yandere peacock x humming bird darling? :3
dont know about the humming birdbut i can DEFINITELY do peaCOCK yandere
in a world of demihumans, male peacocks are known for their bright and vibrant feathers. it is said that these feathers are usef to scare predators away and to attract any potential mates. however, in a society where looks are becoming more of the main focus, male peacocks have started to just use their flamboyant feathers to appear, well, more flamboyant. especially that one, your neighbour.
he's a flamboyant man, that's for sure.
he moved in next door and you haven't really saw him much. that was, until, he heard your singing and went 'holy crap, you're a beautiful singer'. well actually, you don't know if he said that. but he only started showing interest in you after you caught him standing outside the door to your karaoke room.
conveniently enough, that was when he started showcasing his... army of feathers, passing by your door several times as other neighbours complained about him blocking up the whole damn hallway. you live in a tiny apartment complex after all. that meant tiny hallways and little to no space to walk if someone decided to spread his feathers and pace up and down a certain door.
you don't know what to do except tell him you're not interested repeatedly. because let's be honest, do you really think this guy is gonna leave even after you reject him? he's just going to come back for seconds and say that he's simply showing his feathers because they're beautiful! not because he wants to woo you...
that definitely didn't happen already. yup, definitely not.
"𝓰𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓰𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓮𝓸𝓾𝓼..."
"good morning."
a quiet sigh escapes your lips as you lock your front door like you always do. lately though, you think that your door might be broken. it's always open whenever you return from your job. did you not lock it tightly enough? also for some reason there's always a hint of expensive floral fragance in the air. were you hallucinating? maybe a neighbour just bought some flowers?
well whatever, you'll just get a locksmith to see to your lock soon. maybe this weekend? as for the floral scent, it's no big deal. the scent is rather pleasant so you don't mind.
"heading to work, beautiful?"
you nod your head. yeah... another day of work at your boring job. you're really wasting your potential as a hummingbird demihuman. you could've been a famous singer by now!
orrrr... maybe not. you'd lose all your privacy if you became famous. no way in hell did you want that.
"be careful my pretty, i heard there's been a ton of accidents on the road these days. wouldn't want my neighbour to get hurt now, huh?"
oh how considera-
and there he was, flashing his damned feathers at you as a mysterious sparkle flashes around him. this... this stupid golden light that seemed to shine down on him, illuminating his godly sculpted features even more.
what a damn adonis.
no, he's more like narcissus. always admiring his beauty. you swear you've caught him staring at himself in a mirror store before while out shopping. that was one hell of a time.
you deadpan at him for a moment, just staring as he strikes pose after pose, body carefully twisted in such a way that would show off not only his feathers, but also his slender body. he's gorgeous, you have to admit that.
"have a good day neighbour."
"𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓽𝓸𝓸 𝓭𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰- wait what? you're leaving already?"
your peacock neighbour deflates IMMEDIATELY, lips turning down into a pout as his feathers grow soft, falling down behind him. do his feathers act like a dick? you've always wondered that. they get hard and erect and soft sometimes. maybe you should ask him that someday.
"yeah, i have work dude. i'll be late if i stall any longer."
you waste not a single second before leaving him behind to pout childishly as a dark aura envelops him. you swear you even heard him mutter something about showing your boss who's in charge. what a weirdo. how would he even know who your boss is? dumbass.
what a weirdo your neighbour is, am i right fellas? definitely don't want him as your secret stalker, that's for sure! haha!

♡ You're Family | CL16
PART OF MY IS IT CASUAL NOW? SERIES
Summary: It's hard being casual when my favorite bra lives in your dresser, And it's hard being casual when I'm on the phone talking down your brother.
PREVIOUS | MASTERLIST | NEXT
After the summer break, things between her and Charles shift in subtle but undeniable ways. He goes back to racing, and she falls into a comfortable rhythm at home, taking care of Leo and focusing on work. But her world feels fuller now, punctuated by unexpected calls, invitations, and little gestures that keep her close to the Leclercs, even when Charles is away.
It starts with Pascale, who invites her over one afternoon for coffee. It’s warm and welcoming, the kind of invitation that makes her feel like she’s known Pascale forever. “Come, sit down, ma belle,” Pascale says, guiding her to a cozy seat in the kitchen. She fusses over her with warmth that feels so genuine it makes her chest ache.
“You know, it’s ridiculous that Charles hasn’t introduced us sooner,” Pascale chides, shaking her head. “I told him, ‘If you’re serious about someone, we should meet her, no?’”
She feels her cheeks warm but laughs it off. “Oh, I don’t know if you’d call it serious. We’re just…”
Pascale waves a hand, dismissing her words. “Please, I’ve seen the way he talks about you. We know when it’s serious.” She pours coffee into a delicate cup and hands it to her, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Plus, the way he sulks when you’re at work—he’s like a lost puppy. We tease him for it!”
And just like that, Pascale has her laughing and sharing stories, making her feel like part of the family. Before she knows it, these coffee dates turn into a regular thing, and Pascale even insists on cutting her hair, brushing away her protests with a gentle but firm hand. They chat and laugh, talking about everything from family to work, and she leaves every time feeling a bit more like she belongs.
Then there’s Charlotte. One day, she calls, suggesting a girls’ day out, just the two of them. They roam the city, stopping at boutiques and trying on sunglasses, gossiping and laughing over coffee like old friends. Charlotte is sharp, witty, and fun, making her feel completely at ease.
“So, you’ve really got Charles wrapped around your finger, huh?” Charlotte teases as they browse the racks of a boutique. “I don’t think I’ve seen him this smitten since… well, ever.”
She rolls her eyes, brushing off the comment with a laugh. “Smitten? He’s just… we’re just friends.”
“Right,” Charlotte says with a knowing smile. “And I’m just the Queen of England.”
Then there’s Arthur. They start chatting more, mostly joking around after he realizes she’s following his races, and she finds herself quickly warming to him. Arthur is loud, playful, and full of life, and they click almost instantly. They trade inside jokes, and after a particularly hard race, he texts her sounding completely drained.
Arthur: "Rough night. I don’t think I’m cut out for this sometimes."
You: "Hey, that’s not true. You’re amazing — you know that, right?"
Arthur: "Maybe. But sometimes it’s hard to remember. Everything feels stacked against me."
So she called him, letting him vent as he rambled about the pressures of racing, the constant comparisons to Charles, and the weight he carried. She offered gentle reassurances, reminding him of his strengths and how far he’d come.
At one point, she said softly, “Arthur, you’re going to be incredible. I know it. And you know Charles would be the first to say that too.”
After a pause, he replied, a little more lighthearted, “You know, you’re like the family therapist at this point.”
She laughed. “Guess I’m putting in overtime then.”
By the end of the call, he sounded much better, his spirits lifted, and they both promised to catch up in person soon.
But it’s when Charles is back in town that things really start to feel different. He’s even clingier than before, draping himself over her whenever he’s home, complaining dramatically about his “stolen” family.
“Honestly, I go away for two weeks, and suddenly, you’re maman’s new favorite?” he grumbles one night, leaning his head on her shoulder as they lounge on his couch. “Arthur calls you more than he calls me, you know.”
She laughs, nudging him playfully. “Oh, come on, it’s not like they’ve replaced you. Besides, you’re the one who left me with your family!”
“Yeah, but they’re my family,” he insists with a pout, his eyes gleaming with that familiar spark of mischief. “Honestly, you’re all I think about when I’m away, and then I come back, and I have to share you with everyone else? Unacceptable.”
“You poor thing,” she says mockingly, patting his cheek. “Must be so hard for you, having people who love you.”
Charles grins, leaning closer until his face is just inches from hers. “Oh, it is. I think you should make it up to me.”
The way he says it makes her heart race, and they end up tangled together until she can’t think straight. One thing leads to another, and the next morning, she playfully grumbles about needing to go back to her apartment to grab fresh clothes.
“Honestly, Charles, I swear you’ve destroyed half my wardrobe at this point,” she teased, reaching for her phone. “I don’t think I have any underwear left.”
Charles smirked from where he leaned against the doorway, still looking far too pleased with himself. “Check the top drawer of my wardrobe.”
She raised an eyebrow, giving him a curious look. “What?”
“Go on, take a look.”
Confused but intrigued, she opened the drawer, her eyes widening as she took in the sight: a stack of her clothes, neatly folded. T-shirts, a couple of sweaters, even some underwear — and her favorite bra. She gasped, lifting it up and shooting him an accusing look.
“Charles! You kept my favorite bra?”
He shrugged nonchalantly. “You leave things here all the time anyway, so I just… organized. It’s more practical this way. Now you don’t have to go all the way home every time.”
She couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face. “You made me a drawer?”
“Of course,” he said, walking up to her and wrapping his arms around her waist. “Gotta make sure my friend is comfortable.”
She rolled her eyes, feeling warmth spread through her chest. “If this is just friendship, Charles, I’d hate to see you with someone you actually care about.”
He chuckled, tilting her chin up and pressing a soft kiss to her lips. “I’d just be even worse,” he murmured, eyes sparkling.
The words, though playful, lingered with her. The closeness, the drawer, his mother’s invitations — they all hinted at something deeper than what they’d agreed on. But every time she’d try to piece together her thoughts, he’d pull her back in, and she’d find herself giving in, trying not to read into every little sign.
As things grew deeper, she found herself wrestling with her feelings more and more, unsure of where she stood. Despite the time spent together, despite the way his family had practically adopted her, she kept reminding herself that they were just friends. That’s all they’d agreed on, after all.
But Charles’s actions often left her wondering. The drawer, the constant calls, the way he made sure to always check in on her… it felt like more. And yet, whenever she started thinking like that, he’d casually brush it off with a laugh, leaving her both hopeful and hesitant.
One morning, just as he was heading out for another meeting, he casually mentioned, “Oh, by the way, Charlotte called. She wants to meet up with you tomorrow.”
She raised an eyebrow, caught off guard. “Oh? For what?”
He shrugged, buttoning up his jacket with that effortless confidence he had. “Wedding stuff, I think? She said she needed your help picking some things out.”
She blinked, surprised. “Wedding stuff? Isn’t that more… you know, family stuff?”
Charles glanced at her, looking amused by her confusion. “Exactly. That’s why she wants you there.”
Her heart stuttered, the implications of his words hitting her harder than she expected. She stood there, watching him as he finished getting ready, too shocked to find the words. Did he even realize what he’d just implied? Did he know what that invitation meant?
Unbothered by her inner turmoil, he leaned down to kiss her on the forehead. “Don’t overthink it,” he said softly, his eyes crinkling with a familiar warmth. “I’ll be back early tonight.”
And with that, he was out the door, leaving her standing there, the weight of her growing feelings settling over her like a heavy blanket.
In the silence that followed, she let out a shaky breath, her thoughts spiraling. Somewhere along the way, she’d crossed an invisible line — a line she couldn’t pretend didn’t exist anymore. She was in too deep, and for the first time, she wasn’t sure if she could keep up the pretense.

