Oh, um, hi! English is not my first language so sorry for all the mistakes, and I just wanted to say some cute things i saw in "The Sea Beast" the movie on Netflix. I know it's a little late but I just rewatched it and couldn't live without telling someone about those things I just noticed.

First of all, I'm a little obsessed with Sarah Sharpe so this will be most about her.

Ok, let's go, do y'all remember this scene? Where they all go down on that city before going to the castle? (I forgot the English name for the city since I watched it in Portuguese)

Well, look, Sarah goes first than anyone. (I couldn't find the specific scene but y'know) even tho there are part of the tripulation carrying those heavy horns from the beasts, she still goes first. Before Captain Crow and before Jacob, so, in my little mind I saw this as a way of them to be caring, since she clearly has some problems walking due to the leg.

Cus, like, imagine all the times she would be left behind cus she can't run properly? She probably can, obviously, but it won't be that easy. So, I'm pretty sure its like a unspoken rule to let Sarah go first anywhere.

Also, just imagine the trouble this woman has walking on sand, grass, and anything that would make her leg sink? Poor baby. Y'know, in heels, the heels keep sinking in the sand and grass and breaking and stuff. A easy way to protect yourself from that horror is to step on your toes, but Sarah's leg is only heel, do you get it? I hope it makes sense.

Anyway, one more thing I noticed.

She is like, "the fuck this b* gonna catch me slipping" on that scene. I don't know where she specifically is but, I'm sure this woman is doing her best to not fall. Cus, y'know, her leg doesn't seem to move (I forgot the verb in english) and it is probably complicated for her to get up by her own. And they're being attacked my woman doesn't wants to die today.

Also, funny thing that I had to watch 2-3 times to notice: she also uses swords and knifes, not only the guns. Everytime I though about her, I absolutely believed that she only used shotguns. But watching this scene, I can see she clearly using this sword. (There is any other name for it?)

And, oh, look at her model! It isn't rendered but we can see clearly some important things here: just like I said before, this leg would be the absolutely worst to walk on grass. It has this spikes thing and would easily get stuck, which would cause trouble. also, look! She wears more blue-green than others colors.

If you look well, you'll notice that every important character has its own pallette, and Sarah's is blue-green centered.

Comparing her to Captain Crow, his pallette is more Black-ish with golden.

He has mostly black in his coat, hat, shirt, pants and stuff while my woman wears this pretty blue.

Like, look (sorry for the BAD quality) Miss Merino is more red-ish. While Jacob is more yellow, even with the hints of red. She's blue and green.

Also, talking about Jacob, look.

My man's works out, just look and these arms that could easily carry me to death. It isn't a surprise that there are so much people simping for him he's absolutely playing on both sides.

Also, I'm pretty sure he "cuts to both sides" (it's a expression we use here to say someone likes both women and men) cus there's no damn way my man's haven't got his bitches.

Just look at him, I'm sure that he only arrives at the city's so he can talk to his girlies.

Do y'all notice that his clothing are simpler? Even tho he's clearly the captains favorite, he goes with this white common shirt while everybody has its complicated and cool looks?

It is because he's the protagonist, he has to call attention to him. And everyone has its super cool design with all those textures and details and stuff, it would be hard for him to shine. So, instead of giving him a super cool clothing, he's wearing something plane and simple that's easier to remember about.

Same for Maisie, but I'll be talking about her later wait there.

Anyway, giving him a simpler design and clothing made him appear more in the scenes, specially the dark ones. Since his blouse is white, it appears a lot.

Ok, coming to maisie.

Diferente from Jacob, that has only his white shirt on top, she has three layers of clothing.

And yet, it is still simpler.

Why? Because it doesn't folds, doesn't has much detail and doesn't has much texture. What calls attention in her is specifically her hair and how her brighter colors doesn't mix with the rest of the tripulation BUT these who have a similar spirit!

Look at old Jack, who also has his little white shirt on, and that boy who Jacob saved in the start of the movie. Both of them have a lighter pallete, which goes just right with Jacob's and Maisie's pallete.

And also, notice that Maisie's also goes for blue-green colors. Just like Sarah, but her's are lighter tones.

Oh my- looks like we pulled a new curious person off the peeps!

(CnB) Coffee N' Bombs - Brewing Romance AU is an inspiration from the first full episode in the SMG4 Channel called "SMG4: SMG3'S BOMB CAFE"

I really liked the whole model and details from the inside and outside of Three's new Cafe and at first I've been picturing about Smg4 working there- but nahh he just worked there once its not like theres gonna be an au abou-

I came in tumblr a few months back and some anon asked me what kind of design SMG4's attire would be since he works as a waitress from Three's coffee n bombs.

For a second my mind went blank of what the uniform would look like so- I gave myself on and on about some few details getting inspired by watching some other episodes of SMG4's

So then- I made the hat and I thought of something that reminded me about- a reversible color!

(A few years back I bought this octopus which was cute and then I figured it was reversible by looking underneath and putting the detail here- I was like- ah Liz you're gonna make it look so special!)

Straight in to detail that the fabric used from this hat is silk, with polkadots! And it was made by Three :>

For the pride pins I also thought of- "hey- this is a crazy idea but what if I also created a pride pin next to his apron. But instead it's a bomb than just a regular circular pin." Then there represents Four having the bi bomb flag :)

The Apron is specifically made by me on which where its all gotta be purple themed since it is his cafe and everything is purple and purple to a color black!

For the shoes tho- I might've gave myself a try to say it's one of those glow in the dark classic shoes- glow in the dark has been my favorite types of stuff to look on or even paint, the nostalgic vibe of being a small kid having fun observing and using glow in the dark (bracelets) for example- is like a funny thing and a classic thing to have.

Then that calls for it. "Heck why not?"

Theres the bomb logo and also the spilled coffee logo, it was designed by our man Three to himself.

