Going Beyond

This week I have had several situations that have moved me beyond what I like, condone or agree with. I've had to look at several opinions I hold to see if they are biased, unfounded, or if they come from fear or ignorance. It is mighty uncomfortable, because I might come to the conclusion I've been WRONG about a few things. And other things I might be surprised (or shocked!) by how right I was.

That is the astrological energies of this day, capped by an early morning (at least here in the US) Full Moon in Aquarius, followed almost immediately by a 23-hour Moon void of course.

This is an excellent time to look at anything that tweaked you this week and get down to the bottom of it. But you have to be willing to be wrong, as well as own being right. I speak of owning intuitive nudges you were right about but didn't listen to. But I also speak of opinions you formed with limited information, and have come to see that you were wrong.

This isn't easy work. But it's liberating work, and I personally am tired of things that are slowing me down or blocking opportunities.

The Thaw

I know it doesn't look like it right now, but there are many a heart out there that is beginning to "thaw." Hearts that are beginning to see how important relationships, family and community truly are. Beginning to see that kindness in the workplace and neighborhood is vital. Beginning to see that a small kindness given to the cashier, clerk or attendant at an area business makes all the difference.

Yes, I know it doesn't "look" that way right now given what the media likes to show. I used to work in media and can validate the phrase "if it bleeds, it leads."

But there is a renewal of love and kindness, of just plain ole human decency. Yes, there are many instances of just the opposite, but it is precisely those instances that are helping us see how far off track we've gotten.

Today as Mars in Libra trines Uranus in Gemini, and opposes the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries, I encourage you to do your part in the great "heart thaw." Take small steps toward love via kindness, courtesy and personal respect. Ignore the headlines and the sensationalism. And as we sit on the eve of a Full Moon in Aquarius, just remember we are in the dawning of the Age of Aquarius ... a time that promises a rise in human consciousness unlike anything we've ever seen!

Open To Receive

Thursday - August 7, 2025

The Moon in Capricorn is still void of course until 9:18pm ET tonight. See yesterday's post for more details.

This void of course ends during a day in which the Sun is at 15° Leo, a space that invites you to open up to your heart. Occurring during a void of course Moon it means open up to things your mind has been resisting.

Oh yes, your mind will assume it can speak for the heart, when it's job is to work to accomplish what the heart wants. It WILL work in alliance with the heart if you will simply allow it to.

What are you resisting that the heart could really use right now. Think simple, don't over complicate it. Maybe you need more rest, a bit more quiet time, or more time just engaging with your favorite hobby.

Whatever that is, and while the Moon in Capricorn is still void of course, it's a good time to give your heart that one little thing. It will have a greater impact than you realize.

Pondering Self-Leadership

At 1:39pm ET the Moon in Capricorn enters a 31-hour void of course period, a time where it will not be in any exact alignment with the other planetary bodies. This signals a time when your emotions are a bit "offline," and it's best to not make major life decisions. It's a time when your emotions are free to discover new feelings, and to examine possibilities you've emotionally resisted.

This void of course period has a focus on self-leadership, and the ability to chart your own course forward, AND the impact it will have on others.

At 7:23pm ET tonight Mars will move into the relationship focused sign of Libra, and Mars does this while the Moon is void of course in Capricorn. Capricorn deals with structures, processes and planning. These two energies combined means you could be tempted today to leave a group or relationship and create holes and vacuums you did not intend. This doesn't mean do not leave; on the contrary.

However, your motives could be misinterpreted or present you in a bad light. The exception is if you have been planning an exit, and if you must do it today, then do it.

Otherwise, practice self-leadership and do two things: determine what this relationship change will mean for you, and craft an exit plan. Yes, plans change so accommodate for that as well.

But this is what self leaders do. They consider others, and they consider themselves separate from others. There is a place where these two coexist peacefully, and today is an opportunity to find that place before acting on making it so.

Rushing Around

Tuesday - August 5, 2025

Today many will feel this sense of "urgency," a feeling that if they don't do "it" now it will never get done. And while there may be some truth to that, it's more than likely just Mars @ 29° Virgo.

