when you joined formula one, snatched up by red bull, it made headlines. a female formula one driver — the third to race in a grand prix in history. it was a heavy weight on your shoulders, a weight met with backlash and criticism.

too delicate, too emotional. not brave enough, not built the right way. you had dominated your formula four, three and two seasons. you were just as qualified as the men you raced against, but you were not a man.

red bull were a little more forgiving. but you knew there were still whispers about your position, if you really deserved it. your new teammate, sebastian vettel, was at the heart of them. he had a reputation for being a womaniser, a line of girls waiting for him after every race.

“what do you think of your new teammate?” he was asked one day, after your first race together. you’d come P5, a shock to everyone. sebastian didn’t mind having a female teammate, but a teammate who could be better than him? that was a threatening prospect.

“oh, y/n?” sebastian smirked. “i’m just glad i have someone pretty to look at every day at work.”

it was a low blow, joining the swarms of people who diminished you to only your looks. but you were used to it, unfortunately, and knew how to handle such prejudice. you kept your distance from sebastian, no matter how much he teased you. he was irritating, and he found you prideful. two teammates couldn’t have clashed more. frankly, you hated him.

it didn’t help that you were beating him significantly in all of your races. on the podium, right beside him, taking P1 too many times for his liking. it made him look bad, like he was falling behind. behind a girl, of all people. while sebastian swore he didn’t agree to the misogynistic narrative that painted formula one, he couldn’t deny how he despised you.

but you carried on. you did your duty, won points for the team, smiled for the photos. but everyone could tell — you and sebastian couldn’t hate each other any more.

it hadn’t stopped raining in budapest since you’d arrived. the track was wet, wheels spinning through every practice and qualifying race. but the FIA insisted it go on. sunday was just a wet, if not more, and the track was barely visible as you raced around it.

but you were in pole position, and held it strongly. it would be another good race for you, and for red bull. not so much for sebastian, who was stuck in P4. you had to keep pushing, ignoring the warnings in your ear.

then, it happened before you knew it. the wheels spinning out of control, your grip on the wheel helpless. the car was spinning too, upside down and back again. it was loud, your radio crackling in your ear, bangs of the metal scraping against the ground deafening you.

when it fell quiet again, you could barely move. your seatbelt was jammed, the smell of gasoline and smoke rising. your heart was hammering in your chest, the real world sounding distant and blurry in your mind.

the sight was terrible. your car sent hurdling along the track after skidding against a puddle. the crowd was silent, quiet gasps and mutters rising after a minute or two. the engineers got to work quickly, deploying the safety car and as many medics as possible. your radio wasn’t working, so no one knew if you were alright.

“fuck!” came sebastian’s mic, watching the scene ahead with wide eyes. instructions came through his radio, but he paid them no heed. the other red bull car, pulling up behind the tragic sight of yours, screeching to a halt. clambering out, sebastian practically sprints to your car, ignoring the smoke to reach into the drivers seat, pulling you out of the crushed car without a second thought.

“y/n!” he called, cradling your weak body in his arms once he’d safely removed your helmet. he didn’t care who was watching, or telling him that he needed to get back in his own car. you weren’t responding, but he couldn’t bare letting the medics take you from him. “please, talk to me.”

your eyes fluttered open, coughing up some smoke that had gotten trapped in your throat. a silhouette cleared above you, one that looked awfully like your teammate.

“oh, thank god,” sebastian nearly cried, cradling your head, a paramedic kneeling now at your other side. you didn’t look at them, eyes fixed on sebastian. strangely, he was the only face you wanted to see.

“i crashed,” you said, voice hoarse. “you could’ve won if you kept going.”

sebastian shook his head, laughing a little at your comment. “i don’t care about that. i just — i needed to make sure you were okay. you’re okay, right?”

you nod, straining a little as you sit up. “i’m fine, i think. thank you.”

he has to let you be taken away now, into the ambulance to be checked. as much as he wanted to hold on, keep you close to him and away from any danger. he looked around, all eyes on him, and sighed. what had come over him? he hated you, had since the moment you stepped into the red bull garage.

but the second you were in danger, he was afraid. afraid of losing you, afraid of never really knowing what he felt. he knew now, everyone did. he loved you, too much to have ever known.