It feels sort of childish to put in when four complains about glow in the dark having it as a childish thing- good thing three back fires in about his shoes having wheels XD (it might seem to be for kids but its all for ages and above ^^)

The gloves were designed for funziez and making it feels like getting sent back on the themed black and white (sia or melanie martinez the hair color or if you fancy it enough going back to the earliest movies that has black and white colors)

Even putting on a aymbol of "S.U.L." on the back of the gloves and Four's "IV" roman numeral signature on the palm of his gloves.

And even for the tiniest detail from his hairtie having the color of red and his slit pants on the ends. (Also including the part of the three-beaned pin that only four made it special for him and three only)

This inspired so much from the design that my followers or other people had want to try it out!

Then coming upon the reply from @shygirl4991 therefore the AU was born/created, they thought about wanting to write about this cafe au and I let them in for ideas and for writing the fic. :D

what relevance does gladstone have in the comics? like. in terms of relations, plots, character in generalll because i dont know much in generals

Uhmmmmmm Well he's Donald's super lucky cousin that's his main thing. His 3 main consistent traits are 1. SUPER LUCKY probably most important one 2. Lazy cuz of said luck. this is both just because of the nature of living his whole life lucky but also in a lot of comics his luck will punish him for working so like. #sucks 3. Egotistical as fuck.

the intricacies of his personality kind of depends on who's writing him my favorite kind is when he's an asshole to donald but mostly just kind of clueless and unaware. his ass does not pay attention. esp when you can't really tell if he's purposely pushing Donald's buttons or was just made in a lab to specifically piss him off. I think it's both tbh.

^ one of my favorite examples. He's really funny. I mostly see this in Barks comics and stuff obviously inspired by him.

like it's just a really good phenomenon. He's mostly a character who is a hindrance to Donald but in which way depends on the plot. I've noticed a sort of cycle where it's like. Donald doesn't like Gladstone cuz Gladstone is an ass to him (understandable), but even if Gladstone is not actively trying to piss him off and just existing Donald will usually be mean to him (both cuz Gladstone is an ass but also his luck pisses him off soooo much), which causes Gladstone to be annoyed back and purposely piss him off. What if both of you stopped. freaks. this is just kind of Donald's nature tbh but this isn't about him.

^ that's just like. my favorite interpretation. there are so many versions of these characters cuz of all the different writers and I usually just take my favorite parts of the different version, but barks is def my fave just purely 1 version of gladstone wise. Rosa Gladstone is usually just an asshole for no reason and a really big one. It's kind of funny. I don't have it on me but there's one comic where he specifically walks ontop of Donald and uses his hat to clean his feet for no reason. what a freak.

you can tell it's Rosa Gladstone by that he looks kind of gay. sorry I didn't say that. Rosa's artstyle is really distinct tho lol, sometimes he has blonde hair it depends on who colored it (inking and coloring are done seperately. this is also why some comics have different versions of the same story with different colors)

uhm the 3rd most well known version of gladstone is topolino gladstone I don't really have much to say abt him. he's much nicer than other version usually. there's versions within topolino cuz topolino is like. a bigger thing. rather than just a single writer. I kind of got off track. there's also dt17 gladstone but. again I got off track.

uhmm.. the three main kind of stories gladstone appears in are. 1. Gladstone centric. 2. hinderance to Donald 3. just kind of there because the whole Duck family is there. then there's categories within those. also dd comics loveee reusing plots btw this is why they're so easily to put into catergorie

gladstone centric comics usually center around either him 1. getting sad about his luck cuz people exploit him or don't like him cuz of it 2. he either loses his luck or THINKS he loses his luck and freaks out because of it. these get kind of repetitive but I like how they explore his relationship to his luck 3. who up exploiting the golden goose. other characters love taking advantage of his luck and it always blows up in their face cuz his luck serves him and only him. lol. lmao.

hinderance to donald comics are uhm. big category and includes most of his apperances. stuff includes like 1. donald is in a competition and it turns out gladstone is also in it. 2. kind of the same as b4 but there's a lot of stories where it's specifically a raffle??? 3. donald and gladstone fight over daisy. I hate these comics. a lot. they're often just really misogynistic... if I can get away with it I try and read them as if Gladstone is just kind of odd and one of his only friends happen to be his cousin's girlfriend. usually makes the stories much better LOL. I don't really like. I hate the concept of them fighting over her and the way she's written where she's two timing them basically. but also sometimes they have good parts in them... like the one where it turns out gladstone has written really sappy love letters to daisy. I like when he's sappy it' something that comes up sometimes #SAPPYFUCK. 4. scrooge makes them compete in something usually a business cuz they're his inheritors but he doesn't want either of them to have his money cuz he thinks they'll waste it. often they both technically lose or gladstone wins but either he doesn't want to do whatever scrooge wants him to do afterwards or scrooge gets scared cuz gladstone's luck can outpass him in riches lol. gladstone publishing is named after one of these stories where scrooge gets scared and so gives him a comic publishing comic cuz "who can get rich through comics?" it's a little 4th wall break that I find funny.

just occurred to me that all of iruma’s main interests have, like, some tense relationship to gender. like azz & clara don’t usually focus as much on it as amelie used to, but at the start of the series, a bunch of students would refer to clara as kind of like, a weird pet iruma & azz have. even amelie has a line where she’s like “i forgot this strange beast was a girl.” clara doesn’t seem to mind it too much, even though she does have a strong identity as being the “big sister,” and the more aware she gets of her crush on iruma the more she considers doing more feminine things. it’s not that she doesn’t want to be a girl it’s that people consider her so strange & offputting that they forget she is one unless she reminds them.

