Love being an arcane warrior in dao i love swinging a giant maul around and being in armour but also casting walking nightmare and horror on my enemies i think swords are cooler but the affect of a maul is funnier than big sword in my opinion. I have like 3 affects (at the minimum) going on at all times and then i do an aoe chug some lyrium just in case and bludgen some guy to death. What.

The Killing Vote (ep. 1-5 notes)
I’ve been enjoying this drama and I wanted to post some thoughts about it! This last week’s episode kept me on my toes! It’s a crime they only air a single episode per week, truly a crime aaaa
I don’t really know if people watching this drama are on tumblr but I’ll post here anyway!
Have a nice week!!!
(SPOILERS UP TO EPISODE 5!!!!)
I love Joohyun’s relationship with Kwon Seokju so far, the scene where she played for him Mozart’s Requiem (if I’m not mistaken) while we see her hanging Narae’s stuffed bunny was soothing! Seeing a different approach than Kim Muchan is nice!
KMC’s relationship with KSJ is really intriguing: we only get KMC’s (quite unreliable, that’s what makes it even more interesting!) pov in the first episodes with almost no dialogue between the two of them, and the recent episodes give us another side to their story through KSJ! I really wonder how their relationship got soured (especially from KMC) to the point KMC advises Joohyun not to get too close and get manipulated by KSJ: besides his own guilt for not being able to save Narae in time nor catch her murderer and the fact that the one he looked up to killed Byun Wootaek, something else must’ve happened for it to get THIS sour. What is going onnnnnnn? Or is it all an act? (and KMC/Park Haejin has some sad puppy eyes on par with Im Siwan's and Jung Haein's I can't haha) He affirms KSJ is arrogant and wouldn’t hesitate to take the law in his own hands if it can’t solve the problem while he himself pushes investigations with ways off the record to arrest culprits. He shows a bitter attitude in front of KSJ and Joohyun most of the time when he talks about him, but at the same time he also confided his guilt to Joohyun in private and seemed to regularly ask how KSJ was doing in prison during the past 8 years. I also get the feeling he was asking the warden if KSJ was regularly getting health checks by a doctor out of worry besides the investigation.
(This is some crack theory, but what if the one who murdered BWT was KMC and not KSJ? At this point, the narration is really unreliable so I wouldn't even be surprised!)
On that subject, I wonder if the drama will address KSJ’s health issue with his collapsed lung/asthma again ; his medical visit also seemed shot in order not to show the doctor’s silhouette at all, I wonder if this will hold any significance later on (it could be Jihoon’s grandmother, who knows!)? Not to mention Uhm Eungyeong, the culprit on ep2, was poisoned by Gaetal knowing she had asthma????
When the judge ruled Byun Wootaek’s acquittal (ep4), his gavel (a symbol of the justice) was shot struck right in front of KSJ’s silhouette, above his head, as if justice itself crushed KSJ. A similar symbolism is used in ep5’s Killing Vote:
The flashbacks are beautifully shot, ep4 was really moving. This scene’s lighting furthered the tragedy: it’s as though the orange light and the blood on Narae burn into KSJ and KMC’s profile as they find her, contrasting with Narae and the background’s cold tones:
Also when KSJ recalls how he murdered BWT, the same orange hue colors the shots.
In ep5, we finally hear the voice of a man who is thought to be Gaetal, when he’s talking to KMC over the phone. The opening shows the cast’s profiles, but there’s this one character we haven’t seen yet:
The man in question could totally be this character that wasn’t introduced yet! He’s probably the ‘executor’ of the Killing Vote, who was chatting with the teacher Lee Minsu.
I think Gaetal is definitely not the work of only one person: there’s at least the executor, tech-savvy people organizing the vote (the stream, the text messages, the hacking, …), the one on the stream (or maybe there’s more than one on the stream, a different one per case because the tone and attitude are never the same: agressive, vengeful, or bubbly, or caustic…) and perhaps someone in the police.
The teacher could be Fan no. 1 and/or Gaetal (if it’s not the same person/group): In ep4, we learn KSJ’s « Fan no. 1 » (1호팬, [ilho fan]) regularly sent him letters which would describe in details how the culprits subject to the Killing Vote would be ‘judged’. In ep3, the teacher talks to this ‘executor’ under the pseudo ‘justice15’: if 15 is read with the sino-korean numbers for 1 (일 [il]) and 5 (오 [oh]), the pronunciation would be close to ‘no. 1’, so this could not be a simple coincidence. Also ‘justice’ could be a taunt directed towards KMC’s vision of justice (he uses 정의 to describe his ideal of justice to KSJ) since he seems to deeply resent KMC.
Gaetal uses KSJ and KMC’s words (‘devils deemed innocent’, ‘rational justice’) and interestingly, another character who talks about rationality is the assemblywoman (‘rationality, moral sense and mothers are stronger than the law’)!
Also, this dude is on some twisted christian trip: in ep4, we get a glimpse of the teacher’s tattoo, a cross on his chest that reads… ‘My daddy My hero’… which was what Narae used to say to her father (her hero, making her safe because he’s always there to protect her) and a part of her room’s decoration…
Well, if he killed Narae and his mother made Byun Wootaek the scapegoat for every crimes he committed this far, something must have gone wrong this time for him (and his mother) to deeply resent KMC to the point of wanting to kill him: they managed to pull the strings of the police and judicial system, but KMC must have discovered Lee Minsu was the real culprit (perhaps after KSJ killed BWT) and tried to kill him, which might’ve worsened his heart condition somehow.
(And it’s interesting how the second screenshot shows the teacher discarding his now bloodied watch in disgust after hearing KMC saying ‘I was willing to break rules to catch this heinous criminal as soon as possible’ mmmmh…)
Just as Captain Oh completely denied his liability in ep5, he must have felt wronged, Narae’s case being the only one that 'sullied' him (and this must be why he changed names, from Lee Yunseong to Lee Minsu). Associating the accusations he must’ve faced because of Narae’s case and KMC to the Passion of the Christ in a sick, twisted way, he must’ve thought this tattoo as his own crucifixion leading to his rebirth/his revenge through the Killing Vote?
If the teacher is the mastermind behind the Killing Vote, choosing culprits involved in CSE, SA and CA so far for the votes could be: 1 — to mask his true identity, seemingly siding with true justice while he’s one of those he judges. Also, choosing keywords associated to BOTH KSJ and KMC could be to mislead the police to believe Gaetal is close to KSJ and both KSJ and KMC to suspect one another 2 — a sick way to play with KMC’s concept of justice and using KSJ's trauma (and KMC) ; 3 — to hide the final objective of the Killing Vote: since he gives the public a pretty convincing and sophisticated fact-check all the circumstances surrounding the culprits’ crimes (Gaetal even said in one of their streams that a culprit wouldn’t be subject to the vote if their crimes weren’t true), this could lead the public to believe every case would be exposed truthfully. Which means one of these cases could be fabricated and nobody would realize it at first. If the teacher organized the Killing Vote to get back at KMC (this also seems to benefit his mother’s campaign), perhaps the last vote would accuse KMC or KSJ of Narae’s murder (since no culprit was found guilty) or another crime.
At his final trial, KSJ accused ’the police who released BWT because they cared more about their performance’. We now know the police commissionner, KMC’s superior and the assemblywoman were all linked somehow to what happened 8 years ago. We also got a flashback of Choi Jinsu, KMC’s colleague who was also the detective in charge in both Narae and KSJ’s case, who gave KMC the hint of Byun Wootaek being the culprit. KMC, unlike him, ‘isn’t interested in politics’… He also recognized the teacher as Lee Yunseong, potentially his name before murdering Narae. In ep5, Joohyun automatically ruled CJS out of the suspect list because he’s not close to KSJ… If the premise that Gaetal must be close to KSJ is wrong, then his involvement could be possible: perhaps he was ordered to tamper with the procedure and the pieces of evidence during the two cases? Also, I wonder if KMC’s reputation will get addressed, his superiors must’ve pressured him to follow unofficial orders or he got to discover these orders (eg. maybe in Narae’s case?) and ever since he’s the man to ask for to do the dirty work? Or KMC could have deliberately gained his ‘Wipeout’ reputation to get closer to the truth of what happened 8 years ago?
In the first episode, the video test Joohyun found on Joomin’s laptop is named ‘Lrae091515’: if the drama takes place in 2023, the tragic events surrounding KSJ, KMC and Joohyun ‘8 years ago’ would have taken place in 2015! Could this refer to the final day of KSJ’s trial (or the day Narae was killed)? The pseudo ‘justice15’ could also be a reference to that date.
As for the ‘Lrae’… It could be a wild WILD guess but ‘Lrae’ could be ‘irae’ as in Dies Irae/day of wrath (capital i looks like a lowercase L), which is a sequence in Requiem mass!
The video test was only found on Joomin’s laptop when all the Internet cafe computers got the virus: the one who hacked the computers likely targeted Joomin or her sister, a police officer deliberately.
The tag in Narae’s room (‘the 13th was wrong’):
(It’s also a bit disturbing the tag was sprayed right on top of the ‘My daddy My hero’…)
— the narrative makes us think the tag refers to the 13th failed stab but it could be something else entirely (and perhaps KSJ is keeping this hint to himself?) — if the christian subtext truly exists in this drama (especially with the teacher’s tattoo), 13 is a number often linked in superstitions to the Cena, Judas (who betrayed Jesus, thought to have been the 13th guest to sit down to the Last Supper) and bad luck: whoever tagged this maybe wanted to signal KSJ the man he killed wasn’t the true culprit.
There is also a similar version in the norse mythology I found here:
« In his book “Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things,” Charles Panati traces the concept of the cursed back to Norse mythology, when Loki, the god of mischief, gate-crashed a banquet in Valhalla, bringing the number of gods in attendance to 13. Deceived by Loki, the blind god Hodr was tricked into shooting his brother Balder, the god of light, joy and goodness, with a mistletoe-tipped arrow, killing him instantly. » And… we see the teacher communicating through the ‘Loki’ network (a wordplay for what would be Tor I guess, just as Apple would become a pear on laptops in media haha)!
(This is quite a reach, but for posterity in the opening, the 13th character shown is KMC, and in reverse order Jihoon haha)
The tag neither the news articles on Narae and KSJ’s cases weren’t in Gaetal’s video test:
idk how to explain, but I get the feeling that person A (who leaked the video), B (the Gaetal we see on the video), C (the Gaetal who’s now organizing the Killing Vote) & D (who tagged the wall and pinned the news articles about KSJ and Narae) could be different characters with respective objectives too. The drama highlights a bit too much the premise that Gaetal is one single individual that’s close to KSJ haha At the very least, whoever leaked the video knew someone else, especially KMC, would eventually be able to recognize its contents (‘devils deemed innocent’, Narae’s room and her stuffed bunny). Also for posterity, KMC was the one who ostensibly redirected KSJ’s attention to the picture of the tag on the wall.
The assemblywoman and the teacher both have a habit to touch their ear sometimes (eg. when she talked to him about KMC ; when the teacher was watching the student during PE). Jihoon also did it right after the teacher left: was it to try to reproduce what he did to understand what he was watching or is he linked to them?
At the very least Jihoon seems to know some things about the Killing Vote, the teacher as well as KMC:
— In ep1, he bumped into Joohyun as he went to retrieve one of the cups the teacher seems to make a collection of.
On the cup, there’s an ’S’ graved on it, just as the telltale sign of the Killing Vote is the character ㅅ/siot (시옷), the first character of 사형 (death penalty/capital punishment).
— He seems to know more than he lets on about the Killing Vote and keeps staring at the teacher (as though he knows his past crimes, eg. the closeups on the teacher grabbing/borderline groping Joomin’s shoulder, watching the students during PE etc.).
— He seemed startled when Joomin talked about ‘zombie PCs’.
— In ep3, Jihoon says: « I think [he] took it too far this time. » right after he saw KMC being alive and the man with the cap escape (which could totally be this character in the opening we’ve not yet seen). In Korean, the subject is often omitted and deduced from the context, it’s the case here: the drama keeps the ambiguity on whatever Jihoon meant here.
— Him being Narae’s friend would also make sense: as Narae was 8yo, she would be around Joomin and Jihoon’s age if she was still alive. There’s also Narae’s drawings that keep being showed, a boy/young man is always drawn on it.
As a child’s representation of adults and children could be inaccurate (the height, physical appearance, etc.), the characters we see on her drawings could be alternatively KMC (who was close to KSJ and given KSJ’s answer, also doted on her daughter), KSJ, a boy Narae used to play with (it could be Jihoon), the teacher or BWT, the son of the driver and the housekeeper who were also close to Narae and KSJ.
The assemblywoman asked her assistant to observe her son closely: I guess that refers to his health but it’s also to make sure he doesn’t commit crimes anymore. She also said to her son he definitely knows she’s ready to do anything to make Gaetal join her so that her campaign is successful: this + joking on TV how a mother is above the law suggest she definitely pulled strings to save their reputation (eg. using BWT as a convenient scapegoat ; tampering with the trials ; changing his son’s name etc.).
Joohyun thinks Gaetal acts like a hacker. That would also make Jodan (in ep5, he revealed he was arrested for hacking), Jihoon, the teacher and Joohyun herself suspects!
KSJ’s interest in Joohyun is curious: he even looked into her background once he met her & seems to focus on her habit to scratch her scar ; KMC’s comment on how unusual KSJ’s behavior was (specifically requesting Joohyun to communicate with ; negotiating his pardon — while he didn’t regret what he did at all) makes me think that: — in the letters or in some other way, Gaetal must’ve instructed him to obtain a pardon (perhaps they even told him to get rid of the letters to make him indispensable to the police) — Gaetal must’ve told him he would seek the truth to what happened to Narae: for someone who didn’t regret avenging her daughter, revealing Byun Wootaek was a scapegoat and the true culprit is roaming free out there would be plenty enough drive for him to find a way to get out of prison — whoever they are, Gaetal must’ve an ulterior motive to involve Joohyun, KSJ and KMC together
The first episode showed similar shots of KSJ and KMC (same backlighting, same low-angle shot, KSJ avenging his daughter and KMC lashing out on Bae Gicheol to stop him from abusing his wife):
I wonder if we’ll get to see KMC’s relationship with the woman on his photo (likely his mother), this is probably the only shot we get of him smiling not out of spite ;;
For Mu in Muchan, one of the hanja that can be given as a name is 橅, which means law, and it’s ironic given how the law failed him and KSJ ; sometimes characters are given names that will hold meaning in their development eg. Donghoon & Jian in My Mister ; Dongsik and Juwon in Beyond Evil.
For Ju in Seokju, there is 澍, which means timely/long-awaited rain ; rain has marked 2 important events in KSJ’s life: when he discovered his daughter’s body and when he was arrested by KMC after murdering Byun Wootaek ; there’s also 炷 which means wick, aligning with the OST lyrics (a fire burning in one’s eyes)

