Transiting Sun enters Scorpio
Tuesday, October 22 - Thursday, November 21, 2024
Scorpio the Scorpion*:
• Water (emotional and soul - feeling, nurturing, hidden, sensitive)
• Yin (gravity - ingoing, receptive, intuitive, right-brained)
• Fixed (stabilizing security - concentrating, consolidating, focused, persevering, stubborn)
• Interpersonal (social - focused on others
• "I transform"
• Ruler - Mars (traditional), Pluto and the rest of the TNOs (modern); exalted - Uranus
• Color: deepest blue, so dark you can barely tell it’s blue and not black
*Gleaned almost completely from the book Astrology for Yourself by Bloch and George; the rulerships and color are my own theory/belief.)
===***+++***===
Not a pleasant, smooth, and tranquil transit - after all, it’s Scorpio! Bring on the drama and the feels.
And after all the drama and feels of Libra season, we’re all due for some self-analysis and introspective soul-searching. We may not always be comfortable with what we discover, but that’s part of the Scorpio process - becoming comfortable with the darker issues.
Try not to isolate yourself during this time. Scorpio tends to brood, and really needs others’ perspectives to keep it in line.
Allow a day or so on either side of these aspects:
Sunday, October 27 - Monday, October 28:
Sun/Scorpio inconjunct North Node/Aries, semi-sextile South Node/Libra, 4°57’
Sun/Scorpio (5°42’) sesquiquad Jupiter Rx/Gemini (20°42’)
And we’re off to a somewhat uncomfortable start. Perhaps we took on more than we can do? Asking for help is allowed!
Friday, November 1, 12:47 UT - New Moon, 9°35’ Scorpio. Xx
Monday, November 4:
Sun/Scorpio (12°26’) sesquiquad Neptune Rx/Pisces (27°26’)
Sun/Scorpio trine Saturn Rx/Pisces, 12°47’
Election Eve in the US. Don’t believe the Neptunian hype - the media wants ratings and revenue, and will do whatever it takes (including obfuscate or outright lie) to acquire them. Thank goodness for that steadying Saturn trine!
Sunday, November 10 - Monday, November 11:
Sun/Scorpio (19°12’) sesquiquad North Node/Aries (4°12’), semi-square South Node/Libra (4°12’)
Sun/Scorpio inconjunct Jupiter Rx/Gemini, 19°33’
Sun/Scorpio inconjunct Chiron Rx/Aries, 19°59’
And we return to biting off more than we can chew, except this time our health is involved. We have to be honest about our capabilities - and willing to “let go and let God/dess” when necessary.
Wednesday, November 13 - Sun/Scorpio sextile Ceres/Capricorn, 22°13’. Very domestic. We can find solace in our “families.” Maybe some holiday planning happens. We’re happy to putter. Take Grandma out for lunch!
Friday, November 15 - Saturday, November 16:
Full Moon, 24°01’ Taurus (21:28 UT)
Sun/Scorpio semi-sextile Pallas/Sagittarius, 24°09’
Sun/Scorpio (24°16’) semi-sextile Vesta/Libra (9°16’)
Sun/Scorpio inconjunct Eris Rx/Aries, 24°39’
Sun/Scorpio opposite Uranus Rx/Taurus, 25°14’
Disruptions and eruptions during this Full Moon! It’s weird energy. Something illumined that’s really surprising and extreme - while the inconjumct and oppositon are crackling around us, we’re using those semi-sextiles to try to figure out what to do.
Monday, November 18 - Sun/Scorpio trine Neptune Rx/Pisces, 27°13’. A nice way to finish Scorpio Season. If there are things we need to let go of, this energy helps with that. Spiritual vibes of forgiving and of being forgiven.

Weekend Update 02/11/2024
Tumblr media
Nerdie! It's the middle of the month, how are you?
Good. Nothing to complain about. Mainly relaxed and then worked Thursday and Friday. My orientee made me laugh.
Oh? How so?
She said that now that she's had some different preceptors she enjoys my balances of being a bit hands off since I know she's experienced, but still checking in during the shift to see how things are going. (Puffs out chest and also wonders if that's a good or bad thing.)
I mean, if she said it's fine, it should be fine right? Now did you do anything writing this week?
I did a bit. Not as much as I normally do. I'm gearing up for projects I have either agreed to or planned for myself.
My two fics are quite different. One was silly and sweet and the other was filth. Nerdie in a nutshell really:
Is it for the wallet of the shoebox? (Tim Rockford x plus size female reader) Tim being silly in a bookstore leads to a serious conversation and a partial photoshoot at home. Comedy and domestic fluff with slight spice.
