Oc's in canon settings that don't make sense. I remember back when I was in thg fandom people tripped over themselves to make sure their oc matched lore. People researched named winners of what games and they like actually gave a damn about making their oc as canon as possible. Without being needlessly rude that is not a thing anymore :)

Get excited: I have a new biggest pet peeve while driving! It is when people are stopped at a red light on a 4-lane road (so two lanes each direction, no turning lane) and the person in the left lane is making a left turn and DOESN'T TURN ON THEIR BLINKER!!!

When joe was in preschool I took the edens to work everyday bc he school was close to it but now I take surface streets the entire way-- actually just one street! The street my house is on! But while it's technically one road, it's actually lots of little roads they've combined into a long road, so you frequently have to turn at a four way intersection to stay on the road, and it's also a residential and business street so there are LOTS of stop signs and street lights, and sometimes it's one lane each direction and sometimes it's two. All fine!

But I have noticed that a LOT of people in the left lane need to make a left turn at a stoplight and don't use their blinker, so you're stuck behind them when, if you'd known, you would have just gone in the right lane and kept traffic moving! I do give myself a buffer almost all the time so if no one is in the right lane i'm able to pull over, but sometimes, especially around New Trier, there are too many cars!

Why don't I just always stay in the right lane to avoid this issue? Great question. As I mentioned, the road has several required left hand turns to stay on the road (in the direction I'm going, I still take the highway home so it's only a one-direction issue for me), and it frequently merges from two lanes to 1, and both of those actions favor being in the left lane. Also, there are houses and businesses and thus parking all along this road, so I prefer to stay in the left lane to give a buffer to people walking and pulling out of parking and driveways.

It's very easy to use a blinker! This is the actual BEST use of a blinker! To indicate you're going to turn from a spot where not everyone wants to turn, so those other people can get out of the way!

Sorry I know I just wrote like a treatise on this but it's really annoying! And I am pretty crafty about it and do use the right lane to go through those intersections as often as possible but you can see people get stuck behind those cars!!! It's an absolutely unnecessary problem!

I know in 2018, the heights are pretty solid in Raph being huge, Leo&Donnie ranging around the same height, and Mikey being the small box turtle.

Anyway. With the Mikey thing, I totally get it.

His sizes is always changing on the screen, but people seem to favor his small moments. There are times when he stands at Leo&Raph’s height, and times when he’s smaller. This pic is a pretty good reference for me bc it has a pretty descent overview of their heights. I usually just go with this when writing bc there are a million headcanons and trying to figure out which one is actually canon is my biggest peeve when it comes to sizes.

My biggest pet peeve with the fandom is people treating Marius like he's stupid. I mean yea, he's a silly little guy and a goofy goober who does crazy shit sometimes. But he's a dumbass, not dumb. He's supposed to be comedic relief, not the butt of all bad jokes. Straight up stopped reading some fics out of spite bc they kept bullying him.

I'm gonna say this and I know people aren't going to agree and that's okay

But I really don't like Mikasa's character. I think she had the potential to be really cool af, but the execution fell flat. I know she's written a little bit better in the Manga (still need to finish it) but here's why I don't like her and how I think it could have been changed.

I understand why she's so attached to Eren, but it's almost obsessive, and the way she treats him feels patronizing. She wants to look out for him because she loves him, but it's in a selfish way.

Examples: as a kid injuring him and then asking him if he still wants to join the Scouts, FORCING him to eat, carrying him away from fights, telling him to stop talking (tho indirectly) when talking about his more negative feelings (shown in s1 and s3).

My biggest pet peeve is the scene where he figures out the ODM gear and Mikasa is like "he's happy he doesn't have to leave me" which is NOT AT All what he was thinking but sure girl project your bs onto him

^ seriously none of that was okay. And yeah Eren had moments where he's rude to her or has hit her bc he didn't reciprocate her feelings. He was treating her like he'd treat anyone else.

Worse of all we never see get any real development. (Least not in the anime. Maybe the Manga does it better) she's still over protective to the point it's almost patronizing and outside of protecting him, she has zero ambitions for herself. You can't even say she let him go when she killed him bc even then she didn't move on!

Now what I would have liked to have seen- and I've seen some fan-work creators take this direction- is for them to have more of a sibling relationship.

Imagine this. Everything still happens mostly the same but her motivations are different. It's a found family/sibling sort of love. She wants to protect him bc he's like a little brother to her.

Because Carla begged her to look after him (which is canon)

And so her motivation for protecting him had been to bc of this. Bc Carla begged her, too. Because Eren is the only family she has left.

(And maybe dialing back some of her obsessive tendencies)

And had both gotten growth? Her learning she doesn't have to always look out for him. That he can take care of himself, and him understanding that she was only doing it bc they're the only family they have left and him accepting her as such?

There's also my personal issue that I don't see any build up or reciprocation on Eren's some until the very end so as you can guess I don't ship Eremika. Any defense you could have like him being protective of her or holding her hand he also does for Armin and Historia.

