H2O at Warped Tour 2001
Full gallery available on my website here.
I recently discovered I had two rolls of undeveloped 35mm film at my mother’s house, so I took them in the same day to be developed and scanned by Nice Film Club. It turns out one of these rolls were from Warped Tour 2001, which had other rolls previously scanned and published online.
The above gallery is from H2O’s performance that year at Randalls Island in New York, NY. Additional Warped Tour photo scans from the same year are linked below:
The Bouncing Souls
Rancid
Rollins Band
Pennywise, Kool Keith, and Flogging Molly

Hi Laurie! Very important ice cream questions are delievered right to your doorstep:
For your top 3 favourite characters at the moment: What is their favourite ice cream? Do they like to try new flavours or do they stick to the classics? Best occasion to eat it and best way to eat it? Coup, cone, fancy cone, out of the tub?
Kisses, love and spaghetti ice cream for you, byeeee 💖🍝
thank you for exposing my poor knowledge of ice cream flavours (i'm a simple girl, i like my soft serve vanilla & chocolate swirl). i have about 8 tabs open of lists of popular flavours, i'm putting in all the work and research because this is an important question! thank you for sending it back to me! i'm craving ice cream now! 💖🍦
divider credits: @/firefly-graphics (i've always wanted to use this cute ice cream truck divider, thank you for giving me the best opportunity to use it!)
RUSTY SABICH
cherry something. ben & jerry's cherry garcia, cherry cheesecake, just cherry related ice cream. or a very good quality vanilla bean ice cream, the one with tons of vanilla specks in it. he has his designated bowl in the cupboards, he never waits enough for the ice cream to chill a bit so it's always too hard and he always gets frustrated when he scrapes some off the top and it goes flying on his face. rusty is not known for his patience. i think barbara would appreciate pistachio or a good dark chocolate ice cream, so he steals some from hers but he never tells her. he mostly eats ice cream at home, sitting in the couch with his family or in the sun room on a rainy day that prevented him to go out for a swim.
i love how we both agree on the fact cherry ice cream is for cheaters (he probably genuinely enjoys maraschino cherries, there's truly something wrong with that man). yeah of course he's my top current fave character right now because i'm pathetic just like him. sigh.
ELWOOD DALTON
sorbet, specifically mango. i don't know what kind of fruits grow in the florida keys. if the university of florida says mango can grow in the keys, then mango can grow in the keys. i think coup is best with sorbet and i believe dalton would love to stick to the pure flavours of the fruit (similar to the dark cuban coffee), but he secretly likes to pick the tiny colourful plastic scoop that matches the funky shirt he is wearing.
i don't see dalton as much of a dessert guy anyway, he doesn't go out of his way to get some but he'll happily eat whatever dessert you buy or bake for him. i like to think that laura invited him to go out for ice cream the same way she offered him a ride and he said no the first time but then she teased him the next day about how yummy the ice cream was and then he was like :) okay :) and she invited him again and he accepted (this time it was only the two of them) and he had mango sorbet, he didn't really care what he was getting anyway. laura probably told him it was good, fresh local fruit and everything, and it became his favourite after the first bite. mostly because she seemed happy he liked her suggestion. he's very nice and charming with the workers so he always gets an upscale, whether it be an extra scoop or he gets offered the large size even if he paid for the small.
TOMMY CAHILL
cookie dough or cookies and cream. he's definitely the most likely out of this list to try new flavours, he just wants to try them all at least once in his life. these two are his favourite. if he's out and about, stopped at an ice cream truck or a proper creamery, he gets the normal sugar cone (with extra napkins, he always makes a mess). he can go for a dipped cone as well if he's feeling fancy. if he's eating at home, he definitely stirs his ice cream until it turns into a milkshake.
most of his ice cream related memories involve his nieces, isabelle and maggie. he takes them out for a swim at the pool or out at the park where he pushes their swings extra high (in the safest way possible) or even goes down the slide with them and their reward is an all you can eat ice cream buffet aka one cup they can fill with whatever toppings they want. grace and sam absolutely hate him for it, he brings back two hyper kiddos on a sugar high but tommy is just happy to have fulfilled his uncle duties. he made it into some kind of game as to who can make the craziest concoction. the kids would go for gummy bears with strawberry ice cream and sprinkles convinced that they won the contest, but then tommy would show up with a mountain of crushed oreos, mini m&ms, choco chips, drizzled with all the sauces they had and he would easily win. he'd get sick afterwards (probably because the girls ended up sharing his ice cream and he had to eat theirs instead) but it would be their favourite way to celebrate the end of summertime before school starts again.
DANNY SHARP (bonus teehee)
salted caramel. waffle cone. topped with a waffle cookie on top. danny strikes me as a caramel syrup person for some reason, so he probably asks for extra drizzle of it on top when he needs an even bigger pick me up. he has to eat it in secret, go to the creamery alone, so he doesn't hear castro begging to tag along (he will go out for ice cream with castro every once in a while and he will pay for his three scoops sugar extravaganza and he will complain about it although he secretly likes to make his employee/friend/flamingo zookeeper happy).
my first thought was neapolitan because he wouldn't need to choose so he could have a bit of all flavours (less anxiety inducing). that was probably his favourite as a kid, he could share with will and let his brother have his fave flavour. my second thought was distinguished ice cream to enjoy while wearing a cashmere sweater so that's why i switched my answer.