azz’s relationship is, like, both less & more subtle considering that there’s a lot implied (like him being trans) but he’s never like. said anything. he very explicitly does not want to be referred to his feminine first name, always wears a certain cut of jacket that gives him a specific silhouette, is shown to be super uncomfortable with his bloodline ability, which is potentially something he considers feminine, since it’s probably related to love in some way (i know we got the pretty boy freshman & mr hat has his own thing going on, but as far as we’ve seen that seduction classes are mainly girls only, & his mom is the crown of lust). one could argue his desire to be a protector is also very transmasc of him, but i think it’s pretty clear whatever azz’s deal is, we haven’t heard the full story yet, but i think it’s interesting he’s so insistent on fighting for iruma, when amelie (who is stronger), struggles a lot with her crush towards the beginning, because she’s worried her strength & height means she’s not feminine or cute enough to catch iruma’s attention & a lot of times she actually ends up deferring to eliza on what to wear because she’s more typically feminine

judging by her comments at the evildol festival (”a girl is at her cutest when she tries her best”) it’s something she overcomes, but she still wants to be the one that gets carried like a princess despite being over a foot taller & fantasizes about iruma giving her flowers. it’s funny because her love of first love memories means she sometimes uses that as a basis for how a relationship should go, so she’s absorbing japan’s ideas about gender, but also a big part of the manga is rin’s interest in taekwando, which she uses to save her male love interest from the “evil organization,” which isn’t necessarily the most typically feminine thing either.

also, of course, if i’m talking about gender, i have to mention iruma, who shows up in the netherworld completely unaware of his own desires after a lifetime of putting others first & struggles to even do something as simple as using a transformation spell to give him clothes he likes, and canonically exclusively only wore stuff his grandfather bought him until he had azz (king of gender) go shopping with him. (also a very large part of s1 was him struggling with discomfort about being put in the spotlight bc he didnt want to be perceived) they’re all very concerned with their image in a way i don’t think i’ve seen very often in shounen manga, & i think it makes it all the nicer they end up gravitating towards each other so quickly, because it doesn’t seem like many of their classmates feel as strongly about this (tho amelie apparently only recruits “weirdos” to the student council, according to the members themselves, so maybe they're more complex than what we’ve seen so far)

in General : i draw them like furries, vaguely. which is fun because im not much of a furry artist so i have no idea what im doing and it shows. in general i give them sorta snouts in varying... snoutyness depending on their over/underbite. eg floofty, snorpy gramble and shelda have flatter faces while liz, lillow and wambus look like weird dogs, i guess. i draw them with human-shaped hands but put pawpads on them. sometimes. you could say i give them ears but to be honest they dont look functioning i just slap some squiggles on their heads and move on. i also give some of them tails. because i walk around irl like why dont i have a tail and well its their problem now.

I also give them more/detailed-er hair and clothes. character specific stuff below

Filbo is still just a guy. I mostly just slapped some freckles on him because I thought theyd be cute. in a spongebob kinda way. i put a hawaiian shirt on him. not pictured, i think he would have a little tuft of a tail. average goober

I draw Beffica with more... idk if id say realistic hair, but it’s less of a hat. as far as I can tell, her in-game model has orangeish-red eyes (color makes me think of ketchup), but I made them browner. not a lot of brown eyed characters in media but this is partially habit on my part coming from drawing genshin fanart (nobody has brown eyes). i made her nose heart shaped and put her in a off the shoulder shirt. she has a sort of... cheetah? pattern bc i think its cute.

Eggabell is round soft and pink. not as egg shaped in my style i suppose, but she prob looks more egg fullbody than just her bust lol. i like the ........ floofy thing ive seen ppl put on her so theres that, i also think she’d look cute w/ short hair. changed her med belt into a sort of... satchel lookin thing?

Liz. in the meme I forgot about her hat, LOL. I give her a ponytail haircut - she kinda looks like a wolf and less like a walrus I suppose... she’s muscular and scared from The Adventuring, and I put a vest thing on her. she still has the belt.

Wambus I made look a bit dilfy... kind of wolf shaped in my brain. him and Triffany feel like the types to be that thick beefy kind of muscled. gave him bushy eyebrows and sort of hair, w some grey hairs. he and Triffany are around 40-50s to me, they both have some wrinkles, but im. bad at drawing older ppl

Triffany..... her hat was a menace to draw. she’s just as beefed up as Wambus, but she’s very fluffy and soft looking. her vest is more Open in canon but I didn’t wanna redraw it but im sure she has amazing chest fur. she has curly-ish hair in a ponytail.

for Cromdo I tried to make him like.. idk... uncleish. danny devitocore. I’m not used to drawing characters like him so ??? its a little funny looking but I tried to make him look like he had body hair as if he wasnt covered in fur lmfao. gave him some wrinkles, he’s probably in his 40s. put a shirt on that freak. also, had trouble w his nose.

I’ve had trouble drawing shorter characters in relation to taller ones (chandlo) but I liked how I drew Gramble. I put freckles on him (cute factor), turned his vest into a full sweater (w shirt collar), gave him some curly strawberry red hair under the hat. he’s cute. I know he weighs like 3 apples

WIGGLE my beloved! I felt I made her a bit Much but honestly? fits her. I gave her short curly hair - I do like how other designs give her the spiky mohawk look from the cheepoof tho! in her model her eyes are blue, but I darkened them similarly to how I changed Beffica’s eyes, but its less noticeable with the glasses. I gave her a sorta... half tube top w a see thru part (forgot the word.) probably wears beach party clothes

Oddly, I have trouble with Chandlo. He’s kind of dog-ish like Liz an Lillow, also made his nose heart shaped cuz its cute. gave him hair under the hat but idk how I feel on it. he’s beefy obviously, but I think he’s a bit more defined than Wambus. I couldn’t quite show it but I imagine he has rather calloused paws, but is otherwise careful when carpenter-ing and such (unlike Snorpy and Floofty, OSHA enemies.)

SNORBYYYYY I love this little yellow thing. I draw him (and his sibling) with casual glasses usually, because I imagine the magnifying glass isnt Always necessary. I also put him in a sweater. I gave him some freckles and changed the direction of his hair + the style to be in a ponytail idk. his arms and hands are particularly scarred, from equipment and engineering accidents and such, probably has some burns too.