Heya!! Okay I'm not gonna front I haven't put too much thinking into the rest of Seb's fam and their whereabouts, but you've given me a wonderful opportunity to do so! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿ the initial finding out about Everything™ in the first place could literally be it's own post though so I'll just be focusing on dynamics past the "he's alive and he's a fish and there's a talking computer strapped to him" shock 😭

Right off the bat I can tell you that Painter and Sebastian's sister are straight up besties, like- she was a little freaked at first (understandably) but the two of them inevitably grew to understand each other, especially with how involved the both of them were in Seb's recovery days~

The skepticism was palpable for a while; she is his older sister after all, and there was a lot of confusion about what exactly she was looking at. She was kind of the Boss Bitch what with their mother aging and everything, so a lot of the stress ultimately fell on her (even if Sebastian's stubborn self insisted not to worry about him/"he could take care of himself"). Painter and their neverending patience definitely came in clutch though, as they're very much aware of how they're perceived at first glance, but they were dead set on being proactive- really when it came down to it she saw that he meant a lot to them and she couldn't help but respect it (they ended up being a huge help when Sebastian finally had the 'okay' to go home, not like it would let him out of their sights anyway)

Nowadays they're regarded as family, by pretty much everybody. Sebastian's brother found them pretty cool from the get-go, but really he was more focused on Seb throughout the whole thing (when they were younger he 100% looked up to him quite a bit, present day they couldn't be closer :,3 he also did massive things for Seb's self-esteem early on). His mother will probably never be able to fully conceptualize Painter's existence, but they love to help her cook and craft so she doesn't really care for the meta shit 😭🫶

Now...heh....the stuff I'm indulgent about *rubs my hands together greedily* Does the fam know about Sebastian and Painter and their faggy situationship turned serious...... probably not! At least not to its full extent 🤔 They try to keep it relatively low-key, but they're a very family-oriented bunch so it's getting increasingly harder LOL. I'm imagining a totally not serious scenario in which Seb steps forward with Painter in tow like "guys I have to confess that the rumors are true I do in fact kiss this thing" and everyone is just. Unimpressed. Sebastian was never one for relationships back then so when someone Has Him it's incredibly obvious I fear 😭

Really if they did find out they probably wouldn't care at this point, Painter had already been indoctrinated into the Solace name for god knows how long now so the obvious questions were bypassed FSKDKSG

MC couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of her husband.

Sebastian was cooing at the bundle of blankets in his arms, making faces and showering them with all the love and affection he had. MC's heart was soaring, and it would probably explode if she could actually see the giggling baby inside the blankets.

As it was, Sebastian claimed it was too chilly for her baby girl and proceeded to cover her and wrap her in all the blankets he could find before they had to leave for Fig's apartment.

"Who's a good baby girl?" Sebastian cooed, nuzzling the blanket, or that was what it looked like, he probably had a better view of the hidden baby in there. "Who's the best baby girl?"

"I am," MC smirked from his side, making him choke on his own laughter.

"Merlin, MC, not in front of the baby," Sebastian scolded playfully.

MC only shrugged.

They finally arrived at the building and she pulled the door open for her babies.

"Why, thank you," Sebastian grinned jokingly, making her roll her eyes.

"Just get in," MC said. "They're waiting for us."

Sebastian's grin remained in place even as he leaned to kiss her chastely.

As she suspected, their friends and former professors were already there when they entered the apartment. Aesop and Dinah were the first to notice them, so they made their way to them.

"And how's my most troublemaker student doing these days?" Dinah asked with a teasing grin, trying to peak over the blankets in Sebastian's arms.

"She's talking to you, love," Sebastian told MC.

MC scoffed and Dinah rolled her eyes.

"I'm certainly talking to you Sebastian," the old witch said. "I have to admit sometimes I miss you in my classroom but not in the castle in general."

Sebastian feigned hurt and looked at Aesop for help when it was clear MC was not going to step in.

"I understand the feeling all to well, Dinah," Aesop shrugged carelessly, glancing at the red head on the other side of the room. "I can't believe we have to see them in this reunions. How Eleazar does it is anyone's guess."

"Aw please you all love us," MC teased. "I bet you do miss us. Tha castle must be boring if the new generations don't break the rules as often."

"With ideas like that? We don't," Matilda added with a tired sigh and a warm smile. "How are you doing? Is this the new Sallow?"

"Ah yes, quit distracting us," Dinah frowned. "When are you introducing your baby?"

"Unless you expect us to wait until they're eleven," Aesop said sarcastically.

"She," MC clarified, blushing. "I was actually- I wanted to talk to Eleazar first. Grandparent privileges and all."

Dinah, much like Sebastian earlier, feigned a hurt wince and even put her free hand over her chest.

"Sebastian, what about me?"

Sebastian chuckled and Aesop shooed them off with an eye roll.

"He was in the kitchen the last time I saw him," Matilda said. "Ignore Dinah. She's had a bit too much to drink I think."

"Nah, she's fine," Sebastian grinned. "But I wasn't the one carrying this cutie pie for nine months. So, mom's the boss. For now," he added in a whisper.

"I heard that!" MC called over her shoulder.

Sebastian snickered and followed her through the crowd, avoiding their closest friends and the nosiest people. Sebastian was surprised when he noticed Ominis in a corner talking to Poppy. Now he was even more excited to show off his little girl. He'd put her in his best friends arms and call him godfather before he could protest.

