I can definitely see Sasuke having OCD. I feel like he would have a lot of mental compulsions, ruminate, always keep the Uchiha compound spotless, and have a lot of intrusive thoughts. I feel like a few years after Shippuden when him and Naruto have had time to reconnect and get closer, Naruto notices odd things Sasuke does.

Every once in a while, Naruto swears he catches Sasuke counting under his breath. Sasuke denies this and tells Naruto he must be imagining it and to get his head checked.

Sometimes he doesn’t hear from Sasuke for months, then suddenly he’s on the awning outside the hokage’s office. Naruto always rushes to the window to open it and let Sasuke in, but Sasuke just looks him up and down, asks a dubious “…you’re okay?”, and when Naruto affirms, he’s gone again. Naruto doesn’t understand it, it’s not as if anyone could hurt him, but he likes that Sasuke feels the need to check in on him.

Overtime Naruto notices the twitch. Naruto knows the look, he’s seen that look take over Sasuke since their first fight. First Sasuke starts staring past everything, and then the eventual twitch. It’s subtle, almost as subtle as The Look, but Sasuke moves his head just a little, as if he’s trying to hide it, and his head will twitch 3 times. After Naruto notices, he keeps asking, and Sasuke keeps evading, until eventually the actions change. It’s not always a twitch anymore, sometimes Sasuke taps one foot on the ground, and then the other, or taps his knuckle to his forehead, and one time he even snapped, all in successions of three. Eventually Sasuke confesses that he gets caught up in his head, and the twitching helps him refocus. Naruto says it’s kind of cute, to which Sasuke stares at him with a look that Naruto struggles to discern. The twitching becomes the norm again.

Naruto Uzumaki

☆ Naruto would definitely be more cautious with his partner because he wouldn’t want to upset them or cause them to overthink things he’s done or said, most things he does have no rhyme or reason. However if you start overthinking something he said he’ll happily explain it and give you all the reassurance you need. ☆

☆ He doesn’t want to put you in a situation that would make your anxiety worse, for example if you don’t like public or crowded places, he’d go out of his way to make sure no one touches you or gets too close and if you need some space to calm down he’d take you to a less busy area. ☆

☆ The first time he saw you have a panic attack, he kinda panicked himself and was unsure of what to do. He’s had panic attacks himself but you’re not him, so he just awkwardly kneeled down to your level and gently rubbed your back, helping you take deep breaths. He always wants you to be comfortable and feel safe with him. ☆

Sasuke Uchiha

☆ You never liked germs, the thought of getting sick made your skin crawl, you’d always been told it really wasn’t that serious but to you it was. You had to always wash your hands before touching anything and wash them after, there have been times when you scrubbed your hands red. It was more than just the hand washing though, it was having to immediately change if someone touched your clothes. ☆

☆ Sasuke never really noticed your obsessive behavior until you moved in together, he noticed how you religiously washed your hands and cleaned everything single thing you touched, at first he thought you were just a clean freak until he saw how red your hands would be after every time you washed them. He didn’t want to bring it up but he finally decided enough was enough when your hands bled from the extreme washing. ☆

☆ There have definitely been times when you weren’t able to wash your hands and it made you panic, you were rubbing your hands together to try and get the same feeling you get from washing your hands but it wasn’t enough. You practically curled in on yourself trying to stay calm but it was no use, Sasuke noticed your behavior and carefully placed his hand on your back, not wanting to trigger you further. He opened his backpack and had hand sanitizer and gave you some, he’d started carrying it just in case something like this ever happened. Not that he’d ever admit it. ☆

Gaara

☆ He truly tries his best to avoid putting you in situations that’ll cause you to be anxious or cause a panic attack but sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way, as the kazekage he has to attend a lot of meetings that have lots of people in attendance as well so it’s often overcrowded and overstimulating. You know these type of events make you anxious but you decide to grin and bear it for your boyfriends sake. ☆

☆ When you inevitably get overwhelmed at these type of things he keeps you close to him because come hell or high water he won’t leave you alone if you start feeling like that. He’d do the small things like keeping a firm grip on your hand to make you feel safer and more secure or placing his hand on the small of your back so you don’t get separated. ☆

☆ He’s seen you have panic attacks before and it makes his heart ache every time, he doesn’t want you to feel alone during times like this but sometimes he understands that’s just what you need, time to decompress and calm down yourself. Even if it hurts to step away for a few moments he’ll do whatever he needs to help even if he’s not directly involved.☆

▸       is your muse tall    /    short    /ㅤaverage ?ㅤAs an adult Itachi is 178cm (5'10''), which technically makes him tall-ish. Relatively speaking, though, it's easy to think of him as not-tall for a few reasons. One, on account of being a prodigy and flying through the shinobi ranks, Itachi was usually always partnered with taller people because he was so much younger than them. Two, during Akatsuki days, he's always standing by Kisame's side so it's easy to think of him as un-tall, by comparison. And three, and relatively speaking, Itachi is actually one of the shortest Uchihas.

