further drawings of my d&d character THRUMM DEEPGLOW, dwarven funerary priest and circle of spores druid. he is religiously obsessed with the role mushrooms and other decomposers play in the cycle of life, and he talks in a deep, slow monotone. his primary settings are Congenial and Completely Feral. i enjoy playing him a lot.

the last image depicts the part of our campaign where Thrumm conjured eight wolves to fight a wraith. it's arguably his best moment since the part in our first game where he killed a man by superheating his ostentatious belt buckle until he caught fire.

sorry bea if this spoils anything but what do you think about all the dragon names in elden ring ending in -sax? my gut feeling, knowing that grrm loves putting references to british history in his stuff, is that its a reference to the anglo saxon people/kingdoms (sussex,wessex) in that they remain foundational to the current age even though all their power was subsumed ages ago, just like a dragon was elden lord before the age of marika

fuck i forgot to get to this one. i know so little about the george rr martiverse but that scans as a completely reasonable conclusion to draw given the way these games fold in real world information

So, I smoked a new Placidusax idea...

Alright so uh... I've noticed at some point during that battle that Placidusax looked like he (?) had severed heads: three severed and two still remaining! It made me recall that there are also exactly three other -sax dragons in the story (Fortissax, Lansseax and Gransax). So like, what if these three dragons somehow grew up/evolved from these severed heads? BUT but but!!!! Turned out that a certain discovery from Zullie can explain even more on this:

So, guuuyyyys? We have: 1) Placidusax currently has two heads remaining, male and female one 2) Male heads are bigger than female ones 3) Original look suggests three female heads and two male heads 4) Gransax is bigger and we know is male 5) Lansseax is female and is a sister of Fortissax whose gender isn't stated

So based on this, I think that Fortissax would be female! And I think the idea about these other three -sax dragons somehow existing from the severed heads of Placidusax might work, at least the numbers and internal filenames fall into place 🤔

Sax

A sax or seax is a bladed weapon which is sized between a knife and sword. There are many varieties of sax weapons, both in handles and their decoration and the blade. They are predominantly made of steel alloys and can have one or two cutting edges.

Wooden handles often don’t survive, but the blades themselves can often be found in Merovingian era graves.

Both historical texts and literature mention saxes, Beowulf for example uses one to kill a dragon.

They are found in graves that were dated between 400 and 800 AD.