Aftermath of the Darkest Lord
(wanted to explain the aftermath of the gang getting access to magic powers from a gaurdian diety that lives in an amulet)
Tari is essentially part cat now, despite her not having cat ears or a a tail, she very much acts like one sometimes, laying in sun spots purrs unconcsciously etc. no one knows how tf this happened but it did and now they have to deal with it
she also has a taste for sushi now (no she's not gonna eat boopkins thats her friend)
Meggy can use a sword pretty well now after some advice from Melony, she tries to slot it into her training time as not to get rusty with it
Melony as i said, is a vampire now well for fruits at least, a fruit vampire if you will
she feeds off the juices from other fruits and understandably this scares her to no end, though her friends don't judge her for it they understand and they try they're best to help her in any way they can
since she's essentially a god normal vampire weaknesses such as crosses, sunlight, holy water and the normal stuff don't work on her, she's a god why would they?
Kaizo's demon powers somehow got a power up from gaining imp powers
whether this is a good or bad thing remains to be seen
the amount of people he's stabbed with his new trident though is of concern however
Bob is abusing his new thieving skills regardless of the consequences
Boopkins is now the caretaker of plants, the plant lord if you will
Chris is trying not to think about the existenal implications of being an elf so HARD
Swag helps by using Chris as ammo, so Chris is too angry yelling at Swag to think about how he's going to outlive a majority of his friends
Mario can now cook like gordan ramsey, he just does it in a unconventional way but hey if it works it works
now if only he didn't make everything so damn spicy
everyone in this house loves Pistachio the Horse
we stand for Pistachio the Horse
Pistachio has stolen the title of Mario's best friend, smg4 and meggy may be jealous of this but whos to say
luigi can and will send you to the shadow realm if given a chance to
smg3 has accepted his role is a pretty princess much to eveyone exhaustion
he can at least dance good now
Karen has gained access to chemical warfare

Warm, syrupy shroud that covers every corner of the skin, open-air sauna, sirocco roads, suffocating, hallucinated and sultry stuns, animals hidden under every shadow, hot air dancing on the boiling asphalt, creating Saharan mirages in mid-air. The sun is a fiery hammer, the obsessive song of the cicadas its pitiless blows. Sicilian summer: air of fire, desert in the fields and streets, madness in the head. Sky like the vault of an oven, withered thistles, rusty ferns, yellow grass like envy, dark green lemons, impassive sea-green olive trees. until I don't react out of desperation: coffee granita with mountain of cream, saving lemon granita, very sweet almond granita to the beloved pistachio with blackberries, to the sublime mulberry with strawberries, peach, chocolate, but not mint, vulgar, continental taste. Or cream ice cream, hazelnut, lemon, trifle, chocolate, cream, licorice, holy and due taste of cassata, almond, strawberry, peach, fiordilatte, royal stracciatella, sensual mango, but not mint, banal, continental. Maybe seltzer, lemon and salt, or tonic water and lemon granita, hot coffee with coffee granita, lascivious cream! Gelo with lemon, melon, ice cold wine, grillo, inzolia, malvasia in a glass misted by the heat, and fuck prosecco and daiquiri, fuck the summer, the heat, the heat, a frozen Messina beer is enough for me an infinite shoreline, and all the rest, the world, the universe, is just a madman's dream, a ridiculous fairy tale, written on a roll of toilet paper