The kitchen was more quiet. Eleazar was standing near the oven, whispering something to the house elf guarding whatever it was in there.

"And when they arrive I want the other elves to bring out the cake," Eleazar continued. "Champagne too, although I'm not sure if she's allowed to drink while breast feeding. Maybe champagne isn't a good idea."

"Eli! Don't talk about me breast feeding with the elves!" MC cried, red as a tomato.

Eleazar spun around so fast he almost toppled over the elf behind him. Said elf looked at MC with fear and pulled on his ears.

"The cake is not ready yet, Misus!"

"Don't worry about the cake," MC waved him off. "Eli, tell your elf to stop punishing himself and come meet your granddaughter."

Eleazar looked stunned and Sebastian giggled into the blankets that covered his daughter. MC sighed fondly and took one of Eleazar's hands to pull him close to them.

"Seb," she asked.

Sebastian straightened up, like a proud parent, and offered his baby to the man that saved MC all those years ago.

"Meet Miriam Anne Sallow, Eli," MC introduced softly.

Eleazar was staring at the baby in awe and he jolted at hearing the name. He glanced at MC and Sebastian, the stunned expression not leaving his face. Sebastian nodded knowingly and offered a warm smile.

"She's beautiful, MC," Eleazar whispered, tearing up when baby Miriam grinned gummily up at him. "Looks exactly like you."

"Well, that's the Sallow hair," MC winced. "And she could have freckles."

"Babe," Sebastian took her fidgeting hand. "Accept the compliment. She's as beautiful as her mom and everyone can see it."

MC blushed, not as hard as before, and nodded.

"I'm proud of you," Eleazar finished, giving back the baby to her dad who welcomed her into his arms excitedly. "You're doing great."

MC hugged Eleazar while Sebastian jumped from one foot to the other. MC laughed.

"Go show Ominis, Seb."

Sebastian didn't need to be told twice. He left father-daughter in the kitchen while he took his own daughter to meet her godfather.

“Well, as long as he got on the plane, he should be here any minute, I had the driver meet him at the steps.” The sound of a door cut Laura off in the middle of her sentence. “Speak of the devil, good morning Kimi.” She leaned in to Gianna, whispering. “I told him no detours.”

“You are not late! Excellent.” Gianna pulled her face into a grin and greeted Kimi with a kiss on each cheek before whipping out a clipboard full of the days schedule. 

“He wouldn’t let me stop!” Kimi put a hand on the clipboard and frowned at Gianna before turning to give Laura a full pout. 

“So weird how those two things coincide.” With a coy smile she took Kimi’s bag and pressed her hand into the small of his back, guiding him towards the dressing rooms. “Let’s get you changed and then you can start with the bitching.”

Kimi turned his head, his eyebrows raised. “I don’t like you.” 

“Didn’t I just say that you had to wait?” She laughed and set his bag onto a chair before pulling his suit rack out from behind it, flipping through the labels to find the first pieces. Cyril had never worn a racing suit, for obvious reasons, figuring out the system would take a few tries. “Besides, you don’t sign the check, do you?” She handed him a Nomex shirt, sliding the hanger out of it as he grabbed the hem. Was she trying to flirt or be a bully? If she couldn’t figure it out herself, it would be anyones guess. 

“No.” He took the long johns from her with a faint slant on his lips. 

“Then it doesn’t matter does it?” 

“No.” He gave her a smirk, slipping out of his sneakers as he sank onto the couch, arms full of underwear. 

“Long or short?” She held up two pairs of socks, cocking her hip to the side as she waited for him to decide. 

“I don’t know.” He wiggled his toes and looked between the two, shrugging with indifference. 

“One of each?” She pulled one from each set. 

“No.” 

“Short, then.” 

“No, long.”

Both actions for perfectly selfish reasons. One to kill his confidence because it made him so kissable, and two because of the aforementioned kiss factor. 

“Can’t believe they found someone for him.” An unfamiliar voice pulled her from her fantasies. “I’m Greta.” 

“Laura.” She looked over at the girl next to her, a skinny brunette with a long ponytail and impossible heels. “Are you Vettel’s assistant?” 

“Yeah. I’ve been with Seb for a few years now. I was starting to worry they’d give me the Iceman too.” She laughed and gave Laura a quick elbow in the side before turning serious. “How bad has it been, you can be honest” She had an accent that Laura couldn’t place but whatever it was it made her endearing, perhaps German like Sebastian?

“He’s a piece of cake. Grumpy, but cake.” She looked back to the Finn, standing in front of a ridiculous lighting rig with an annoyed look on his face. Laura shot him a grin and then turned back to Greta. “And Sebastian?” 