Mars is the planet of movement and action, of taking control and setting the pace. Virgo is the sign your daily routine, your overall wellness, and your general interaction with reality. 29° is the last degree in a sign, and is a "tested" degree. As the sign is winding down there is the temptation to complete everything that planet/sign combination has been trying to do.

A good way to think of today is that it feels like 6pm Christmas Eve and you're starting your Christmas shopping.

So people will be rushing around. Many will insist that you work on things that aren't so important because these other things "feel" more important. People will act a bit more hectic and a lot more impulsive. And those who are in leadership or able to direct the efforts of others may decide to make you jump because they can.

But you're more self-aware, and realize this is a day for completing a few loose ends, and for putting some finishing touches on things. No need for rushing, no need for calamity. But a good day for accomplishment, and being proud about those wins!

Simply Love

Monday - August 4, 2025

Yesterday Uranus in Gemini moved to 1°, a degree it hasn't occupied since 1943. As it moves to 1°, it joins Saturn and Neptune who are at 1° Aries.

1° is the I LOVE state of awareness. This year Uranus will only make it to 1° Gemini before starting a retrograde back into Taurus.

This is the invitation to invest in "love" as you never have before. To love for the sake of love.

Love that is not simply extended to people, but to all of the things around you.

God Universe is asking you to love differently, and dare I say, but a bit more radically as well.

Take Time To Care

Saturday - August 2, 2025

Today Jupiter moves to 12° Cancer. 12° is a degree it rules, making it especially potent as it tours Cancer right now.

12° is a degree that asks you to take a minute, stop and observe, and learn from what you see. It's a degree that asks you to see the proverbial "lay of the land," and notice what is going on.

In Cancer it is asking you to see where something needs tending, needs some care.

So look around you today. What needs some care? Is it your neighbor who is having difficulty mowing their yard? Maybe a coworker needs a kind word and some encouragement. Or do you see that the customer service rep at the store is going above and beyond, and it would be nice to tell their manager how helpful they were.

Take time to care today. And if someone shows you some caring then please receive it.

If we don't take care of each other, there's nothing really good that will come from that.

Exhausted Friday - August 1, 2025

(I apologize that I missed yesterday's post. My Beloved had an early morning medical procedure and time just got away from me.)

I may be the only Astrologer who is going to be this blunt about the coming months, but watch out for "psychologically unwell" as we go thru this Saturn, Neptune and Chiron retrograde. The psychologically unwell ONLY have their ego. They do not have an inner knowing of Self, and cannot hold an emotional tone aligned with anything higher than the expression of their ego.

These are the people who will blame their reactions on YOU and what you are doing. They will point fingers, make accusations, and demand YOU change your actions or attitudes. They will exhaust you with their endless demands, and in a twisted way will enjoy your attempts to appease them.

But you can't, and you won't ... nor should you.

These folks are unwell, and it's about time someone stated it just that plainly.

When Saturn and Neptune retrograde back into Pisces (September and October, respectively) it will be an opportunity for these individuals to see an imbalanced part of their inner Self and to start making changes. The majority will not, and Mother Life via her laws of cause/effect and consequence will take care of the rest.

As for today, I counsel that you start seeing this as a reality for the remainder of 2025, and into mid-2026. It is the most loving and compassionate thing you can do for yourself. And while it will involve a degree of "tough love," the most loving and compassionate thing you can do for them as well.

The Big Retreat

There are a lot of moving parts today, so let's break it down.

First, we are in a 37-hour Libra Moon Void of Course that will end on Thursday, July 31st at 1:24pm ET when the Moon moves into Scorpio. During this time emotions may feel flighty and ungrounded. It is best not to make major decisions about things as you might make permanent decisions based on temporary feelings that are not very grounded.

