A/N: I genuinely the actual quality of this since drawing-wise it’s so old and some of the designs (cough cough, Zarina) are outdated (and I had no idea how to draw certain characters like Seth), so keep in mind some inaccuracies and lack of up to date quality lol. If I were to redo this it’d be sm better.

But yeah here it is!! Finally posting it somewhere that isn’t TikTok lol.

Quick drawing of Seth, as I imagine him. Personally, I've chosen to depict him as gharial like, and far less buff than he is in canon, although you can't see that well here- I have taken pains to ensure he doesn't look all that much like Rasticore, as in my version of things, they are unrelated.

Okay, so judging by the existence of the Septarsis-Avarius treaty and how both Toffee and Ludo apparently broke it when Castle Avarius exploded, I'm guessing Septarsis still does, in fact, exist.

What I'm guessing happened is that, after Toffee killed Comet, whoever was in charge of Septarsis at the time (Seth?) signed the Mewman-Monster Accord and gave into Mewni law, which would go onto incriminate both Toffee and Rasticore. They would no longer be under protection of Septarsis and instead be outlaws by decree of the Magic High Commission. So essentially, Moon waltzed into Septarsis and made sure they sold out everyone involved in her mother's murder to the Magic High Commission.

Moon didn't destroy Septarsis: she subjugated it then turned it against Toffee.

I don't make a habit of looking at QaAs, when it comes to fandom I far prefer to draw from canon material, I'm guessing you have a few disagreements with what Daron Nefcy has to say about the show

yeah...

she said toffee's ENTIRE motivation was to get his finger back... like cmon. he existed and had goals before moon chopped off his finger. at most it was a bonus.

seth is both alive (some other guy involved in production can't remember who) and dead for a long time (daron herself)... can't be both guys. something is up with the production of this show.

toffee is a historian??? and that's how he knew about the whispering spell?????? like... there's so much more interesting ways he could've learned it than... "idk he found it in a book somewhere don't @ us."

just their treatment of monsters in general. like seriously. tell me you don't understand how to make a story about bigotry without telling me you don't know how to make a story about bigotry.

continuing previous point but like. MONSTER CHARACTERS (preferably that don't eat people and are interested in their oppression). fixed your entire story for you. you're welcome.

starco above all else. starco is more important than the literal themes of the show. all questions we answer must relate to starco somehow. STARCO!!!!!

also tom is based on all her ex-boyfriends apparently. (and he's one of the only interesting and developed characters in the entire show. really tells you something about her ex-boyfriends. why'd you let these precious gods among men go daron.)

the worst one for me: just REFUSING to take any interesting risks. no monster characters who are interested in their own oppression, so no research on how oppression affects people. no one comments on star's murder of toffee, so no interesting discussion that paints star in anything but a perfect light. cishet white people on all levels of development, including vas for non-white characters like marco, or people who blatantly use butchered aave like pony head, or racism metaphors like all the monsters. kelly is the only poc voiced by a poc and it doesn't show because she's treated terribly just like all the non-starco characters. just. the worst possible decisions.

so yeah i don't like daron nefcy that much. but i do love the potential svtfoe had, which is why i steal all the interesting elements and play with them like dolls. ha.

And let's face it, most people would just call Seth a poor man's Toffee in hindsight anyways.

tbh, I feel like the idea Seth would've been a better villain than Mina is... Kind of magical thinking. My theory is that people are thinking, roughly, that: Toffee was a good villain --> Toffee is connected to Seth --> Seth would've been a good villain --> therefore if Seth was the villain s4 would've been good.

And the thing there is, S4 had so many more issues than just an underwhelming villain. The pacing sucked, the writing sucked, it focused on the damn love triangle to much, and Seth wouldn't fix any of that and would, in fact, add more problems. For one? He'd come outta nowhere- every main villain in Star vs is introduced by s2, but Seth only shows up in the book that most people watching the show won't have read, and not even in person, to boot. Mina is actually an established character. For another, a monster serving as the villain, at this stage in the show, would pose a major problem for the theme. Monsters starting out as villains was... Fine, I have notes, but if "monsters aren't bad" is a subversion, as it is in the show, you do have to start out making it look like they are, but we're over that now. Making every villain a monster would undermine that, doubly so if the final villain is a monster who is "too radical".

Basically, Seth as a villain make s4 worse, both through the lack of a set up, and through the mangling of the shows themes and additional horrific implications.