Mimic IV
McFoord x Toddler!Reader
Summary: You're a little menace with Katie
"So," Caitlin asks as she relaxes back on the bed," How is my sweet baby doing?"
Katie looks away from her phone screen to see you seated in the ensuite bathroom, shaking your water bottle over the toilet paper that you've completely unwound.
"Er...she's...She's alright."
"She's being good? Nice?"
Katie can distinctly remember you throwing your breakfast at her this morning and then screeching in her face when she tried to tell you off.
"Yeah," She lies," So good and so nice."
"And she's making sure that she's including everyone in her playing?"
Katie winces when she remembers that you'd started pushing Courtney away any time that she tried to join in on the game of tag that had been arranged for you after training.
"She's...working on it?"
You're absolutely not working on it but Katie isn't about to admit that.
"Can I talk to her?"
"Yeah, one sec." Katie mutes her phone, placing it down on her blankets as she moves to grab you. "Hey, you. Come over here."
You stare blankly at her from your spot in the middle of the bathroom. The toilet paper is all strewn around you, practically wet mulch after you've emptied the contents of your water bottle onto it.
"Come on, you little gremlin. Come here."
You bum shuffle back into your pile of paper mulch and Katie winces a little, knowing that she's now going to have to change you into a different pair of pyjamas before putting you down to sleep.
"Come on. Come here."
Katie's arms are stretched outwards to you, trying to draw you closer by wiggling her fingers.
"Come on."
You pull a face at her, features all twisted up in disgust as you look at her and you grab a handful of mulch to throw. It doesn't get very far and lands with a kind of undignified squelch on the floor between the both of you.
Katie rolls her eyes. "I...You know what? Never mind."
She sweeps you up into her arms again before you can throw something at her again.
"We're going to have a talk with Mummy, alright?"
Your face noticeably changes at the mention of Caitlin, a wide gummy smile appearing on your face as you kick your legs happily. You manage to get even happier when you see Caitlin on the screen, trying to reach out for her and press kisses onto Katie's phone.
"What is it with you, huh?" Katie teases you that evening as she tucks you into your bed," Complete menace for me but Caitlin's little angel? I don't know who you think you're fooling. She already knows what you're like."
It's a bit like when you turn into a complete little angel when the rest of the family are around too. At home, you continue with your menace behaviours like chasing the cats or pushing things off countertops or digging holes in the garden for someone to accidentally trip over. But as soon as someone who doesn't usually visits, comes around it's like you're trying to show them that you're really a little sweetheart who doesn't have a mean bone in your body.
It makes Katie look particularly silly to her parents when she's complained to them about you dropping your toys into the toilet to cause a blockage but then they come around and all you seem to want is affection from them - no hint of your snapping teeth or angry little limbs.
The change in the behaviour only seems to be with family though because you have no issue with being your usual menace self with the girls on the team.
Something that Katie is acutely aware of as she watches you try to tackle Denise, trying to force her to the ground with all of your toddler strength.
"You can just tell her to stop!" Katie calls over," Or put her back on the leash!"
"It's fine!" Denise says, standing firm even as you try to shoulder barge her to the ground," It's kind of like a kitten trying to fight."
"Not a kitten!" You deny," I...I big an' scary!"
"So big and scary," Denise laughs as she pats your head," Like a little baby wildcat."
You frown as you try to work out if that's Denise calling you a kitten again just in a different way but in the end, you can't be bothered to think about it anymore as you try to push her over even harder than before.
"You might end up with bruises," Katie warns her," Just put her on the leash. I promise, it won't hurt her feelings."
"I'm fine, really." Denise waves away her concerns. "This little one isn't causing any problems."
"Are you sure?" A distinctly not-Irish says from behind Katie," Because she's got a way of starting problems before you know it."
Katie didn't even get the chance to turn away before you'd announced the newcomer.
"Mummy! Mummy! Mummy, I miss you!"
You abandon whatever you were trying to do with Denise to go toddling straight over to Caitlin, who kneels down with her arms out to welcome you.
"Mummy! Mummy!"
"Well hi there, sweet girl," Caitlin coos as you throw yourself into her arms," You're being very cuddly right now."
"Miss you, Mummy!" You reply, curling deeper into her arms and resting your head on her shoulder.
"You're early," Katie says with a warm smile," I thought you said you would barely make it to the match."
"I managed to get an earlier flight," Caitlin replies as she drops a soft kiss to your hair," I missed my girls."

Imagine rockstar!eddie and popstar!reader and the media has pit these two against each other, saying how they hate each other when in reality it's not true at all. And during one of reader's concerts or a live stream someone tries to start something against Eddie and & reader is like "Hold on babygirl, we love Eddie here"
Omg, your mind. (While I agree with this I have a bit of a different take; hear me out)
No because like, imagine being in a band yourself with your closest friends, and you're touring with Corroded Coffin, opening for them. Being in the spot light means rumors flying left and right, it was inevitable. About you, your friends, Corroded Coffin, you and corroded coffin; it felt like there was always something being brought up whether it was true or not.
And you were nervous to tour with them because the media always paints Corroded Coffin to be these big mean and scary guys because, hello, they have this really heavy and deep metal sound (and they’re kinda tall, except for Gareth) but, just because they play metal music doesn't mean they themselves are these big scary guys; in fact they were the opposite.
No, Corroded Coffin are actually sweethearts. The sweetest, to be honest. They would hold doors for you, always make sure you and your bandmates are okay in the public eye; they basically took you and your bandmates under their wings because they wanted to show you the ropes and make sure you’re all living the dream as well.
And after that tour, you kept close ties with them, you were friends with them after all. And somehow you were always the closest to Eddie, he just had the biggest personality in corroded coffin, followed closely by Gareth. Grant and Jeff tended to keep to themselves, but that didn't change the fact that they too were the sweetest boys you had ever met; always always checking in on you. Random texts from Corroded Coffin’s members were something that happened daily it felt like; a meme, a video, a congratulations text on a new song or video coming out. It was always something with those boys, not that you or your friends were complaining.
Anyways, sometime after that tour you and your band were blowing up, becoming bigger and bigger; more songs, more tours, more livestreams to keep your fans up to date!
And one livestream Corroded Coffin got brought up, your band members laughing and recounting the memories of those boys and spending time with them.
Talking about how your first time in California you all went to the beach and Eddie forgot sunscreen and literally was so burnt to a crisp he couldn’t even play his guitar that night because wearing the strap hurt; he stood there and sang while Grant and Jeff did all the work. Talking about how the best part of tour was when Gareth broke his drum set and had to use your bands for a couple shows. Talking about how Jeff and Grant are actually the funniest people you would meet, like they’re always cracking jokes about something whether it be the time or not. (Literally, like remember when Eddie was burnt to a crisp and couldn’t play the guitar? Yeah; they said he looked like a singing and dancing lobster because his bright red shoulders, arms and face were on full display for everyone as he winced into every step he took. As they called it; “the Amanda Show called, they want their dancing lobster back!”)
That was just the start; the fans of Corroded Coffin themselves knew these boys were actually idiots and the funniest people to walk the earth, and you didn’t quite believe it until you witnessed it first hand. (But, come on, they’re idiots and nerds who play metal music; what’s not to love about them?!)
And suddenly while reminiscing on the good old days of tour while on livestream, your friend reads a comment about how Eddie is a dick, and how it appears that everyone’s hates him.
“I heard that Eddie is a dick, he’s such an arrogant asshole who only seems to think about himself and what will benefit him.”
And you whip your head around and look at the screen, raising an eyebrow; ready to defend your friend at any moment. “Oh, no, he's actually quite the opposite. He’s the funniest, sweetest, most caring person we’ve ever met; we love Eddie here. In fact, he actually texted me this morning congratulating us on our new single being out. He said it sounds so awesome, and he can’t wait to hear us play it live.”
Your friend nodded, agreeing with you. “He might look scary with that mullet and those tattoos but I promise you he is actually a giant teddy bear,” they said, nodding along to your words. “He’s a dork, let me tell you.”
“The biggest dork,” you giggled. “But, we love him just the same.”