▸       are they okay with their height ?ㅤHe is! He's never really bothered to be in the company of people who are taller or shorter than him. In fact, one thing in particular Itachi thinks is amusing is how Sasuke went from being the tiny grumpy bundle he carried around everywhere to actually growing up to be a few centimeters/inches taller than Itachi.

▸      what’s their hair like ?ㅤA shade of deep black, long, straight, usually kept on a loose ponytail. In peaceful verses, it's very soft and silky and shiny, because Itachi takes good care of it (the whole routine of shampoo + conditioner + serum). During Akatsuki days, this is harder because, one, it's hard to find a place to shower as it is and let alone to properly wash the hair, and, two, it's even harder to have a healthy hair in general when you're literally dying slowly.

▸     do they spend a  lot of time on their hair     /    grooming ?ㅤSee the previous answer! If possible, Itachi does like to properly care for his hair and hygiene in general. That said, it's not necessarily for the sake of appearance - more like, having a strong obsession with order and cleanliness because of subclinical OCD symptoms, Itachi always prefers to have everything looking pristine and perfect, including himself.

▸      does your muse care about their appearance   /   what others think ? Again see previous answer lmao. More than caring for appearance, Itachi cares for himself to be/look properly presentable and put together (to which being raised to be the next Uchiha clan leader also contributes). As for what others think, it depends. If it is a stranger or somebody he's not close with, he usually couldn't care less what their opinion is. On the other hand, if it is a loved one, Itachi values what they have to say. In general, and if it is possible, he does put some care into looking nice for his romantic partner(s).

▸      what are some of your muse’s bad habits ?ㅤExtreme perfectionism, which results in things such as overworking, overthinking, and being obsessive. Also he always wants to have the last word on literally everything. And do we count sass as a bad habit? Because sometimes it does go over the top lmao.

▸      has your muse lost anyone close to them ? how has it affected them ?ㅤYes, starting with his genin teammate Izumo Tenma. Then, Shisui. And then... kinda his entire family and friends and neighbors and whole clan - Sasuke included, even if he was still alive. All of this together has affected Itachi in ways he can't really express, after the Uchiha massacre, because he's supposed to be playing the role of detached psychopath killer. So the only option is to keep the grief and guilt to himself, never truly processing it - also because he still has a mission to fulfill (i.e., eventually die by Sasuke's hand), therefore he cannot be "distracted" with thinking too hard about past choices and what ifs. Said grief and guilt, instead, are expressed through physical/psychological symptoms such as severe dissociation from reality, severe insomnia and, while not causing it, it is definitely something that indirectly worsens Itachi's chronic illness.

▸      what are some fond memories your muse has ? ㅤHaving an eidetic memory, Itachi is able to remember with great detail pretty much every experience he's ever witnessed or lived through. Itachi is also someone who greatly values simple things, such as a nice afternoon spent reading while a friend or family member is doing other stuff nearby, so he keeps a lot of these memories that, in itself, are nothing out of the ordinary but, to him, they are soothing and comforting. For example, we can insert here basically everything Sasuke has ever done, from taking his first steps to pouting at Itachi for having no time to train with him. Also nice memories of calm afternoons spent with their parents, just having a tranquil dinner and sharing conversation. Memories of fun times with his genin teammates and with his ANBU squad companions. Memories of fun times with Shisui and Izumi. Itachi keeps and cherishes all of these, especially during Akatsuki days when, truly, they are the only good thing he has left.

▸     is it easy for your muse to kill ? ㅤPragramtically speaking? Yes, extremely easy. Itachi can kill with the literal blink of an eye. Emotionally speaking? No, and it will never be. Even when he's done it so often and to the people who are (...well, were) closest to him, killing is something that Itachi never enjoys doing and that he always avoids whenever possible.