“Easy. Nicest guy ever.” Greta waved to him and then gestured to Laura. “Look, they got one for Kimi! Laura, right? Her name is Laura!” 

“Hello Laura!” Sebastian stepped out of his pose to wave but was quickly set right by Gianna. 

“No talking, no talking, just pose.” She put his arms back across his chest gently and then set him back to back with Kimi as he had been moments before. “Almost done.”

Omg! I just saw a video of Chris talking about Dodger and how he likes attention at ECC yesterday followed by pics of Seb cuddling dogs and now all I can think of is how sweet it would have been when Chris introduced Dodger to Seb!

Hi!!!! Sorry for this late answer - I’ve been so busy & didn’t have time to catch up on my asks until now (as I’m doing my best to avoid work lolol).

I LOVE the way he talks about Dodger 🥹 like @fandomfluffandfuck said, it’s just SO affectionate and sweet whenever Chris talks about him and it makes me want to scream and dissolve into a puddle at the same time 😭

And of COURSE Dodger loves attention, and he deserves all of it, really. I know Chris is weak enough to give Dodger all the attention he wants, and who can blame him?

I’m also sure Sebastian would be just as sweet with Dodger. Thinking about them meeting for the first time is almost too much, tbh. idk i think it’s jumping around to a lot of places with a lot we don’t know but it’s also very in character to me. leliana’s capable of uhhh extreme idealistic callousness. she’s self-centred and bad at looking at things from other people’s perspectives; she has a lot of prejudices that she assumes she doesn’t and thus they go unaddressed; violence doesn’t unsettle her, and she’s clearly lost her dao era distress that it doesn’t. it’s not surprising to me that her characteristic single-minded devotion to someone like justinia would make her capable of terrible things especially if was out of her sight and hands and she didn’t have to feel it. and in dai she’s clearly wrestling with her disillusionment in what she’s been doing since dao. none of the above is to suggest she doesn’t know what she’s been doing is wrong, she just can’t reconcile that with her belief in justinia’s purpose, a purpose which in dai abruptly comes to nothing

the only things that make it harder to follow for me are a lelimancing warden, and dai passing justinia off as a victim which requires some readjustment for like any kind of legitimate narrative

It's only been like what, 10 days, and what can I say but: too much. Here's some recap :D

Kidding kidding, I'm having a lot of fun!! But my friends and I go out after class every day so we've just seen so many things and walked so much. There's too much to recap so I'll just try and talk about some particular fun things. I think I've liked the cathedrals most of all, there's a lot of really cool ones!! But Vienna is like, you'll turn the corner and whoops here's another gigantic, absolutely beautiful castle/building/statue!

I've eaten so much ice cream....my friend/roommate and I just keep getting it like every day. Literally yesterday, we ate ice cream 3x in 24 hours, it's a fun time. And so many pasteries and bread....I had 3 croissants this morning :D

Still I think the most fun was the amusement park we randomly went to. That's where the Kimi statue and Seb car pics that I posted were from!!(we're walking past and my friend just goes "is that fucking Kimi"????)We went on bumper cars and go-karts, and it was so fun but it felt so intense 😭 like slamming directly into each together and screaming. Great bonding activity tho :D

But omg funny that you ask about Germany. We were there for the wknd, and my two friends and I had the funniest experience. We were sitting in some random restaurant, and we look over and see these guys in lederhosen. And I'm trying to discreetly take a pic for my parents(bad ik sry) and the one guy acknowledged me 😭 but whatever. But then later they start pulling out these massive guns(Böllerschießen?) So my friends and I just keep looking over. And the guy waves at me, so my friend takes that as a cue to go ask him "we think you look so cool, can we take a photo with you?" And so they let us hold their guns and take a pic with them!!!!! So sickkkkkk, I still can't believe it actually happened !!

Had a dream I ran into Sebastian Stan in Costa Rica (???) And he looked amazing but it was young Seb, not current Seb

I'm so sorry. Ever since you posted the ai bots of Ominis and Sebastian I've done nothing but tease them relentlessly with absurd prompts.

But I'm terribly glad they can tell different characters apart. Managed to goad Sebastian into infiltrating the Ravenclaw Common Room by spooking him with an animagus eagle MC.

Oh, and it's good the bots pick up on narration meant for them. Helps prevent Ominis from suddenly using a cane when he has his wand sonar or miraculously gaining sight for a post or two.

Ahahaha that's been my experience pretty much, I've been sinking hours into playing with them 😭

Oh my but you're having some adventures! Sounds like you could easily make a fic out of these ideas. I'd love to see Seb in an animagus form (so I could more easily pet him 💚)

And yeah, Ominis with the cane, I've been getting that too sometimes... Can be frustrating. Or Seb forgetting what colour eyes he's supposed to have. But yes, narration really helps. Feel free to force them, really, in the right direction if need be.