But people act like him not loving her back makes him a bad person or that he treated her bad for not feeling the same? Just because someone loves you doesn't mean you have to feel the same, no matter what they do for you. And I'm saying that as someone who's been on the other end of that! Also personally if someone treated me the way Mikasa treated Eren I'd personally consider her a bad friend. If I can't talk to you about my morbid and depressed thoughts why are we even friends?

Also, I'm not expecting anyone to agree. If you wanna have a calm conversation about it, I'm absolutely down, but don't come in my chats yelling.

answering this like 2 weeks late so the first part of ur message is so funny out of context LOL sighhh you simply had to be there <3 I don't think I've done enough to warrant a full-on updated tour, but I'll give u the 411 on the bigger changes

here's the previous tour if you need a refresher for the layout, which has mostly remained the same (at least the birds eye view for which/where each room is)

IMO the biggest/most noticeable change (as seen in recent b roll/ask pics) is the addition of these brick columns(?) sorta framing the front door. there was a lot of empty space that was such a lost void to the eyes in screenshots and while the darker wallpaper helped neutralize it, that front area still looked so bare and flat to me. now there's some dimension and #texture and if anything I'm questioning if it looks too busy now LMAO but far better than before

THE DOOR! one of my biggest pet peeves about this apartment was the fkn sad hunk of brown wood ugh like I know it's meant to add to the ~dingy city apartment~ atmosphere, but it just looked so out of place to me like that shit didn't even have a lock tf!! I used TOOL to update all the apartment doors in this building to the dorm ones that came with DU & it makes a lot more sense with the lil peephole, lock, and emergency exit map on the inside. I may recolor it to make it a little more weathered, but I'm defo happier with how it looks now

general furniture changes, as you can probably pick out. I'm switching swatches and swapping things in/out practically every time I open their save so take the specifics with a grain of salt, but I like how things are generally evolving (mainly just filling up dead space). I was torn about getting rid of their projector screen but I stumbled upon the r/TVtoohigh subreddit recently which has made me rethink every TV placement ever in sims And real life LMAO so I wanted something more leveled with their couch. speaking of, upgraded them to a sectional finally. adulthood!!

I made their kitchen 1 square shorter length-wise so I could flatten out that weird bit between the kitchen and bathroom (if you look at the previous apartment tour, the archway area kinda just juts out and makes this awkward corner by the bathroom door). the extra kitchen space wasn't necessary anyway bc it pretty much looks and functions exactly the same. I moved the fridge to the left because it was partially blocking the window and I always got weird routing issues whenever someone needed an empty counter to cook on, so now there's a designated empty counter for that 🧑‍🍳

I'm phasing out some of the more Loud (for lack of better term) English/real language decor (for example, that silly marihuana poster I recolored) -- definitely not planning on going the full-simlish route, but I feel like some of the wordier pieces can get distracting & I'm trying to be more mindful about what's taking up visual space/attention in screenshots ykwim?? mise en scène or whatever that fuck 🤌 and while I'm trying to piece together a more cohesive/complementary flow decor wise, I also want to be realistic about their ages/tastes -- for example the bella goth pop art piece represents their vaguely trend-forward millennial artistic sensibilities but also their juvenile hornball tendencies don't you think

What is that one set you made that just won’t die? honestly i don't think there is one. my older sets still get notes here and there, but there's not really a set that i still consistently see in my activity years later. HOWEVER, there was one gif i did that didn't die for YEARS until it finally stopped showing up in my activity in like 2019. it's technically not a set, but it's from a time where it was still pretty normal to post one gif on its own. it's this one.

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever giffed? i don't really think i've ever giffed anything embarassing? although i was big into the bughead fandom and giffed a LOT of bughead and am a little ashamed to admit i ever went that hard for them, so i guess i would consider bughead the most embarassing thing i've ever giffed. (to be clear though, some of my favorite sets i've ever done were bughead sets so i'm not embarassed of the gifs. just the content.)

32. What is your favorite tool/adjustment layer in Photoshop? SELECTIVE COLOR. i am a SLUT for selective color layers. that is how i prefer to do most of my colorings. i am really not a fan of recoloring with masks or throwing a color over top and trying to mask and blend it. i prefer manipulating the colors with selective color. if i want the background a different color, nine times out of ten i'm doing it with selective color. i really do not like being able to see the subject of a gif move into the color layers sitting on top of it (it's one of my biggest pet peeves), so i want all of the coloring i'm doing to be within the scene, if i can help it. i also really enjoy the challenge of using selective color. a lot of the time, coloring that way means you have to change certain elements to WILD colors to isolate what you want and color just that element (usually it's separating skin tones from hair or skin tones from everything else, because almost everything always has some red or yellow), and then change the colors back after you're done. to me it's more fun and easier than trying to make sure the colors look good while also avoiding the character moving into it.

Why do you make gifs? i enjoy making gifs. it's a fun creative outlet for me. i love coloring gifs. i think gifsets are a really underappreciated form of art. it's a fun challenge, i get to play around with colors, and i get to engage with a piece of media i really love. and honestly, i'm more creative overall when i'm making gifs than the times i've taken a break from it. i'm always thinking of quotes or new ideas for gifsets and it forces me to view media in a different way than just simply watching it.
