Thank you with love, the Save Dead Boys Team.” J: Well, I can safely say that the fact that a group and community of people banded together to put up this billboard to basically tell people that they want our show to be renewed and the fact that it was all just raised through the community, nearly $10,000, I-I-I still can’t quite find the words to explain how much that means to us and to the show. Um— G: Oh my gosh— J: All I can do, and I’m sure George will do the same, but is just express, um, my gratitude. G: Absolutely. J: Thank you. G: And look, unfortunately we’re not in Los Angeles. We will be, uh, later this year, but, we won’t be there on time to unfortunately see it in person, but I did see it when it went up. Uh, I shared it on my Instagram and I can’t even tell you the number of messages I’ve received saying, uh, “This is amazing!” Um, people are really shocked in the best way, I mean, there’s campaigning to save a show and then there’s CAMPAIGNING to save a show. J: With a capital P. G: Um, so, honestly, the hugest congratulations from your Dead Boys. The hugest thank you, as well, because, um, if that’s not a sign that the show has spoken to people, I really don’t know what is. J: Yeah. G: Um, and there’s a lot of talent, there’s a lot of marketing, um, you know, [???] that you guys are bringing to it, so well done and, uh, yeah, we’re, listen, we’re just two silly Dead Boys— J: Yes, we are— G: We’re big fans of you. You guys are the ones who are making moves, and, uh, we see you, and we love you. J: I saw something this morning that there’s another campaign being put up that they can extend the billboard for like another three weeks somewhere else, and I think people already donating to that cause, so, a-a-all we can say is “Wow!” Y-you guys never fail to surprise us. You’re incredible. Keep shouting, keep screaming, keep doing what you can. Dead Boy Detectives Letter Writing Campaign

Every 2 weeks (typically Thursdays), there's a concentrated letter writing campaign to encourage Netflix to renew Dead Boy Detectives.

If you are able to do so, I highly encourage you to send letters! Flooding them with our love and loyalty to the show on an ongoing basis keeps Dead Boy Detectives on their radar, and it forces them to at least be aware of how serious their subscribers are about the show.

Tips to make letter writing more successful

Put "ATTN TO": specific executives at Netflix, so the letters go to them/their departments. Suggestions are: Bela Bajaria and Peter Friedlander (Chief US/Canadian Show Executives), Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos (Netflix Co-CEOs) and Reed Hastings (Chairman and Founder).

Channel your inner Niko and Be Kind.

Don't stress about perfection. It doesn't have to be perfect. Write why the show is important to you, why you think it needs to be renewed. You can reference any of the articles or stats on the campaign website or social media. I printed a pic of the billboard in one of my letters that went out to each exec (tee hee). Be as creative (or not creative) as you want. What's most important is that it gets mailed :)

You can absolutely resend letters you've already sent, and write ATTN to these people (that's what I did, pictured above, hence the 3 sets of letters to all 5 exec's).

You also don't need to wait for a letter writing campaign to send letters! If you're feeling inspired on another date, then by all means, embrace it!

Idk if anyone is a fan of Manifest but it was in a similar situtation as Dead Boy Detectives is: canceled on a cliffhanger and then picked back up. There's a fantastic, enlightening article on how the fans managed to make that happen:

The TLDR, when it comes down to it? VIEWS.

So, Point 1 I'm trying to make: REWATCH THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW. Have it on all day, every day and when it gets to the Netflix Top-10 trending DO NOT STOP. Have it on in the background on a low volume, pop some headphones in if you don't want to hear it. Literally KEEP WATCHING. DO NOT CANCEL YOUR NETFLIX ACCOUNT.

Point 2: If you have a family member or friend who hasn't watched Dead Boy Detectives, ask them to. If they're not interested, here's what I suggest - ask them to let you sign into their account and watch it full through to help boost the viewership. Do it at night when they're sleeping or while they're at work and don't need their account. If Netflix sees an uptick in accounts who have never watched this show watching it, that will raise eyebrows.

They do not care about our feelings. They do not care about the integrity of artful storytelling or the importance of queer representation.

They care about views. We need to give them views. A tremendous turnaround in viewership post-cancellation will make them reconsider. That's how we save our show. It's just like Crystal Palace said - we need a unified front if we're going to face the mistress of doom (Netflix HQ) out there!!!

STREAM THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW and do not stop telling others to do the same! If you were on the fence about watching this show, this is your sign to watch it because we need you now more than ever! I promise you will love it, the show is so meaningful, fun, and special... plus we are an awesome, active fandom with talented writers and artists! You will have a great time here and you know what if you don't like it you can personally kick me in the shin honestly! Please help us save our show!

DBDA FANS & QUEER SHOW CRUSADERS!

Recently, We've all been crushed by the horrible news of 'Dead Boy Detective Agency's Cancellation, and rightfully so! In the server I host, we've come up with a plan to figure out our next steps moving forward and to see if we have a real chance at campaigning for the show! At the moment, we're going to be selecting a user as a representative to reach out to Beth & Steve and ask if there's a real chance for us to be able to campaign or if hope is lost. We'll be sharing the link to the tweet here and in other DBDA servers so we can get it boosted as much as possible. Its the hopes that the retweets and @'s will gain their attention and we can have our questions answered. If our response is silence, we'll be going with plan B which includes having a mass group of people send the same message in hopes that it'll break through some of the noise!

We'd like to add that if this DOES work and we're told that we have a chance at successfully campaigning for DBDA; there will likely be fundraising and other events involved. Please stay tuned for my reblog of this post (which i'll pin to my blog) of the link to the tweet so you can aid us in this effort and join our fight to save this show!

I know it might feel like there's no point, but there is. Saving DBD is where we're headed, but there's so much on the road. Remember every fight ever fought felt hopeless at some point, and not every battle was won, but it always means something.

Hello Good Omens fandom - I'm reaching out to you in a plea of fandom solidarity! Please help us!!!

I'm writing on behalf of The Dead Boy Detectives fandom: our show was canceled in its first season, cut off without a care for its dedicated fandom or its insane amount of potential. Yet another queer, diverse, supernatural show suffers an unfair fate and we're bloody sick of it! We believe Netflix and Warner Bros. are making a huge mistake!

We're not just trying to get a season 2: we're trying to get justice for the cast, crew, and writers behind this unapologetically queer show. They had the writers write a season 2 just to cancel the show and, frankly, that's objectively a slimy thing to do. I believe Dead Boy Detectives is a casualty of its time, that shows cult-clasic, niche shows like Buffy or Supernatural for instance would suffer the same fate today if held to Netflix's callous and cruel standards and their blatant disregard for creatives.

Lastly, our shows are actually quite similar, and I think if you enjoy Good Omens you would enjoy Dead Boy Detectives as well! Please don't let the cancellation deter you, it really it a phenomenal show that will have you laughing one moment and crying the next. It has so much heart! Please help us save our boys who defy heaven and hell with their love! 💜