Floofty my beloved rude asshole. I have a little trouble w their hair on the left side of their head 😭 I also give them simpler glasses to wear when they don’t need the goggles because wearing that shit all day hurts. I put them in a hoodie/jacket + lab coat combo. I imagine the lab coat is blood stained. stuff’s hard to clean. They’re equally if not more scarred than their brother, and have a particularly bad burn/scar double whammy on their right hand which I hc they get after getting fired when having a meltdown. ANYWAYS

Shelda my gramma. I love her but MY GOD coloring the flowers was hard lol. I imagine her fur is on the shorter side. I don’t have too much to say I guess? I want to give her a hug.

Clumby I just drew a kind of Aunt-y ish garfield. the glasses and hat were hard. definitely the type of woman I saw in the middle school’s reception office.

Ah I LOVE crocodile rock such a beautifully nostalgic song to me… OMG I’m so glad you asked about Led Zeppelin recs. I’ve found Led Zeppelin II to be the best album to start with. For specific song recs, if you’re interested in their more pop-adjacent songs, id suggest “D’yer Mak’er,” “Tangerine,” and “Heartbreaker”/“Living Loving Maid.” Also special shout-out to “Ramble On” for general excellence ofc!

this is the first i've ever heard of eurythmy and upon some research it seems...... interesting? it definitely seems to have a connection to the general early modern dance movement in the early 20th century and kind of reminds me of isadora duncan. but the guy who came up with it is kind of a lot lmao.

i think my favorite songs that i've choreographed to are honestly the more classic rock ones! i've done california girls by the beach boys (4-6 year olds, very cute), crocodile rock (6-10 year olds), wild thing by the troggs (3-5 year olds, they loved this song lol), come together by the beatles (middle schoolers), a mix of queen songs (adults), and a mix of abba songs (6-9 year olds). but i also get to use some kids music! i've done some songs from the hannah montana movie, cheetah girls, barbie, and turning red :) i've also done solos to another brick in the wall and get back, and i'm working on one now to maneskin's cover of if i can dream!! i really love getting to introduce kids to music that they might not hear otherwise

i enjoy those four albums! they get more experimental and have a lot more personality in my opinion. also a couple of their more well known songs like pleasant valley sunday and daydream believer come from those albums! what's funny though is that after all the work to play their own instruments they largely just....don't. like i think mike and peter continue to play on the albums but micky actually plays drums on only one or two songs bc he's fundamentally not a drummer. so it ended up being more about having creative control over what they played and being able to write some of their own songs than actually playing on the tracks. but yeah those albums get a lot more eclectic in terms of style because the four of them have such different musical influences and they really incorporate all of their styles into the albums rather than just standard pop-rock :)

i got into the monkees by watching the tv show! they started airing it on cable a while back and it was something fun to look forward to each week :) one thing i really like about watching the show is how when i listen to their songs, it always makes me think of where the songs appeared in the show! also, crucially, after the first couple episodes i watched, i fully imprinted on mike nesmith like a baby duck. i saw that wool hat and it was over for me, he bewitched me body and soul

probably the lesbian thing? robin's most prominent ships are with dudes and i ain't about that...

oh wait no i have a bigger one. she's not the team mom like everyone says. pretty much the only reason i think they cast her in that role is because a lot of fandom tends to view the "found family" trope as like, rigidly sorting all the characters within a found family dynamic into familial roles relative to each other, and then robin gets cast as the straw hats' mom just because out of the two women on the crew she's of a more "mom" age than nami. she doesn't even really act all that parental towards the other SHs from what i've seen, she's just more mature than them (BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T GET TO HAVE A CHILDHOOD)

regrettably, before i actually started reading the series, i would occasionally look at zorobin fanart and think "oh this is cute"

this is weird with robin specifically since she's one of the two main female characters of the highest grossing manga series of all time, so naturally there's a lot of... That Kind of art of her, which like, for every piece of her by herself there's something of her with some guy (though i guess that applies to art that isn't That Kind too i guess). at higher quantities of both kinds the one i don't like gets a lot easier to ignore tho, so i guess that's a win?

First of all I find it very funny that Belos was apparently like "Oh, you can't do magic? Not to fear. I will provide you with the best artificial magical aid available."

But I like to think of it as like. Hunter has done nothing but read and study since he was tiny. So his eyesight wasn't exactly terrible and he probably could have managed just fine without realizing he needed glasses. His eyes would have gotten progressively worse as he got older tho. But at sixteen he's just at the starting point where small text is getting a little blurry.

They just happened to stumble across one of those glasses racks at the pharmacy one day, Willow jokingly set them on his face and Hunter was like "HOLY SHIT I can read all of the tiny little price tags!!!" So he bought them. (A lucky little bitch who doesn't need to go to an optician and pay an arm and a leg to get his highly specific prescription. I need to oppress him.)

Although since he only needs them for reading, he's not often seen with them. I think, at first, he's not used to his appearance while wearing them so he worries that they don't make him look good. (Remembering that this is during Hunter's journey to self identity in the Human Realm so I imagine his appearance is a very important thing to him at this point. He's trying to figure out how he wants to present.) But yknow, that's just early stuff. Once he gets accustomed to how they look on his face, he's fine with it.

Those very well COULD be Hunter's prescription glasses that he's wearing in the art. Personally I don't think they are but that's just me. Just cuz he's out and about, and doesn't look like he's on his way to school (nobody's wearing their uniforms.) And I like the idea that those frames are purely a fashion accessory, which is funny to me.

I like to think either Darius or Willow (or both at the same time with is SUCH a chaotic thought) were helping him pick out his outfit. Darius was the one who originally chose the jacket and jeans (BEFORE Hunter personalised them.) and the swanky shoes. And Willow was a strong advocate for Hunter wearing whatever clothes had added his cute little touches to cuz she thinks it's the height of fashion.

But yeah Willow placed the glasses on his face as a last minute detail.

