literally no one was doing it like natsuno yuuki. he was genre savvy but he was also fucking gay so he still died. after his death he started dressing like the google search results for gay vampire. his only friends were his homoerotic bestie, an adult medical professional speed running his descent into madness, and two random kids he dug up his stalker’s grave with. he became a vampire and was immediately better at it than all of the other vampires but he thought they were bitches so he didn’t even tell them he turned. his last words was that he was never going to make it out of that town alive but if anyone could have it was him and that’s what makes him so tragic. he died trying to save someone who was never ever going to save him back. he wasn’t afraid to die because he was already dead. he burned the entire town to the ground mourning his own death and he didn’t do it to save a single goddamn person, he did it because they murdered him and he was going to fucking hurt them back for it. I do want to talk about sharing art online from the perspective of a hobby freelancer but before that I'll just toss this tidbit I mentioned on my main

Reblogs are not numbers. Reblogs are meant to share and pass on artwork that someone may like. NO ONE is forced to reblog anything BUT it is a core of engagement in a space like tumblr. Engagement is what brings in interest after all and it's one piece of what makes it important for freelance artists here.

When you look at the numbers and the notes, we need to stop viewing them and comparing them with likes (me included) or total in general. It doesn't help.

Artists do self rebloging to both show or remind folks they've done some work as well as to nudge people to reblog their stuff. Tags are nice and comments in them are a nice way to engage too but passing on the work, especially to help someone to get noticed, is a good way to just work the site as intended.

It will always be about luck because we can't guess who wants to engage with what online. You also can't blame yourselves for this. Don't use the internet mentality of "content" (eugh!) and "flopping" and go about it that way. People find stuff I drew years back and find ways to engage with it now. It's really about luck.

There are things that can help but I'll go about it in another post.

One more thing. Don't be shy about "shilling". Advertise your open commissions, your patreons or ko-fis. I promise it has nothing to do with how big of an artist you are. Remember that you're doing that within your own zone so "bothering" followers is hardly the case, it's your house. Make a tag for it if it helps your mind. I say as someone with social anxiety.

Love being an arcane warrior in dao i love swinging a giant maul around and being in armour but also casting walking nightmare and horror on my enemies i think swords are cooler but the affect of a maul is funnier than big sword in my opinion. I have like 3 affects (at the minimum) going on at all times and then i do an aoe chug some lyrium just in case and bludgen some guy to death. What.

AND ANOTHER THING about hot sith girl summer, i've managed to write myself into addressing a common issue in the codywan fandom, but in a weird way: that thing where fandom sometimes treats cody like he's only there to babysit obi-wan and his every single thought and action revolves around obi-wan

like, you know who'd also think of cody as existing only in relation to obi-wan, as a kind of appendage of obi-wan? vader. it's probably the only reason he keeps cody alive after cody challenges him between chapter one and two. as bait to draw obi-wan out of hiding, and just to fuck with someone obi-wan held dear, to cause him pain. and wouldn't it be interesting if cody noticed this and started chafing at it, even as he also feels (irrational) guilt over what he did during order 66. and even when he escapes vader and takes up with maul, he expects the exact same treatment: to be treated as a thing that obi-wan owned, and that can now be used as a tool to exact revenge on obi-wan (but he and maul are actually going to have a rapport, weird and fucked up as that's going to be in its own right. but at least it will be true, equal-level codependence). so he's just like "oh it's gonna be the same humiliating dehumanizing shit again but at least i'm no longer in the empire... so i'll take it 🙄" (but then it is actually different, eventually, as maul begins to see the merit of cody as simply cody)

but rlly its not that complicated ^__^ as long as ya have all the right cords!

it doenst have any brain of its own, so it has two cords on the back - one to plug into an outlet for power, and the other to plug into your computer for your display

the one that goes into the socket is your basic 3-pronger, but the other was given to me with an adaptor! usb goes right into laptop

the monitors colors are a bit off (leans darker with a heavier contrast) but its not TOO offputting, so i just mess with the gamma in the game itself. but i have to fudge around with the crt herself about the SCALING of it..

its meant for 4:3 , which you can see cuts off the UI. but luckily ultrakill luckily has different proportions in the options! sometimes youll have to nudge it left or right, but-

thereee ya go. if you want it EXTRA aesthetic, you can turn on dithering and crunch the quality a bit

when im feeling fancy, i plug in an external keyboard to my laptop and put it in front of the crt to pretend its a computer (and just hide the laptop behind her hehe)..

but uhm. usually my setup is on the floor. so i can kick my legs & play

and if they do.... then like... do they also get the notification sounds as well? And their audio processors just get overwhelmed by this sound for 0.4 seconds. And then it's so distracting that it completely derails them from whatever they're doing in the moment?

So Connor would be talking to Hank about a case and then all of a sudden, he just stops, and gets this really annoyed look on his face. Then Hank hears him mutter to himself
