She approached Madoka and hugged her very gently. But... Madoka didn't hold her back.
"There's nothing to apologize, so please, don't cry," Sayaka gently said.
This finally relaxed Madoka and she hold Sayaka while also sobbing on her shoulder. Sayaka continued to let Madoka to sob on her until she was ready. Finally, after about a couple of minutes, Madoka's tears subsided, but she was still depressed.
"Please come inside," Sayaka invited Madoka in her home. She grabbed Madoka's hand and let her inside. Sayaka slowly lead Madoka to the living room and placed her on the couch. By this point, Madoka was very quiet, except with an occasional hiccup sound.
"Do you want some water?" Sayaka asked slowly.
Madoka nodded and Sayaka went to the kitchen and grabbed a nearby glass and began to pour some water onto the glass. While this was happening, she began to think on what to do to make Madoka to feel all better, and she settled on the one thing that will make both of them satisfied. When she was done, she went back to the couch and notices that Madoka was holding her blue Soul Gem that she neglected after coming back home.
"Madoka?"
"Your Soul Gem... I forgot how pretty it looks."
Sayaka's cheeks began to glow red. Maybe she does have a crush on her best friend. Sayaka then gave Madoka the glass of water and sat next to her on the couch.
"You okay now?" asked Sayaka.
Madoka didn't answer, but eventually nodded. Then she finally started drinking her glass.
"Listen, I didn't hate the kiss, in fact, I actually enjoyed it," Sayaka once again reassure her.
Madoka didn't respond to that.
"I wish you gave me time to be ready, so don't feel bad about it."
Still, Madoka was silent. Sayaka was now worrying.
"Madoka, you're making me feel bad."
Finally, Madoka finished her drink and placed it on the table.
"I'm sorry about my actions," she finally said.
"Huh?" Sayaka was confused.
"You hate me now because I violated your privacy, and I'll never forgive myself. I understand if you don't want to be friends with me anymore."
Sayaka was feeling completely lost from all of this. Why is she saying all of this? Did she not hear what I said?
Finally, Madoka got up and said the last words. "I'll leave you alone now. Goodbye."
Madoka was now heading for the door, leaving her best friend, possibly forever. Meanwhile, Sayaka was having a heart attack as tears were coming out of her eyes.
Why is she doing this? I already lost a lot of people, I can't lose more friends...  especially Madoka... Madoka... don't leave me!
Sayaka, in an instinct, got up from the couch and sprinted towards Madoka before she left the room. She hugged Madoka from behind and began bursting into tears.
"Please... don't leave me," Sayaka said in-between her sobs. "I don't want our friendship to end like this. I don't hate you, you're my best friend."
Sayaka was sobbing onto Madoka's right shoulder and holding her, fearing that Madoka might leave. Meanwhile, Madoka was now feeling regret from her actions once again. She thought Sayaka hated her for kissing her, but instead, she was hurting her more for leaving her. She then turn herself around and hugged Sayaka back. Sayaka continues to sob onto her friend while Madoka was kicking herself mentally for making a big mistake.
"I'm... sorry," Madoka said. "I wasn't... thinking right."
"You're not stupid, you are Madoka... my Madoka."
Sayaka had stopped crying and looked at Madoka directly in her eyes.
"Can I tell you something?" Sayaka said.
Madoka was afraid of what Sayaka is about to say.
"I think... I am... in love with you."
Madoka's eyes were widen. Has she misunderstood her best friend this whole time.
"Sayaka-chan."
"Kiss me."
"Huh?"
"Let's kiss again. To be honest, you are an amazing kisser."
Sayaka placed her right hand on Madoka's pinkish cheek while giving her dreamy eyes. Meanwhile, Madoka was freaking out. She doesn't know if she should decline or run away. But all of those thoughts went away when she sees Sayaka's beautiful blue eyes staring directly at her. She was no longer afraid, she sees Sayaka again... as an angel.
Sayaka-chan... my beautiful angel.
Then finally, Madoka closed her eyes, puckered her lips, and placed them onto Sayaka's soft lips. The kiss was long and warm, and yet it felt just right. They hold hands and they slightly moaned as the kiss continues. When they finally broke the kiss they resume their hugging.
"Sayaka-chan?"
"Yes, Madoka?"
"I... I... I love you."
Sayaka resume her tears and hugged Madoka again. "I love you too."
It was a night they will never forget.
The End

what schizoid traits do you see in sayaka?
Ah, I think that Sayaka is canonically closer to a BPD interpretation, so the schizoid traits I see in her are more comorbid with the latter itself. Personally, however, it is more so of my own comfort to headcanon Sayaka as "schizoid" because of the themes of her alienation. Sayaka struggles with reconnecting with others and forming relationships that she desires, all the while isolating herself further and further away from her childhood best friend, Madoka. There are also codes of apathy and indifference regarding how she perceives her own body (a corpse) as an inhuman mobile, and how she eventually succumbs to her loneliness, a sentiment that carries over even to her witch form. As Oktavia, she drowns out reality by confining herself in a world she created - being in the centre of attention on a stage, something that she would not have achieved in the "human" reality. I think how Sayaka perceives reality and how she fails to be in tune with other magical girls is the biggest buzzer here. A person so out of place among even those with magic (as she is inexperienced, unstable and regarded as ineffective compared to the rest of the Holy Quintet), yet rejected as a human with the idea that she is inherently undesirable and unlovable, which perpetuates her mechanisms of "I can't be loved because I am not human and therefore I will not maintain any meaningful relationships".
As opposed to explicit traits, I feel that there are "codes" with her character/arc which resonate with my experiences more.