(I like to imagine Willow frequently adds last minute details to Hunter's outfits, just before he steps out the door. A hat, a scarf, a piece of jewelry. He always just lets her do it.)

I will premise this by saying that these fanfics were famous only in certain specific niches of the internet, and that when i say that a work is badly written or i critique it in anyway it?s just my opinion from what i vaguely remember, whihch might not be correct. 

Fanfics below the cut: filthy lucre, asotm, twist and shout, the hat and lung fics, anatomy of a fall, throam, unholyverse. feelfree to add what you remember of “famous fanfics” you’ve read.

tw for mentions of: sexual assault, violence, animal abuse, pedophilia and some other upsetting topics. 

The Milk Fic

Oh my God this was bad but not nearly as extreme as other fics. An iconic and shocking read i do not recommend, but if you really want to read it it will not ruin your life, your month at most. 

From what i remember at least the sex was consensual aaaaaaand i don’t remember any other good/decent aspects about it. 

Very famous, a lot of ppl have read it, gerard way said it was “well-written” but honestly it wasn’t.

Filthy Lucre

So bad i don’t remember the plot. They’re prostitutes i think? there definitely was an abusive relationship and the sex scenes were so bad i had to skip all of them, meaning i read the whole thing in half an hour.

Really terrible, they don’t end up toghether and that’s the only interesting element. I recomend no one reads this unless you are literally dying of boredom.

Twist and Shout

This is considered one of the good ones and you know what? for iconic fanfiction standards it’s not bad at all, decently-written with actual characters that don’t feel, like most fanfic characters, like bad ooc versions of the original.

How about the overcomplicated plot tho? I don’t remember a thing except for the homophobia (its set in the 50s-60s), the war, the Elvis songs, one cute sad beach scene and one of the protagonists dying of aids. Maybe they also watch star trek,idk; lots to unpack. 

If you want to suffer and you have lots of free time i recommend it, i skipped most of the sex scenes but there is an actual plot so that was not a problem.

The Hat Fic

DO NOT READ THIS THING. Go read the milk fic if you want weird but not this one please. A milk enema is NOTHING. Contains animal abuse and i don’t remember how consensual the whole thing was.

I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE TO THIS DAY I FEEL SICK WRITING THIS. There is a whole subset of early phanfiction centered on being as disgusting and upsetting as possible and i think this started it.

I higly doubt anyone got off on this but still the possibility unsettles me.

A splitting of the Mind

Some people insist on treating this as one of the good iconic fics but it’s bad. 

So bad its actually an interesting read if you feel like analizing some text, trying to see what is so appealing about it, despite its evident flaws.

The age gap is 19-16 so not as bad as the Other Iconic mcr Fanfic About Doves that i did not read bc from what i remember it was basically pedophilia/grooming but i might be wrong. God the bar is so low

Portrayal of mantal illness and trauma was truly a shitshow, the writing was not great but also not horrible. The sexual assault elements upset me greatly but it might be just bc of the subject matter

pros: unreliable narrator done decently, ray toro’s character saw the future looking in cereal, characters are characters and not merely names (not to be confused with actual good characterization), nothing else.

(original frerard version) 5/10 for the effort honestly, but i do not recommend this unless you are mentally ready for some heavy topics handled poorly.

The Lung Fic

This was written with the goal of shocking the reader, in the same vein as all hat fic/ milk fic copycats.

 Should be more upsetting, given it contains gore, pedophilia and a bunch of other disgusting madness (maybe mpreg?), but it just reads as a fanfiction taboo list.

Not worth reading at all, clearly intentionally designed to shock and disgust to the point where it’s obvious.

0/10 i don’te remember which version, irrelevant, don’t waste your time

Anatomy of a fall

Contains ghosts, high school au, possibly resurrection or death, idk.

I don’t remember this being particularly offensive in any way, but its been a long time. Then again i did not read the sex scenes so it might contain necrophilia and i wouldn’t know. (i checked and no necrophilia, just “weird supernatural sex”)

is it well written? no, but it’s not outragiously badly-written. Is it funny sometimes? yes.

 In the context of this list, this might be a good one, in any other context probably not. I might be biased bc i love ghost stories in general and this one does not contain sexual assault if i remember correcly. (The bar is soooo low)

 The Heart Rate of a Mouse

Good but not in the classical meaning of the word. It contains some Hot TakesTM on human sexuality, substance abuse and unhealthy relationship(s).

Its set in the 70s so the homophobia is there and she is thriving. Wonderful internalized homophobia, really 10/10 for that.

The sex and the plot sometimes intersect, putting me in the uncomfortable position of having to  read smut or not knowiong what is going on (0/10 ).

Well written for the genre (=beloved fanfictions that are rarely redeemable); characters are original and flawed, even interesting sometimes.

The plot is three pubblished books worth of plot available for free on the internet and that is a blessing. I suggest reading this as if all the characters are OCs and you found this book forgotten on the train and decided to read it. 

But is it actually good as a story? idk its a lot honestly, if you have to quarantine for 14 days bc of covid and you don’t have anything to study, this will fill at least 4 full days of reading.

Unholyverse

Contains Demons, priests, scarfs, exorcisms(affectionate), vergin mary tatoos and much more. Not as carefully written as throam or tas, but it still makes it as one of the good  fanfics solely for the cool factor.

It would be so cool if this was better written and a comicbook or a grafic novel with original characters.( I skipped all the sex scenes bc they made me uncomfy, as usual so idkwhat was going on there)

If there was anything extremely upsetting about this one i forgot about it (i checked: they say “ warnings for religious themes, pain, trauma, blood, torture and death”). There is a lot of plot, its not even just one fic its a whole serie. 

Great for passing the time, I forgot most of it 7/10 for the demons (original version)

Harry put a finger to his lips, signaling to be quiet. He smirked when he saw your friend's eyes light up with mischief and silently agreed. He slowly inched forward, waiting until he was all but pressed against your back. He lunged forward, covering your eyes before whispering ‘guess who?’ in your ear.

