Hi, I'm back from the dead! (For approximately 28 more hours. Don't get a job, kids. Whole day I'm fucking busy, only get few money.)

Question for the void: If I were to hypothetically post the first chapter of a 5-6 chapter fic this week, knowing that it will probably be updated on my usual schedule (approximately 1.25 chapters per year), would y'all throw rocks at me?

imagine lucy got scared bc she realized snow had murdered one more person he didn't want to tell her about. imagine she made the excuse to go dig up katniss, and in a desperate rush ran away. when her scarf got tangled in some branches she didn't dare take the time to disentangle it, but dropped it instead.

the snake, knowing lucy's scent and finding comfort in it, curls up in it. after some more steps, lucy comes to a halt. maybe she overreacted?

just as she has starts having doubts, coriolanus shows up in the woods. he's carrying one of the rifles. lucy bites down a gasp, tries to keep as quiet as possible.

at first, when he shouts "hey did something happen? if it did, we can talk about it," she nearly wants to step out of the trees and reveal herself. maybe they can talk about it? maybe he's not as dangerous as she fears? didn't they wanted to run away together and build a new life?

just as she's about to step out, coriolanus reaches down to the scarf--and gets bitten by the snake. he rages and screams, and now lucy knows she needs to get out of here.

breath short and heart pounding, she loses her head and starts running -

i guess you could make it like "evokes satin and the sea, with a hint of amber and vanilla" or somwthing else like that but i dont think im satisfied with that. and its not actually what the scent in question Smells Like, its just coming up with a description which you then try and reverse engineer a smell from. and idk if it would actually smell good im just spitballing

who is your number one rockstar?

god I wish I could actually legitimately answer this but my hyperfixation brain will just change its mind a month later 😭 there’s also different categories of rockstar in my head: the ones I want to boink, the ones that impress me the most on a musical level, and the ones I want to emulate so that makes it even more difficult to pick an answer

You know, I really wish I had sharper critical thinking skills when in the middle of a book/movie, but I am just wired differently. I have no thoughts. No complaints formed. I can not point to what fault the thing I'm currently reading/watching had. I can only go !!!!!! In my hearts of hearts, I am fully immersed in the story, and to question the pacing of the book or the progression of the narrative feels like breaking the fourth wall in my own imagination. And it simply does not happen. That isn't how I consume media, and while I'm not proud of this, I also can not imagine how else to do it. I do think people who can form coherent sentences and spot plot holes are very impressive. I am just built differently.

okay but a fic titled "give me a boost (over heaven's gate)" in a hospital setting where pete is a jovial, prankster nurse/physical therapist and patrick is the high strung, overworked tech pete always grabs to help move patients, and it drives patrick nuts until one time he's truly had enough and confronts pete about it (maybe by pulling him into a supply closet and getting in his personal space yknow) and pete fesses up that he thinks patrick is cute

There’s something incredible about your aus that they start out with fun characters and world building ideas and then we all start digging underneath. And inevitably end up with a story that, for me (and I’ll only speak for my own experience here), forces me to think deeply about the world around us and life in general. And that is powerful stuff. /pos

I’m kind of dooming my AUs into that every time because I have this imaginary rule to make every storyline .uh. unique? Like if I already have “a human who randomly befriended a mer” then all other characters has to be something entirely different. So I end up starting to dig out references and experimenting with contrasting concepts and genres. And usually it leads to everyone crying because nothing makes such a contrast with simple fun as complicated suffering heh?