Hi there! I saw your post on using discord as a tracker for things and I want to say a couple of things.
I use it for ocs and it works somewhat well (I rarely update it, but at least I can remember about those ocs that I have not toyed with in a while), along with some other things. But for day to day tasks I'm not sure of how useful it can be? I can't keep track of things on a physical diary/calendar/whatever the word is for the thing in English and I don't know how a digital version of it might be better? I mean, I tried in the past via phone notes and after a while (a week tops) I just stopped? I suppose it's more of a me issue?
Another thing, as someone who uses a different pw for everything and has the list written on a sheet of paper, wouldn't it be dangerous to have them on discord? Idk leaks, havkers, that jazz, or is the risk so small that it's trascurable?
hi hi!! im glad that little lifehack post works well enough for your OC purposes!!
i'll be honest first though and say that that post DEFINITELY breached containment and i was not expecting it to get that big, i was wholly just talking to myself HAHA. that being said, it's usefulness really depends on if it works well for you and your own brain purposes!!
i also struggle with keeping diaries/journals, so i simply dont use my personal server for it. the only thing i use my personal server for really, is for sending files to myself across devices so i dont have to bother with bluetooth or cloud or stuff like that. and i use channels as categories of What type of thing im sending to myself. for reference, heres some of my channels in my personal server
so as u can see i rlly dont use it as a personal diary. at most, i use it as a to do list or a to read list for when im switching between my laptop and my phone
i hope that makes sense? kblskjfbsjdffds
now on the matter of passwords: NEVER USE DISCORD TO STORE YOUR PASSWORDS OR ANY SENSITIVE INFORMATION. im like you, i go old school pen and paper style, but yeah really, not on discord. the threat of hacks or leaks or other stuff is too high.
in summary:
i rlly didnt expect that post to go big so im unfamiliar with a lot of the issues that are cropping up for many many people
i find the personal server most useful for storing and sending NON-SENSITIVE INFORMATION, like fanfic ideas or my grocery shopping list or links to stuff i wanna read while im stuck in traffic
in general i dont trust any online-connected-to-the-internet method of storing passwords. pen and paper is the way to go, or if youre more tech savvy than i am, maybe you can look into dedicated password manager softwares.
i hope this can help!!

this is probably the bitchiest and most nitpickey thing i will ever post but
(art is from the idw issue 27 B cover, very good art please check it out and other stuff by jonathan gray, all of his work is VERY cool looking. my extreme focus on a minor detail should not reflect badly on the art lol)
i disagree on a fundamental level with almost every single leaderboard placement in this image.
the rest of this is under the cut bc im going to ramble for so long here. also, i need to put a disclaimer im not actually that mad i just dont think the placements make sense.
im aware that this is the "i dont like that sonics arms are blue, i hate sonics new shoes" kind of crazed sonic fan ramblings. but i do not care. this is like a he would not fucking say that situation to me. except its a they would not fucking place that if they all played video games situation.
SHADOW. DOES NOT KNOW WHAT A VIDEO GAME IS. YOU CANNOT LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND TELL ME SOMEBODY FROM THE 50S WOULD GET THIRD PLACE.
ROUGE, (not pictured,) IS LITERALLY CHEATING. SHE IS CHEATING! SHES USING CHEAT CODES!! SHE GETS SEVENTH?? WHILE CHEATING???
KNUCKLES. IS 1. WEARING BOXING GLOVES. AND 2. ALSO HAS LIKELY NEVER PLAYED A VIDEO GAME! HE GREW UP ON A REMOTE ISLAND! THEY DID NOT BRING HIM FORTNITE! you can make the argument that he has since played video games after becoming friends with sonic. but fifth place? he played his first video game at age 16 and youre telling me he beat amy? and tangle? and rouge who, im still not over this, IS CHEATING??
but i digress. im going to give my own ideal placements and reasoning for all of them.
Big
Tails
Rouge
Tangle
Sonic
Amy
Cream
Shadow
Knuckles
Jet
OK; my reasoning for each of these is as follows.
Big is funny and it would be funny if he beat everybody else, its unexpected. its a good joke.
Tails is tech-savvy, i wouldnt be surprised if he knew a few glitches and some speedrun tech. he also likely has good control and experience with playing.
Rouge is literally cheating. the only reason she isnt first is because i think she doesnt play video games that often so she is at a disadvantage on pure technical skill, and also she is sitting upside down (not pictured)
Tangle just seems like a gamer to me. She is a normal person who plays video games in her free time and so she knows how to play fairly well.
Sonic, by all means, SHOULD be in sixth, however i cannot in my mind separate sonic from being a gamer. i know he likely barely plays because he spends his time outdoors and travelling, but sonic being in sixth is so viscerally wrong to me that i had to put him in fifth. its the highest i could justify.
Amy, by all means, SHOULD be in fifth, however, in the image she is raging (not pictured) so i feel that she would be playing worse than usual. shes a normal person who i can see playing video games sometimes.
Cream is a normal kid who i think plays video games fairly often. her mom probably has screen time limits or something but cream is playing minecraft when she can. she is only this low because she is six years old. gemerl is giving her strategy tips. she would be much higher if she had fully developed fine motor skills.
Shadow and Knuckles i can really see being flipped, however, i just see Shadow being a teensy bit higher. While i think shadow knows less about video games, i think he would do better while playing since he has perfect reflexes and also isnt wearing boxing gloves. but i must stress both he and Knuckles are dogshit at video games.
Knuckles could be swapped with Shadow, but, despite knowing more and having possibly played a game or two before, Knuckles is wearing boxing gloves which are bad for gaming, and despite having warrior reflexes due to his training, he really cant beat the ultimate lifeform reflex kind of junk. but again, it could go either way, they both suck at video games.
Jet loses because its funny if he loses. same thing as Bigs. good joke, 10/10 i have no notes.
and thats it. that is my ideal ranking. it will forever slightly piss me off that the official sonic the hedgehog "which characters are gamers" lore does not fit with my interpretations of them. but what can you do.
(make an overly long text post about it, thats what!)
#sth#good lird#me posts#espio wasnt playing but i feel like he would be somewhat good at video games#im going to shut up and leave it there lest i wind up with 7000 more words about every sonic character ranked by how good they are at video#-games#sonic the hedgehog#idw sonic