▸      what’s it like when your muse breaks down ?ㅤ It's very rare that Itachi allows himself to truly break down. He's the embodiment of the I want to cry but I have things to do text post, in the sense that, from a very young age, he's been handling great responsibility towards clan and village alike - and therefore, was always expected to be at his best no matter what. Two other factors contribute to this: one, to Itachi, protecting others comes much easier than being the one who needs protection or is otherwise vulnerable, and, two, feeling and expressing emotions (especially intense negative emotions) is something that can be very confusing for Itachi because he has alexithymia and, therefore, his strategy is usually to just rationalize those emotions and be done with it. When he does break down, he tends to be very quiet and private about it. He may seek a loved one for comfort, like spending time with Sasuke or talking to Shisui or asking his parents for advice - but, more often than not, he will attempt to deal with it on his own and most people won't even notice anything is amiss, because he excels at keeping a stoic facade no matter the internal struggles. This is particularly evident during the Akatsuki days.

▸      is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life ? ㅤYes, and this can be seen from two angles. One, if you are somebody Itachi loves, be it romantic or platonic, then he trusts you with his life by default - because, to him, love and trust cannot exist without each other. He wouldn't give his love to somebody he cannot fully trust (the exception being Sasuke after the massacre, for the obvious reason). And, two, if you are someone Itachi chooses to work with - for example, the members he chooses to include in his squad when he becomes ANBU captain. Kind of the same logic, because, given this line of job, to Itachi it wouldn't make sense to work with somebody he cannot fully trust for everything and anything. A kind-of exception to this would be Kisame, because, even though it wasn't truly a choice, Kisame is definitely someone Itachi learned to trust with his life, as time passed and their bond developed.

▸      what’s your muse like when they’re in love ?���Not that much different than "normal", really, because Itachi is naturally caring and nurturing. When he's in love with somebody, however, this gets cranked up to eleven. Itachi likes to spend time with his crush/lover whenever possible, even if it's just little things like doing the dishes together or cuddling lazily on the couch. He is a giver and he's very attentive to his crush/lover's needs and always provides. In fact, Itachi is the kind to show rather than tell, so, even if he's not really one for big love confessions, he always shows his love through actions such as preparing a nice cup of tea, bringing a blanket when it's cold, offering a shoulder massage after a long day. With that said, Itachi also loves to use affectionate names like "my love" or "my heart" or any other expression that applies to his crush/lover, and he's known to say some very romantic things out of the blue. Maybe the most obvious signal that he's in love with somebody shows in how he likes to just stare at his crush/lover, just sit there and chinhand and stare in awe at how amazing they are even when they are literally just existing.

The more I think about it the more I’m sure I want a cat.

I told my friend about my inheritance and how it could afford me to get a cat, and she got super excited and said she’d 100% be willing to watch it while I’m away abroad. (I’m trying to get into a language study abroad program next spring semester)

I got really scared at the idea of getting a pet because I’m not sure where I’m going to end up after college, but the plan right now is Japan through the JET program. Long term goal is translation, but if I’m going to have a pet I need to be able to take care of it once I have to support myself.

But I crunched the numbers and I think I could easily support a cat with the money I have, and then when I move abroad he can come with me.

JET advises against bringing a pet with you because Japan is strict about animal importation (and they want your arrival to not be stalled by quarantine) BUT if you meet all their standards you don’t have to quarantine <3 

The worst part about living on my own is that I get SO lonely. And my OCD feeds off isolation. So I think if I got a roommate (cat) I’d feel a lot better.

Also I want to name him Sasuke and I think that would be really funny.

I feel like at some point too it would come out that Sakura did in fact know how to cook -not as well but different things- maybe when Sasuke is sick and she wants to actually get him feeling better. And he’d be like delirious with fever like ‘I taught you all this’ and she’d be like ‘no Sasuke; I know how to make soup, it’s like 3 ingredients’ and he’d go on a weirdly hype power trip of teaching her how to do things to later make his life easier (mind you all these are like, non helpful weirdly specific tasks that just tie in to his ocd, we sweep at 12:45 on Wednesdays and deep clean the kitchen at 5:03 on Monday because my mother did it then once). I dunno then one day he comes home and she’s like, completely fixed and renovated a room and he’s just *dazzled* with her because he was just like well that room doesn’t exist for me anymore and she’s like baby you just have to caulk correctly.