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture [Chapter 6]
Author's note: I think it's obvious since Baldur's Gate 3 in general isn’t suited for younger audience but just to be sure, please be at least 18 before reading it. This fanfic series may contain lots of sensitive topics (including blood, violence, gore, death, smut and so on) so it isn’t recomended for readers who can feel hurt by these things. But if you are still here and want to enjoy some dark themes, please take a seat ^^
Chapter 6
◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆◈◆
Your discussion about the medallion with the rest of your companions didn’t do much for you – apparently, nobody had an idea what could it be doing neither what to do with it. Astarion proposed selling it; Shadowheart told you to keep it until you learn if it was useful; and Gale for an unknown reason wanted to take it for himself, which got him a huge opposition from the rest.
In the end, you are fed up by this endless discourse and decide to do what you should – meaning, leaving this place full of rusty druids and non-ending prayers repeating over and over. As much as the ritual may seem innocent at first glance, after everything you have learned, you can’t look at it anymore. The olive- and pistachio-green-colored auras coming from the statue remind you of the rotten green and cold shade of mint now, while the gathered ones – of a cult.
But before you manage to get to the stone stairs, a sound reaches your ears. Something akin to… a melody?
“Can you hear that?” You prick up your tears to try and guess what is the meaning of the song but to no avail. The sound is very silent; and yet, you can tell where does it come from.
You turn to right, not paying attention to your companions. If they are to object because it should be none of your business, they may as well go and wait for you at Zevlor’s, right?
Besides, it is not like you asked to be put as their leader. It was them that chose you and have been following you ever since like obedient ducklings. Thus if they intend to complain about your decisions, they may just wait at the camp or in the other landmark. Marauders are not needed, they will only slow you down.
You walk down the slope and find yourself at the beach. On the shore, you see a lonely boy – must be a son to some of those tieflings. His hair is dense, as for his clothes, they look neat but poor.
The rest can be found here (ao3)

They're upset---suspicious even, perhaps, with how they squint a little at their usual afternoon cup of tea and the gold filigree border on the saucer and the little flower painted rim. Suspicious, yes: they bring the cup close to their reflection and smell that rusty, stagnant water scent again for just a moment before it goes away, and their nose wrinkles and their teeth bite the edges of their tongue. They see their own worn, tired expression in the red-steeped water. They've been looking more sickly than usual lately.
"... What blend did you say this one was again?"
@lunarscaled
After he sets down the cup, Raum does not watch Lyric to see if they drink the tea. Instead, he is busy preparing another little plate. A knife glides smoothly in his hand, creating a slice of cake. It’s pristinely rectangular, layered with watermelon and jelly and light cream in stripes; pink, white, beige. Atop, a layer of deep red strawberry, crushed pistachio, tiny fragments of dried rose petals. Very pretty, light in flavour, certain to compliment the tea.
He sets down the cake plate next to Lyric’s cup and saucer with a small fork, his hand present on the back of their chair.
“Ah.” Raum circles around to sit across from Lyric at the table. There is a note of a smile in his voice, perhaps a genuine sort of pleasure at preparing something with finery, even if it was laced with the poison that was slowly eating away at their spirit.
“This is Tieguanyin. The iron goddess. It’s an oolong tea — this one in particular is harvested in spring. It's roasted, so it has a strong flavour, but I’m sure you’ll like it.”
Raum notes the hesitation in Lyric’s eyes, the fatigue in their shoulders while they stare into the liquid, and he sighs. Their resistance to his influence is making them tired, almost frail — he can sense it. How their vitality seems strangled by invisible vines.
“You need to keep your strength up if you want this to continue, Lyric.” He reaches over and uses the fork to spear some of the cake. “I’m fulfilling my end of our arrangement. But for this to work properly, you need to be willing to accept my help.” He lifts the fork and offers it to Lyric directly. Deceptively, it smells sweeter than it looks.
“I understand you have doubts. But this will start to feel better once you stop struggling against it.”