One Pass for the both of Us (Lucian Flores x female reader x Benny Miller) You and your boyfriend Lucian have the same hall pass. All smut with sweatpants and gold chains.
Working on two things I promised people. One requested fluff and the other action and smut.
I decided to start a new series (because clearly I don't have enough - Dieter, Frankie and Tim give Nerdie a death glare) 👀 because this Pedro character was in my WIPs way before the three of you! Might even help me brainstorm…
Two Hearts by the Ocean will feature Javier Gutierrez x Abigail (plus size OFC). The vibe is sweet summer romance. Mainly fluff every Wednesday, not sure how many parts, at least five. Let me know if you'd like to be tagged for it. I have a few people in mind but if you'd like to be added, let me know. 😆
Roc & Doc and Weddings 101 with Dieter are still ongoing, no worries. Tim and Dieter have calmed. Frankie is a bit pissed still but you have the longest masterlist Fish! You don’t care…well. Okay. 🫡
I might be trying to figure out how to write Ezra. I love reading fics with the man, but his speech patterns have so many nuances to it. I've been studying @morallyinept aka Jett's Pedro Pascal Character Database that she's been compiling and her entry on Ezra from Prospect has been invaluable. It's an excellent reference for Pedro character fic writers or if you just wanna know more. She also has one specifically on Ezra’s speech patterns that I swear I’ve read at least four times.
It's me, I'm the problem. 😭 I’m either overthinking or not focusing on the right parts. Ugh…
Fics I read this week: ( I took time off work and had plenty of time to read - still didn't get to everything. 🥸)
Movie Night by @munsonownsmyass (Zach Ellison x reader)
No game at all (but I can do this) by @for-a-longlongtime (Marcus Pike x Tim Rockford - Frankie Morales floating in thots)
Wouldn't It Be Nice - Chapter one by @lady-pug (Agent Whiskey x female reader)
02 x birds - Frankie Morales x reader by @trulybetty
Mon Amour by @saturn-rings-writes (Jake Lockley x black female reader)
The Stars by @youvebeenlivingfictional (Poe Dameron x reader)
Mutual by @morallyinept (Ezra x female reader)
Dinner Party by @lavendertales (Steven Grant x fem reader)
The Mercenary and the Whore by @absurdthirst and @storiesofthefandomlovers
Comedy of Errors (MK Spring Bingo #3) by @soft-girl-musings (Steven Grant x GN reader)
03 x snowfall - Marcus Pike x reader by @trulybetty
Ambrosial by @spacecowboyhotch (Din Djarin x fem. black reader)
Half of you - part 1 and part 2 by @foxilayde (Santiago Garcia x female reader)
God Speed by @magpiepills (Tim Rockford x female reader)
Not for nothing @magpiepills (Ezra x female reader)
Perfect Fit by @lowlights (Frankie Morales x plus size reader)
To the Flame - chapter 5 by @pedroshotwifey (Dark Javier Peña x female reader)
Come back to me by @reallyrallyauthor (Poe Dameron x female reader)
If you’re not looking at @immarocketman ‘s art, then I feel sad for you. It’s beautiful 🤗 They put out a sketch of Din/Cobb this week that’s apparently going to have a fanfic written about it by @theywhowriteandknowthings
There was also an excellent head cannon about Sarah’s younger years by @clickergossip that resonated with me on Black girlhood. ☺️
That's about it until next week! 🥰
Stay hydrated and safe!
Love Nerdie 💜

Venus opposite Pluto Rx EXPLAINED
As you move away from last Friday’s fertile and nurturing new moon, this week’s astrology cranks up the temps and the passion. What to expect? Oh, just a value shift, a potential power struggle, a few excitable conversations about the future, annnd a first quarter moon. The highlight of the week—as in, the transit everyone will be talking about—is Venus in Leo. The planet of love, money, and art struts into the fierce, attention-grabbing, hot and heady fire sign, beckoning YOU to be bolder in your self-expression and more demanding with your desires. But first, the actual astrology:
July 8 – Mercury in Leo sextile Jupiter in Gemini (9°43)
July 8 – Venus in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus (26°2)
July 9 – Mercury trine North Node in Aries (10°49)
July 10 – Lilith in Libra trines retrograde Pluto in Aquarius (at 1°11!)
July 11 – Sun trines Retrograde Saturn in Pisces (19°19)
July 11 – Venus trines retrograde Neptune in Pisces (29°55)
July 11 – Venus enters Leo
July 12 – Venus opposes retrograde Pluto in Aquarius (1°8)
July 12 – Jupiter in Gemini sextiles North Node in Aries (10°36)
July 14 – First Quarter Moon in Libra (22°)
You may have noticed I’ve included the degrees in which these transits take place. That’s because, rather stupidly, I haven’t done much of this before (mostly because as soon as I see too many numbers, my dyslexic brain blacks out). This is stupid because it doesn’t allow YOU to determine whether or not any, some, or all of this week’s astrology impacts planets in your chart. (Of course, if you’d rather me do this for you, check out my 2024 Birth Chart Reading to get in-depth insights into how this week (and all other weeks this year) are affecting YOU.) Anyway!