Then I’m now thinking they have a weirdly sexually tense Ghost like scene where she teaches him how to caulk properly, she’s behind him guiding him, and he just blurts out ‘marry me’ and she’s like ‘yea okay but you will have to prove your skills to me before we actually get the papers signed. But I have people who can get me papers, like tomorrow, if you want’

And he’s just completely taken and by the end of the week they are officially married at I dunno, let’s say 14 because Sakura has too many office connections their age is not a problem and she is the handy man at home and Sasuke didn’t know that was one of his *things*

desk nin sakura au in which, at like 13, she did too poorly on the physical part of the graduating exam and is given the choice to either repeat a year or to become a desk nin instead of a genin. she picks desk nin because at 13 she can imagine no greater embarrassment then being stuck in a class of 12 year olds and ino knowing she flunked an exam- at least this way she can pretend she wanted to be a desk nin. they're important! they do important work!

it actually turns out there aren't a ton of civilian kids in the desk nin business. if they don't make it as field shinobi they usually just drop out entirely, because they've got family businesses they could go back to instead, you know? most desk nin are from clan families whose family business is being a shinobi, but they weren't a big fan of murder at age 10 or are really big fans of making excel ninja spreadsheets. anyways what this means is they find sakura adorable and immediately adopt her. shes adorable! and shes got the filing system really quickly, how clever!

she gets put in charge of assigning the genin teams their low-ranking missions and gives ino-shika-cho the tora mission like 30 times in a row because she's a teensey bit mad with power. She initially gives team seven really nice missions to try and win over sasuke, but then he keeps showing up grumbling complaints because it wasn't a cool mission that would help him get revenge on his brother...eventually she snaps and starts giving them the tora mission instead. Be Humbled, You Brats!

she gets pissed with the hokage when he assigns team 7 the wave mission btw. and shes mad vindicated when they come back and they're like IT WAS A DISASTER. IT WENT TOTALLY ABOVE OUR PAYGRADE. she's like YEAH thats why PROFESSIONALS assign the missions not some old man whos trying to dote on his loser not-grandson!!!!!!

she uses her desk nin resources to find out where sasuke lives (forgive her the sins of being an unhinged 13 year old) and starts going to his house to bring him dinner half the week. shes not a great cook. at a certain point he takes over cooking duties and shes just there to hang out? and it takes him a month to be like. did i get tricked into dating sakura

Bone(s) to pick with Motonari's route

Let me start it off by saying that IkeSen is my favorite otome game ever. Hell, it might be one of my favorite games, period. All the routes I have gone through were great in their own ways. I have taken a long break from games, and the first one I came back to was, as you might guess, IkeSen. I have stopped playing right when Motonari was introduced (ENG), so I was rather excited to see I came back to his route already being there, so of course, I dove right in.

You know, we always joke that all these boys have trauma MC has to fix; all these suitors are good people that had a lot of bad things happen to them. Motonari is different. He is a bad person who had a lot of bad things happen to him. He is a scumbag, and he is perfectly aware of it, nay, he is absolutely at peace with that thought; and I think that is genuinely great. It is not a Kenshin who is a misunderstood villain, it is not a Kennyo who knows he is doing bad things, but believes his reasons are important enough to explain them, and maybe repent. Mouri is a scoundrel because it is the only fun way to live, and that is an important distinction from others.

There is no sympathy for the devil here, Motonari is straight-up evil, he has a corrupt moral code which is obviously very different from MC’s. (which is very entertaining to explore in the Spark of Love and Captive Hearts gacha stories, his shitty morals from his own POV are a treat) We finally have a suitor on our hand that MC won’t understand by just digging her way to his heart. All she digs up are the (legitimate) reasons for the way he is, that is it; there is no heart of gold to be found deep down there. This Mr. Twister really shines through as the dickhead he is in others' routes. (I was absolutely enamoured by him in Sasuke's route, like yes, go, Joker looking ass, do your thing, king) There is literally no room for "eh, maybe he is just a bad boy with a heart of gold".