... claws my way up from hell once more and vomits onto the dash.... hello. its nora. i used to write rory bergstrom, but if u were here before that u might remember me as greta or alma putnam or..... som1 else.... an endless carousel of trash children..... this is finn, who i actually wrote for an early version of this rp abt 5yrs back now...... grits teeth..... so forgive me if im rusty i havent written him in a long time but seein honey boy gave me a lotta finn muse n im keen to get Back On The Horse yeehaww...
DYLAN O’BRIEN / CIS-MALE — don’t look now, but is that finn o’callaghan i see? the 25 year old criminology and forensic studies student is in their graduate year of study year and he is a rochester alum. i hear they can be judicious, adroit, morose and cynical, so maybe keep that in mind. i bet he will make a name for themselves living off-campus. ( nora. 24. gmt. she/her )
shakes my tin can a humble pinterest, ma’am....
finn has a bio pasted at the bottom (n written in like.... 2015.... gross) but it’s long so if u don’t wanna read it here’s the sparknotes summary..... anyway this was written years ago n a lot of it seems really cliche and lame now but..... we accept the trash we think we deserve
grumpy, ugly sweater wearing, tech-savvy grandpa
very dry sense of humour and embraces nihilism.
if ron swanson and april ludgate had a baby it would be finn
he was raised in derry, just south of dublin.
from a big family. elder sister called sinead. he also has a younger sister (aoife), a younger brother (colm), and a collie named lassie because his father lovs cliches (finn hates cliches but loves his dog).
his father was a pub landlord and his mother worked at the market sellin fruit n veg when they met but got a job as a medical receptionist when she had kids cos it meant she cld be there with them in the day and work nights.
his parents met when they were p young and fiesty and rushed into marriage cos they were catholic n just wanted to have sex. his family were literally dirt-poor, but they had a lot of love i guess
hmmmmm his relationship w his father wasn’t the best cos i can’t write character who have healthy relationships w their parents throws up a peace sign. yh, had a pretty emotionally distant, alcoholic violent father n so gets a lot of his bad habits i.e. drinking as a coping mechanism and poor anger management from him BUT anyway
as a kid he was never very motivated in class, he always had a nervous itch to be off somewhere doing something else. struggled under government austerity bcso there just wasn’t the resources to support low income families where the kids had learning difficulties n needed support. fuck the tories am i right
his mum suggested he try sports to help w his restless energy but he was never any good at football so he took up boxing and tap dance instead. he took to tap dancing like a fish to fuckin water. as adhd n found this as a really good way to use his excess energy in a creative way
had a few run ins with the police in his early teens for spray painting and graffiti, but he straightened himself out n now actually considering becoming a detective inspector??? cops are pigs.
he had a youtube channel where he posted videos of him tapdancing and breakdancing as a kid, basically would be a tiktok boy nowadays, n had like... a small fanbase in his early teens. attended several open auditions unsuccessfully, until he was finally cast in billy eliot when he was fifteen.
during billy eliot he began dating an italian dancer called nina. they became dance partners soon after and toured across the republic with various different shows (inc riverdance lol the classic irish stereotype). their relationship was p toxic tbh, they were both very hot tempered people and just used to argue and fight all the time.
he went semi-pro at tap dancing, and nina couldn’t stand being second best so she moved back to italy with her family. ignored his texts, phone calls, etc, eventually he was driven to the point where he used his savings to buy a plane ticket, showed up at her house and she was like wtf?? freaked out and filed a restraining order accusing him of stalking.
he was fined for harassment and then returned home to derry, but after the incident with nina he quit dancing for good and finished his leaving cert before heading to university in the US to get as far away from nina and his past life as poss. and basically since he quit dancing to study forensics (death kink. finn cant get enough of that morgue. just walks around sayin beat u) he’s become a massive grump and jsut doesn’t see the good in people any more.
u’ll find finn in an old man bar drinking whiskey bc he is in fact an old man at heart or sat on his roof smoking a joint, drawing wolves and lions and skeletons and shit, playing call of duty or getting blazed or at the corner of the room in a house party ignoring everyone and scrolling through twitter. is a massive e-boy. always up-to-date on memes and internet slang. has reddit as an app on his phone
not very good at communication. rather than solve his issues by talking, he’d prefer to just solve them through fighting or running away from his problems hence why he has come halfway across the world to get away from an issue which probs cld have been solved w a few apology emails.
takes a lot to phase him, but when his beserk button gets pressed he can become a bit pugnacious like an angry lil rottweiler. in his undergrad he was in a few fist fights but doesn’t really do tht any more as he doesn’t condone violence.
in the previous version of this rp he was hospitalised like 5 times. pls, give my son a break. stop tryin to kill him. he literaly got a bottle smashed over his head and bled out all over his favourite angora rug that was the only light of his life
works at the campus coffee shop n always whines about how he’s a slave to capitalism. always smells of coffee
lives off campus with an elderly woman named Marianne, and basically gets reduced rent bcos he makes her dinner / keeps her company. they have a great bond
fan of karl marx. v big on socialism
insomniac with chronic nosebleeds
cynical about everything. too much of a fight club character 4 his own good n has his head up tyler durden’s sphincter
always confused or annoyed

full bio (lame as fuck written years ago..... pleathe...)
tw homophobia
born in quigley’s pub on the backstreets of sunny dublin, young finnegan o'callaghan was thrown kicking and screaming into the rowdy suburbs of irish drinking culture. the son of a landlord and a fishwife, he never had much in the way of earnings, but there was never a dull moment in his lively estate, where asbo’s thrived, but community spirit conquered. at school, finn was pegged as lazy and unmotivated, though truly his dyslexia made it hard for the boy to learn in the same environment of his peers and only made him more closed-off in class. struggling with anger management, finn moved from school to school, unable to fit the cookie-cutter mould that school enforced on him, though whilst academic studies were of little interest to the boy, he soon found his true passions lay in recreational activities. immersed into the joys of sport from as young as four, finn was an ardent munster fan and anticipated nothing more than the day he could finally fit into his brother’s old pair of rugby boots.
his calling finally came unexpectedly, not in the form of rugger, but through dance. to learn to express himself in a non-academic way, he began tap dancing, finding therapy in the beat of his soles against the cracked kitchen tiles (much to his mother’s disgrace). it wasn’t a conscious choice, finn just realised one day that dance was something that made him feel. a king of the streets, finn made his fortune on those cobbled pavements – dancing and drawing to earn his keep. by default, finn became a street artist, each penny he earned from his chalk drawings saved in a jam jar towards buying his first pair of tap shoes. though many of his less-than-amiable neighbours called him a nancy and a gaybo, finn refused to quit at his somewhat ‘unconventional’ hobby, for the young scrapper found energy, life, and released anger through the rhythm of tap. soon he branched out into street dance, hip hop, break dancing, lyrical, his days spent smacking his scuffed feet against the broken patio into the night.
when he was thirteen he took up boxing, and as expected, his newfound ‘macho’ pastime conflicted with his dancing. the boxers called him ‘soft’; the dancers called him ‘inelegant’. he felt like two different people; having to choose between interests was like being handed a knife and asked to which half of himself he wished to cut away. he couldn’t afford professional training in dance, with most schools based in england and limited scholarships available. instead, he made the street his studio, racking up a small fanbase on youtube. when he was fifteen he made his debut in billy eliot at the olympia theatre in dublin. enter nina de souza, talented, beautiful and italian; ballet dancer, operatic singer, genius whiz kid, and spoiled brat. she was selfish, conceited, hell bent on getting her own way, and every director’s nightmare. finn fell for her like a house of cards. he’d always had a soft spot for girls who meant trouble. and so their hellish courtship began.
by the time they were seventeen, the two young swans had danced in every playhouse across the republic. they were known in theatres across the country for their tempestuous personalities, their raging arguments with one another, their tendency to drop out of shows altogether without any notice, yet the money kept rolling in and the audiences continued to grow. for three years, their families continued to put up with their hysterical fights followed by passionate reconciliations. he was too possessive, and she was too wild. their carcrash of a relationship finally came to a catastrophic halt when nina broke off the whole affair and returned to italy with her family. for months finn tried to contact her, yet his phone calls, texts, facebook messages were always ignored, until finally he was driven to drastic measures and used his savings to get a plane to her home town. when finn turned up uninvited at nina’s house she freaked out – and rightly so – she contacted her agent, accused him of stalking her, and had a restraining order placed against him. finn was arrested, held in a station overnight, and charged with harassment before he was allowed to return to dublin.
after the incident with nina, finn lost the fight in his eyes. he became far more hostile, far less likely to retaliate with his own fists, and picked fights not for the thrill of feeling his own fists pummel another into a wall, but for the sensation of his own brittle bones cracking. he dropped his tap shoes in a dumpster, stopped talking to his friends, followed his father’s advice and went back to school to complete his leaving certificate. a few short months later, and finn was packing his bags, saying his bittersweet goodbyes, and travelling half-way across the globe to be as far away as possible from his past self, his mess of a life, and most of all nina. it seemed somehow ironic that the boy who had been cautioned by the garda so much during his youth for spray painting, busking without a liscence, and raucous parties would become the grumpy, aloof overseas student studying a degree in criminology; that his once reckless spirit could be crushed so easily.
of all things that finn could be called, straightforward would never be one of them. ever since his first days in atticus, the boy was pegged as hostile, hot-headed, cynical, rude. he seemed to spend more time in his thoughts than engaging in conversation. like a ticking time-bomb, finn’s anger was of the calm kind, liable to explode without a moment’s noticed. his unpredictable personality make him something of an enigma to those who aren’t amiable with the lad, though hostile as he may appear, he harvests a good heart. loyalty lies at the centre of his affections, and whilst his friends are few in number, he makes a lifelong partner. somewhere within finn, there’s still some fight left, but mostly he has recognised that his hedonistic lifestyle did little to leave him fulfilled – mostly, it just emptied him out – and over his three years at university has resigned himself to a nihilistic predicament.