Get the FULL SCOOP on this week's astrology, including and ESPECIALLY the Venus-Pluto opposition, in this FREE weekly forecast--it's also a podcast episode!

Faithful Vigil
Friday - January 19, 2024
Tumblr media
I know you feel it ... the upcoming conjunction of the Sun and Pluto at 29° Aquarius AND Pluto's entry into Aquarius for only the second time in 245 years. Transits this deep get into your being-ness, and in turn help you see what your being-ness is made of.
Have faith. Faith that our grandparents had during times of war or economic upheavals. The faith that our ancestors had during times of persecution or uncertainty.
Today if you will take a step in the direction of Faith it will be easier to find, and more accessible. This is courtesy of a square between Venus in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces at 25°. It is asking you to align your beliefs and your faith ... and believe me, for many of you those are two different things.
Because Saturn has now moved to 5° Pisces, your mind can "talk down" any irrational fears that come up due to Black Moon Lilith's move to 12° Virgo.
Stay faithful over the next few days. There will be those who partake in the "doom and gloom," and will tell you that you aren't seeing "reality." Avoid them ... they are blowviators, who have yet to witness how the mighty hand of God Universe can move upon people, places, things and circumstances.

NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS Earth planning date: Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 Today, we planned for 3 sols over the weekend. On Sol 4311, we have a lot of science activities planned, including some ChemCam and Mastcam observations of the “Obelisk” target. These activities will allow our instruments to gather data about rock features of interest within the rover workspace, including a LIBS analysis which will give us more insight into chemical composition. We will also take some landscape images of the ridges within the upper Gediz Vallis channel. But we don’t only plan for science activities – as a robotic arm engineer, I’m looking forward to a new in-flight activity we are executing on Sol 4311. We are testing parallelism between arm activities and a telecommunications window between the rover and an orbiter. As we get further and further into the mission, we have been testing what activities we might be able to do in parallel (ie: they are happening at the same time on the rover!) in order to be more efficient during our on time. After this execution, we’ll be able to get more information on how both activities went, and if it was successful, this will be able to save us a lot of time in the future! On 4312, we have some remote science planned, including a Navcam dust devil movie, a ChemCam active observation, and some Mastcam imaging. Equally exciting, though, is our planned full MAHLI wheel imaging. This is a traverse activity where we do a short drive, take photos of the wheels, do another short drive and take more photos, such that we are getting imaging of the entire circumference of our wheels. This is an activity we do periodically to assess the state and health of the wheels. For full documentation of our wheel state, we will drive seven meters over the course of about three hours. I’ve included an image above of the last time we performed full MAHLI wheel imaging (on Sol 4088). On 4313, we will execute some more science activities. This includes more remote science with a Navcam suprahorizon movie and a dust devil survey, and ChemCam AEGIS execution. Recall that AEGIS is our autonomous targeting system that will be able to pick out targets of interest around our new location post-drive. We’ll also execute some early morning science including a Mastcam tau atmospheric observation to measure dust in the atmosphere. From an engineering perspective, I am looking forward to seeing how our parallelism test went, and to view the updated imaging of our wheels. It will definitely be an exciting weekend for our little rover! Hii! I was just thinking back to ABM before and I got this idea... would you be able to do something where maybe Clementine gets jealous of, say, Penelope and Corbyn’s relationship because their personalities are so similar? I read some of the blurbs before and the one where the boys were babysitting the girls and Corbyn and Penelope just clicked. Thanks!! 😁😁
Omg yes Penny is Corbyn’s lil buddy it’s so cute. Clementine wasn’t really much of a jealous type especially because she was so close with Jack but she does tend to get jealous when the attention isn’t on her—

Out of university, Corbyn got a job at the Science Centre just outside of the city where he worked in the space wing and gave tours and ran little workshops for tour groups and things. He really loved his job but he loved it even more when the girls came to visit too. Daniel had taken the day off work – Florence had a doctor’s appointment in the morning anyway – and then the family drove down to the science centre for the afternoon since Corbyn only worked there during the week.
He met them in the lobby and got them their tickets with his employee discount before leading them through the building towards the space wing. Three-and-a-half-year-old Penelope held his hand excitedly, eyeing his fancy white lab coat he had to wear with his first name embroidered on the breast pocket in blue font. Corbyn wore it and a beaming smile with pride whenever he was at work.
