Alright, now I've calmed down a bit 😅 how about some speculating from these quotes...
Now, can they do this 'cementing' with only one Sugden addition 🤔 Or will there be more to come?
Let's think about this one for a bit. What exciting possibilities are there for future storylines really? Say he gets with Aaron, who is in fact the only gay character they have right now. Some drama with Aaron over John being Robert's brother, sure. After that, what multiple story possibilities are there that are specific to this guy being a Sugden? All I can think of is the return of the other brothers...
This quote makes it a bit hard to guess if the returning are plural or not, but we are at the very least talking one return. And since we're in July now, the 'next couple of months' might just span as long as up to SSW. Maybe.
Who might be making a return? No one is on maternity leave this time, so at least we can rule that out.
Diane is a possibility, she would be very nosy about a new son of Jack's wouldn't she? And she would increase the number of Sugdens right away.
I also suppose with Zak's funeral coming up, we could be seeing a bunch of Dingles make at least short term returns. Debbie for sure would come to Zak's funeral, and I think Charley would probably do it.
Other than that, I really don't know. There was talk about Malandra Burrows, and I would be all for that if Robert was here, but he isn't.

@scifichica replied to your post:
Ok, I don't know what this SSW Theory is but now I'm dying to find out because this read was AMAZING.
Haha thank you! I have no idea how to answer this question anymore though because this theory's branched off in so many directions now haha. A brief summary would be that it's basically the idea that each of the storylines at the heart of super soap week (and other connected storylines, too) have come full circle six (ish) months later to move in a new direction and potentially converge again once more. So essentially:
Ashley’s condition deteriorated significantly during SSW, and he has now passed away.
Rhona’s finally seen Pierce’s true colours and their storyline reached its climax, and we know it will end during the summer.
Emma’s been trying to seek redemption for her actions during SSW, but her secret is about to be revealed imminently…
And for Robron, they have been having to face their issues of insecurity / jealousy / infidelity / sexuality / communication and now trust, all brought to the surface by the Rebecca-shaped catalyst, so by extension Robert’s involvement with Rebecca has also come full circle at the end of this cycle which began when Rebecca arrived in the village just a few days before SSW…
But it also brings in other storylines through the characters connected to the SSW storylines, such as Adam / Victoria, Paddy / Marlon / Carly, Harriet / Cain / Moira / Holly, Ross / Finn / Pete etc.
If you want more details on how (and want to read lengthy posts because this theorising is not particularly concise I'm afraid and there have been so many posts I can't even remember them all haha), you can read my initial outline here or my most recent posts breaking down the overlapping themes across each of these storylines here and here. Or you can just check out the tags below as I've hopefully(!) been fairly consistent with them haha.
Hope this helps explain it a little? :)

I swear to God if we were supposed to get a paternity twist after SSW 2017 but didn't then I will blame MP for leaving and everyone else who decided to drag shot out the way they did from autumn 2017 til now and forever. Idc how unfair that it. Or how dramatic that sounds. I have suffered LMAO 🤣😭😭🤣🤣
Lmao anon big mood
#i feel like there was even a way to do a paternity twist DURING ssw 17#like pete isn't a dad after all but ross is!!#surprise!!#i mean it was always a bit suspicious that both isaac and seb were boys#maybe that's why#ed rel#spoilers and speculation#anonymous#ask