"WHY'S THIS DEALER? TAKING THE PISS!?"
college au! hanta sero x reader
(part three)
cw: drinking, bad language, recreational drug use, reader sells bud, pussy eating, make out sessions, threesome in air quotes (denki's more of a voyeur than anything else) more like you x hanta(x denki), lots of second base action, 21st century love story, genz romcom type beat - part 2 was better and part 1 was my baby
the party is in full swing, a chaotic mishmash of too-loud music, clinking bottles, people yelling and the occasional cheer from a victorious drinking game. the air reeks of cheap beer and cheaper cologne, and there's this unspoken agreement that everyone is pretending the sticky spot on the floor isn't there. hanta's pretty sure someone just knocked over an entire plate of chips somewhere near the kitchen, and judging by bakugou's growling and yelling, it's about to get cleaned up in the most aggressive way possible.
still, he's not paying much attention to any of that.
not when he's standing near the couch with you on one side and denki on the other, grinning like he just won the lottery. hanta's not entirely sure how this happened-how he went from nursing a lukewarm beer in a corner to being wedged between you two-but he's not complaining.
the three of you were making idle talk about the party, who's a bitch, who hooked up with who, but to be perfectly honest, you have no idea what to say. you know so many cool things about sero, the type of music he likes (from his instagram highlights), that he drinks this special organic green tea every morning (from denki accidently drinking it this one time and screaming it about), that he's super into horror manga, that he likes the same movies as you, that he backstraps when he rolls, and you want him to teach you. but it's like you can't even open your mouth to say any of this to him, and denki has for sure has picked up on this.
the blonde glances at you now from across hanta, mostly out of his own surprise that neither of you two have made a move yet. he mentally rolls his eyes, you all for sure love to call him the dumb one but the only idiots he sees are the two pining next to him.
so denki, as always, is the catalyst. "sooo," he says, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet, "y'know, i was thinking..." and the both of you groan on reflex because he's got that glint in his eye, the one that usually means trouble. "we should totally play spin the bottle. or like, seven minutes in heaven or something. you guys down?"
hanta's about to protest- because really?, who even plays those anymore?- but then you laugh. it's that same laugh from the car, the one that's stuck in his head for days, and suddenly he's a little more open to the idea.
"spin the bottle, huh?" you say, leaning back against the armrest of the couch, your hood slipping slightly. "that's so middle school of you, denki.
"hey, middle school was a vibe." denki shoots back, unbothered. he plops down on the carpet in front of the coffee table and waves at the two of you to join him.
"c'monnn, it'll be fun. unless you're scared."
"you're unwell," you deadpan, but your feet follow him to where he's sat and when the smirk creeping onto your face betrays you, and denki catches it like a hawk. you glance at hanta, eyebrows raised. "you in?
"ummm," hanta hesitates, but the way you're looking at him makes it hard to say no. "-sure?"
"that's the spirit!" denki hollers, snatching an almost-empty beer bottle from the table. he's vibrating with chaotic energy as he spins it, barely waiting for it to stop before shouting, "Y'ALL JOINING OR WHAT?"
mina and kirishima are immediately in because they can smell drama from a mile away. a couple of randoms that hanta doesn't from campus join too, and suddenly there's a circle forming, powered entirely by questionable decision-making, and denki's grin widens as he sets the bottle in the middle.
the game starts innocently enough. a couple of spins lead to awkward cheek kisses, overdramatic "EWWWs" from mina, and one insanely disastrous attempt by kirishima to lips bakugou, which ends in a wrestling match that topples half the circle and flipping a table.
but then. oh, then. the bottle lands on you. or more accurately, on you and denki, because the blonde immediately grabs the bottle before it even stops spinning fully.
"alright, alright." denki says, waving his hands like he's running damage control, but his grin is devious. "we'll share."
"share?" hanta asks, an eyebrow raising. "how does that even work?"
denki, completely unfazed, points between you and hanta. "it's simple, dude. a group effort. right, babe?" he winks at you, and to hanta's surprise, you're laughing again.
hanta might actually short-circuit. "you're so stupid." you say, still laughing, but your gaze flick to hanta, and there's no denying the glint of amusement in your eyes.
"what do you say, sero? think you can handle it?"
hanta's not sure if it's the alcohol, the atmosphere, or just the way you're looking at him, but he rolls his tongue across his teeth, a lazy grin creeping onto his face and he nods. "yeah, uh, sure. why not?"
cut to: the three of you sprawled on the couch like you just collectively lost a game of jenga, but instead of wooden planks, it's your sense of dignity. the rest of the group has dispersed, denki's practically in your lap, hanta wedged inbetween, and there's entirely too much touching. it starts simple-a hand on a knee, a brush of shoulders-but then denki's dragging his fingers under hanta's hoodie, and your lips are at his neck, and holy shit, when did it get so warm in here?-
"relax, sero," denki says, low and taunting as he finally slides off of your lap, watching you trail your hands down, down, and back up hanta's chest. "we're just having fun."
"yeah," you add, your voice smooth and teasing. "you trust us, right?"
hanta inhales deeply trying not to lose his composure fixing his beanie back over his head. "yeah. of course."
he looks from you to denki before sniffing as his fingers twitch from where they're gripping the sides of your thighs, fuck he really hopes his hands aren't sweaty. he's chill guyed to close to the sun, his mouth has run dry, his social battery is depleting and to be honest he's growing a bit tired of the chaos surrounding you.
that's when denki leans in with his sly grin and nods at his bestfriend, "you wanna go for a smoke huh?" and he turns to you, "i know a spot if you don't mind supplying." and you're already on your feet not hesitating to agree. hanta nods along, his lazy smile softening at the thought of escape. the three of you slip out unnoticed, the bass of the music fading behind you as the crisp night air hit.
"god, i thought we'd never leave." you mutter, shoving your hands into your hoodie pockets checking for your phone, your lipgloss, your wallet and your bud, as denki looks over with a mock gasp.
"what, my party planning wasn't good enough for you?"
"your party planning?" you shoot back, raising an eyebrow. "you're just the guy who shows up with the aux cord and a vape. let's not overstate your role dude."
hanta snickers, shaking his head as denki gasped dramatically. "can you fuck off, hanta, tell her i'm vital to party ecosystems."
"nah she's got a point," hanta replies, his voice laced with amusement. "i don't remember seeing you do much more than yap and hit your pen."
denki groans, muttering about how no one appreciates his genius as he leads the way to a bus stop round the back of the field not far from the mina's place. the three of you settle under the secluded barely lit bus shelter. hanta rolls his own cig while you roll up the joint. you glance over at his fingers a couple times and nearly drop the roach when you watch him lick a stripe down the rolling paper.
you finish up and pass denki the joint, the first few hits were passed around in comfortable silence, as you all take a second to breathe in the crisp night air.
"alright, spill," denki says suddenly, leaning back and eyeing you. "what's your deal with sero?"
your stomach drops. "huh, what?" you replied, grasping onto what's left your pride and trying to play it cool despite the heat creeping up your neck. "what deal? i don't have a deal, there's no-"
"you're super into him."
hanta's head snaps up. "what?" he echoes, looking between the two of you.
"nothing," you say quickly, shooting denki a death glare and snatching the zoot from him. "stfu, what is wrong with," you say with a hiss.
"It's fine," denki teases, leaning into hanta with a conspiratorial whisper. "she told me earlier. said you were her dream guy and everything."
you groan, burying your face in your hands. "i actually hate you."
hanta's laugh rang out, light and easy. "is that true?" he asked, his tone teasing but warm.
you peek at him from between your fingers. his grin was wide, but his gaze was soft, genuine. it made your heart flutter, and for a moment, you forgot how to speak.
"yeah, well," you say finally, taking another hit before passing him the joint. "don't let it go to your head."
hanta smiles, a faint blush dusting his cheeks and when the point of connection where your fingertips touch shoots a spark through him. "wouldn't dream of it."
denki's cackle breaks the moment. "you guys are so cute i might puke," he says, clutching his chest dramatically. "okay, okay, let's get snacks before i lose my buzz."
the room was softly lit, the only illumination coming from the early morning sun filtering through the curtains, casting a golden hue over the tangled pile of limbs on hanta's bed. the three of you were still sleeping, basking in the warm, lazy comfort of the previous night's haze. the air smelled faintly of citrus and smoke, the lingering traces of your late-night adventures.
you stirred first, a soft hum escaping your lips as you blink against the sunlight. you stretch slightly, careful not to disturb the two boys beside you. hanta's arm was draped over your waist, his grip loose and comforting, while denki lay sprawled on his stomach, one hand brushing against your shoulder.
"morning," you whisper, your voice still thick with sleep, as you turn your head to meet hanta's warm brown eyes. he looks at you with a lazy smile, his hair mussed and sticking up at odd angles.
"morning," he replies, his voice raspy and soft, the kind of tone that sent shivers down your spine.
denki groans from his place next to you, stretching dramatically. "why is the sun so loud?" he mumbles, making you and hanta laugh.
"you're the loud one," you shoot back, chucking a pillow at him. "ow fuck." "oh don't be such a baby."
hanta's laugh rumbles in his chest, and you feel it more than heard it. the vibration was comforting, grounding you in the soft intimacy of the moment. "i think you're just mad you're not a morning person," he says, his voice still low and gravelly from sleep.
denki cracks one eye open to glare at you, though his lips quirked into a grin. "well liked it better when it was just us, the food, and the movie."
hanta's hand brushes against your hip as he shifts closer. "yeah, but this is nice too."
you feel the tension shift in the room, subtle but palpable. hanta's thumb traces a slow circle on your hip, the light touch sending sparks across your skin. denki notices, of course, his grin fading into something softer, something more curious as his gaze flicks between the two of you.
"you're touchy this morning," you tease, though your voice was quieter now, your heart picking up speed.
hanta doesn't answer right away, his lips quirking into a small, knowing smile as he leans closer. his voice barely above a whisper when he says "can't help it. you're here."
denki's eyes widen slightly, his usual cool guy act slipping for a moment. "whoa, okay, are we doing this? s this a thing now?"
you laugh again, the sound nervous but excited. "are you always this subtle?"
denki smirks, sitting up slightly. "subtlety is overrated. i'm just saying- if something's happening, i'd rather not be the clueless idiot in the room."
hanta snorts, his hand still resting on your hip. "you've never been clueless, denks."
the air grew heavier, the playful banter giving way to something more intimate. hanta's gaze meets yours, a question lingering in his expression. when you nod, his hand slides up your side, his touch firm but careful, testing the waters.
denki watches, his breathing hitching slightly as hanta leaned in to kiss you. it was slow and deliberate, his lips soft and warm.
"you okay, denki?" you ask leaning back to look at him from beside you when you and hanta finally break for air. the brief pause is just that, brief, because hanta's lips are back on yours before you can finish speaking.
"oh, i'm very okay," he replies, his grin returning as he leaned back against the pillows. "don't mind me. just... enjoying the view."
hanta has to physically pull himself off of you in order to shoot his best friend a look that was both completely exasperated and totally amused. "you think you're such a joker-"
"yeah, yeah," denki says, waving him off. "just keep going, don't let me distract you."
hanta turns his attention back to you, his hands sliding under the hem of your shirt, his touch igniting a trail of heat along your skin. he guides you onto your back, his lips finding yours again, deeper this time, more insistent. his hands roam, exploring the curves of your body with a reverence that made you swallow down a whimper.
denki shifts closer, his eyes fixed on the way hanta kisses you, his own hands twitching as if he wanted to reach out but didn't quite dare. "you guys are so hot together," he murmurs, his voice low and filled with awe.
hanta pulls back slightly, his lips swollen and his gaze dark. "you want to join, or are you just gonna sit there?"
denki blinked, clearly caught off guard, but the slow grin spreading across his face said everything. "oh, i'm in." what followed was a blur of soft laughter and heated touches. the blonde gets manhandled into sitting behind you as hanta presses you back into denki's chest. hanta's lips trail down your neck, his hands pulling your shirt up and over your head. denki leans in, his fingers brushing against your arm as he tilted your chin toward him for a kiss that was playful but electric.
when hanta slid lower, his kisses trailing down your stomach, you shiver, anticipation thrumming through you. denki's hand finds yours, his grip firm and reassuring as he watched hanta settle between your thighs. his eyes darken as he takes in the sight of you, his tongue darting out to wet his lips.
"you're beautiful," hanta murmurs, his breath warm against your skin before he presses a kiss to your inner thigh. the sensation sent a jolt of pleasure through you, as your ass jerks back and the blonde lets out a sigh as you make contact with the half-chub in his boxers. your free hand tangling into hanta's soft hair as he continued his slow, deliberate exploration.
denki's breathing grew heavier, his gaze fixed on the way hanta moved, the way you reacted. "holy shit," he whispered, his voice thick with arousal. "you're so into this, aren't you?"
you nod, unable to form words as hanta's mouth finally finds its mark, his tongue moving in deliberate, torturous strokes up your slit that left you gasping. as he ate you out with passion, grunting and groaning into your pussy, hips bucking into the mattress. denki's hand tightens around yours, his other hand resting on your knee, his touch grounding you as the pleasure built higher and higher.
hanta didn't stop, his hands gripping your hips to keep you steady as he worked you over with a skill and dedication that left you trembling. denki's eyes never left you, his own arousal evident as he leaned closer, his lips brushing against your temple in a surprisingly tender gesture.
"you're amazing y'know," he murmurs, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
when you finally come undone, your body arching off the bed and your cries muffled against denki's shoulder, hanta didn't let up until you were completely spent, twitching and whining. he pulled back, his lips glistening and his expression smug as he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.
denki let out a low whistle, his grin wide and appreciative. "damn, sero. i didn't know you was an eater like thaattttt," he turns to you "he's a keeper forreal-" you cut him off with a pillow to the face as hanta snickers, climbing back up to press a kiss to your forehead. "glad you think so."
you laugh softly, your body still buzzing as you reach for hanta pulling them both into a lazy, contented embrace. the three of you stayed like that, tangled together in the warm morning light, the world outside forgotten as you basked in the easy intimacy of the moment.