This brings me exactly to the reason this route left me somewhere between “confused” and “frustrated”. There are no touching (see what I did there) points between these two, no way they would find common ground. Yet just 2 chapters before the Epilogue, all of a sudden Motonari has a change of heart because MC is hot ig idk™️ . There was no slow and non-linear build-up to his change like there was with Kenshin, for example. Mouri just decided he loves MC now for some bloody reason, he goes from treating her like a dog to like the love of his life in a snap, losing all character integrity. There is no chemistry there, as I said, these two literally are opposites and not the attracting ones, but the facing-absolutely-different-directions ones. Their "bickering" was more like serious warranted disagreements and actual fighting, there was nothing cute about them constantly arguing. It is like we were just given a very good character study instead of a route, and at the end someone went “oh shoot, the romance!” I did not “believe” MC throughout the whole thing either, she excused some of Motonari’s most questionable behavior (even at the very damn beginning!) solely because of his physical attractiveness, that is it. I guess the power of horny “fixed” the man! (AND his OCD! Which is a separate reason for my frustration altogether)

I am just angry that MC went through no transformation of her own, I guess. I think that would have salvaged the route in some way. Just for reference, to describe what I mean, I’d say Nobunaga’s and Masamune’s routes are two very good examples of MC and the suitor learning from each other. In Motonari’s route, however, MC just fully drags Mouri into her mindset (again, with no effort, blink and you’ll miss the point it happens) without making a single step towards him. Imagine how cool it would have been if we finally got a Bonnie and Clyde instead of a Beauty and the Beast? (shoutout)

That brings me over to my last point. Do you know who had chemistry, unlike MC and Motonari? Do you know whose convictions were different but on the same axis? Do you know whose bickering was fun? Kicho and Motonari. (At first I was like, haha, Motonari and Kicho as a joke, but bro, I don't think it’s a joke anymore) Yes, I am dead serious. I consciously acknowledged that I sensed that whole dynamic being delightful and making sense during the scene where Mouri smokes in front of Kicho. I legitimately felt like I had to make MC leave the premise to give the two the privacy they clearly needed. Motonari and Kicho are those aforementioned opposites that attract, and I realized how little sense Motonari made with MC only thanks to these two guys' electricity being there for contrast. They are similar enough – there is a reason Kicho did not hire Motonari and Motonari did not hire Kicho – they were partners in crime, equals; yet different enough to disagree, while still doing the same thing. They just did it for different reasons, whereas MC was busy with something from a completely different field, and of course, for reasons absolutely disconnected from both of the men. Both are extremely smart, but Mouri is hot-headed and Kicho would give Elsa a run for her money, Motonari is quick and cunning, and Kicho is careful and calculated. These are polar opposites that attract. Just imagine if all this was cut from this couple and applied to MC and Motonari instead.

I just felt very disappointed by an unchanging goody two shoes, genuinely infuriating flowerhead MC and the weakest relationship writing I have seen in IkeSen yet.

Naruto (Part 1 - Team 7)

Man, I’ve got strong opinions on some of these *cough* Kakashi *cough*, but some of the others I’m flexible about. It depends on the story you’re telling with the character. These are the ones I have for the canon/near canon of the Naruto show itself (incl. Shippuden, but not Boruto). Here goes... something:

Naruto Uzumaki gives off so much bi energy, with the way he falls hard for both Sakura and later Sasuke as well. He’s a cis boy who uses he/him pronouns, and wouldn’t realise you were talking about him if you used any others. He’s biromantic and demisexual (asexual until he has a deeper emotional connection with someone). He’s also definitely an ADHD kid, and would have been diagnosed rather quickly if he’d tried at any point. His mind jumps from topic to topic, and can’t concentrate on anything if he’s not hyperfixated on it at the moment.

Sasuke Uchiha is very much gay. He is so gay, extremely gay. The gayest. At no point does he show any kind of attraction towards Sakura, or any other woman, but Naruto on the other hand. It’s obvious that he cares, but he doesn’t want to care. He’s probably demiromantic and demisexual, since it took him having an emotional connection with Naruto before he actually fell for him. He’s a cis man who uses he/they pronouns, not really caring which people use more. There is a chance he is autistic or OCD, given his obsessiveness in hunting down Itachi, but I haven’t thought about that one enough to really be sure in any way.

Sakura Haruno is probably bi, with a preference towards men. She seems to be greyromantic bisexual, and fell for Sasuke immediately. It took her a while longer to fall for Naruto, and she didn’t realise that what she felt for Ino was a crush until they were already very close. She could be read as either cis or trans, but honestly I see her as a cis woman most of the time. Definitely she/her pronouns and would get angry at anyone who got it wrong (which probably wouldn’t happen unless she was trans).

