So excited for Samhain!
Im not sure what I am going to be doing, as my family doesn't celebrate the holidays I do, and this is my first year celebrating Samhain. I might make soup! Cock-a-leekie soup is a family staple, and Scottish in origin (As well as French technically, but still), and my favorite dish ever.
For other things, I have no idea! I made a spell last night for motivation in my studies, and the Hunter's Moon carries over to Samhain, so maybe Ill do more Full Moon spreads, and maybe make another spell!
Feel free to reply with more Samhain festivities you would like to share also!

October Witch Tip #3
October is the month of the year when the energies urges us to continue declutter our lives – physically, emotionally, spiritually.
It’s also a great time to work with ancestral magic, divination and ambition magic.
October is the most magical time of the year, as we approach the pagan sabbat Samhain (October 31st).
Samhain is a day of powerful intuitive wisdom and an opportunity to connect with spirits and ancestors. It’s also the perfect time to align with our witchy sides, because October, Samhain, and Halloween is the season of the witch – the time when our magic and intuitive powers are easiest to access.
I thought that I would for this month share some tips on how you can practice during this month.

Growing up, my family always told me that Jack-o-lanterns have scary faces to ward off evil or malicious spirits. I don't know if that's true, I haven't looked much into the history of Halloween since I was younger and there's a lot that I've forgotten, but I do remember that I took the time to memorize the Wiccan Reed when I was a Wiccan. There was one Samhain when I was doing a ritual and reciting the Reed before I started. When I got to the "When the winds blow from the west, departed souls will have no rest," part, I thought that maybe putting a Jack-o-lantern with a scary face facing the west of my house might really help ward off anything bad coming through the veil. I never tried it, I sort of forgot about it after, but I just remembered it while decorating for Halloween, so if anyone out there wants to try it to see if you feel or sense any extra protection, please feel free! 🎃🕯👻