At 10:41am ET Chiron in Aries goes retrograde at 27°, starting a long retrograde period that ends in January 2026 when the centaur/asteroid body goes direct at 22°. With Chiron's retrograde ALL of the energies (Saturn and Neptune) in Aries are retrograde, which means our ego, as well as our courage, are about to go inward. Literally, people who thrive on their ego and who lack internal courage will double down on both. Expect a rise in psychotic behavior as the inability to get what the ego wants literally drives some people crazy.

But for many of us this is going to be a period of deep reflection. What does it mean to live with an elevated ego, to be motivated by higher ideals and outcomes?

And finally, at 11:57pm ET Venus moves into Cancer. As she spends her last day in Gemini our minds - during a Moon Void of Course - is grappling with what it means to be valued by others.

Put all of this today for today, and it's a wonky day of trying to find your footing, trying to figure out where you belong in this world, and what is this highest action to take.

From now until January, when Chiron goes direct and Neptune reenters Aries, expect that you will wrestle with your ego, and the ego of others. But it is all for a higher purpose, and to move humankind to a consciousness we haven't been in a very long time.

Open Heart

What does it mean to have an "open heart?"

A former Teacher said the heart is where wishes and dreams are stored. That the heart is the Northern Star that the Soul connects to, and that it manifests itself in our values and integrity.

That energetic definition is important today as the heart is VERY open today. The heart is open to being expressed and honored; to being considered and recognized. For many of you your heart has paid the price to what others consider your duty and obligation, or what is "right" for you.

Today there is much opportunity to examine where your heart has accommodated others first as the Moon in Libra opposes the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries. And as we end this day (at 11:58pm ET), we enter a 37-hour Moon Void of Course. Much more about that tomorrow.

Find a reason to open your heart today. Open to a long ago wish, or a dream you had as a teenager that can now be expressed more "maturely" as an adult. The purity of what that heart felt is as valid now as it was then, and for many of us, NEEDED now more than ever.

Meh

(Pardon the short post today. I cut my finger on Saturday night and typing is a challenge right now.)

Many of us will accept feeling "meh" about something or someone because we come from places of wounding or trauma. Literally, feeling "meh" about something or someone doesn't "hurt" per se.

Today your mind comes to realize that isn't very factual. As a matter of fact it is a way of avoiding a realization that something does not bring you happiness or joy anymore.

Today the teaching from the cosmos is stop trying to turn "meh" into "yeah!" It doesn't work that way.

Making Opinions Your Belief

Most of you know I am a Contributing Astrologer at SiriusJoy.com. That experience there has tested me on levels I can't even describe.

One very personal test is reading comments about me. Certainly it's nice to read things that are nice and positive. But then come the comments that are not so nice, and sometimes pretty harsh. But the worst are the comments that compare me to other Astrologers.

When others comment on who you are, whether that be your looks, skills, personality, opinions, etc., it takes a lot to realize someone's opinion doesn't need to be your opinion. And that is the teaching in today's Sun and Mercury placements in Leo.

The Sun is 3° and Mercury (rx) at 12° Leo. The net 3s here deal with the energy of "belief." In Leo it's what you believe about yourself, and how it shifts what you think and say about yourself. Literally, what you decide to take to heart about yourself.

Today I encourage you to keep the idea of "perspective" in mind. Those people who compare me to other Astrologers have valid perspectives for who they are and their experiences. It doesn't take away from who I am. And the same holds for you.

Often times these things are just tests encouraging you to dig deeper into knowing and believing in your Self. Because if you don't, why should anyone else?

Love Doesn't Ignore

There's a narrative out there that suggests to truly "love" someone you must put up with their bullsh*t; or better that you understand the pain that is causing said bullsh*t.

On this Sun oppose Pluto day after a New Moon let's address this.

I saw a graphic recently that reminded me: just because your pain is understandable doesn't mean your behavior is acceptable. Sometimes someone's pain will spill over into your world. And while that in itself is not an indication that you should leave the relationship, it does mean you must disconnect from their pain in order to not be taken down by it.

I think this was once called "tough love," a place where you love yourself as equally as others. You do not allow yourself to be come victimized, disrespected, played with, or taken advantage of. It means when you say NO you are doing it from a loving place. One that still sees the humanity in the individual (or situation) without allowing the "devil" they are creating to get a stronghold.