Five-year-old Clementine was sat in Daniel’s arms as they took the escalator down a few levels to the space hall but wiggled to be set down when they reached it. Clementine ran ahead when they got there, in awe by the dark painted ceiling dotted with little lights to resemble stars. She rushed right over to the first set up booth that had a display model of one of the space telescopes.
“This way, Clemmy.” Daniel called, urging her to follow after them deeper into the exhibit.
Corbyn led them down the star-lit hallway to another section that had a black-out curtain hiding a small circular room that was basically one big screen. Penelope wasn’t a fan of the dark so she took a bit of convincing to go inside, until Corbyn picked her right up and made a pinky promise that it was safe. Clementine held Florence’s hand as they all stood in the middle of the small dark room, Corbyn over by the wall where a computer screen was.
“What’s your birthday, buddy?” he asked the little girl in his arms.
Penelope held up three fingers.
“Not how old you are.” Corbyn chuckled. “Your birthdate.”
“January 1!” Clementine pipped up.
“We’re gonna do Penelope’s first.” Corbyn said.
Clementine frowned.
“July 30, 2020.” Florence answered for the youngest.
Corbyn set the date into the computer screen and the small room filled with a display of stars like they were standing right in outer space. Penelope’s eyes went wide and she peered around the whole room from her spot in Corbyn’s arms.
“This is what the sky looked like the day you were born!” Corbyn explained with a grin. “Isn’t it pretty?”
Penelope nodded, her small arm draped around his shoulders.
“Do you know your planets?”
“I do!” Clementine raised her hand eagerly. “Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.”
“Very good, Clemmy.” Corbyn praised softly.
Clementine beamed with pride.
Corbyn carried Penelope closer to the wall of stars and pointed to a spot, “That’s Jupiter.”
Penelope reached out to poke it too.
Corbyn pointed to another one, “And that’s the Big Dipper constellation over here, making a little shape out of pretty stars.”
Clementine rushed over to see too, shouting an eager, “Can I see my sky now?”
“Okay.” Corbyn went back to the computer screen and typed in ‘January 1, 2019’. The screen flickered and shifted and revealed another array of stars and planets.
“Where’s Jupiter for mine?” Clementine asked loudly, tugging at the side of Corbyn’s white lab coat. He took her across the small room to point out the planet and a few constellations too. Penelope was still in his arms, scratching her little finger over the letters of his name etched into his lab coat, her head resting against his.
“Why don’t we move on to look at something else?” Corbyn suggested, reaching his free hand up to rub over Penelope’s back. She nodded.
He showed them the display of space rocks, crouching down to set Penelope on the ground and let her reach into the case to touch one. She ran her hand over it shyly before quickly pulling back and smiling bashfully up at Corbyn. Clementine rushed over too, weaseling her way in to see the rocks, nearly shoving her sister in the process.
“Hey, Clementine Ophelia, no pushing.” Daniel scolded lightly.
Penelope only frowned, sticking close to Corbyn as he shared a bit of information about the table they were at. He always had too many facts to share and at work it was his perfect excuse to use them. Florence and Daniel glanced at the few rocks displayed through the glass case.
Florence chuckled lightly, pointing to a small one as she whispered to Daniel, “That’s how big our baby is right now.”
Daniel only smiled, pulling her close and pressed a kiss to her cheek, setting his hand over the swell of her stomach.
Their moment was interrupted by Penelope bursting into tears. The parents looked over quickly to where Clementine had pushed her way between her little sister and Corbyn, which displeased Penelope greatly.
“Share.” Clementine snapped at her, tucking her arm around Corbyn’s leg as he stood, surprised.
“Yes, you do need to share.” Daniel said, holding his hand out to his eldest. “Come walk with Daddy, okay?”
Clementine frowned at him but stomped over, letting her sister have priority with Corbyn. The eldest sister scowled as Corbyn scooped up Penelope again and she quieted down nearly right away. He reached into his coat pocket with his free hand and pulled out a planet shaped sticker, holding it out to the little girl in his arms.
“A sticker to dry your tears?” he offered.
Penelope grinned and took it from him with a whispered, “Thank you.”
Clementine’s frown deepened until Corbyn reached into his pocket again and pulled out another sticker to hand over to her.
“Did you think I’d forget about the big sister?” Corbyn tisked, smiling sweetly as Clementine beamed and grabbed it from him.
“What do you say?” Florence said, tugging lightly at her daughter’s thin ponytail.
“Thank you.” Clementine mumbled, smiling down at her sticker before holding it up to her sister in Corbyn’s arms to show off, “Ha-ha! Mine’s bigger!”