Kakashi Hatake. Oh boi do I have a lot to say about Kakashi. He’s my favourite character in the whole show, and the only reason I kept watching in the first place, so there’s definitely some projecting going on here. First and foremost, Kakashi is aromantic and asexual. At no point in the show has he shown romantic or sexual interest in anyone. By the end of it they are one of the few people who doesn’t have a love interest whatsoever, and that is perfect for them. They’re a good example of the fact that aroace people can still enjoy sexual media, although I’m quite certain he reads Icha-Icha for the plot (why else would spoilers bother them so much?). Next up, gender~ Kakashi is transmasc (afab) and bigender, fluctuating between male and agender. They use he/they pronouns, although which they prefer over the other fluctuates between the two depending on which of them he’s feeling at the moment. Kakashi being transmasc is barely disproven by canon (only two filler episodes show him shirtless, other than that he is always wearing his ‘binder’) and some moments definitely feel like they’re feeding the headcanon. Kakashi is autistic. He isn’t good at social interactions, and he’s bad at showing his emotions correctly. The mask is likely to block smells so he doesn’t get overstimulated as easily. Their extremely quick progression through the ranks shows that their special interests are likely fighting-based. A lot of autistic people hold rules in extremely high regard, as we see young Kakashi doing. Him joining the ANBU was likely a way to find strict routine, and it’s once again evident that he’s extremely dedicated to it. Once he found the Icha Icha series, that became one of his special interests. Later we can see that he’s always late, because his routine of visiting the memorial stone is extremely important to him. Also his dogs! They’re his comfort animals, and Pakkun especially seems like he knows how to calm him down when he’s stressed. It’s quite probable that Kakashi is ADHD as well. Given the small tidbits we're given of Sasuke's house when Kakashi visits before meeting the three for their first meeting, it's clean and orderly in contrast to Naruto's, my guess is simply because Fugaku and Mikoto were strict in that aspect, wanting to pass good habits onto their sons to keep cleanliness as a virtue. It leads to the potential that Sasuke may have some sort of OCD when it comes his cleaning routine. If it's not cleaned by him, it needs to be re-done until he's satisfied or he'll take care of it himself.

What mental conditions does Kakashi exhibit in Naruto?

“OCPD

This one isn’t as serious, nor is it verified as solidly compared to the others. It’s more of a head-canon if you will. It’s kind of like a less extreme version of OCD (which is a mental illness, you can read up on it if you want). OCPD isn’t a mental illness, though, it’s a personality disorder.

Admittedly, it’s less prevalent now that he’s older, but as a child, he was naturally OCPD-like.

Here are the characteristics of OCPD and how Kakashi exemplifies them:

I don’t think it takes a genius to figure this one out. Kakashi keeps himself to himself and has the tendency to bottle up emotions (which is why we see him shut down when he’s emotionally rattled; he can’t take it — e.g. the fight with Obito).

As a child, Kakashi was abrasive and rude to others. While he was popular because he was a good shinobi, he formed little to no close relationships.

The only close relationship he currently maintains is the one with Gai.

We’ve already been over this.

During his childhood years, Kakashi was quick to anger when it came to Obito, and was frequently making indignant or self-righteous comments towards the other boy (e.g. putting him down for being late).

Kakashi also displays the tendency to push people away. In his ANBU years, despite Gai pestering him constantly, he was alone for most of his life.

I’m not so sure about the perfection part here, I feel it’s not as pronounced. However, we do see he’s naturally hardworking (as seen when Gai notices Kakashi works just as hard as he does, but doesn’t flaunt it as much) in his childhood, though he’s more laidback in adulthood.

Here are the symptoms of OCPD:

I have only seen one case of this, but it struck me as so odd I had to write about it. Actually, this was what made me headcanon that he has OCPD.

In Boruto, we see him offer to peel an orange for the A, the old Raikage. After five minutes, we see he’s meticulously peeling off the pulp from the orange, and the other Kage make fun of him. A gets irritated and just eats an orange whole, peel and all, while Kakashi continues to insist that he has to “peel it right” or something along those lines.

Kakashi was naturally formal in his childhood, so much that his superiors often commented he acted more like an adult than a child (we hear some chuunin complaining he’s creepy).

Kishi wanted to give him a formal appearance, actually, so he did consider making Kakashi end all his sentences with “gozaru” or something along those lines, which I think is an extremely formal way of talking in Japanese?

Kakashi is nothing if not a cheapskate. His bedroom is completely bare, he only has the essentials, and…

He cheats Yamato/Tenzo into buying meals for him.