Somnus made a move that blossomed a smile on her face. It tickled her that he played right into her risk-taking — she looked more pleased than a cat who got the canary when she claimed that piece. She was honestly too puffed up happy to consider the reason behind his play.
Aerith had stepped into his territory. She would probably soon realise where she had landed herself, all while talking his ear off.
"Cute that you think you're winning." she shot back, far too proud as she motioned to him for his turn.
"Ouhf. My arms hurt just thinking about it." she then half-heartedly complained. She would rather climb a mossy wall slick from morning fog than be stuck at the mortar and pestle grinding away. "My favourite is called the forest banquet, and I think we call it that because it's only something you would serve at a banquet. It can be made with boar but venison is best." If she wasn't careful she'd end up explaining the whole process and bore him to tears. "The main parts are you have to grind up everything in the marinade until it's smooth. It doesn't work otherwise, and you have to make so much of it to cover the dish too, it's such a pain. Then the meat has to marinate for days. Someone has to keep turning it so all of it remains well coated. It's so good though."
She sat back a little in her chair and shifted from watching his hands as he contemplated his next move, to actually looking up to his face. Did he not realise how verbal his hands were? It was... kind of endearing.
As he got more serious her own expression gentled. If he tried to tell her this in the morning, she probably wouldn't have been as open to listen. Because then, it would have felt... like politics... but here and now, it felt real. It felt human. They were connecting and she believed in his words, even exhaled a small amused breath through her nose when he brought up the dragon.
"Your way?" she naturally asked, giving a curious tilt of her head. There were still more mysteries about him. She knew little of his abilities, even if part of his magic had travelled up her arm, she didn't know what he was capable of.
Aerith's posture straightened a little, and she half-turned to briefly look over to Nidhogg who still had a half-lidded eye trained on them. She turned back with an almost guilty smile. "For what it's worth, I didn't mean to surprise you with the dragon either. I'm a bit protective of him, I don't like to introduce him to just anyone, not unless I have to. I was going to warn you about him but it didn't feel like the right time." Then... Nidhogg just dropped in.
Aerith wasn’t the first princess he met. Far from it. And with Aera around, Somnus felt that most princesses had been similar to her. Maybe behind their walls they all were different, but usually there was a healthy distance und just exchanges of formal pleasantries. Like the court rules foresaw.
With her though? She just talked. And made him talk.
She claimed she had a hand in the relationship of the queen and king. She did not fault him for hunting, even if she did not like meat so much. She knew she was cheating with her abilities to fish. She was so open about everything and offered perspectives that were… refreshing. That did not fit into the very strict and oldschool views the court here often applied to everything.
Somnus eyed the chess board for a moment. She was baiting him, wasn’t she? But he would do as she wished. With a smile, he slowly lifted the figure on his side that she apparently intended to strike next.
“Well. You will have to tell me about your favourite labour-intensive meal dish now. And of course you will have to show me the fishing trick after I won here.”
And he sat the figure down, gesturing towards her then.
“The ocean… it’s beautiful. Wild. So endlessly more than a lake or river. I need to show it to you...”
Though this had him leaning back a bit, the smile fading for a more serious expression.
“Yesterday evening, when we were by the cliffs… Aerith, I did not intend to lead you on, or what ever it is you believed. I was just- I was afraid you would actually try to climb down there and would end up hurt. Back then I did not know you could climb any wall. Or control plants and water. I also did not know your family had a dragon, which they would probably have gladly fed me to, if you had gotten injured in my company.”
The last sentence painted a little streak of mischief into his eyes again.
“I wanted to get you down there – but… safer. My way.”

