I saw a post by @icarusbetide saying that they love the idea of George Washington being a gossiper and I am behind this 100%, but I would like to add for consideration him constantly shipping the people around him. Someone on his staff courting someone? He’s silently praying it works because he thinks it’s cute. If it’s someone he disapproves of, he’s all “oh honey no you can do so much better”. He’s the one subtly trying to “encourage” along certain relationships. His aides are begging him to stop. He will not yield.

Liberty's Kids - BGC

Liberty's Kids portrays the American Revolution from the Boston Tea Party of 1773 to the Constitutional Convention of 1787 following the adventures of Sarah, a Loyalist newly arrived from England, James, a newspaper apprentice supporting the Patriot cause, and Henri, a French orphan who is attracted to trouble. With its thoughtful handling of complex issues, star-studded cast of voice actors, and absolute bop of a theme song, it remains one of the few shows from my childhood that I still enjoy today.

The outfits worn by the three main characters had been on my mind for a while, but an anon ask gave me the push to finally make them. Because they are based on a cartoon, they are not 100% accurate for the time period. Each outfit comes in a child and T-E version. They are in the (retired) Colonial Williamsburg palette in addition to the canon swatches.

Liberty’s Kids Characters Headcanons

James: Makes feather crowns(like flower crowns but with feathers instead)/necklaces

Sarah: Is thinking about cutting her hair

Henri: Has brought multiple wild animals back to the printshop with him, even though he is scolded for it each time by Dr. Franklin and Moses(he snuck a raccoon back to the printshop once, I don’t know how???)

Moses: Writes poetry when he can

Dr. Franklin: Once put a sign up on the printshop window that says: “We can fight at this location, so act wisely”

John Adams: Has used candles to try to set John Dickinson’s coat on fire.

George Washington: Has a wolf puppy as an emotional support animal(His name is Juno). He cuddles with the pup before leaving his tent.

This pic has taken over my life this April, now I've looked at it too much lol

anyway, here's the print shop and the three amigos, with some detail shots.

I took a lot of liberties (lol) with the layout and architecture of the shop itself. I think its fair, considering that the show took a bunch of liberties themselves when designing their version of the shop. I don't think benji's house exists any more, and the building that was the shop is super small and definitely not enough to actually house people. I think the show must have blended elements of both. With that in mind, I took some limited inspiration from the show and came up with what you see here.

anyway, I can really see how they’d all be best friends, though I feel like Sarah has a lot more sense than Alex would. also, how did john end up looking so pale my god-

So I’ve spent the past, two or so hours frantically googling questions about genetics and using Punnett squares because I wanted to figure out the genetic makeup of potential Sarah/James love children. It’s really fun (I love genetics), and this is what I have so far but I am NOT an expert by any means so if anyone who is far more educated about this than me wants to rip this apart feel free!