Yes, yes, I know, this is anything but Kakashi. However, as a child, he had an obsession with being early. He was always on Obito’s case about it. I think he only started being late for everything to honor Obito’s memory.

It’s what makes him good in battles. He notices pretty much everything.

Look at his room. Just look at it. There’s not a hair out of place. He also appreciates the cleanliness of Sasuke’s room and is put off by the dirtiness of Naruto’s.

He hasn’t stopped following rules. He’s just stopped following the shinobi rules and started following Obito’s rule. That’s why he obsessively repeats: “Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum.” He’s just fixated on a different rule to base his life off of.

Moreover, he thinks to himself during his assessment of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura as a genin team (whether to pass or fail them): “Am I still too obsessed with my rules, Obito?” or something along those lines.

🍎 : how stable is my muse’s mental health? have they been diagnosed with any mental illnesses and / or conditions? do they have any undiagnosed mental illnesses and / or conditions? do they or should they attend therapy?

Sasuke’s mental health is a topic I feel others have covered better than I can or ever will. I wish I had saved posts that I have read regarding his mental health and trauma, to reference but I didn’t. SAVE STUFF PEOPLE. TT.TT

I will try my best, but to not go off on some tangent I’ll focus on answering these questions primarily. In a way this will be ‘in a nutshell’ kind of post’. 

Anyways to begin Sasuke’s mental health is not stable, not by a long shot. He’s gone through various traumatic experiences. Will it ever be stable?  I believe he would need care for the rest of his life

The death of his family, the truth concerning his family and Konoha, Itachi’s actions toward him are some of the topics that come to mind regarding what has shattered his mental health beyond repair. Sasuke was eight when he lost his entire family. He was a child, who was still developing mentally and never got the proper care he should have. The people he loved dead in a single night by the one person he admired and loved the most, his elder brother. Then to add more Itachi’s actions such as encouraging him to hate him and become powerful, returning to his life later to ‘threaten’ the bonds he’s formed, putting Sasuke in illusions. Also his experience with Orochimaru who used his unhealthy mental state to manipulate him for his own goals. 

Sasuke has not been diagnosed with any mental illnesses. In the world he lives in, those issues are not really addressed. They are seen more as weaknesses that he needs to get over. Anyways he does have them and I’m not a medical expert on this subject and these come from my limited knowledge and limited experience. Some of the major illnesses I believe he has depression, PSTD, and to extent anxiety and OCD. The depression been there since the loss of his family, the PSTD too developed from that experience and only grew worse as he grew up. He has nightmares are about the death of his family, he hides his pain and sadness behind his anger and quest for vengeance. He hasn’t learned to process his emotions, much less identify them beyond the ones that are useful to him. For instance anger helps push him. In his experience anger  gotten him through his life pushed him to endure and struggle to acquire the strength and power he’s craved to defeat his brother. 

Sasuke does not attend therapy. He needs to. What’s he repressed and suppressed will only continue to negatively impact him. There is a lot he needs to unload and the bonds he has are not prepared or qualified for the amount of baggage he needs to sort through. With that being said, perhaps Sasuke will need more than one therapist. What he has to deal with is a lot for one medical professional to handle I think. Though he will never get this treatment. 

Sasuke doesn’t realize the true extent of the damage his mental health has suffered. Sometimes it is difficult for myself to wrap my head around, because just trying to put all that shit he suffered through in perspective is difficult. Plus there other factors to consider as well, like the world he lives in. The values it upholds in it’s society, the culture and ideals held by people and whatnot. All of that comes into play too.

Itachi flosses his teeth all the time, as well as keeping his nails clean and cleaning his ears. He’s obsessed with this sort of thing, according to Kisame.

Itachi is one of those people who has a bunch of useless facts stored up in his brain from reading random bits of material. He secretly gets excited whenever he knows a useless fact relevant to a conversation.

He has sensitive skin and he gets flushed easily for no reason sometimes. Kisame asks him if he’s blushing or has a sunburn and he’s like “no, it’s just me”. Kisame pities him 

He enjoys watching sunrises and sunsets whenever he is traveling.

He also can actually be picky when it comes to where he sleeps. Kisame always lets him pick where they stay for the night, because Itachi’s sixth sense is knowing whether or not a hotel/ryokan is worth their money.

He has good taste in material things, and enjoys viewing the arts. 