All That Matters
Requested by anonymous: "Alright, could you write Luca with a younger reader (25-28 yes old). She's super sweet and bubbly, basically just a sunny disposition. People think she's too young for him/he's too old for her, like especially her family. She grew up really seeking their approval, like she has a problem trying to make other people happy even if it leaves her exhausted, sad, or uncomfortable. but she won't compromise her happiness this time for anyone because she really loves Luca. Sorry if that's too much. I really love your writing" AND a request that I lost about Luca meeting his shy/innocent girlfriend on the beach and keeping their relationship private
Pairing: Dominique Luca x younger!fem!reader
Summary: You're sweet, bubbly, and perfect for Luca. When people begin judging your relationship because of the age gap, you decide that you, Luca, and the love between you are all that matters.
Warnings: age gap, fluff, brief angst, parental judgement
Word Count: 2.0k+ words
A/N: Thanks for the kind words, anon! And sorry to the other anon whose ask I lost; I hope I remembered the gist of it. :)
“What’d you think of that one, sweetheart?”
Luca looks up from his surfboard when he hears the question. It sounds wrong like the man in the wetsuit is calling someone sweetheart when he shouldn’t be. The word is dripping in condescension, and Luca is prepared to stand up for the woman being addressed with the sarcastic and likely uninvited pet name.
“It was really good!” you reply, smiling brightly.
Immediately, Luca regrets turning his attention away from his board. He’s quickly convinced he can never get it back from you. You playfully shove the surfer, who grips his arm like he’s in incredible pain. At least she’s okay, Luca thinks as he tries to focus on prepping his board for his morning surf.
“Peters was looking at you again,” the man with you complains.
“Why?” you inquire, using your heel to trace a shape in the sand.
With a sigh, he replies, “Don’t worry about it. I’m going back in. Pay attention long enough to give me some honest feedback?”
“You’re always good,” you assure him. “But I’ll try.”
Luca stands and lifts his board while your friend runs into the surf again.
“Good morning,” you greet as he nears you.
“Morning,” Luca replies with a smile. “How’s the surf look today?”
Nodding, you look at the water and say, “Good. Offshore breeze should help, water’s glassier than it was yesterday, and the wave shapes have been nice.”
“You know your stuff.”
You look down at the sand, and Luca decides then he’d love to get to know you.
“I’m Luca,” he says, dropping the end of his board to shake your hand.
“Luca!” your friend calls as he returns from a wave you didn’t witness. “I thought I recognized that board.”
“And I should have recognized the hair,” Luca replies, fist-bumping him.
“How do you two know each other?” you inquire.
They both look pointedly at their boards, and you roll your eyes.
“Better question is, how do you two know each other?” Luca questions.
“He’s my neighbor,” you explain. “He’s trying to ‘get me out of my shell.’ His words.”
“It’s working!” he defends. “You wouldn’t have talked to a stranger on the beach six months ago.”
You lower your voice to confide in Luca, “That’s true.”
“Excuse me,” your neighbor asks, marching toward a surfer you recognize: Peters.
“He doesn’t like Peters looking at you?” Luca deduces.
“I don’t know why,” you say with a shrug. “Good luck surfing. Or have fun, whatever the right phrase is for non-competitive wave riding.”
“Either works. And between you and me, it’s because you deserve better than Peters.”
You look down again, but you’re smiling, so Luca decides to use this opportunity like a perfect wave and ride it for as long as possible.
“Would you like to get dinner with me?” he proposes.
Looking up, you answer, “I’d love to.”
That evening, Luca glances at his watch while Street and Tan argue about which restaurant makes better cheesecake. He needs to leave now, or he’ll be late to your first date, and while you seem incredibly sweet and would probably understand, that isn’t how he wants to start a relationship with you.
“Guys, I’m gonna head out!” he calls, pointing over his shoulder.
“What? Why?” Street inquires. “We’re going to your favorite place!”
“You don’t know what my favorite place is, Streeter. And the waves are going to be perfect in the morning, so I need some rest. Have fun!”
After he leaves his team, he meets you at an oceanside restaurant and takes your hand as you’re led to a table on the deck. The more you talk and open up, Luca realizes that you’re not only sweet, you’re downright bubbly, and possess a sunny disposition about everything in the world. Yes, you’re innocent and can be shy, but you open up to Luca. He knows he was right this morning, and he needs to know everything about you.
Four Months Later
“Pretty dress,” your mother compliments at family dinner.
“Thank you! Luca got it for me,” you reply, holding the skirt as you look down at the dainty details lining the top.
“You’re still with him?” your father inquires. “Sweetheart, I’m glad you’re happy but you are too young for him.”
Your mom lays her hand on his arm as she amends, “He’s quite a bit older than you.”
You swallow harshly, fighting the urge to do something that will regain their approval. You’ve been trying to make them happy your entire life, and when they continuously bring up the age difference between you and Luca, it makes you sad.
“Why don’t you go out with that neighbor of yours?” your mother suggests. “The surfer with the pretty hair?”
Because then you’d complain there’s too much sand in my house. Rather than voicing that opinion, you remind her, “He has a fiancé. And she’s one of my best friends.”
“Maybe I can set you up with a son of one of my buddies,” your father says.
You nod, picking at the appetizer on your plate with no trace of your usual smile. Being aware that you’re a people pleaser doesn’t make dealing with the emotions of disappointing someone any easier.
“I’m happy,” you say softly.
“For now,” your father grumbles.
You decide to change the topic, and as the night goes on, the heaviness in your stomach seems to weigh you down. When you return home, you’re inexplicably exhausted, sad with yourself and your parents, and uncomfortable. You never feel like this with Luca because he accepts you for who you are and doesn’t take advantage of your tendencies to do all you can and more for others. It’s one of the many reasons you love him.
As you lie awake in bed, you make a decision. Your happiness is the only thing that matters. And starting now, you will not compromise your happiness or relationship for anyone. You’ll do it for yourself and for Luca.
“How’d your dinner go?” Luca inquires, brushing a stray hair from your face.
You shrug, and Luca brushes his lips against your temple.
“I don’t want to disappoint them,” you admit. “But I don’t want to put us at risk to do that.”
“Do you care about the age gap?”
“Of course not!”
“Then that’s what’s important. Everything is up to you. I know it’s not easy to hear and even harder to put it into practice but doing what makes you happy is the only way you’ll get what you deserve. You’re sacrificing yourself for others.”
“I just don’t understand why they can’t accept that you make me happy. They don’t care that I love you.”
Luca’s brows raise as he smiles. You realize what you admitted but can’t ask if he’s okay with you saying it before Luca pulls you into a hug that makes all your worries and discomfort disappear.
Luca’s phone buzzes during a sparring match. When he remembers that you are one of the few people who can reach him while he’s at the station, he calls timeout. Ignoring Street’s protests, he lifts his phone and reads the message.
“I gotta go,” he tells his team. “Family thing.”
“You’ve been having a lot of family things,” Deacon says.
“Just tell us what’s going on, man,” Hondo invites. “You know we’re here for you. Don’t have to keep sneakin’ off if you let us help.”
“I…” Luca hesitates, then says, “I don’t know if you can help me get my future in-laws to like me.”
Deacon and Hondo’s jaws drop, and Street snatches Luca’s truck keys out of his hand.
“We’re meeting her right now,” he declares. “Wasn’t a question either, and I can beat you if you try to take these keys back.”
“She’s not feeling great right now,” Luca argues. “Next time.”
Tan pulls Luca’s phone from his hand and taps the message. Luca tries to get his phone back, but Hondo reaches it first. Lifting it to his ear, he raises his hand toward Luca and says, “It’s ringing.”
Luca stops. He’s almost sure you will hang up when you realize it isn’t him calling, but Hondo has a way of disarming people, and you already see the best in everyone you meet.
“Hi,” Hondo greets. “My name is Daniel Harrelson; I work with Luca.” He smiles and holds Luca’s gaze as he says, “Yes, I am Hondo. And Luca is fine. My team and I just wanted to ask if we can finally meet you. Luca hasn’t said a word about you.”
Hondo ends the call a moment later and returns Luca’s phone without a word.
“She said she’ll have coffee and desserts ready when we get there.”
“Watch him,” Deacon warns Luca.
“Alright,” Luca says. He chuckles and shakes his head before inviting his team to follow him to your house. He doesn’t mention that you’re young, sunny, or nearly perfect, but he’s sure they’ll realize quickly. If they disapprove of the relationship, Luca may have to make the hardest decision of his life.
Hondo, Deacon, Street, and Tan watch as you greet Luca at the door. They realize imediately that Luca is in love. Not like the love he’s claimed to be in before, but really, truly, madly in love. What makes Deacon smile is that you are, too. Three of the four men on your walkway don’t notice that you’re younger than Luca, at least not right away. The fourth notices, but only to make well-meaning jokes and take jabs at Luca while they bicker.
“Nice to meet you all,” you say after introductions. “Luca’s told me a lot about you.”
Luca cuts in before Hondo can remind you that they haven’t heard about the relationship.
“We kept the relationship private,” he explains.
“He means he decided to keep me from any possible judgement,” you explain. “I’m getting enough grief from my parents about the age gap without inviting more people to comment on it.”
“I mean I wasn’t going to say anything,” Street begins.
“Then don’t,” Deacon interjects. “He’s kidding.”
Tilting your head, you look at Street, then say, “You’re funny.”
“If you ever get tired of Luca or he throws his back out surfing or something, I’m right here.”
“And you said I’d have to worry about Hondo,” Luca murmurs to Deacon.
“What is that wonderful smell?” Hondo inquires.
“Maybe it’s both of them,” Deacon replies.
“I made some scones, chocolate chip muffins, and brownie bites this morning,” you remember excitedly. “There’s also fresh-brewed coffee. Follow me.”
Luca watches as his team gets to know you. They support the relationship - which they ensure they voice to Luca upon returning to the station - and clearly appreciate your sweet and bright personality. It’s a welcome light in their sometimes dim day-to-day lives.
“So, what are you doing about the parents?” Street inquires as he reaches for another brownie. “If you decide to cut them loose, Deacon and Annie would probably adopt you.”
You look to Deacon, smiling as you expect a deadpanned response that will make you laugh.
“Annie’s going to love you,” he begins. “So, I actually don’t have a response to that because it probably would happen.”
“I think you should just introduce Luca to your parents,” Hondo says, breaking a muffin into smaller pieces. “If we can see how happy the two of you are together, anyone can.”
You look to Luca and decide to do just that. It won’t be an overnight change, but if they see that you love him, they’ll grow to accept him. You and Luca are the only people that matter in your relationship, and you’re happy with him and him alone.
“When’s your birthday?” Tan asks. “We’ll add it to the calendar.”
“What calendar?” you ask.
“The family calendar,” Luca tells you. “I wasn’t kidding when I said if they like you you’re stuck with them.”
Smiling, you ask, “What else is on the calendar?”
“Not your parents’ birthdays!” Street exclaims from the living room, looking at your pictures.

