My favorite design is the lion guy, but the one I most want to know more about is the unicorn- I notice a scar across her forehead where a horn would be, what's her story? And, considering the status of unicorns in the Butterfly universe, what's the story behind her people?

^That’s her wearing her uniform. She’s stressed about the pimples growing on her face, she’s never had to deal with them when she had her horn. She’s blaming them on the foundation she’s told to wear but deep down she knows her flawless skin is long gone with her horn she sold.

Disclaimer: it’s been a while since I watched Star vs, so I may have forgotten minor details about Mewni and its various monster races.

There are many types of unicorns. Pony heads and warnicorns, as well as other types of unicorns. A lot of mewmans and even some monsters tend to mistake one species for another despite their distinct appearance and culture.

Warnicorns in particular come in many shapes and sizes, and a few of them fit the description of the unicorn we are all familiar with. To this day these unicorns are coveted by others. While some can maintain their freedom and live wealthy lives, others have to sell their body parts to survive, like their blood(S1e15 - Blood Moon Ball), tears, mane and even their horns.

The most common means of making money is selling their blood and tears, to high class parties(usually hosted by denizens from the underworld) or cosmetic industries.

Some Unicorns regularly cut their hair and sell them to hair salons if they’re particularly desperate for money.

Cutting one’s horn is the most extreme way of getting a huge sum of money, and can easily jeopardize them. They’re giving up their ability to use magic, connection to their species, and longevity all at once, and when their horn is severed from them their immune system gradually weakens. Those who no longer have their horn are shunned by other warnicorns.

Because of their very existence being a rarity they are able to live more comfortably than other monsters. They are also more likely to be targets of kidnapping.

The warnicorn OC sold her magical horn a few years ago. She now works for(and lives in) a huge beauty salon, selling her tears and sweat. She’ll do what she can to have a nice place to sleep in.

This is just a rough explanation of unicorns and her backstory. They might change when I rewatch the show.

*The lion guy is some type of demon, he comes from an upperclass family and annoys Tom a lot.