what’s good, fam ? i’m yumi and have here for y’all one ( 1 ) twenty yr old, year five, hyeon mu, & certified dumbass nerd park sunwoo. his profile can be found here & a nice lil’ rundown can be found under the cut. i have a twt ( @sichengly ) and discord ( #yumi1724 ) if you’d like to plot there, but if you’re shy then smash that heart & i’ll come sliding into your ims instead !
a half blood, born in new york & lived there until he was 3 while his dad was working overseas in partnership with macusa & ilvermorny admins on a big tech project
who is this Big Bad Important Daddy? why none other than park hyun seok!! founder & ceo of haneul industries aka the korean wizarding world’s equivalent of steve jobs
95% of the average modern magical household’s hi-wizard tech?? your sleek phone with the cute little cloud logo on the rose gold glass back?? all haneul industries.
so y’know he got that money and that clout or whateva
unsurprisingly, having been his dad’s beta tester for a lot of different products, he’s pretty tech savvy. hit him up if your computer’s being weird or if you’ve got a cracked phone screen & he’ll give it a quick reparo charm
he’s the middle child ( his brother is 10 yrs older than him, y i k e s ) prob means he won’t inherit the company and be the next Big Bad CEO but it’s chill, he doesn’t really want to run the company anyways
he’s comfortable with the fact that he’ll prob get to be the company’s coo or maybe even chairman of a department of choice
except here’s the thing: he’s just that. comfortable. he’s not super excited or passionate about any of that stuff tbh
another thing: he’s not sure what he’s passionate about, he hasn’t found anything viable yet & the lack of motivation and ambition he has for prospective careers is really starting to cause him anxiety cause he doesn’t want to be just comfortable. he wants to really Live Life y’know??
so basically he’s kind of at a loss & doesn’t have a clue as to what he wants to do with the rest of his life & doesn’t know how to decide something as big as that when he can’t even decide what he wants to eat for dinner tonight cause he’s hella indecisive & low key may have commitment issues?? idk but it really is starting to seem like it, huh
the only thing he’s really, really into is .... video games & pc games ... typical 20s korean male behavior
so yeah when he’s not doing school stuff, catch him in his room or at a pc bang!! ( he frequents both the magical and maeobsa ones, but prefers the maeobsa. he swears the ramen there hits different. ) you can also find him live streaming league of legends on twitch!! he does gaming mukbangs too cause food + overwatch + pocket money from viewers = a Win in his book
entering 5th yr with an undecided major still cause he doesn’t love any subject enough to dedicate his entire life to it, ya feel me?
a conditional student meaning he does very well in classes that really grind his gears & makes him wonder 2347981 different things
but is borderline passing classes he finds boring or couldn’t care less about
personality wise he’s super laid back, very chill & open minded.
kind of a walking contradiction, will say things & then do the opposite of that .02 sec later. an example: “dude, i can’t believe you’re really gonna drink that potion. it looks so nasty.” but like. he drinks it right after saying that. weird, i know.
curious and blunt to a fault. may ask you inappropriately personal or completely random questions cause he just wants to Know.
is literally captain obvious
says dude a little too much & says yoOOoO too loudly when excited
a real lazy bum ( and a whiner at that ) so someone’s gotta physically drag him out of bed & force him to go out and have fun
overall he’s a nerd ok but he’s my nerd so pls pls pls send me sum luv & plot w me
#: // YUMI_MEMO.#he's more interesting than he sounds#i s wear#ill also be getting to ims now!#mm:intro

oh geez, imagine being that ugly and not leaving things be. i would just keep capping (maybe keep them private for now) and ignore them though, don’t feed the trolls and all that. thats how i usually deal with problematic people in the past because they thrives on all kinds of attention and they’d lose interest very fast once derived of it.
i’m sorry you’re going through this :(
all this over differing opinions on -facebook-. imagine having that much free times to waste and it’s being spent on arguing about the -facebook- and insist on being right.
experiences aren’t universal, that’s just how it is.
take a break for a little while, okay? 💕❤️💕
It wasn't even an opinion, it was me stating my sims accounts (one backup cause fuck Zuckerberg for siding with racists, homophobes, and transphobes by banning me for a month on my sims main) never needed a government-issued ID and I just wanted to see some visual evidence of what was being discussed.
Green highlight is Yukika's response to me (snlangford is my main, yandere here is one of the side blogs off of main). It's this damn response that started this shit. They could've went "read the notes to know what I'm discussing" or something like that, but NOPE they went straight to insulting and attacking me instead of calmly telling me to look. So imo, they started all of this shit when I just wanted some visual proof.
CAUSE IM A PERSON WHO IS MORE TECHNICAL. I prefer physical evidence over just claims as I've had friends falsely accused for shit and so on. So I act more of a skeptic even when I do believe because I want evidence.
Me wanting some evidence made Yukika throw their shit and start this whole damn mess with their name-calling and attitude. And when I called them out for it and tried to reason, they said I was harassing by having to reblog onto this blog, my dialoving-lemons, and my ONS blog this-livestock-bites-back. I simply gave them solutions and told them they have a stinky attitude. I understand if they feel that's harassment and will accept that, but them continuing on to make fun of, bully, and harass me isn't okay.
I'm saving receipts and looking at my trackers for any unusual activity too. If not there, I thankfully know some tech-savvy people that can help me track ips another way if they continue the harassment and I do need to submit this to the police. They've helped me with cyberbullying and threats online before.

USB Flash Memory Drive - What You Should Know
Some people argue that the USB flash memory drive (aka thumb drive) is the modern replacement to the archaic floppy disk. Other people say that the writable CD/DVD media is the replacement to the floppy.
Regardless of the point of view one takes, it is undeniable that the USB thumb drive has seriously changed the landscape of data storage.
Modern laptops can of course boot off the CD or thumb drive but it is the convenience of the latter that makes it so popular today.
Just think about it - you could buy a cheap generic flash drive the size of your thumb that can hold 2GB of data vs 1.44MB on a 3.5 inch floppy disk. Floppies are still useful but thumb drives are really handy for backing up and transporting documents, photos, movies and music.
Tips To Bear In Mind
Safely removing Your USB
Are you one of the many people who just yanks the USB flash memory drive out of its port? If you do, that is not the correct way to go about removing your USB as that could result in data loss and damage to the device.
Also Read: TwitSpark Helps Brands Improve Their Customer Support
When you are ready to take out your flash drive, right click on the USB icon that appears on the bottom right side of your computer screen and then click "Safely Remove Hardware." Then select the device you want to remove. corsair usb flash drive Encrypting Your Thumb Drive
Losing a USB flash memory drive is quite easy to do. And the last thing you want is someone reading or looking at your personal files. To keep the contents safe and away from prying eyes, we suggest encryption.
A great encryption software is a free open source program called TrueCrypt (page also links to an installation guide).
Another option for encryption is Microsoft's BitLocker. However this technology is limited to Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate editions and Windows Server 2008 R2.
If you are not willing to encrypt you USB drive, we suggest you don't put any important documents on it. Or in the alternative, get a USB with a PIN such as the Corsair Flash Padlock 2.
USB Flash Drive Speed
If you are running operating systems or apps off your USB flash memory drive or simply if time is of the essence, you'd want a fast flash drive. The greater the speed, the faster files transfer and the more responsive programs are.
Thumb drive speed is mostly dependent on the release date of a drive and the memory that is used by the maker. At the moment, there are three speed modes defined - SuperSpeed (USB2.0), Hi-Speed (USB 2.0) and Full-Speed (USB 1.1).
SuperSpeed mode has a data transfer rate of 4.8Gbps, whilst data transfer rates of Hi-Speed and Full-speed can theoretically function at 480Mbps and 12Mbps respectively.
For the average user, USB 2.0 will suffice but if one is into more demanding stuff such as saving High Definition content and apps on your USB, then you'd be better off going with USB 3.0 thumb drive.
No USB Flash Memory Drives At Work?
USB flash drives can be purposely used to spread malware on a computer network. Of course malware can be spread unwittingly, but the bottom line is that malware can cost companies billions in lost revenue.
Consequently, companies may have special policies and software to prevent the use of USB storage devices on their computers.
Fake USB Flash Memory Drives
It is unfortunate but fake thumb drives are sometimes sold, often attracting consumers with their so-called large storage capacities.
In actual fact, these devices are commonly low storage capacity USB drives (such as a 2GB) that are modified to reflect larger capacities such as 8GB. When data is written to those fake drives, they might freeze up, overwrite existing data or fail altogether.
The likelihood of you buying a fake drive from a reputable supplier is remote. However, in case you buy a USB flash drive with claims of exorbitant memory, we suggest that you run a test to verify the claim. If it is fake, try to get a refund.
Running Apps On A USB
With USB storage capacities getting bigger over time, not only can you store larger files but also store applications as well.
At the time of this article, there are 3 main platforms for running a portable application from a flash drive - U3, PortableApps and Ceedo.
Even though savvy users can tweak applications to allow then to launch directly off a thumb drive, applications written for U3 smart drives do not need a tech savvy person to set up and are in addition, totally legal. USB flash memory drive The U3 platform is the oldest of the three application above-mentioned. It first entered the market in 2005 by SanDisk. It operates by mounting a virtual CD-ROM drive in addition to the main storage partition.
The virtual CD-ROM would then trigger the Windows Autorun feature and execute a "LaunchPad" in the system tray to offer fast access to applications and data housed on the USB flash memory drive. As security is critical, U3 makes it possible to deny access to personal information from a host computer.
The U3 initially showed lots of promise and was strongly supported by big software developers such as McAfee and Skype. However the platform eventually went south because of poor public support and a lot of neglect. Users also became frustrated with issues such as slow loading times.
Read more about U3 platform here.
Users would be better off going with PortableApps. It has a host of free and open source software that is available to be used with it. Examples of such software are antivirus clients, Firefox, games and IM clients etc.
What is even more pleasing is that the platform is constantly being updated with patches and new applications.
Of the 3 platforms, Ceedo is the most unique. It is available for all flash drives and utilizes its own portable application directories and registry hives to essentially envelope and host applications that were not initially intended to be portable.
Like the other two platforms, Ceedo has a launcher that allows the quick accessing of files and portable applications. However, it has a few disadvantages.
For one thing, it does not work as good with applications that require their own services. Plus, certain applications may need use of admin privileges on the host PC.
Furthermore, Ceedo is not free - it costs $39.17 (which is not expensive) and does require activation. It is therefore no surprise to see that its adoption rate is not as high as U3 and PortableApps.
Before you make a commitment to Ceedo one way or the other, you could take the 30-day free trial to see if it is a fit.