Just putting out the “please let Paul be the one that dies” vibes into the universe again before the episode since I won’t be able to watch till later.
I really don’t know why everyone thinks Paul being the one that ultimately dies would be unsatisfying just because it’s not some major twist. With everything that has been speculated this week, would Liv or Vinny or even Jimmy dying feel like a “twist” anymore either? I feel like if it’s one of those three, it wouldn’t really feel satisfying either because I don’t think the story works as well.
With Vinny, they’d be killing off the abuse victim, which seems unnecessarily cruel. I know they just did that on Eastenders but I don’t feel like it would make as much sense here. Plus, does anyone want to watch Paul continue to play the villain or lie some more or watch him in court? I know I don’t. I want this story over as soon as possible.
With Liv, I really don’t feel like there’s enough build up for her to be getting killed off. Sure Aaron is involved now but there’s been no kind of foreshadowing and reflection for her personally as a character and I would think there would be if she was going. And she’s just in the hospital and would probably die without really getting any major last scenes with people the way say a Val or a Ruby did during the helicopter crash. Plus, no one wants to watch Aaron cry for months.
With Jimmy, I really feel like one, it would be a mistake to kill off the last remaining King brother, especially as part of a story he hasn’t been involved in. Plus it would prematurely cut off the story he’s involved in now with Juliette over Carl. I mean sure they could continue that with Nicola and there would be more obstacles but I don’t know that that would be satisfying. I feel like it’s more likely this whole ordeal will be used as another strike against them that they have to overcome.
So unless it’s that random fourth person and that person isn’t Vinny, then that leaves Paul. And even if there is a random fourth person that they decide to kill off, that just feels like subverting expectations just to subvert expectations and I hate when show runners do that. And even still, I’d expect it to be Paul and that person.
I don’t think it’s unsatisfying to kill Paul even though it wouldn’t be “a big twist”. Because frankly, it’s what most people want to happen anyway and we don’t want to continue to have to deal with him. So is getting a twist more important than that? Not to me. Also, there could be a twist in how he dies if it is something like Mandy killing him somehow or another. And lastly, look how much speculation everyone has been doing this week. People are engaged in trying to figure it out and that’s what they want and they’ve succeeded. It’s a lesser story, but it’s the same way it was with ssw 2016. And no one was upset that it was just James in the end. Everyone was just like “wow what a great week, that was so much fun to speculate and my favorites made it out alive and the way James died was great!” I don’t see why this can’t be the same.
And again, who doesn’t want to be rid of Paul once and for all?

Okay, I am confused now. I thought the one hour episode would be in the wekk starting May15th and Maxine's two episodes are on May 25th. So I thought the one hour would be the reveal, because Iain said it shows where the storyline is going or something like that? And then I though, because I am a hopeless optimist, that Maxine's eps would already be the fix it eps. But you posted that Maxine's eps would be the reveal? Do you know that for sure or is that speculation?
Everything I say is just speculation, I know nothing. I’m just trying to figure it out how this event will turn out. So far, we don’t know when it’s the reveal (it may be the one long hour episode or maxine’s double episode).
To me, the reveal will be on week 20 (the one hour special episode) and maybe a break up? (i’m hopeful we get a twist in that episode) .. The make up could be maxine’s episodes - i don’t think that break up will be that long bc of that video that adam posted this week where danny was wearing aaron’s ring (and we know they were shooting early june that week, so.) But like I said, I’m speculating. I don’t know anything for sure.
I also think that this reveal thing won’t be as dramatic as we’re thinking. (According to other theory of mine, all the characters that was involved on super soap week are getting a sort of end to their storylines, all in matter of two weeks. First it was Ashley/Laurel which lasted the two first weeks of april, then rhona/pierce that also lasted two weeks in end of april, now we’re gonna have this next two weeks about emma’s video confession getting out and then we’re gonna get two main weeks of robron. Maybe the week after the maxine’s episodes, will be a close to all this storylines. We also know that there’s rumours of a new storyline for them and also end of may would open a new direction to their relationship. So yeah, i’m overanalyzing again and getting out of the subject of the this question, sorry ! x)

Is super soap week a yearly thing? Because ssw is the first deadline when I expect robert back. If not then nov 1, Christmas, or very shortly after the baby is born. I can be optimistic until approx February when the baby is born
Yeah, it happens every year around mid-October!
I don’t think it would be SSW this year for a return, more likely to be next year. Christmas or New Year would be a good bet, as I’ve seen many speculations talking about a supposed ‘shock twist’ and ‘unexpected surprise’ happening around then too. But nothing is confirmed or set in stone....so who knows?
#anon#tbh with all the lockdown palarver and new restrictions and changing rules#they may well have to suspend filming again#i'm sure the uncertainty is playing into some of the storyline choices and will continue to do so#into next year

Robert may not have been a villain for his exit but characters treat him like one. One thing I'm dreading if he returns is he'd have to prove himself to Aaron again. I don't think that aspect of their dynamic will ever change. He's not the only one in this relationship who's dodgy or makes mistakes but he's the only one who has to ask for forgiveness. He's been way more selfless lately than in the past. But I don't think Aaron can differentiate so he gets angry at him like usual.
You don’t think Aaron’s got a right to be angry right now after being sent divorce papers with no discussion. I know why Robert’s done it and I feel for him as much as Aaron but of course Aaron’s going to be hurt and think Robert’s being selfish initially. It’s been a week. Maybe it won’t change but give it a bit longer.
As for the other characters, right now they’re looking at it from Aaron’s POV and as his family that’s fair enough. Robert cut contact without telling Aaron and that’s understandable from his pov but also very hard on Aaron. Apart from SSW week which was purely plot so I’m ignoring it I can understand where the characters are coming from.
Idk, you’re not likely to get me picking a side because I can see everyone’s reasons and I don’t think he’s being particularly treated as a villain, but maybe that’s just me. As for Robert returning...I’m not up for speculating that far ahead before I’ve had coffee 😏

