I was so excited to see a copy of this in real life bc it's something I studied in art history. this is a book that was typeset and printed by hand using wooden blocks but every one of the characters was invented for the sake of the piece and does not correspond to any word in the Chinese language

c+c new appreciator here. i'm new to the fandom via silvergifting and was trying to learn more about celebrimbor and stumbled on your blog. you are a delight and i feel like i have expanded knowledge about celebrimbor and curufin's allies now. knowing tyelp'es complicated relatoinships and that he has peopole understanding the complexitiies that celebrimbor faces trying to show curufin his apppreciation.... is good.... the feanorians aren't going anywwhere because they care each other!!! esp curufin he is as full of love as a croissant is full of butter

Finrod has the comics sans style handwriting.

It’s said that Finrod was more concerned with matters of thought than skill of hand… I thought it would be funny if the beloved King of Nargothrond had ugly handwriting. (btw Curufin and Feanorians in general, except maybe Tyelko, likely had impeccable handwriting because Feanor).

i was going to like fix it up and shade it but i cant do that anymore becausd i actidentally did something to the image and now i csnt edit it (i use photos gallery as an art app past 12am)

So for me. This thing.

I do tend to mess around while drawing but jokes aside I was just out of practice and couldn’t get things to look right. I was struggling with composition and angles and it made me go “Yeah I need to go back to doing some studies”. And I’m also bad at organizing things. I end up drawing multiple things on a single file (different layers) so that doesn’t help my case. Hands are also a nightmare.

On the bright side I have gotten better with hair ig? I have definitely gotten better at drawing that mask (and the armor) thanks to concept art of Lü Bu I found that broke it down better than in game screenshots.

But oh well, here’s the full thing.
