My acquisition of "Beware of the Dog" by Barbara Tarsikes done in pencils.
I picked this up at the River Art Gallery (www.riverartgroup.com) — at La Villita Historic Arts Village, San Antonio, TX. The artists rotate as the staff of the stores and they have quite the selection of items from prints, originals, sculptures and jewelry.
Artist's bio on the ComicArtFans page as an additional image.

Even though I really did not enjoy my time in San Antonio, this is still one my top favorite images that I have ever taken. Life is funny like that isn't it?

Fiesta Market Square at San Antonio, Texas, August 31, 2023. Photo pictured by Laprensatx on Instagram. @laprensatx
San Antonio was established as a borderland with multiethnic influences coexisting within itself by the people with environmental aspects that built the physical culture, language, events, traditions, and spirit.

This isn’t AI - what makes it kind’a ugly is all those pre-fab, special effect brushes I used trying to make it look like a photo. This thing is on the River Walk in San Antonio and I’m slowly becoming more and more obsessed with it. I photographed it like twice then lost the photos like an idiot then wanted something that looked like a photo that I could have the rights to. Because you guessed it - I’m writing another stupid internet article, and I needs something cc.

I live in San Antonio. When I say, The River, I mean the San Antonio River, a non-navigable stream that can, depending on the rain and location, range from 5′ to 30′ deep. It flows bottle green and innocuous through downtown, where flat-bottomed barges carry tourists eating dinner, lined with gardens, restaurants, shops, hotels, gardens, plazas, and businesses, fished in by kingfishers, herons, and egrets, home to ducks and watersnakes and frogs and crayfish that most of the tourists walking past them never notice. It flows past the Zoo and through parks, past missions, and mills, and car dealerships and apartments and theaters. And when the floods come (and the floods will come) they close the floodgates and open the tunnel and close the straight part of the river and people keep eating on the Riverwalk along the bend where the most expensive properties are.
In 1927, it almost washed away downtown. Businessmen wanted to pave it and turn it into a sewer. A handful of well-to-do white women wanted to turn it into a linear green space and perpetual recreation space. The women won, and the city has never regretted it.
Always vote for flood engineering that preserves green spaces.
i’m curious which river is “the river” for you guys? for me it’s the rhine