When he was very young (like 5), he got very flustered whenever he was asked to answer a question in class. Kids teased him, but several girls developed crushes on him simply for this fact. As he got older, he became very confident in class, and annoyed people since he knew everything. Total teacher’s pet without even trying. 

Sasuke gave him a sense of responsibility, as well as something good to focus on, so he grew more outspoken and confident in his opinions after becoming a big brother. 

He eats like a dainty little bird. It takes him time to finish his meals, whereas Kisame finishes his in about 20 seconds.

Itachi is all about manners. He even knows obscure proper etiquette, and does everything according to those rules, whether other people know better or not. 

Itachi smells good, probably like hair products. He takes good care of his hygiene. He doesn’t care if a product is geared towards women- If he likes it, he will use it.

He has subtle confidence in himself. He doesn’t care about fitting in, but is shy around others. 

He has a photographic memory, and loves to learn. If he goes out, he reads all the signs.

He does not sleep enough. He is always tired, and either sleeps 2 hours or 12 hours. Terrible sleeping habits.

He is a very cute sleeper too. Needs multiple pillows.

He has PTSD of course. 

He is modest because he thinks that is proper, but also covers up because he thinks he looks unhealthy. 

He has no spice tolerance at all. Will pass out if he eats the food Deidara enjoys. 

He was tidy as a small child, and disliked dirt. When he was around 4, he would cry if his clothes got dirty, and Mikoto would have to assure him it’s not permanent. 

Itachi is a good cook, but sometimes get frustrated if things don’t turn out exactly how he envisioned. (Not quite like that one scene of him with the eggs, but he is a bit of a perfectionist). 

Itachi, like Sasori, has OCD. But these two would never agree on how to organize things. 

He gets panic attacks and has anxiety, but has learned how to deal with it alone. He meditates often. 

He is the member Pain respects the most, and they get along well. They are both very philosophical (and can complain about ailments haha like old people).

He has no alcohol tolerance at all! Will pass out after a few drinks. Kakuzu will down whatever he didn’t finish.

     i know i’ve only had a chance to hint to it now  &&  again,  but sakura in my postwar canon  does  suffer from ptsd  &&  a form of stress induced  ocd,  &&  at this stage she’s barely come to terms with it,  let alone started healing.  as it stands right now:

she has vivid,  incredibly debilitating nightmares,  centered  mostly  around the war,  but including sasuke’s previous attempts to kill her,  tsunade’s coma,  naruto dying,  etc.  many of her nightmares tend to end with her waking up and being violently ill.  

because of this,  sakura tends to skip sleeping if she can get away with it;  she throws herself into her work at the hospital,  with training,  with  anything  she can possibly find to distract her.  she is noticeably sleep-deprived at this point,  and with it comes marked irritability,  which she is deeply ashamed of,  and tries to keep under wraps.

loud noises or bright flashes of light tend to deeply unnerve her,  and she avoids the more crowded sections of the village unless absolutely necessary.  she has difficulty keeping her back to people,  and has developed a kind of intense hyper-awareness and paranoia.

her perfectionism has increased dramatically,  leading to near-hysterical moments where she cannot release a patient because she feels she has not done enough to help them.  her chakra tends to fluctuate when deeply stressed,  leading to her hands shaking during routine exams.  

she’s begun to compulsively wash and rewash her hands,  automatically doing so when feeling pressured or anxious.  she routinely counts herself doing so,  although she’s not fully aware or always cognizant of it.  

she’s plagued by thoughts that her inabilities or mistakes will cost the lives of innocent people,  which she can only abate by aforementioned hand washing and counting.  

if and when she does make a mistake,  she is absolutely self-blaming and ashamed of it.  she cannot see blame as an equal or partial aspect,  and heaps it on herself.  her esteem tends to plumett dramatically when in these moods.

not that it happens casually,  but sakura is  instantly  panicked and defensive if someone puts their hands on or near her throat.  it triggers an immediate flashback,  and she’ll likely end up badly injuring whoever does it.  

she has begun to isolate herself from anything more than superficial or shallow interactions.  while she still spends time with her team and friends,  sakura is markedly distant and even emotionally closed off.  in private,  she is frequently in tears or absolute numbness.  

since information on mental illnesses is so scant at this point,  sakura has no idea she’s exhibiting symptoms for ptsd and ocd,  and feels she is being weak.  she’s full of self-loathing for her mental state,  and is doing her best to hide it.