Also (and I could be me) but I feel like Kara is willing to accept lena having lyrptonite and stuff now but it's too little too late to repair that relationship right now (Lena is justifiably unwilling to accept it). And speaking of out of character lena being written too much as a villain for shock value this season. I honestly think she was better written in the crossover (what little we ssw)
I don't think that at this point in time Lena and Kara can be friends let alone lovers. Not before they have an honest chat and not before they both go to therapy (lol that will not happen but still)
I would be happy with season 5 ending on them having a "I'll help you keep Earth safe" deal because they understand the bigger picture but honestly I don't know what crisis will leave behind. If one has to die to stop the Crisis like I suspect I don't know who it'd be but I'm afraid they will kill Kara and have her be back when all earth's merge. Who knows? Honest to god a good twist would be to have Kara die to stop the Crisis, have her come back but it's not earth 38 Kara. And to have that revealed in the last episode. But this is all speculative hogwash.

I don't think it is that week that they go on the run then, the next week it should be the SSW and so my speculation is connected that while Chas has the child they run away but then Robert stops, he is not told that it is the police at stop them
Maybe! They can feel free to drag it out as long as they want haha. I kinda think they'll make the attempt the same week they decide it's be a good idea, and obviously things tend to happen in those Thursday doubles, but who knows.

Thank you sooooo much for these spoilers lo :) So confused though, i thought baby grace's birth was being saved for SSW? So maybe Lachlan is escaping after all?!!!!
ssw involving chas and paddy was literally just speculation based off dom tweeting that they were shooting big things on location (in the woods i think) - nothing was ever confirmed!
(there’s no guarantee they’ll do ssw, or that the lachlan week wasn’t originally intended to be ssw, even though they could reasonably have done more to promote it lmao - we just don’t know (yet))

Speculation: I think Lachlan will frame Robert for the disappearance of Rebecca and Rob will go to prison until SSW where Lachlan gets killed and Robert is the one to kill him.
I think rob could be the one to finally end him but i dont see him going to jail. Especially since bex disappeared while robert was almost dead.