#PLLENDGAME finale predictions
Please dont let marlene and friends “confirmations” keep u closed minded.
So they confirmed a time jump btwn 719 and 720.. bullshit They also confirmed toby was “pure evil, bad intentions” and no they wont go the transgender route
They cant make a year later and the girls dont know who A is and Ezria still arent married. It will most likely be after the reveal and answers then we get a time jump and see where the girls end up.
Mona is seriously ill. She ends up back in an institution face 2 face with A. Im so afraid she will die
Aria finds out something devastating about Ezra. Clearly she is the most distraught from all the girls. Even goes as far as to say they cant marry. Too obvious to make him A. Could he be the sperm donor? Ie. Emisons baby daddy. He had a sick obsession with Alison, the book, the lair (with the creepy ass blown up photos), dating her. Mona was on track to find baby daddy and we know Ezra is tech savvy. Is this his sick way of fulfilling an even sicker Alison fantasy. After all his masters degree in American literature will help him with dead bodies (wtf was that about)
Melissa and Wren are back.
Wren.. sweet baby wren. I stand by my theory that he is Bethanys brother. He could know mona hit his sister and shoot mona. We know he plays a big part in the end. After all isnt bethany the basis of everything? It was her dead season 1 after all. Perhaps he knew about her drawings, jessica, mary, spencer, melissas involvement in ultimately killing her (dirt in lungs)
Melissa is here to please fans. Did she know about Mary? Spencer? ABSOLUTELY. “I did this to protect u spencer, since before it started.” Even garrett mentioned protecting Spencer on the train.
Jenna can see. We see that in the promo. But the question is, for how long?
Im all for a TWINCER storyline but how much more unrealistic can we get. There was already a hidden sibling (charles) a hidden twin (mary) they cant do that again. Spencers moodswings addictions and odd behaviour could just be genetics. Her lineage has a history of mental illness. Take Ali for example, remember when she had a bloody lip? Crying and opening up then BAM back to bitchy Ali! Doesnt mean much except they have some issues.
If there is a twin i am all for it! I love Spencers character and Troians acting so i will take it… but i highly doubt it.
I feel like they went big, outside the box with charles… cece… charlotte. This reveal needs to be simple, clear, devastating.
Paige- no way. People will be pissed Lucas- accused too many times. Cant be him Melissa- already a killer and made to look like A too much already. Too obvi Wren- will be involved in something but isnt A Parents- is nothing sacred Toby- we need spoby for endgame Caleb- we need haleb for endgame Ezra- too obvious from the promos Charlotte- cant bring another person back from the dead Bethany- same as charlotte Who is left guys???
Jason.
My sweet, gorgeous Jason. He is the center of all things major on pll.
- he is a dilaurentis (raised) - he is a hastings - NAT club - odd scar possibly from Halloween train never explained. - always travelling - has the money to be A - slept with Ashley Marin yet A never told Hanna that yet? p.s. he slept with pastor teds girlfriend.. charlottes birth father, was it revenge?? - dated charlotte - really close to charles. - Jenna was almost killed in his house - gave Spencer a bag he found of alis things (even though mayas family owned the house alis shit was still around) - he likes Arias pink hair. In the dollhouse she was forced to dye it. - liked aria. Notice A always tried to break Ezria up and Aria was not physically harmed by A (wilden and meredith hurt her) - NAT was his idea.
- cece and jasons breakup was complicated… ya learning your girlfriend is your long lost brother/cousin is complicated. - he paid lucas to find out who stole the body and acted shady ever since that day. Possibly when he joined Charlottes game.
In the vault there were 2 ppl. One was watching Ali on screen the other stood there and looked at Emily when the girls burnt down the vault. The prom scene?? Why the hell would a transgender female dress like a man??? Spencer even said something seemed familiar like a cousin. Lmfao jason is her brother and her cousin.
Think about it. AD wanted to know who killed Charlotte. Why? Archer loved her, Mary was her mom, why would AD care? Another family member
Cast members said fans from day 1 will be pleased, it answers a lot of questions, you can go back to thr beginning and see hiw it happenned. Even if he joined Charlottes game. He has always been shady from day 1! If i had to guess right now. It would be Jason . Just putting him in the hoodie answers so many questions without actually answering them. Did he learn something back in his NAT days to fuel this? He started having people film for him watching these girls... over the years it escalated to this sick game of life or death with people working for him... watching and playing with these girls
“I never would’ve guessed it was you”
I would be very happy with this. Tell me what you guys think!!

3. rant. just do it
ok this was a draft from when Bon Appetit was going down the drain and i was extremely annoyed and bothered by how the discussion about it was being held in this all-women Slack group i’m in. it really mostly comprises of extremely rich white mid-20year olds who only used to shop at Reformation and only use Glossier/Golde/Milk Makeup/Kosas products. a lot of it probably wont make sense unless you kept up to date with what went on with BA, but two things that i want to note is that 1) i don’t like the me who calls people crazy and goes ??????? when others share wildly different opinions from me, even when i think those opinions are flat out wrong. it’s language that im trying to change bc i also do it when im even mildly annoyed at people, which is bad. that’s one reason why i didnt initially post this here bc i was abit ashamed. idk if thats right or wrong but ya. 2) i didnt share this earlier bc while i still stand by what i said about Gaby being an immigrant status i was and am afraid of being called out as insensitive or wrong. it would be nice to hear opinions about this, if anyone has any at all. but yes, it is very long and very passionate, please dont mind......
this is with regards to the BA drama and the Slack group i mentioned here awhile ago. the people there are so...????? not only is their cancel culture ugly but their flimsy explanations and lack of care for their words just makes everything that comes out of their mouth performative. there’s a whole thread with 150++ messages about the BA situation and i said i was sorely disappointed with Gaby’s willy nilly response to the initial Sohla uprising. for context, Gaby is Argentinian, is BA’s test kitchen manager as well as the oldest member of the BA universe. she posted a story saying: “Hey guys! I am not one for following what the heck is going on! You know me, I do my own thing! I cook and be happy! 💚🌈 💚🌈 💚🌈” while the BIPOC members of BA were risking their jobs by going public about the systemic racism within Conde Nast. the white members of BA had stood in solidarity(🤔) with the BIPOC members, and Gaby is the only one who chose to bow out of all of it. someone replied saying maybe its bc Gaby’s an immigrant, like their mom, who was afraid to get involved in politics of any sorts because doing so in her time meant death. please tell me if im being insensitive but i think thats a grossly biased biography to impose on someone else, esp w such a clearly tonedeaf “💚🌈💚🌈” response at a time like that. i replied that and said yknow what, maybe thats true, maybe its not, but Gaby couldve read the room and given a much more neutral response even if she didnt care about it. THEN someone else replied saying they agreed with the previous person - “[i think] people are being too harsh on her. She is of a different generation who perhaps doesn’t grasp the role of social media in this movement. How can we expect her to condemn her EIC in the most thoughtful, politically correct way, when English is not her first language and the US is not her first country?” ???????? just saying Gaby doesnt “get it” bc shes old and an immigrant? i thought it was wholly condescending and fired back saying Gaby has mentioned being in the states fr a very long time and she knows how to put up highlights on instagram ffs, shes tech and English savvy. i also said Gaby’s language was very telling and tonedeaf “i do my own thing”. then the person replied saying “oh i didnt mean it like that, her response to me was representative of tbings we’ve heard from our own immigrant families right? “A lot of survival as an immigrant is tied to “I do my own thing” and that is inherently privileged while being a victim of the white supremacist system at the same time” 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 i did not like the “right?” super annoying rally tactic like actually debate w me dude. and if she hadnt meant to say Gaby didnt “get it” maybe she shouldve worded her thoughts far more carefully. also um..? i understand what youre saying but my whole point is Gaby shouldve been more careful with her words. pegging all of this onto her immigrant status, while may be right, seems so¿ what if Gaby didnt give a fuck, just like she shows she doesnt in her words? then what? like? am i crazy?? then i said i‘d rather she had said nth at all if she was gonna hang her members to dry. THEN THE PERSON RESPONDED, “LETS BE REAL [INSERTS BA’S WHITE MEMBERS] ARENT GNA LOSE THEIR JOBS” ????? I was very clearly talking about the BIPOC members...... why would i talk abt the immune white members..... she mustve barely read anything i said!!!
then w regards to the Delaney situation, some of them were like “he was in college when he used the queer slur?? when i was in high school everyone already knew better than to say it” “19???? way too old to be saying shit like that” sure he shouldve known better but age should not be the issue here. + Delaney has been one of the most vocal BA members abt BLM! hes clearly changed as a person, if not is at least one willing to learn frm mistakes! people were hunting him down on twitter, screenshotting shit frm 2012. they called him a coward fr deleting his twitter and tumblr - but whats the point of digging fr more shit to say “yes Delaney was indeed a bigot frat boy” when you already have a handful. i never knew what cancel culture was until this. other things theyve said include “🚫 no more conde nast 🚫 society has moved past the need for conde nast / ugggghhhhhh damn it, it’s my fault for thinking a white man could be unproblematic” howww. Later on Brad said he would quit if they fired Delaney and everyoneeee was like “duh Brad’s an outdoorsy white man 🥴🥴” ??? 1. THATS A DUMB STATEMENT TO MAKE 2. THE PERSON WHO POSTED THIS IS ALSO WHITE. what if Brad will quit bc Delaneys a friend????? then what? 85% of the BA team is white, Carla and Molly went to Italy while Chaey wasnt even paid fr the Thanksgiving series, Claire gets something crazy like 20k for every gourmet makes, and Molly was the chummiest member with Rapo, and you’re saying “duh Brad’s an outdoorsy white man”?? get your shit together
ok last one is when in response to my point about how Molly was so friendly w Rapo that she was the only one who‘d snap at Rapo as if he wasnt the scary prissy boss the same girl who said Brad is an outdoorsy white man said “oh i actually saw that as a personal coping mechanism against Rapo’s toxicity!!” i really died
#seems silly to answer 14 now but#i dont drink coffee!#and i will leave 12 for another day because im sure i know of some good ones