He let out a laugh when you screamed successfully catching the attention of everyone in the dining hall. He pulled his hands away only to wrap them around your waist, watching how your face melted into a color to rival a strawberry. He laughed harder when you pulled your hood up to hide your blush. 

“Harry, you jerk!” You squeaked out while your friends snickered into their hands. “That wasn’t funny!”

“Aw, I’m sorry, love. You’re right, I’m a big meanie.” He said between chuckles, kissing your hood covered cheek. He laughed louder when you slapped his arm. “How is my favorite ray of sunshine doing this evening?” Harry took any opportunity he could to see you blush and it was quite easy to do, especially with such a soft nickname that fit you perfectly. Seriously, you’re smile lit up entire rooms and Harry levied for it. 

“Well, I was telling Cedric about this kneazle kit I found out by the bushes yesterday but now I wanna melt into the black lake and never come back.” You grumbled, slowly pulling your hood down when you were sure the attention and blush had faded. You smiled when Harry responded with a fake gasp of shock.

“And you didn’t tell me? After being your boyfriend for three months?”

“Three and a half-”

“That’s even worse!” Harry pouted at you, cheering internally when he managed to make you blush just the slightest. 

Truth be told, you’d been dating the wonder boy for 3.5 months and it all started because you’d bumped into him one random day. You’d apologized so quietly and swiftly, he nearly missed your American accent. He told you it was alright and you ran off before he could get a name. He ended up seeing you later that day, during dinner at the dining hall. They did a quick welcome ceremony for you before sorting you with the hat. Harry was practically leaping for joy when you were put in Hufflepuff. He was just grateful at the time to not have to deal with another Slytherin who’d judge people for something as simple as blood status. 

While you were quiet and shy and reserved and just overall the softest human Harry had ever met, he tried to talk to you whenever he could. He managed to break your shell a little bit each day, slowly spending more time with you and introducing you to his friends. 

You’d study with Hermione and help her tutor the other two dorks in the group. You’d play wizard's chess with Ron where most games end in a tie, but ever so often you would beat him, as would he. Long story short, his friends love you and at this point, Harry was loving you too, just a little differently. He wanted to hold you at night and fall asleep in your arms. He wanted to bake your favorite cookies just to see you smile. He wanted to see your bright eyes reflect the stars so badly.

So one day he did it. He asked you on a date in the middle of one of your chess games with Ron, leading to Ron winning because you were far too distracted by the males request. You did end up saying yes though, which rocked his hard harder than anything else. 

He took you to Hogsmeade, obviously. He showed you the shops, since this was the first time you’d been. He introduced you to the lovely world of Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks. One date led to another, then another, then another, until it was literally a weekly thing. He saved Friday after school for you and only you. It was, actually, really cute. 

At every month milestone of you two being official boyfriends, he’d try to do something immensely special. In the first month, he took you out on the quidditch brooms for a night ride out. You gazed at the sky together, watched the sun set and returned to cuddle in his arms in the common room of Gryffindor tower. Second month, the two of you went adventuring in the Forbidden Forest, with Hagrid low-key third wheeling to make sure you were safe, then a cute picnic by the Black Lake. This month, he’d snuck you into the Shrieking Shack just so you’d get scared and confide in him. It was terrifying, but he made up for it with snuggles and treats swiped from the kitchen after hours. You were excited to see what month four had coming.

“Oh, stop. You’re acting like a big baby.” You giggled out, leaning over to kiss his shoulder. You waved your friends off when they faked a few gags. “What brings ya over here, anyway?”

“What? I can’t see my ball of sunshine? I’m hurt, (Y/n)! You wound me!” Harry scoffed, placing a hand over his chest as if his heart had shattered like a mirror. He looked around at your friends when they all grew quiet. “..What?”

“You usually only come over here to tease him or because someone specific and blonde was staring at him from across the room.” Cedric spoke up, his eyebrows cocked up while Harry’s furrowed in confusion.

“What? Do I?” Harry turned to you, his eyes shining with worry. You bit down on your lip before slowly nodding your head. You spoke up quickly when he let out a pain filled groan.

“But that’s ok because I get to see you in herbology, potions and astronomy!” You waved your hands, trying to show it really wasn’t a big deal. It really wasn’t! You got to see him a lot and understood he couldn’t be with you 24/7 and that his friends wanted his attention too, so it was fine. 

“I’ll do better.”

“What? Harry, no! Love, you’re fine!” You squeaked out, cupping his cheek gently. “Honestly, it’s ok.” You pulled your hand away when he swung one leg over the bench to straddle it next to you. 

“Are you sure?” Harry stared into your eyes, basically scanning your soul for lies like a bar code. You nodded your head again, planting a soft kiss on his nose. “Ok..” He smiled, pulling you to him before planting his own peck against your lips. 

He only pulled back when someone chose to shout a specific f slur across the room. The raven haired male didn’t hesitate to stand up. His eyes were scanning across the now quiet dining hall.

“Who said it?” Harry’s voice was not filled with sweetness. It was filled to the brim with venom and it only became more obvious when no one spoke up. “Oh, come on now! You weren’t scared to shout before! Don’t be shy now!” 

Neither you nor Harry batted an eye when McLaggen stood up. The blonde bimbo had been anything but pleasant toward you when you made your relationship public. 

“I’m just saying what we’re all thinking, Harry.” McLaggen’s cocky voice spoke up as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. Cormac’s cockiness faded when McGonagall began spouting about intolerable language in Hogwarts and how that word was one of the many students should know better than to say. While the Gryffindor headmaster was going off, Harry didn’t hesitate to walk around the table, despite your protests, and punch the bloke square in the jaw.