I wasn't aware of the discussions around Eramis being that rancid, personally (although I tend not to look at online discussion around media in general, thanks to how skin-deep at best much of it tends to be).
But the way you've talked about it makes me wonder how much of the people complaining about Eramis's character development are coming at it from a dislike of the idea of that redemption being a thing at all- the perspective that Doing Bad Things makes someone A Bad Person who can no longer be A Good Person, essentially. Seems like that mentality has grown... if not more common, at least louder, over time.
(Although your comment about not seeing why they'd 'pull a shocking twist for the sake of pulling a shocking twist to spite the audience' is a little funny in a sad way, considering how many people seem to think "outwit the audience and surprise them" is more important than "tell a coherent story as well as possible", even changing things if a twist is leaked, even if whatever they change it to makes no damn sense.)
It's really bad out there and it's strange for the exact reason you listed, because the same communities have previously entertained redemption ideas about characters like Calus and even Clovis; characters who have never expressed any wish to change or any beliefs that they may be in the wrong, no regrets and no remorse for what they've done.
So I can't even figure out if this with Eramis is about not wanting redemption stories. I think it's more about Eramis herself; not only is she a female character, but she's very largely and easily misunderstood. A lot of people's interaction with Beyond Light was... not entirely invested (a lot of the community was at the time mad about vaulting and hated everything new on principle), and her other storylines are in seasonal content that's gone now and that was almost universally hated; she was brought back in Plunder and then reappeared briefly in Defiance. A lot of people approached her from the get-go as "just some villain we will kill in the campaign" and then that didn't happen and these people were confused because they never paid any attention to her story. And then by the end of it, it just kinda slipped them by.
I don't know honestly. I may be overthinking it, but I definitely think that a lack of understanding of her story plays a huge role. Whether that's because they missed her story or just didn't pay attention to it or just had no interest in it - and nobody online they interact with offered any insight into her character (lore youtube) - they just don't get what's the fuss and they don't care about her. Some might say this is because the game didn't make people want to care, but I simply disagree. While I enjoy Eliksni stories, they're by far not at the top of my list of favourite things in Destiny so I don't have any special attachment to Eliksni characters, I didn't know Eramis before BL and I was never a diehard fan of her, but I understood her story and what they wanted to do with her for the past 4 years.
And I was happy that she got her character arc completed as was intended. I saw where it was going and this solution is the only one that made sense to me. So I don't think the whole "the game didn't make me care enough because it was badly set up" really holds water. The game can't put thoughts into your brain, sometimes you have to actually think about characters for yourself. Like, we shouldn't have to be spoon-fed that hard. Her arc and the setup was clear and it was written into the game's story, a lot of it even outside of lore books ("It was just in the lore books!" is a major complaint a lot of the time, and one I personally find baffling. You're in the Lore Books The Game. If you don't like lore being in lore books, you're in the wrong place).
We could honestly discuss this to no end, and everyone who dislikes Eramis or the conclusion to her story would probably have a different reason for it, or there would at least be a couple of them, not wanting redemption included. Could also be a combination - not understanding her story will lead a lot of people to think that her being redeemed makes no sense and that it wasn't supposed to happen.
I think it's also a case of people having a really hard time understanding that a character can be our ally while still hating our guts. I've seen plenty of comments from people saying they're annoyed about Eramis constantly being antagonistic towards us. This is baffling to me, because again, it makes sense that she doesn't like us. And it would be bizarre if all Eliksni were now suddenly fans of humanity like a hivemind. Some will never like us. This is good. They will still help us because there's bigger fish to fry, but they don't have to like us.
Eramis was a delight this episode to me and she was a really interesting character. She wasn't a huge deal overall and some of her story was fairly on the sidelines, but she was a very unique "villain" and antagonist to us since she was introduced and I think that her character arc was very well done all things considered. This amount of resistance and dislike for her from the wider community is something I simply can't see as anything other than a lack of understanding of the story (personal reasons and stuff like "I get it, I just don't really care that much" not included).
#destiny 2#destiny 2 spoilers#revenant#revenant spoilers#eramis#ask#long post#went off again but i'm also really interested in the reasoning and i can never figure it out#the commentary almost always boils down to “i don't like it because i don't get it.”#but there could be other reasons. i definitely think that eramis being so antagonistic towards us (while being female) plays a role

I don't want you to just ask me for permission to use the bathroom. I want you begging, pleading, telling me every little detail of how badly you have to go, how you don't think you can hold it much longer. Persuade me. Tell me how much you've had to drink and how long it's been since your bladder has last had relief. Tell me how good you've been, staying nice and hydrated, not even thinking about asking for the restroom until you're squirming and your bladder is heavy in your abdomen. Let me feel it. Let me run my hand over it and test how firm it is, pressing down on it, poking and prodding it to make sure it's full enough to warrant mercy.
Cross your legs and shove your hands between your thighs if you need to, but don't you dare complain. You know that I get to do what I want. You, you wouldn't know what to do with that kind of control. You're better like this: a submissive little thing who knows your place, who knows that you couldn't possibly tell what your body really needs, who knows that you need someone else to tell you what you deserve and when.
You're going to have an accident? It has been an awfully long time since you last went. And you have had so much to drink. I can see you trembling, your eyes welling up with tears from how badly you think you need it, the way you're holding yourself like the pressure is the only thing keeping it all from coming out. Wow, you do feel pretty full. All that liquid making your bladder nice and firm under my touch, making it swell out, bulging as it tries to make room to hold more. Tell me how much you need it, again? Enough that it aches? Enough that you feel like you're going to explode?
Hmm. Well, your bladder seems to have been able to fit it all so far. Have another glass of water and come back to me in 20 minutes. Maybe you'll deserve some relief then.

ft. eustass kid x gn!reader !
content: today is your captain's birthday, so why not surprise him with a gift? oh right, you don't get along. genre: fluff, a bit of angst [?] warnings: just Kid being an asshole Kid, cursing, called you brat one time [sorry]; also kisses [!] c/w: 1.95 k a/n: so, happy birthday to my little red head right there again >:D
"And what should it be?"
A mechanical bird was in his hand, or at least, it was supposed to represent that: you had noticed that building a model wasn't as easy as you thought. You sighed "It's a falcon..." you muttered. He was looking at it with curiosity and perhaps even a note of confusion at your statement. "This could be anything but not a falcon."
Ah, it didn't go as well as you hoped, you can see, he doesn't even like it. You sniffled and played with your fingers “Do you… like it?” Kid looked up for a moment before turning it back to the model and turning it over several times "It's odd, that's for sure." He took what must have been his wing and tried to spread it. You saw a small wheel fall off but you kicked it away with your foot before he noticed. "So that's a no."
He put it down on the coffee table and crossed his arms, a little confused. "Now, I never said I hated it."
You pouted at him in response. “But you thought so.” You lowered your gaze so as not to meet his and clenched your fists. You had the feeling that he was getting nervous at your insistence, but you continued "You're only saying that so I don't complain." You could feel a certain tension in the air, but you didn't think much of it, after all it could just be the heat... ok, it wasn't actually hot, hell, it was the middle of winter, but it didn't matter, you wanted to continue. "Nothing ever works for you. I make you a sandwich, and it's too thin for you. You wonder how you are, and you yell at me. I try to do anything, and it's too thin for you. In short, for you it's always my fault! You know, I almost think you're- huh?!" You felt a strong hand grip your jaw that made you look up, showing you an angry expression. Ah, typical of him. You almost like it...
No, bad brain, don't see him like that!
Seriously, you feel nothing for your captain, in fact you kind of hate him, you hate the fact that every time you worry about him he starts yelling at you that you're calling him weak that way, you hate the fact that anything you do is never enough for him, you hate the fact that he rewards others but not you for hard work. As much as you hate the fact that you never get rewarded, you hate the fact that he doesn't even notice you. You're just his subordinate after all, sure, one who cares about his health, but still a subordinate. "So what now? Are you gonna punch me?" You challenged him. You almost didn't care anymore if you were trying to be nice until recently, to hell with him and his damn birthday.
He tilted his head slightly, seeming impressed by this display of courage. It makes him chuckle "Oh, are you challenging me now brat?" He tightens his grip on it, but finally lets go, looking at you amused. "You're kind of funny, you know? Funny, but stupid."
This one hurt pretty bad, so you decided to punch him in the stomach. All you got was a slight gasp from him, and an annoyed grimace. This time he grabbed you by the collar and lifted you up, making you kick in the air "Put me down!" He shook his head as he smirked "No." This was another thing you hated about your captain, his rudeness, his ways of acting and teasing. You hate that he's rude to you, you hate that he always blames you for someone else's mistake. You hate that he made you think you were just dead weight on his ship. His teasing. You hate him. "Please captain..." Words you were ashamed of, words that made you feel weak and small in front of him. As if you were useless in his eyes. He frowned but then immediately started laughing "Please?" He didn't put you down at all, in fact, he simply took a nail and stuck it in the collar of your shirt, piercing it, and then put it on the wall, leaving you suspended there. He chuckled "Now, would you like to telle why are you acting like this today? If you tell me, I may decide to put you down from there." The way he said it, it sounded like he was holding off on throwing you overboard for your earlier insubordination. Strangely, he was keeping calm, and it worried you quite a bit. What did he have in mind?
You huffed. You already told him and he knew it, just why he wanted you to repeat yourself? It was just to tease you a little more. "You're being an asshole everytime I try to talk to you" you muttered "Just why you always act like this with me? It seems like you hate me... I hate you." He probably didn't expect this, you could tell by his surprised expression, and the fact that with his devil fruit he had just knocked the nail out of the wall, making you fall to the ground. "...Ouch." you gasped, trying to get to your feet, but he was much faster, grabbing your arm and yanking you up again. Here we go again, with you lifted up in the air like a rag doll. "The fuck did you just said?!" You stuttered, not knowing what to say. Why was he suddenly yelling at you, again?
"So you hate me?" He asked almost in an accusatory tone, perhaps more annoyed. The situation wasn't exactly the best you could say, and now it really seemed about to throw you into the sea. "You're really testing my patience y'know?" He pulled you closer, too close in your opinion. "What are you doing now..." you mumbled, now you were scared for real. "Listen, I don't know what do you think to do, just- just let this fi-" You hadn't managed to finish your sentence before you felt something warm on your lips. It's him.
...Were these really his lips or was it just your imagination?
You felt stunned by his action, not reacting at all. It was strangely... soft as a kiss, almost like he was trying not to break you. It's strange of him, you imagined him as a rude person in that too, but apparently you were wrong. He pulled away and looked at you with the usual expression of an angry person... a little more softened. "Do you hate me?" He asked. You felt the heat in your body increase a little, like it was for the embarassment you felt at the moment, but anyway you tried to replay "No captain..." You muttered. Damn, you wanted to still say yes but you said you didn't just because of a kiss? He was doing something to you, that was sure. He smirked "Good." He put you on the ground and pushed you slightly towards the door "Now go, before I change my mind and throw you into the sea."
You gasped and got out of there as fast as you could, closing the door behind you. You sighed and clenched your fists.
Damn, you hate him so much.
-ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ--ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ--ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ--ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ-
You hear the soft ticking of the watch you bought on the island you guys landed on earlier, accompanying the sound of the waves. The day was now over, the sky was dark and you finally had some time for yourself. Your crewmates were all supposed to be in bed at the time, so you were sure no one would bother you. At least that's what you thought.
Lying on top of the figurehead, you heard footsteps approaching and sighed "Leave me alone Killer..." she muttered without looking at the person who had finally climbed onto the figurehead. The person behind you snorted "I'm not Killer."
You gasped, sit and turned to look at him this time. The captain looked at you with his arms crossed over his chest. God, he the last person you wanted to see at that moment. You huffed yourself and looked away, looking at the sea instead. You didn't want to see him, especially not after what had happened earlier in the day. You heard him come closer and he stood next to you “Hey.” You could feel his gaze on you, he sure wasn't very happy. As usual, after all. "Eyes on me." He growled. This time you looked up directly at him. You wanted to tell him to leave, you wanted to shout at him. you wanted to tell him that you hated him, you hated the way he treated you. But you didn't. "What are you doing here?" You asked, but it wasn't like you were really interested. "Just checking a crewmate, wasn't that obvious?" He replied. Always that damn way of talking, as if he was telling you something that was obvious and that you were too stupid to see. And you knew you weren't, but he made you feel that way. You sighed again. "It's for the thing that happened before?"
He chuckled. What was that funny, you didn't know it. He sat down and also began to look at the sea. "Maybe..." he said indifferently. His gaze fell on your still distracted face, almost as if he were memorizing it. “Did you… like it?” You took a quick look at him before looking away again. All you wanted was to forget what had happened and have some peace, but here he was, making you remember the previous events. You could feel your body heating up, this time you knew full well it wasn't the heat. You coughed "The sea is beautiful, isn't it?"
He tilted his head and growled "Don't try to avoid the question."
You tried to argue, but quickly shut up about it. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to piss off your captain even more, you thought, you might as well answer him. You sighed “…Maybe.” you said. You noticed a slight smile emerge on his face. You had to admit, he was pretty handsome when he was smiling...
Bad brain, what did I said before?!
You snapped out of your thoughts, trying to distract yourself from the fact that you were seeing him the wrong way, and all because of one kiss. Damn... You heard him laugh at your response, slowly turning into a light chuckle and a sigh "I don't hate you, you know?" he said suddenly, making you jump. Oh, that definitely surprised you. The boy next to you, the one who got angry at everything you did, who threatened and killed people who laughed at him... didn't hate you? That was new. "Off on the wrong foot?" You whispered and he laughed in response - again. "We can say it."
It's like it was suddenly easier to interact with him after that. You felt like you had freed yourself from a burden after a long time that you had difficulty freeing yourself from, you were lighter, finally. It was like spending the night in the figurehead watching the sea and the stars while everyone slept, together and in silence so as not to disturb the silence that surrounded the landscape. Just what you two did, sleeping during that time peacefully, without the anxiety of being thrown into the sea. A pair of arms wrapping around you, one as cold as metal. It's metal, you recognized it, you knew who it belonged to, but you didn't move away.
Maybe and just maybe, you didn't hate him at all.