I need help. My mom threatened to take my internet away forever (she thinks I lied, but I didn’t I simply couldn’t remember something.) If I lose the internet I will be unable to communicate with any and all friends - irl or online -, lose access to autism or lgbt positivity, access to SpIns, etc. If I don’t live up to her overly high expectations she’ll do this AND search my phone and computer which will out me as lgbt [1/?] 🔴
And she CAN’T know that I’m ace and nb and she is VERY against both of those things. I fear my own safety and I shake when she’s mad. I have no real life escape. I cannot hide in my room, I have no friends near enough to go to and stay with so I can feel safe. I’m at a loss. If I loose internet access, I probably won’t be able to go online until I’m college. I’m a HS freshman. This could happen at random. I don’t know. I can’t tell anyone about this. I think it’s emotional abuse. She [2/?] 🔴
Yells at me a lot, insults me, I feel safe nowhere. She yells at me for having shutdowns and anxiety attacks. I looked up the symptoms of emotional abuse and I have almost all of them. I can’t get out of here until I’m 18. Im 14. If I lose the internet than I have nothing positive, and I lose what little communication with friends that I have. I need help and don’t know where to go. Please, can you offer some advice. I need help. Thank you. [3/3] 🔴
We’re really sorry we are only able to answer now! We hope you are ok and that you are able to read this because that would mean that your mum hasn’t taken away your internet access yet.
You are right: all of the things you have described in your ask that your mum does (yelling at you, insulting you, violating your privacy and controlling you by going through your phone, threatening you / withholding something of value to you) would be considered emotional abuse and this is not ok.
Generally, we suggest talking to your parent(s) first and getting other adults involved that may be able to take your side. That said, reaching out to someone outside the family or talking to someone other than the parent can sometimes anger the abusive parent, causing them to react with an increase in abusive behaviour. In a situation where the person you have sought out for support actually does support you, this doesn’t have to be an issue. However, if staying with other (non-abusive) family were an option, especially long-term, that might be preferable.
In the meantime, you may be able to convince her to continue letting you use the internet by telling her it’s needed for school work. That way you may be able to get away with using it for other things as well, even if less frequently and for shorter periods of time than before. Depending on your mum’s level of familiarity with computers and if she were to monitor your internet use closely, this may or may not work. There are also some public places you can go online, such as some public libraries or internet cafés. Beyond that, if you have the option of saving money in some capacity, you might be able to buy a phone of your own that you can use. You don’t need to go for a brand new, expensive phone and don’t necessarily need a contract here, as you may be able to get internet access using a used prepaid phone (although it may be more expensive than if you had a contract).
As for privacy and being outed when your mum goes through your phone, it’s possible to hide apps on your phone. This is possible both on android and iOS. Again, if this will work depends on how tech-savvy your mum is.
Do keep in mind though that any of these options are likely to anger your mum if discovered, so do consider if they are doable for you, if you feel comfortable with this and what the consequences might be. If in doubt, opt for whatever option will keep you safe.
Finally, blogs such as @parentless-suggestions and @speakingofabuse may be able to help too.
We would like to stress that, no matter what your mother does or how people react when you open up, it is not a reflection of who you are. You are an important, valuable person. You deserve to be treated well, listened to and respected. You are not overreacting. If you can and would like to, keep us updated!
Do any followers have any additional tipps for anon?