You jumped up from your seat just as Cormac’s behind hit the floor of the dining hall. Harry  followed the bloke to the ground, deciding to bruise his ego and pretty face further. Upon order of McGonagall, the twins and Lee jumped up, separating Harry and McLaggen. Fred held Harry back while George and Jordan carried the idiot out of the hall. 

Once Harry stropped squirming, Fred let go, allowing you to scurry over and grab his hands. You also dragged him out of the dining hall much to McGonagall’s disliking, but went in the opposite direction as the quidditch players. You took him to the courtyard, setting him down on a step before kneeling in front of him. 

“Harry.” You spoke up, looking down at his right hands knuckles, that were covered in blood. “Come on, babe.” You whispered out, your heart cracking at the sight of your love hurt.

“I know..” Harry grumbled, his eyes also staring at the red liquid coming from his knuckles. 

“So, why do you keep fighting? Words can sting just as much as a punch.” You spoke up, reaching into Harry’s robe and pulling his wand out of the pocket. You transfigured a handful of leaves into a roll of bandages before shoving the wand into Harry’s not bloody hand and started wrapping up his knuckles.

“Because you’re too soft on people.” Harry looked down at his knees, his hands coming to his sides to rest against the stone. He started drawing a pathetic portrait of the two of you sitting at some.. Beach? Maybe it was grass. Poor babe couldn’t draw that well.

“Hun, people have reasons behind the things they say and do..” You rested a hand against his shoulder. He looked up from his drawing in the dirt to gaze up at you, his eyes big and innocent even after a fight.

“I know..” He grumbled again. “But he deserved it this time, babe, you know he did. If it wasn’t me, it’d be Cedirc or Ron for Merlin’s sake.” 

“I know..” You sat down next to the raven haired male, pulling him to your side and letting him lean his head against your shoulder. “I’m not mad, ya know? It.. It was nice.” You bit your lip. Harry knows that hesitation. His eyes snapped up to yours, noting the soft blush across your cheeks.

“Oh, really, sunshine? You like it when I play knight?” He wiggled his eyebrows, smirking a little when your soft pink cheeks turned brighter in hue.

“May-.. No, I’m not giving you a reason to keep getting bloody knuckles.” You shook your head, gazing across the courtyard.

“Oooh, you do like it when I play knight!”

“Harry, no.”

“Harry yes!”

“Harry, no!” You shouted, your voice slightly sterner. Harry wasn’t used to you being so stern or loud, it was kinda scary. “Do not get into more fights just to fluster me.” Your shy demeanor came back ten fold, causing him to smirk wider.

“Of course not! Why would I do that, sunshine?” Harry snickered, his arms wrapping around your waist and kissing the base of your neck. He wasn’t going to bring up every year he managed to find himself in literal life or death situations or the fact that he was most likely going to be defending you again.

“Because your Harry Potter and ‘I-Fight-Homophobs’ really should be your middle name.” You smiled, praying he didn’t notice how hot your body had gotten from the heat. He let out a final laugh, his lips planting a big kiss to your cheek. “Harry, seriously, though. No more fights. It’s scary.”

“No, I know! Whatever you say.”

“I’m serious!”

“No, I know!”

“Then where are you going?”

“To finish what I started! Just five minutes, sunshine. Just five, I promise!”

“Harry, no!”

I LOVE THAT TROPE TOO not to. sing myself praises but. i adore the trope yet i find that i can rarely read it bc i also usually cant stand readers being too much of a dumbass? at a certain point im like ok ur just stupid bye KJHBASDF its a careful tightrope is what i mean, but when i find fics i like that utilize that trope i rlly adore them (pspsps on that note..... if u havent already, check out @andypantsx3's unconventional, its also a deku fic with that trope and she's just announced that the last part is coming over the weekend!) and i figured fuck it, if i want something done a specific way, well, im an author i gotta do it myself LMFAOOO

midoriya's merch was inspired by a number of things! firstly, @ofmermaidstories' deku fic something (just like this) on ao3, where deku's first appearance is in a shouto hoodie like the one described in mine and a froppy hat—a similar meeting where the reader doesnt know he's the Deku! that scene in merm's is inspired in turn by this art by @/min-min-minnie. Aside from the shouto hoodie which connects all three works, the merch i described all came from my lil noggin LMFAO i felt like wearing hero merch in particular would throw anyone off the scent of that-cute-hero-fan-over-there being Deku, Number One Hero; plus its just. adorable as hell and totally in-character bc at his core deku is still the biggest fanboy of all his friends. there r a few obvious choices: headphones for jirou, a fancy watch for momo, umbrella for tsu. i think my choices for those were p obvious! the rest were more standard merch choices (tho the clear umbrella was just bc those r rlly popular in animes and i thought it was funny LMFAO)

the cufflinks came about bc there was originally gonna be a longer scene where he comes in in a suit and the reader has a "oh no hes hot" moment, and then teases him about having to put away the hero merch for a day—only for him to expose himself for having spent a small fortune on a pair of limited edition all might cufflinks that were made wrong (queue the reader going on no hes hot and rich im screwed KJAHBF). i ended up cutting it (tbh i cut a lot from Talk Too Much, bc i wanted to get it out by his birthday and so i ended up breezing over a lot of the cutesy slow burn scenes...... i make up for it in the final scene tho, never said this but that bit where he kneels and then kisses the reader's knee...... still gets me, as arrogant as it sounds 😳 i think its one of the hottest things ive written) but rest assured that still occurred in canon. if u want me to go into detail, i imagined them as being a collab with some luxury company, a limited run with only a few (like fifty or a hundred) made and like fifteen being made incorrectly—they'd have all might's chest design on them, and the incorrectly made ones have the red & blue mixed up. there was a lil story abt how deku hunted for them, found a set with the correct coloring at an online auction and almost got them only to be outbid at the last moment, and then managed to come across a different set with the wrong coloring (the more expensive version, as is usually the case for collectors) at a random thrift shop. and gave the owner the amount he originally bid with, bc hes deku KJAHBSD OK THAT WAS A LOT i promise im done

sam's halloween costumes 2013-2020

certain things that i planned to post fell through, but luckily for me an anon asked "I feel like you'd be the one capable of doing this. Can you make a compilation separately of Sam and Colbys costumes over the years?" and since it fits right in with what i've been posting, i figured i would post this instead of what i was planning to post because not everything works in my favor, apparently lol

so now i present to you, sam's halloween costumes thru the years

(i might have missed one or two, but i'm pretty sure this is all of them)

also... i'm gonna rate them for shits and gigs lol

starting with 2013, sam dressed up as a greek/roman person. it was a couples costume with his girlfriend at the time.