Happy new year :)
So I finally got to read the new chapter today, and I just - want Childe to ask Zhongli outright why everyone thinks he's human, when he isn't. Obviously, he wouldn't ask that on purpose, but maybe just blurt it out?
Hopefully, Zhongli would notice that Childe doesn't care at all that he isn't human, and he could just be himself with him without having to censor his reactions.
Zhongli seriously needs someone besides Qiqi to be himself with and talk about all that. Childe would have the added bonus that he didn't know Zhongli as Rex Lapis, and while it would trip him up for a bit, he would just go on with life and treat him no differently.
Though all revelations regarding his nature as a dragon will have to wait until after they return from their trip.
As always, thx for sharing your fantastic writing!
genuinely i think if the gang had a couple doses less respect towards zhongli n they started thinking abt intervening on his whole- he looks tired and stressed deal, THEN childe might actually blurt something out if he happens to be there as an intervention is taking place
kinda like,
zhongli: what do you mean i cannot leave the house. i have things i must do guizhong: you need to take a day off! have you considered the spa? a massage? you look stressed hu tao: yeah, can't have you coming in to work like you're dead on your feet zhongli: i assure you i'm fine ping yan: yeah but you don't really believe it, do you? you look like shit my man guizhong: you're not getting out of here until i see you take like at least a couple of days off to just relax around the house! ping yan: oh- one of the girls from student management does call-on massages! hu tao: wait that's great! we could get him a massage! he looks ultra tense! zhongli, mildly concerned now: uh- what- guizhong: i think i still have some nice coconut oil somewhere in the bathroom, this is a great idea! zhongli, hearing the word 'oil', alarmed: i really don't- hu tao: oh sush you! you're the one that got into this situation by being a workaholic, you have no right to complain now! childe: oh my god- first of all rude, second- why do you all just keep treating him like he's gonna collapse?? guizhong: because he will??? childe: no??? are you blind?? you can't just apply human logic to this, have you actually thought of asking him how he's doing?? ping yan: tf you mean 'human logic'?????????? guizhong: he says he's fine but we can all see he's not, so there's no point in asking him when he's just gonna try to pretend he's not stressed childe, realizing they haven't actually asked him, realizing they don't believe the man anyway (!!), and realizing they haven't noticed he's Not Human (???): oh my god. how are you the one who's known him the longest

He's a child, Natasha's brain screams as Spider-Man tries to stand up, shaking and trembling in the cold, he's just a child.
The snow continues to fall. The blood continues to spread, but not as quickly—healing factor, right. She glances around. There's no one else coming to help him, and nothing that could stop her from finishing this now. She can hear the part of her obsessed with survival urging her to do it, just finish it, but the child in front of her is freezing and injured.
"Wait," he cries as she surges forward, wrapping her arms around him, "I can—we can talk about this, can't we?"
"Who protects you?"
"W-what?"
"Who protects you," she demands, "who looks after you?"
"I, uh—"
No one. No one protects this child. No one takes care of him.
She spends about thirty second thinking about this before she realizes Yelena's going to have a field day after the hard time she's given her sister about bringing home strays.
"You're coming with me."
***
Natasha sets the baby spider down in the car, shushing him lightly as she walks around to the other side. The baby spider's eyes are wide, almost pressing himself against the window in an attempt to follow her around the car.
"It's okay," she murmurs as she shuts the door, "I'm right here, I'm not leaving."
In the few minutes since she'd announced she was keeping him, the kid had transformed from the quippy, sarcastic thorn in her side to just a scared child. The switch was jarring and heartbreaking and she grits her jaw, forcing the tension from her shoulders and reaching over. The baby spider clutches as the hand she offers him, drawing it up under his chin like a comfort teddy. Natasha swallows, brushing her thumb against his jaw.
"Are you hungry?"
"Huh?"
"Are you hungry, baby spider," she asks again, "can we get you something to eat?"
The baby spider shakes his head. "'M fine."
"That wasn't what I asked," she says as gently as possible. "do you want some food?"
The kid stares at her, every bit a stray dog too scared to eat. Natasha waits patiently—well, as patiently as she can—for him to slowly nod.
"Yeah? Food sound good? You have any idea of what you want?"
"…I can choose?"
Yelena's young face flashes in her mind. The sudden wonder and fear of being able to choose what they did, what they ate, where they went. Her gut clenches and she squeezes his hand in hers.
"Yeah, baby spider, you can pick."
The kid fidgets, looking at the ground. "Can…can we go to the fast food place near the train station?"
"Good choice. I've been craving fries."
"R-really?"
"Yeah," she says. lightly squeezing his fingers again. "Can I have my hand back for a second? I just need to get the car started."
The baby spider slowly lets go, watching Natasha's hand like it was his favorite toy being taken away. His face is so round, so soft, so young…
Oh, someone's hurt you like that too, have they? Did that happen to you too?
Natasha quickly starts the car and held out her hand again, glancing over with a smile as the kid latches onto it again. She drives slowly, eyes on the road, unable to keep her gaze from flicking over to see him.
He's so small.
Okay, I have a kid now. Another kid now. Shit, I don't know how to raise a kid that isn't Yelena. What if he expects me to explain how to get a real job? I don't fucking know how to be a real adult that isn't lying about everything.
A darker voice whispers how this child might expect an adult to behave and she scowls.
Nope. Fuck it. I'm not fucking up this kid. We're doing the sappy shit first and adulting shit later.
She was definitely going to have to call the therapist she'd used to help Yelena get to sleep again.
They pull into the drive-through, glancing at the menu. She looks over to ask what the baby spider wants only to see his eyes so wide the whites are visible.
"…see something you've always wanted to try?"
"The number 6," the baby spider rattles off, "with a large Sprite and an extra fry."
His eyes widen even more, as if suddenly aware of what he just said, only for Natasha to laugh.
"That sound good, baby spider." They pull up to the speaker. "Two number 6's with large Sprites and two extra fries."
Other great thing about fast food places apart from letting the baby spider be a goddamned kid for once: dirt cheap but really fucking good.
"So," she asks as she sets the food beneath the kid's seat, "where's your favorite place to hang out?"
"Hang out?"
"Yeah, just to sit or something when you're out and about."
"Um…"
The baby spider squirms in the car seat. His hands bundle up in his lap, eyes beginning to glaze over.
"Or," Natasha says quickly, "I can take you to my favorite spot and we can eat there?"
The kid nods quickly. She smiles and nods to the food.
"If you're hungry, go ahead. I don't mind."
"But shouldn't I wait for you?"
"Good point." She reaches over and grabs a fry. "There. Go nuts, baby spider."
She pulls away, trying to keep her eyes on the road to give the kid privacy, unable to stop herself from stealing little peeks over to see if he was actually eating. It takes far too long for the baby spider to follow in her example and take a fry, but the pleased look on his face makes up for it.
They come to a stop near the lookout tower at the top of the hillside. Beneath them, the gravel crunches under the tires as the car shifts into park. The kid glances around.
"Are we allowed to be here?"
Natasha looks over and winks. "I won't tell if you won't."
She grabs one of the drinks and a bag of food, getting out of the car and heading for one of the large flat rocks.
"C'mon, baby spider. Let's get some food in you."
She hears a gasp behind her and hides a smile. The city sprawls out beneath them, glittering lights as far as the eye could see. Reds, yellows, blues, and all sorts of colors in between flash by underneath the sky, a bright moon hanging suspended in the inky blackness.
She remembers her first time up here too, her and Yelena…
"Come sit. View isn't going anywhere."
They each peel back paper wrappers and stuff themselves with greasy food, hunting around for the few napkins that had been tossed haphazardly aside. The night air fills with obnoxious slurping as they drain their drinks and ball up the trash.
"Is this your favorite spot?"
"Sure is." Natasha leans back on her hands. "Not a better view in the city."
"I don't know," the baby spider says quietly, "I think the view from the top of WJYOP Tower's pretty sweet."
She glances over and ruffles the kid's hair. "Guess you're gonna have to show me sometime."
The kid's face falls and he fidgets with a stray napkin. "Why're you being nice to me?"
Natasha lets out a long breath. "Because someone's gotta be, baby spider, and whoever's responsible for hurting you like that clearly isn't."
"Hurting me like what?"
"Not taking care of you. Letting you go out by yourself and get into fights you can't handle. Leaving you on your own."
The baby spider is quiet. Natasha moves closer.
"I mean what I said, baby spider. You can come with me. I'll keep you safe if you want."
"…you will?"
"Yeah, baby spider." She opens her arms and after a moment, a little kid snuggles up to her side. "There…you okay? I'm not hurting you, am I?"
"No." The kid absentmindedly nuzzles her shoulder. "You're warm."
"I'm a lot bigger than you, baby spider. I generate more body heat." And I was genetically engineered to do that too, but we're not going to get to that just yet.
"Mm." She chuckles as he burrows into her. "Give some to me, 'm cold."
"And sleepy," she remarks as a yawn almost splits his head in two, "c'mon, baby spider, let's get to you to a bed."
She scoops the kid into her arms, carrying him back to the car.
***
"Natasha."
"Yelena."
"What is that?"
"A smoothie?"
"Did you get us a baby brother without asking me?"
"Yes."
"How could you do such a thing?"
Peter shifts in his sleep, letting out a quiet noise and stretching like a cat before he resettles. The two former assassins watch him, spellbound.
"You're forgiven."
"I figured."

