I'm just saying, someone should put Tails (Sonic The Hedgehog) and Ryder (Paw Patrol) together in a lab.

You may throw Rocky (also Paw Patrol) in there too. That would be quite the sight. Someone needs to feed them bc they'll totally forget to eat so busy they'll be working together.

ok I haven’t watched too much of paw patrol yet, but I really doubt this opinion will change later in the series.

Ryder has to be the most 2-D, personality-less character in this whole show. And that’s impressive considering all the pups act almost the exact same, everyone else is dumbed down to make the Paw Patrol look smarter, and HE’S the MAIN CHARACTER. And I know it’s a show for toddlers that’s, like, specifically known for being repetitive, but cmon. The only time I can see a little bit of a personality shining through is in the movies. Seriously, I’ve never seen a white male MAIN CHARACTER be so flat. It’s honestly impressive.

that being said, I’ve been imagining him with more personality in my head, and in my head with my little headcanons, he’s so cool and interesting.

like there’s no way this dude is all “happy, hero, leader Ryder” all the time, at least not internally. I mean this guy probably has an IQ of 300. like actually. not just because everyone else is dumbed down. poor dude has to put up with the stupidity of others CONSTANTLY. he definitely gets ticked off at what others get themselves into and finding out what stupidity the Paw Patrol has been called for. and somehow he’s managed to have a large tank of patience where none of that anger slips through.

and he also uses this “happy, hero, leader Ryder” persona to dumb things down for people and always keep a sense of hope. Like a good example I feel is in “Pups and the Ghost Pirate” when Zuma asks what Ryder thinks about the party being spooky. Ryder replies in a very upbeat, normal voice while everyone else sounds scared out of their mind. It sounds like a very practiced voice, and tone-wise I would describe it as “heroic.” He says, “I think this is the most mysterious Halloween party I’ve ever been to!” And the wording also sounds like he’s just replying with something nice so that he doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings or ruin anyone’s mood. because he actually finds this incredibly silly and he's totally over the whole thing. he’s like using that adult voice where a kid shows their parents something they made and the parent just glances at it and offhandedly says, “very nice, dear.”

Plus, you know who he surrounds himself with? DOGS. NOT PEOPLE. DOGS. Leading me to believe he actually COULD NOT CARE LESS about other humans. “Dogs are the only people that understand me” type person. But he still goes out and saves the town because he does have the heart of a hero.

thinking about Ryder if his character was expounded upon, I think he’s actually cool! he’s like the “awesome” character of Paw Patrol. He can build tons of machines, he can figure out the solution to every problem, he’s not really scared of anything, he’s incredibly capable and strong. He’s like that one character in a show that has like super awesome and cool powers.

and there’s just a few headcanons I have of ryder. I will probably continue to think of more.

My little nephew visited us over thanksgiving and we watched the Paw Patrol movies with him and I just gotta say that I’m obsessed with the implication that every time you buy Paw Patrol merchandise (clothes, shoes, toys, backpacks, whatever) you are canonically helping to fund their operation. Like it’s so funny to me that Ryder specifically mentions that their base of operations is funded by officially licensed Paw Patrol merchandise. At the goodwill I work for we get Paw Patrol toys donated pretty often and when I’m putting it on the shelves now I’m like “ope, there’s another puppy-sized car funded for this weird city’s rescue operations led by a child and his army of dogs”

1. Monday- The Beginning

Headcanons time~

Like sometimes I write One-shot or something but those things take time so since I want to be on time the best things are ideas and headcanons.

So I think that Chase's previous owners were you know like those people that they save animals but so that people believe that they are good people and "heroes" etc. but in reality they don't care much about the animals and if they do something wrong they throw them away again.

So maybe they were those of those who leave dogs in the yard without good protection even if it rains or lightning. And maybe the reason why they abandoned him is because of some silly thing that puppies do, not knowing where they should go to the bathroom or if they are not walked they go to the bathroom inside, chewing shoes/furniture, nibbling on people while they play, destroy things, get the house dirty etc.

Like animals are not toys or trash that you simply throw away or abandon there when you get tired or bored of them. I don't think Chase was a bad puppy, he just had bad owners.

When I was 13-14 I had this backstory for Chase idk why I had that idea at that time.

Well the idea was that if I remember well Ryder adopted Chase's mom when she was pregnant with Chase. And when Chase was a little puppy, He was walking with his mom and Ryder when Chase collided with Humdinger and... I don't remember the rest but it was something about Chase's mom dying/being killed in front of him. I think it was before the Paw Patrol started.

I'm just a girl who hasn't had much Paw Patrol ideas lately. Sadly.

It's been some time since people have been stating that we "need" an askblog for Ryder in the fandom here. Since I started my pup trio askblog, others followed, but no one showed up to start a Ryder blog.

Well, that's in the past now! I set up a blog myself and found someone to share it with me and now it's 100% ready to go!