sam (as you will see) goes for couples costumes almost always. that's not really a problem, but i do have a sneaky suspicion that he doesn't really choose the costume and it's his gf that does it lol

rating: 2/5, kinda boring, not creative, but not the worst

2014 is the only year i couldn't find a single costume for him. if you know, feel free to let me know bc i couldn't find anything that told me what he dressed up as.

the next year, in 2015, sam and colby dressed up together, which is so cute and one of the few (if literally the only time) they were in a couples costume sksks

they were mario and luigi

i think it's fucking hilarious that the suspenders are just black tape on their shirt. also... mario and luigi don't have suspenders??? they wear overalls.

rating: 2/5, kinda dumb, but the black tape is funny enough to keep this from being a one lmao

in 2016, i couldn't really find an actual costume that he wore, but i did find this screenshot from some video wear he rewore the mario costume

i'm like 99% sure that he's wearing a red shirt turned inside out with black tape overtop again..

for halloween in 2017, technically sam and colby weren't in the country (they were in egypt with elton on a tfil trip) but sam and kat were finally a couple so you know what that means.... sam doesn't have to decide what to wear lmao

the costumes are really cute, obviously just bits and pieces that they both owned and probably bought from party city and honestly, i sometimes like a simple costume.

rating: 3.5/5, adorable, and sam hasn't worn that hat in a long time

2018 was the first time that sam had two different costumes, both of which i thoroughly enjoyed. and again, i just have a feeling that sam didn't come up with neither one. but that doesn't matter.

peter pan and tinkerbell is adorable. personally i would have went with peter pan and wendy but nonetheless it was cute. and then barbie and ken is a cute idea, but you can tell it was a last minute costume since they aren't a specific barbie and ken. i also feel like they could have based their outfits more off of each other and did more makeup or hair. just something else that would have made it more special.

2019 also had two costumes. and again, it's kinda the same deal as the previous year: one costume is more thought through while the other is a last minute one.

the corpse bride costume is fucking awesome, and it's only that good bc he's in a suit (bc every man looks hot in a suit) and the makeup !!! idk who did it, but props to whoever it was. the fireman costume... it's fine. not my fave tho.

and then in 2020, they repeated themselves again: one great and one mediocre costume lol

the beauty and beast costume is so adorable, and sam dressing up as a prince is something i need more in my life. i kinda wish kat's dress was an actual dress, but beggers can't be choosers i guess.

and the second costume... is barely a costume. sam is wearing his regular clothes with the jacket from love for hire (rip). and kat's cheerleading costume is cute... kinda boring tho.

overall, sam only succeeds at wearing the costumes his gf puts in front of him. i would love for him to have his own separate costume one year. he can still dress up with kat in a couple costume, but have a different one to just post in or go to a party in. also, while i get the lazier costumes are for parties... you can still be interest with a simple costume. the nerds one is proof. that one is interesting. the others are just either really generic or too simple that they look like clothes.

“I envy you.” she said quietly while pressing her cheek to his chest.

“You envy me?” he laughed softly.

“Mmm” She let out a long yawn. “You have an amazing family who’d go to hell and back for you. Not to mention Faust, who’ll never leave your side. You’re never going to be alone. I wish I had that.”

Robin was born in a very respected family of lawyers and doctors. Their motto is “Ambition is our biggest virtue.” And she is very ambitious but not in a way her parents would want her to be. Robin developed an interest in magical creatures from a very young age and ever since she wanted to make that her field of study. Thanks to her stubbornness she continued doing what she loves however it left her relationship with parents very fragile. She often does stuff just in spite of making them mad (ex. getting a tattoo, dressing the way she does etc.). She’s an only child.

“Forgive me for being rude but-“ He hesitated for a moment but the girl’s warm smile gave him more courage than he’d ever felt in his life. “You look very cheerful for someone who’s ordering a coffin.”

“Well, maybe if I’ll tell you a little bit about the size of it...” She took a small piece of paper from a back pocket of her jeans. “It’ll make it a little bit more obvious.”

She first met Janek and Faust during a summer when she moved in with her very eccentric aunt because of an internship that would later turn into a full-time job. They met at Janek’s work place which happens to be a funeral home. Her aunt was trying to order a very specific casket for… well I’m in the middle of writing that short thing and I think it’s kinda hilarious so you’ll have to wait a little bit for it :P After learning that Janek is a werewolf (it’s pretty obvious when you look at his face) the aunt throws a tantrum and exits the place. Robin comes back shortly after to apologize to him and to finalize the order.

It’s trivia time

Because of her hatred for loneliness she (almost desperately) tries to surround herself with as much friends as she can.

She didn’t like her name until Janek started comparing it to an european robin and how he thinks that both Robin and a bird are cute.

Faust loves her almost as much as she (Faust) loves Janek.

Her favorite magical creature is kelpie.

She loves saying dog related puns to Janek (and he finds them amusing in all its cheesiness)

She likes playing chess with Janek and even tho she’s good at it and knows exactly how each piece is called, she loves to call them by the wrong names (ex. Knight = horsie, bishop = guy with a funny hat etc.)

She’s very protective of people she cares about.

My Thoughts: this is part of a series but might be okay to read on it’s own? tho really I suggest the entire series, it’s amazing. but this fic specifically has great kid Jason characterization (and also made me cry, I think!)