What is the SSW theory?
The SSW Theory is primarily the notion that all four storylines which converged during Super Soap Week which we so fondly call SSW in October are reaching some kind of climax or coming to some kind of resolution about six months later. It’s the idea that the storylines for each of these couples - Aaron and Robert; Ashley and Laurel; Rhona and Pierce; Emma and James - were given the tagline of “no return” but almost seem to be coming full circle now. We were told back in October that each of these characters would experience “life-changing” and “long-term” consequences from that week, and at the time the predominant assumption was that these consequences would be from the events of that week and the crash itself. But with the SSW Theory, it transpires that it was never really their lives alone which were at stake that week, but rather the direction the events of that week would cause each of them to take. As Emmerdale themselves said that week, “All decisions are final.” I’ll include some links below to previous posts which explain all of this in much more detail, but primarily:
Ashley and Laurel - That week saw Ashley’s condition deteriorate much more significantly, to the point that he couldn’t recognise his daughter Dotty. Now, six months later, Ashley has passed away. But Ashley’s role in SSW also allows progression, and importantly resolution, to each of these storylines - through the fact that he saw Emma on the bridge during SSW and later recorded that incriminating video of her. Arthur has now seen this video, and I now believe his role in this overall storyline was hinted at with his significant presence during Ashley’s episode of that week. And we know from spoilers that Laurel is going to find out about this video, and it’s been strongly indicated that we will see her tackle Emma in some way. Which brings me to;
Emma and James - Obviously we all know that Emma killed James. And she’s spent the past six months trying to hide her secret and atone for it, but ultimately the truth is about to be discovered through Ashley’s video. This will see Emma and Laurel’s storylines colliding once more, but I would also note that the events Emma instigated during SSW were a result of her insecurity and jealousy of, and feud with, Moira. And it’s very much looking like we’re set to revisit that feud again now. And speaking of insecurity and jealousy, that brings me to;
Rhona and Pierce - Pierce’s controlling and manipulative behaviour has been building for a long time, and now Rhona has seen his true colours. Let’s not forget that it was Rhona’s interaction with Paddy which caused Pierce to fight with her during SSW, and it was Rhona’s relationship with Paddy again which initiated the dark argument with the devastating results after their wedding. Although this storyline obviously isn’t being wrapped up altogether within the imminent future, it has reached its climax of Rhona realising the truth. And that brings me to;
Aaron and Robert - Obviously this storyline is not quite wrapping up just yet, but depending on the way it plays out, it has either already reached the climax with The Incident etc or it will do so with the reveal later this month. But effectively, Rebecca arrived in the village the week before SSW and became a catalyst for all of Robron’s issues regarding insecurity / sexuality / jealousy / infidelity to come to the surface. This has been Rebecca’s role ever since, to be a constant reminder not only for Robron but also the audience. Robron have never managed to confront and address these issues fully because during SSW they crashed mid-argument, and during the big fight in January Aaron was arrested. This is why I’m holding out hope that this big “state of the nation” episode will see Robron have a conversation where they can finally face this matter, honestly and openly, without these interruptions. Just over six months after this particular conversation first began. This is also why I believe there is/will be no baby, and Rebecca will soon be moving out of Robron’s storyline (even if not the show itself) in the foreseeable future. Which, again, given her timely arrival four days before SSW, fits to this six month sliding scale the show has created.
There are various posts about this particular theory floating around if you want, and have some time (some of these are quite lengthy), to go back and read them for more details as this is only a summary. I’m sure there’s loads more, but the ones I can think of right now are @itwasjustmisplaced’s initial post about the timing of the storylines wrapping up, and Taryn’s recent post explaining the direction of Robron’s storyline specifically since SSW. @twatcitytrick started a discussion about the SSW promo video so there’s various comments on this post, which then prompted me to break down the video and the way it fits each of the storylines over the last 6 months rather than just SSW here. I was then struck by the parallels in the other promotional media for SSW, so decided to break all of that down too, with a focus on what it all means now. These are all just some of the early analyses of this theory, but I know there has been plenty of further analysis and speculation floating all over since. And the fact that Emmerdale tweeted a SSW promo picture of Robron today kind of just reaffirmed the belief in this theory really.
Ultimately, the SSW Theory is the concept of the storyline arcs for these four character groups having reached a pinnacle moment where we are finally able to understand what those long-term consequences from SSW really are. And there is even the potential, as we’re seeing with Laurel and Emma, that the four of these storylines may converge once more. And this notion of “no return” really might just come full circle to end as it began. Maybe. Waiting and seeing on that one… I hope this all makes sense and helps explain it a bit!

i love you. i love you so much. you're so smart and interesting and thank you for sharing all your thoughts coz it's just wonderful to read them. you're right; that delay and its effects makes so much sense now. i know we're tip-toeing around the speculation, but i just want to say, as soon as MP said that he was originally going to leave last summer, i thought it made sense of his relationship with becky early on and that EH was originally meant to facilitate his exit too. i thought the (1)
(2) pacing of emma’s story and adam wanting to leave was what made him have to stay on longer (and have them promise this rather hashed acid attack sl), which in turn affected the white’s storyline, but now you’ve said this, i’m thinking it’s all starting to make much more sense and tie together (the change on the white’s sl meant emma had to be SSW?). i still think becky and ross will leave together with seb, as i predict was originally intended, but i guess things could have changed since.
Oh man anon way to make me cry!! Thank you so much
And honestly that is going to really interesting to see. I mean I made that post but we won’t know how much it must have daviated from the original plans until this is actually over so honestly I’m just here (im)patentiely waiting. (I too think they’re all gonna leave together tbh or if not then shortly after each other in October)

Read you theory post, loved it!! Love reading all your theories! I can honestly see Rebecca dying because they are planting the seeds of Aaron adopting seb and he can't if Rebecca is alive. Plus the magazine keep saying Rebecca and death. I feel like the feet in the sand of SSW 2016 showed the order the whites will die and showed lachlan overall to show he will kill them. My guess
Hi! Thank you for reading my theory post!
I mean, the magazines always speculate doesn’t mean its true. However, you are right, there are seeds being planted that she might not make it. I am still convinced that either way, after all, is said and done, the Whites will be off the show for good. They served their purpose once Lachlan is taken down.
The ‘Feed in the Sand’ theory does seem to be coming true. I agree. There is no set of feet that aren’t accounted for. I guessed Ross or Belle which before in 2017 it didn’t fit but now...hmmmm...yes...Ross isn’t going to be with us for much longer. So, we shall see!

I totally see all of this except Robert killing Lachlan tbh I think if Lachlan is murdered it will be by someone you wouldn’t expect like Belle or Lydia out of self defence 👀