u know having done a fair bit of volunteering and organising, i do think. that sometimes. if you want something to be better within your specific community, especially marginalised communities. you have to step up and be involved in it. complaining about something being too small or not having the organisational backbone or not offering enough services, etcetc. i can guarantee that a large amount of the time you are looking at like 2-6 people who are doing all of this work for free (who are often spending their own money that they may not have a lot of) to make something happen and they only have the time and the energy and the ability that they have and if something has to pivot last minute, they will not have the financial and networking support to simply shift into another gear. these are the resources that exist, we can only do what they allow
every single event and charity and support service ive been involved in, somebody has complained -- about this space being smaller than the last space, about that being further away than it used to be, about something taking too long, or x resources not existing, ive had trans people show up to a trans community event 30mins before it was open and complain that it was badly organised because nobody let them in, ive had people say they demand more of this or that or less of that and this, this kind of group, that kind of event. and those people have always been people who are benefiting from these spaces and are not giving back to those spaces. they only think about what they're owed, not about what they owe in return, what their own responsibilities are
not everyone can be an organiser, but trust that there is always something that can be done to take the weight off of especially a smaller organisation that has come out of a need. and if you're not helping to carry some of that weight, do not complain, because those 2-6 people who are spending so much time and energy and money and soul on creating something that you are gaining from are closer to quitting than you might think and then who's gonna carry it? the people who were spending all their time complaining and doing nothing? good luck. hope people don't complain
tbh a lot of the time it's even enough to just go to your local community events and acknowledge the hard work put into them. we need people to come to them so we can keep doing them -- often you'll organise something that there is a wish for and people will treat it as more of a "ah well if i feel like it on the day" type thing than a community responsibility, part of what you're giving back in this contract. your tiny local pride could get 10 people or it could get 100 people there and its future funds may depend on the number. your community political meeting cannot organise without people there showing that they care. this panel or arts or research event is for you and it's also for you to give a shit about
but also. volunteer. and don't complain if you're not there with a solution and a hand. step up for your community on a local level
#brought to you by local organising#what even to tag this?#it goes for anything honestly#in my case especially for#queer stuff#trans stuff#trans activism#trans community#trans culture#nothing like creating for your community only for someone to go *i preferred the other place* OH REALLY? THE OTHER PLACE???#THE PLACE THAT SHUT DOWN LAST MONTH BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF MONEY?? THAT PLACE????? YEAH I LIKED IT TOO#BUT HEY GUESS WHAT? I REMEMBER YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT THAT PLACE BEING TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE CITY CENTRE#SO I THINK YOU'RE JUST SOMEONE WHO LIKES COMPLAINING#anyway what place do u suggest? bear in mind affordability. space requirements. music requirements. whether they're allies.#whether you can get there without a car. how safe it is to leave from at night. if they offer staff help or not. access requirements.#i havent said shut the fuck to anyone yet#me#personal

I keep seeing people bitching about "uwu when I say 'from the river to the sea' people say I'm calling for geeenocide! They say I'm antisemitic!" and like.
Maybe. instead of clinging to a phrase that a bunch of white leftists have co-opted because they think it sounds nice. And digging your little immature heels in. You should LISTEN when people tell you that yes. The phrase's FUCKING ORIGIN was a call for the eradication of Jews from the area known as Israel and Palestine. That NO, you cannot divorce it from those roots. YES, it IS still used to mean that TO THIS DAMN DAY.
And look. Maybe you DON'T think that Israelis should all be killed and/or exiled from Israel and Palestine. Maybe you DON'T think that the genocide of an entire people is the solution. Maybe you DON'T hate Jews and want all of us dead. And if that's the case? Great!
But how the FUCK are we supposed to tell the difference when you are using the EXACT same phrase as countless people who DO want those things. People who DO hate Jews, who ARE supportive of organizations that want to commit violence, people who SUPPORT what happened on October 7th?
When people tell you "hey, this phrase means something else, it has ALWAYS come from those roots, and using it is NOT OKAY because it is STILL used as a rallying cry for violence against Israelis and Jews worldwide", the way to react? Is NOT to fucking double down and use it.
Because that? DOES make you an antisemite. And if I see you using that phrase? Then I MUST assume that at best, you do not know what it means and have SOMEHOW avoided the countless Jews and non-Jews I have seen talking about it, or at WORST you actively hate me and want me and every single one of my people dead.
And frankly? You are not worth that risk to interact with.
Stop saying it. There are SO many ways to support Palestine, the Palestinian people, and their fight for rights, that do not involve spouting genocidal, antisemitic rhetoric. it is NOT HARD.
But apparently, some of y'all are insistent on being racist.
#antisemitism#i/p#the phrase cannot be divorced from its roots#and if I see anyone complaining about it#I am just going to assume that you're a racist antisemite now#it's been long enough#saw someone bitching about not being allowed to have it up at work#and people railing the OTW for not allowing it and im like#ah so if I showed up with a 1488 patch and I got told I couldn't wear that#like#that's actually a GREAT comparison#because a LOT of people have no idea was 1488 means and think it's just a number#but the people who know what it stands for will take you using it as support for them#and btw it's a white supremacist and Nazi symbol#so when someone says hey you know that number isn't JUST a number#it has a lot of racist and violent connotations#the response is not to INSIST that you be allowed to use that damn number#it should be to go oh shit and ditch it#because YOU DON'T WANT FUCKING WHITE SUPREMACISTS THINKING YOU AGREE WITH THEM

always funny to me when people complain about animation dying out as a medium & then they proceed to not watch anything animated ever like you either love animation or you don't pick one
#someone: i LOVE animation!!!#me: so you've seen Wolfwalkers? Ultraman Rising? Wendell & Wild? The Wild Robot? The Last Wish?#them: the what#ESPECIALLY funny when they complain about people who watch cartoons as if watching cartoons is a sin#you can't shit on people who enjoy animation & then turn around & whine & cry about animation as a medium ''dying''#it's not dying. you're just not actually as into animation as you think#or maybe you think the only ''good'' way to be into animation is from a distance lest you be seen enjoying something ''immature''#i'm gonna start calling ''animation enjoyers'' posers if they haven't seen Wolfwalkers#if you're not even keeping up with fucking Cartoon Saloon then what are you doing here#it's like saying you love coffee shops & then only ever order a single sugar cube like shut the fuck up

Honestly the worst thing about being raised by and around professors is that I can't really do the whole students bitching about professors thing even when I mostly agree with it, because my whole life I have been hearing the professor's side of the story. Every time someone talks about how ridiculous mandatory attendance or participation is there's a part of me that starts loudly protesting about how actually being in class is really important for learning, and it must be so hugely frustrating for the professor when students just don't show up to your class half the time and then when they do show up they're playing sudoku on their computer.
#dylan says things#and I say this as someone who historically has not been great about attendance due to things both in and outside of my control#and I know disabilities are a factor for a lot of people and I'm not saying they shouldn't be accommodated.#but I've had professors who have done truly so much to make it possible to attend their class. like you can go in person and on zoom#and a lotta wiggle room for making up missed classes#and people will still complain about it#and most of the time these things are only like 5-10% of your grade#and at a certain point it's like dude you're literally paying to go to school#and now you're complaining that you have to go to school and do school things#if you stop giving them all your money they will stop asking you do the thing you're paying to do#and again I am not exempt from this getting to my morning class is fucking impossible a lot of the time#and that sudoku thing in the main post was absolutely a self-callout#but like. idk. Professors are not evil they are people who are trying to do their jobs#anyways. I think I often find that my attitude towards academia is not aligned with my friends#like sometimes people will tell me that it doesn't really matter that much as long as i graduate#and I understand the sentiment and largely agree with it but also at the end of the day I want to like. Learn stuff and do good work#anyways. sorry for my weird rambling i just have a lot of thoughts about university that i never really share with anyone