Yes, this is a tricky dance, but much easier today given that the Sun is opposing Pluto in Leo (the sign of the heart), and at 2° a degree that reminds you of your feelings.

You can be a badass that takes care of Self while at the same time a loving compassionate angel that's there for others, without subjecting yourself to pain and bullsh*t.

Feeling The Love - Regardless

There are times when we are called to love because love is the only solution. Love is the only answer, the only way out.

Love never requires that we stay in situations that are less than loving, or that we sacrifice our love.

Love is the remedy even when you must leave a relationship or a situation.

I'm not waxing poetic here. I'm offering up that it is possible to love others even when you disagree with them, or they are creating situations you can no longer be a part of. A former Teacher of mine used to say that sometimes she had to love someone, but "over there." Meaning put distance between them.

At 3:11pm ET we will enjoy the 2° Leo New Moon, one that is encouraging you to feel the love, even when you can't. This New Moon will oppose Pluto in Aquarius, and trine the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries. It's as though God Universe is saying that love as you go thru situations with others. But it doesn't mean that you have to stay in the situation.

Sometimes it okay, and necessary, to love someone ... but "over there."

Self-Respect

In my early career days I worked for a Japanese man who taught me the art of the "bow," a form of respect many cultures understand (and that I think would do us good in the US to adopt). I combined his teachings about respect with what my Elders taught me as a child, and it revealed this: respect of others can't be "forced," instead it reveals the degree of respect you have for your SELF.

Self-respect is necessary for any group to thrive, whether that be a company, community or country. Self-respect is necessary, and something to help others find within themselves. Literally, self-respect is a good idea; a revolutionary one when used constructively.

That is the teaching in today's alignments, that self-respect is necessary in order to stay aligned with your integrity, to keep powerful people and/or distractions at bay, and to fend off those who would manipulate you.

Self-respect, and respect of others, doesn't require that you sacrifice or give up a necessary part of you. On the contrary, it builds you up as it builds up others.

And lest you think that self-respects equates to over inflated ego or ego self-importance, that's where those special Grandmas and Grandpas come in. They'll let you know when you've gotten just a little too big for your britches!!!

Welcome To Leo!

Tuesday - July 22, 2025

The Sun moves into Leo at 9:29am ET and starts its 30-day tour of the sign of the heart. But this will be a different Leo season.

Expect that the Leo Lion will be much more quiet. It will focus its energies on watching and observing, and removing itself from the unruliness of the jungle.

Enter its domain uninvited and it will quickly let you know about the boundary you have crossed. Leave peacefully and the Lion will let you be. Continue your invasion and the Lion will protect its space: quickly and efficiently.

This Leo season will not reward useless and vanity-laden flash and sizzle, or loud shouts of "look at me." This Lion wants refuge from the noise and distractions, and instead will go within, keeping itself close to those people and ideas that matter most.

During this Leo season do not mistake the loud roars and voluminous cries that some will make as indicative of a worthy heart.

Because during this Leo season the worthy heart will not shout. The power of its quiet but deep heartbeat will enchant want it wants; and will want what it enchants.

Emotional Void

This Cancer season has been one of the strangest that I can recall. We have been walking thru an "emotional void," and it is still to be determined how many of us fare.

This emotional void has forced (word used on purpose) us to find our own source of emotional "center." For some that has been their faith, others their inner knowing, and others it became some external source such as family, a teacher or mentor, or in many cases a political party.

Today as the Sun finishes its tour of Cancer (goes into Leo July 22nd at 9:29am ET), there is a pretty substantial square between Venus in Gemini and the Nodes in Aries/Virgo at 19°. I see this as one last opportunity to find an internal emotional "north star," lest you become sucked up into the emotional void of something external. This isn't to say that the external doesn't have anything valid to offer, but be careful what you allow to enter your emotional "inner sanctum."

And it's okay to walk thru an emotional void. Sometimes it's the only path available to the thing your heart truly desires.
