Tyla at the Met Gala 2024, wearing custom Sands of Time gown by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain.

'Transforming the essence of time embodied by the simple hourglass, the Balmain Atelier devised a unique appliqué technique for the gown, which features sand and micro crystal studs pressed directly onto fabric shaped by a plaster cast of the star’s own bodice.'

After Tyla struggled to walk, and had to be carried up the stairs, quick-thinking designer Olivier Rousteing transformed the floor-length gown into a mini dress.