IMAlive: A Global Crisis Chat Service
IMAlive.org is an online crisis counseling service that uses an instant message (IM) chat interface instead of phone or SMS texting.
I maintain Online Suicide Help, a global directory of services which are usually restricted to one country or even one small town. This has meant that most countries in the world could not access any services. Recently I learned that IMAlive changed its service area from US and Canada to be the first crisis chat service available worldwide, and I emailed to find out more about this change. John Plonski, IMAlive’s Director of Training and Developer of its Helping Empathically As Responders Training (HEART) program, kindly wrote back to share more.
Q. Why was IMAlive created as a web-based crisis counselling service?
A. The advent of IMAlive marked a logical next step in the evolution of providing helping services to those in crisis or at risk of suicide. As internet use became ubiquitous (it took 70 years for 90% of American homes to have electricity it took only 26 years for the Internet to reach a similar saturation level) those of us in the helping field made a move that paralleled the shift from face-to face assisting to telephone helping that happened in the early 1960’s. The internet represented barrier free portal to help paralleled the use of the telephone.
Q. Why do people prefer it to a phone helpline or texting service?
A. Allowing that the IMAlive platform handles text and chat (IM) in the same manner and those who come to us use either method this answer will address the user preference over telephone access. Additionally, I feel I need to make the clarification that the advent “digital interactions” (DI) has not created a paradigm shift from telephone services. Rather (citing the experiences of agencies that have both telephone and DI access) the numbers of telephone interactions have continue to follow statistical norms and DI has augmented the total number people reaching out. But back to the question:
• The person reaching out “digitally” is most likely using the most accessible means of communication available to them. • The perception of confidentiality – When I say this I am not speaking in terms of the “agency” standards of confidentiality and anonymity but the fact the person reaching out does not have to worry about someone overhearing their conversation. Think in terms of privacy rather than confidentiality. • The DI provides a sense of protection to those who feel they are judged, ridiculed or viewed as being “different” by those around them. • Some people have more confidence in expressing their thoughts and feelings using the written as opposed to the spoken word. This can be attributed to the asynchronous nature of DI which allows the person to “say” something then review their thoughts before passing them on to the other person in the interaction (although spell-check does make for some interesting thoughts). A corollary to this is sometimes just easier to write something than speak something. • Telephonophobia – There is a population that is uncomfortable talking on the telephone. The reasons for this dynamic are varied but chat provides the option to get real-time help without doing something that makes the person uncomfortable. • DI alleviates situations where the person’s dialect, accent or physiological condition makes understanding the spoken word difficult. • The Multitasking Myth – The public’s attachment to tech devices has deluded them into thinking they have become expert multitaskers. It’s not uncommon to see someone watching TV while working on their laptop, texting a friend, following a Twitter feed about the show and listening to their fave music mix. The reality is they are not multitasking. They are effectively “taskswitching” – though probably doing it poorly. Chat enables the individual to continue doing what they are doing while receiving assistance – even while at school or work. • In some cases people feel that they receive better assistance in a chat session than they would on the phone. The dynamic working here is – “These guys are smart enough to have chat so they are probably a good resource for me!” • The DI allows some to feel they are in more control via the written word. This coupled with other dynamics listed above helps them feel they are in control of the conversation and can be more explicit in what they want to communicate facilitating a more productive exchange of ideas. • The ability to scroll back through the chat session to recall information that was mentioned previously without having to ask the other person to repeat what was said. Also helpful in those times when we say to ourselves, “Gee, What did I say when…?”
Q. Do you think having the support of the PostSecret community and its founder Frank Warren has made you more web-savvy? How about the influence of your other major supporters?
A. We at IMAlive are very appreciative of the support afforded us by PostSecret and the many others who have recognized the need to remove the stigma and taboo surrounding crisis, mental health and suicide. Granted I am perhaps more of a luddite having learned my skills in a world of rotary telephones and databases that lived in shoeboxes full of hundreds of 3×5 cards. However, as a presenter at the 1997 Alliance of Information and Referral Systems National Conference, I did present a well attended workshop titled “Everybody’s Gone Surfin’ ” which addressed providing help through the internet. At that time the internet was a “Golly gee whiz!” thing. Dial-up connections and “You got mail” were the reigning technologies. How times have changed? I think, if nothing else, Frank helped the founders of IMAlive have the foresight and power of conviction to be the first virtual crisis intervention network. It is that foresight and conviction that has nurtured IMAlive into a service with approximately 200 volunteers on 5 continents. IMAlive’s 10-hour online video, Helping Empathically As Responders Training (HEART), coupled with hours of individualized observation sessions of potential volunteers ensures a consistency of service based on accepted crisis intervention standards that is reinforced and supported by our global network of volunteer supervisors. For this – “Thank you all!”
Q. Why did you make the decision to begin offering services globally?
A. While it may be considered laudable the decision to offer services globally was not made by the principles of IMAlive. That decision was made by the platform we use for our chats which does not have the capability to differentiate the location of incoming chats and filter out those coming from other places. With that in mind a decision was made to accept all incoming chats regardless of country of origin. It just seemed that turning someone away because of location would violate the basic mission of IMAlive.
Q. How are you able to overcome obstacles that some other services talk about: regional funding and professional liability within borders?
A. To answer the first part of this question I will simply say that in today’s fiscal environment all non-profits are faced with a daily battle to secure funds in an effort to maintain viability and sustainability. By regional funding I will assume you are referring to government funding. At present IMAlive receives no funding from any government and relies on private donations and the support of our organizational benefactors. As for professional liability – My total lack of knowledge of things legal means I will not be able to provide an adequate answer beyond my understanding from 30+ years of experience in the field that tells me Good Samaritan laws offer legal protection to those who give reasonable assistance to those who are in need or at risk.
Q. Do you offer translations, service in any language other than English?
A. IMAlive does not offer translation of languages other than English. Having said that it is interesting that people whose language is not English have been able to reach out to us and receive help using the various translation apps available on the internet.
Q. Have you adapted your volunteer training to make it more culturally sensitive?
A. At the risk of sounding culturally insensitive about cultural sensitivity I will reply in this manner:
As the developer of HEART this is an issue I have given much thought to over the years. When I consider the topic I find myself going back to the core of HEART. One of HEART’s core tenets maintains the Responder and the person experiencing crisis are equals. This tenet discounts the concept of the omnipotent Responder and empowers the individual who may be feeling powerless as the result of their crisis permitting the Responder and the person to collaborate regarding a solution best suited to the needs of the individual
The tenet of equality is closely coupled to two of HEART’s core fundamentals which are Acceptance and Respect. Acceptance is the “non-judgmental” piece of Crisis Intervention. Acceptance maintains that regardless of what we think or feel about a person we will not judge them, their situation, their actions, or their ability. Basically people, situations, actions, and abilities are things to be acknowledged, not judged.
Once we accept the need to be accepting and non-judgmental we can then embrace the concept of Respect. This means Responders will respect each person’s unique individuality and ability even in those times when a person’s ability may not be immediately evident to the Responder or the person in crisis. Basically the Responder will respect the individual enough to accept that they can learn new skills or adapt to resolve the crisis at hand.
Does this mean we teach our Responders to ignore cultural differences? Not at all. Ignoring the cultural differences that exist all around us represents a judgment. Some of them have a positive impact on individuals. Others are potentially, if not inherently, negative or dangerous. The strength of HEART lies in the fact the cultural differences would be acknowledged and the person would be engaged in a discussion that would address their own inherent strengths and abilities to empower them to effect personal change which will help them to survive, thrive and regain control of their situation.
So does this mean IMAlive ignores the existence of cultural insensitivity? No. In fact, our selection process and training of new Responders has a structure to screen for those views people may have which would impact their effectiveness as Responders. Of course this begs the question, “Why not train cultural sensitivity?” Generally the issues we would address with sensitivity training are fairly well ingrained in the individual embracing certain beliefs and mores – and that is okay as we would not judge the person based on thier belief system. However, Crisis Intervention work can be stressful enough without adding the stressor of “Abandon your core beliefs!” So rather than create additional stress for the individual we offer them volunteer options that may be more suited to them and therefore more satisfying for them.
Q. For crisis services there’s something known as “Active Rescue,” which means if someone needs emergency medical care, police will be dispatched to the person and they’ll be taken to a hospital. Does IMAlive practice Active Rescue, and if so, how do you manage it in countries where emergency services may not be available?
A. The simple, and accepted answer is, “Where immediate risk of harm or death to the person or others is exists and where it is possible to ascertain the location of the person IMAlive will do all it can to intervene actively.” The appropriate answer in more involved. To appropriately address the question we need to talk about several issues.
First we need to understand there is a distinction between “Suicide Prevention” and “Suicide Intervention”. If we think of a persons “journey”, a continuum, from no thoughts of suicide – to a precipitating event that evokes thoughts of suicide – to a point where the thoughts placing the person at risk are addressed and suicide risk is ameliorated OR the person acts on their thoughts.
Suicide Prevention is a concept that applies to both ends of the continuum of suicide risk. Ideally Suicide Prevention is a combination of efforts by government, helping organizations as well as mental health and related professionals to reduce the incidence of suicide attempts and death. These efforts include, but are not limited to: • Restricting or controlling access to lethal means (weapons and drugs) • Reduction of conditions that constitute risk factors for suicide (poverty, bullying, abuse) • Community awareness of the indicators a person maybe at risk and a corresponding care network those at risk can be readily referred to • Programs to lessen the stigma and taboo surrounding mental health and suicide • Accessible treatment for those experiencing depression and its psycho-social symptoms • Responsible media reporting regarding suicide and deaths from suicide • Providing social supports to address issues that lead to suicide risk (education, living wages, abuse prevention initiatives)
In short suicide prevention is not a top down solution (government, clinical professionals, society) but a combination of top down and bottom up initiatives. Think of it this way – Government and the mental health community can develop the best programs to help those at risk but unless we, the people that comprise society, take an active role in identifying those at risk all the efforts and money spent are for naught. This is the one side of Suicide Prevention.
This brings us to the other side of the suicide continuum – Suicide Prevention involving Active Intervention. The news tabloids and Hollywood have created an image that thoughts of suicide are unstoppable and portray the graphic image of a person who has a reflective moment before they leap to their deaths or the camera fades to black and we hear the fatal gunshot. This widely held, though erroneous, view rejects the reality that the person at risk wants to live and the majority of the time will do so. Estimates indicate that 3% – 5% of a population has thoughts of suicide at any given time. Yet the number of deaths from suicide, though tragic, is incredibly small if you accept the prevalence of suicidal thoughts. This tells us the vast majority of persons at risk are able to somehow shift from the danger of suicide to relative safety. Part of this dynamic is IMAlive and the many, many crisis intervention/suicide intervention services available to those at risk globally.
However there are those rare times when an individual has traversed the continuum of suicide and they are in immediate risk of harm or death to themselves or others. What may have been an opportunity for intervention has now become an emergency and IMAlive will attempt to take whatever steps are necessary and possible to protect and preserve life. Yes, there is “Caller ID” and that was helpful in providing Active Rescue until the advent of mobile devices and internet intervention services as identifying information is more device dependent than location dependent – despite what Hollywood would have us believe. What needs to be mentioned here is that the only resource generally available to those, like IMAlive Responders, looking to provide Active Rescue is their training and their supervisory support staff – the majority of the time that teamwork results in a person in need of Active Rescue achieving safety.
Thanks for the wealth of information!

HOW TO USE FACEBOOK MESSENGER’S SECRET ANDROID
New Post has been published on https://universeinform.com/2017/03/26/how-to-use-facebook-messengers-secret-android/
HOW TO USE FACEBOOK MESSENGER’S SECRET ANDROID
In 2016, Fb rolled out a privateness feature for the Messenger app referred to as “Mystery Conversations,” that are cease-to-cease encrypted conversations. a stop-to-quit encryption method that the message can be read handiest on the recipient’s device and can’t be deciphered by way of a third celebration. As you can or may not recognize, Facebook Messenger encrypts your regular chats until they reach Fb’s servers, so if required by means of regulation, Facebook ought to hand over your messages.
Facebook login
Extra: Even the FBI can’t defeat appropriate encryption – here’s why it works However, you may need to take care of a pair of things before you can begin an encrypted communication in Fb Messenger. First, you need to enable the function, and, second, you need to begin the communique as Secret. How are Mystery the conversations? Facebook is the usage of a protocol developed by way of Open Whisper Systems, which is the identical protocol used for apps like Sign.
Login to MSN messenger
There may be one quandary that we will show you on this walkthrough, and that is the ‘one tool handiest’ dilemma. When you have multiple devices, say an iPhone and an iPad, whilst you enable Mystery conversations on one device, it’ll be disabled on the alternative.
the use of Secret conversations in iOS
When using Messenger in iOS, you have to start Mystery conversations separately from everyday conversations. Permits take a look at how to show the function on, begin conversations, and delete your Secret conversations. How to enable Mystery conversations
Keep in mind that you can best access Secret conversations on one tool at a time, so if you start the use of any other tool and you need to use Secret conversations, then you may need to repeat this step on every occasion you switch devices.
The Bewildering Facebook Experience
One’s touch organization on Fb starts of evolved with a modest circle of the circle of relatives and buddies however after several years it grows into a full-size and diverse organization of people with a lot of whom one has very little in common. In the writer’s case, although English maintains to dominate, the polyglot community posts additionally in Arabic, Vietnamese, Tagalog and smatterings of African languages. And even as the initial group discussed familiar troubles and expressed perspectives with which one become normally in sympathy, the larger eclectic institution that evolves over the years promotes unusual and every so often offensive opinions, regularly expressed in imperfect or unsavory language. One wonders how a group that is precise as friends can mutate into such a sprawling and largely alien community.
One’s core Fb community constantly had some unique pursuits in addition to the circle of relatives subjects.
Those covered books and farming, motorcycles, model making and cutting-edge affairs in Ghana. To this have been quickly introduced homes in Spain, Germany and later France, with a robust seasoned-Eu Union bias. As the circle of contacts grew, a primary center started to appear from seasoned-Democratic Celebration enterprises inside the United states of America with surprisingly partisan posts hastily increasing in variety Because the presidential election approached.
How US politics came into the ambit of a set of British citizens is tough to explain however the furor over Britain’s referendum on Eu club couldn’t be prevented. whilst the family middle is strongly Eu, its Fb revel in is ruled by using 3 excessive proper-wing establishments who are pro-Brexit and vehemently against Muslim immigration. One organization is suffering to restore a crusading military order dissolved in 1312, after accusations of abuses and forget, and any other expresses pride in reporting every scrap of information that portrays Moslems in a horrific light. One wonders if one is seeing a form of pseudo-Christian revival.
Equally unusual, but a long way less sinister, is a female posting garish infantile daubs, claiming the inventive advantage, whilst much less controversial are snapshots posted by using a gentleman with passions for old traditional cars and younger glamorous ladies. The posts in Vietnamese have generally sponsored advertisements, even as the ones in Tagalog seem biased in the guide of the new president and his extrajudicial slaughter of drug traders and abusers. Ghanaians have these days been commenting on their own presidential election, now peacefully concluded, with all posts in English however with some interjections in Twi.
If the Fb enjoy is ordinary and unexpected it does have a message to impart. The remarkable human own family is now related greater at once than ever before and there are just a few hyperlinks among the ones we understand, and those who they recognize, and so forth to the ends of the Earth. It additionally brings a warning approximately the dangers of the unfold of intense religious and affairs of state, at the identical time as supplying a forum in which These might, possibly, ultimately be reconciled.
John Powell is the writer of numerous books, the latest being: Saint George, Rusty Knight, and Monster Tamer is a sequence of 9 self-contained ancient brief stories which introduces George, a hapless knight who has an uncommon talent for monster taming, and which, with wit and exquisite aplomb takes the young reader on an adventurous journey through some massive moments in history.

The Battle Of The Operating Systems, Android Vs iOS:
Android is Google’s powered software whereas iOS is Apple’s powered software. IOS software program can simplest be in Apple devices while Android is being utilized in numerous devices by way of special corporations like Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, and so forth. IOS software program is said to be greater person-pleasant in comparison to Android because of its unique designs and uniform factors.
Both running structures bring merchandise to existence. Android turned into created by Google, and iOS became developed by using Apple. Whilst you’re in an aggressive market, you need to be different, but which is first-class for you? To find out, remember those 3 vital classes.

Android beats iOS in terms of customization.
Usability
For iOS users, being restrained means, it is tough to mess up. Android’s freedom comes with complexity. IOS comes uniform throughout all in their products. I’m able to feel assured giving my seventy one-yr-antique grandmothers an iPad, and he or she might in all likelihood no longer struggle with it. Android works nicely for folks who are a touch more tech savvy, and for individuals who want something a bit more unique. If you need a user-friendly interface, then Apple can be the proper desire.
Safety
Any other essential finding out component is protection. Because iOS is uniform throughout all products, this indicates it is lots easier to update the devices and connect Security patches. Android is used throughout many exceptional products and companies, meaning that Protection patches are slower and regularly require in addition patching and adjusting, leaving the person inclined.
So that is higher? Whilst Android can boast that they’re excellent at customizability and compatibility, iOS can declare better user interface and Protection. recall your wishes to determine which sort of product pleasant suits your needs and your way of life.

The rise of the cashless city: ‘There is this real danger of exclusion’
Cities from Sweden to India are pushing for a totally cash-free society. But as more shops and transport networks insist on electronic payments, where does this leave the smallest traders and poorest inhabitants?
Scrolling through my online bank statements at Christmas, I was surprised to find I had not removed cash from an ATM for well over four months. Thanks to the ubiquity of electronic payment systems, it has become increasingly easy to glide around London to a chorus of approving bleeps.
As more shops and transport networks adapt to contactless card and touch-and-go mobile technology, many major cities around the world are in the process of relegating cash to second-class status. Some London shops and cafes are now, like the capitals buses, simply refusing to handle notes or coins.
Could we see a whole city go cash-free? From Seoul to Bergamo, cities big and small are at the forefront of a global drive to go digital. Many of us are happy to tap cards or phones to hop on a bus, buy a coffee or pay for groceries, but it raises the prospect of a time we no longer carry any cash at all.
No spare change for the busker at the station, the person sleeping rough in need of a hot drink, the market trader, the donation box. Although even on-street charity fundraisers are now broaching the world of contactless payments, what might the rise of the cashless city mean for street vendors, small merchants and the poorest inhabitants?
Some experts now fear a two-tier urban realm in which those on the lowest incomes become disconnected from mainstream commercial life by their dependence on traditional forms of currency.
The beauty of cash is that its a direct and simple transaction between all kinds of different people, no matter how rich or poor, explains financial writer Dominic Frisby. If you begin to insist on cashlessness, it does put pressure on you to be banked and signed up to financial system, and many of the poorest are likely to remain outside of that system. So there is this real danger of exclusion.
Ajay Banga, Mastercards CEO, has spoken about the growing global risk of creating islands, where the unbanked transact [only] with each other.
In India, the question of how the poorest might connect with the digitised world of the middle-class consumer is now of central importance. In November, the prime minister Narendra Modi announced the removal of 500 and 1000 rupee notes from circulation. Part of a wider attempt to jolt the nation into joining the cashless revolution, Modis government believes restricting currency and pushing the take-up of electronic payment will help tackle corruption and regulate Indias untaxed, black economy.

Saurabh Shukla, the Delhi-based editor in chief at NewsMobile Asia, says he has seen many small mom and pop store owners introduce card readers and learn how to use Paytm, a mobile payment platform, over the past two months.
They realise a big change is here and they are trying to adjust to electronic payment, he explains. But they still want to convert back to cash at the end of the working day or the working week. It will be a gradual adjustment. We might not be able to create a completely cashless India, but we can aim to create a low cash economy.
Modi is encouraging state government to create smart cities by connecting their public services with the latest online technology. Officials are aiming to make the Chandigarh famously designed by modernist architect Le Corbusier Indias first cashless city by insisting all bills are paid electronically at government offices. And the government of Goa is attempting to turn its capital Panjim cash-free by offering discounts in digitally bought services like train tickets, and by setting up classrooms to teach small traders e-payment technology.
Yet huge queues remain outside banks as many Indians continue to demand cash. Some of the poorest street vendors cannot afford card readers, and have struggled to operate Paytm payment transfers on their mobile phones.
Aires Rodrigues, a human rights lawyer in Goa, says traders in Panjim are suffering. Rickshaw drivers and fish market sellers have been left with no way of accepting payment from middle-class customers now inclined to do everything digitally. Its senseless to try to make everyone go cashless, says Rodrigues. The government seems to have lost sight of the plight of the common man.
If Indias urbanites are being forced to undergo digital shock therapy, city dwellers in much of Europe have been moving steadily away from cash. Consumers like convenience. Governments like the idea of tax transparency. And retailers like cutting down on the costs of cash handling.

According to a recent report by Fung Global Retail & Technology, nine of the top 15 most digital-ready countries are in Europe. It predicts Sweden could become the worlds first completely cashless society. Niklas Arvidsson at Stockholms KTH Royal Institute of Technology thinks it could happen by 2030.
Yet even Sweden has seen an enthusiasm gap emerge, mostly along demographic lines. Older people in the rural north, tending to be the least tech-savvy, resent the economic power of Stockholm and Gothenburg, now almost entirely cash-free urban zones. The National Pensioners Organisation is a key player in the Cash Uprising coalition now campaigning to make sure older Swedes can still deposit and remove cash from banks.
Wealth, however, remains the key factor in determining who might be entirely left behind by the evolving digital economy. Some of the poorest people in Europes richest cities have found themselves pushed aside.
In Amsterdam, homeless people selling street magazine Z!, the Dutch equivalent of The Big Issue, now struggle to find customers still using cash. Z! trialled card payments by giving a dozen of the citys vendors iZettle readers back in 2013, but the method was deemed too cumbersome.
After a few weeks, our vendors said, Look, this is too complicated, says editor Hans van Dalfsen. It became too clunky and time-consuming for the vendor to juggle their magazines, the card reader and their own mobile phone connected to Bluetooth all that stuff was needed to carry out the transaction.
Van Dalfsen says he is now talking to a major telecoms company to try to find a simpler way for homeless vendors to accept payment using only their mobile phones, perhaps with help of unique QR code on their ID badge.

Like Scandinavia, we are close to being cashless in Amsterdam, he says. Im an optimist, but we really need bright people in the tech companies to come up with simple, convenient solutions that work for everyone. We cannot let people become cut off from the life of the city.
Like many of the worlds poorest people, much of Amsterdams homeless population remain without a bank account. So even if they own a mobile phone, most fall back to cash.
Kenya may offer a guiding light here, having found a way to allow unbanked citizens access into the cashless society using cheap mobiles. Launched in 2007, M-Pesa has become the worlds leading mobile money platform, allowing millions of users to transfer money to each other by sending text messages and store their funds digitally without opening a conventional bank account.
In Zimbabwe, last years cash liquidity crisis led to renewed distrust in the banks and helped mobile money platforms take off as an alternative way of doing business, first in the capital city Harare, then in rural areas. The countrys most popular text-based service EcoCash now has more than six million users.
There has been a huge explosion in cashless payments, down to the very poorest street traders using mobile money solutions, says Nigel Gambanga, a Harare-based technology analyst. Everyone has begun to realise, If I dont figure this out, I might not be in business tomorrow. People are adaptable.
Dave Birch, director of innovation at UK firm Consult Hyperion, thinks it would be foolish to insist on clinging on to cash on behalf of the poor. If you keep people trapped in a cash economy, you leave them to pay higher prices for everything, you leave them struggling to access credit, and more vulnerable to theft, he says.
Were going to replace cash with electronic platforms, Birch adds. I dont think poverty or being unbanked is necessarily a barrier, because everyone has a phone. Given the technology we have, we can develop new ways of moving digital cash around, even on the most basic of phones.
The challenge for banks, regulators, tech innovators and officials keen to push forward smart city initiatives, is to make sure evolving platforms are accessible and keep everyone interconnected.
If we cannot find a common payment ecosystem, we may find ourselves wandering through divided cities, separated by the sound of bleeps and the shuffling of cold, hard cash.