Interloper
I remember that day well. My first delivery was at an old man's house. He was taking a nap, alone, in his library, hugging a big leather bound tome. I slowly woke him up, called his name and we went for a walk.
After a couple more takeaways, I sat down at a cafeteria for some ice cream.
- "Don't worry, I'll order one for you." Said the middle-aged man to his wife.
She didn't take any seat, she was looking rather annoyed. Shortly after, the man emerged from the ice cream parlour.
- "Pistachio, whisky cream and ... what was your favourite flavour?"
- "You well know I'm allergic to pistachios, change it to strawberry." she said, raising her voice a bit.
The fair haired man entered the shop again, now she really was annoyed. Not even a minute has passed when the man knocked from inside the place's window.
- "Do you know where I put my credit card again?" asked with a mix of meekness and muffleness from the glass panel.
The red haired woman sighed in frustration, passed the shop's threshold, extracted the man's credit card from his pocket and said: "let me do it".
After a lovely cool dessert, I took another nicotine gum (withdrawal is hell I tell you) and paid a visit to a brother and sister. The sun was up high, vaporising everything it touched. They were buried alive under rubble, a missile hit their apartment. He was hugging his little sister when I came. A really sad picture, I confess, but the job must be done. I held him by the shoulder, called his name and we left that horrible dark place. I shook his clothes to remove the little debris he had on his clothes and we went for a walk.
They said "Juan Gonzales" (a cover name), you see, I know everyone by their name, their true name, so I know where to find them. The room of the hospital was white, clean in appearance, he was on the hospital bed, being watched by his friend, who was holding his hand. I did not waste time, a few minutes later I was out, consuming my next nicotine gum.
The next call was in an apartment, a guy was punching the walls in rage, she was lying in the middle of the living room, covered from head to toe in blood and bruises. I hate to see them in bad condition, moreover, I can't finish a delivery successfully if they look so rough. So I did the humane thing of cleaning her wounds and wash her carefully in the copper bathtub, she then woke up, she looked herself, looked at me and smiled, thanked me, told me she was an engineer, she just won an internship at NASA, I congratulate her, said her name and we went for a walk.
I was having some pepperoni pizza for lunch when they said "Juan Gonzales", I remember thinking: "Again?! Did I miss that one?". I entered the hospital's lobby, 10th floor, white impeccable room, the two alone being engulfed by the yellow emanations of the noon's light. The bedridden’s friend was immobile as a marble statue, I swear, he was not blinking the whole time! I said Juan Gonzales' true name, and a few minutes later I was masticating another nicotine gum on a bench at the park.
The next take-away was a courtesy call from a rockstar, he was trying to reach me, after he broke up with a gorgeous gal. He shut himself in the damp bedroom and produced a rusty, filthy, syringe from his backpack, laid down on the bed and he inject himself with some white substance, an hour later I was holding his long greasy hair, helping him puke into the toilet, I said his name and we went for a walk.
I was drinking my evening black coffee with some toast when they said "Juan Gonzales", I exploded in anger, complained and argued whether that was some kind of prank or miracle, they replied that there are miracles no more.
Flustered, I entered the old hospital, took the lift to the 10th floor, now the orange lights were the only warm thing in the room, Juan Gonzales was looking at the night sky while the statue-for-a-friend was still holding his hand. Then it struck me, the fact was I couldn't recall that living statue's name, in fact, I do not recall seeing his face before!. I need to tell you this, because I'm good with names and faces, I can exactly pinpoint down the flavour of ice cream, the middle-aged couple where having that morning, but, this man was a fuzzy memory, a dream you usually fight to stay with you after you wake up. So I was there, next to the IV drop, about to say the bed ridden young man's real name, when they shouted at me that the contractor had cancelled the order due to some unforeseen factors, suffice to say it was an uncommon event.
After such a change of plans, the healthy one got up and walked up to the door. I was still puzzled by his nature, so I tried to follow him, but just before leaving the patient's room, he turned to me and I swear we made eye contact for a second! my heart almost stopped, he didn't say a thing, I was struck by a lighting bolt, he just scouted the room and then he entered the empty corridor. Did he see me? Did I imagine it? I shall never know, for I had doubts, it might well have passed a second or a minute, I left the room and found nothing in the corridor! the young fuzzy man was nowhere I mean NOWHERE to be found in the entire hospital!
The last thing I remember is that it was a quiet night, other times, I would have complained to the air about lacking any take-aways. Now, I was grateful, I needed to take some fresh air on a building roof overlooking the pretty lights of the urban landscape. I touched my right pocket, there was an old dry stick left, I remembered her lips under the slimming moon at sea, I remember her too well: "You shouldn’t smoke, it’ll kill you." she said, taking the same cancer stick from my mouth, robbing me a kiss. I can still hear her sweet laugh when we went for a walk. I remember thinking "yes, it will kill me" while lighting the cigar.

June 2023
Getting a tiny singing bowl and Sister Chang Kong's book. I met her in person and talked to her. Then she signed the book for me! Such a rockstar.
Vegan coconut ice-cream.
The final presentations of all the families. And the band of a few Brothers and Sisters performing Thich Nhat Hanh's Little Star poem. The surprising rap part.
A good talk with an Argentinian woman from Plum Village at Bordeaux airport. Listening to inspiring podcasts.
Spending Saturday morning at the flea market. Talking to some of the vendors. Buying diamante facial stickers and a leather top for the Burn. Choosing from an entire box of books about Buddhism.
Oh, and my recent dad shirt finds: UV light mushrooms / pure silk abstract pattern.
A nostalgic evening with Sash. I rode the e-bike downtown, we had Mexican food at Cantina and watched Roter Himmel at Kinoptikum. Later, we biked to the train station together. We used to do this all the time when we both still lived in LA.
A gorgeous Sunday, roadtripping with Manu and his parents. Two firsts this summer: swimming in the lake and visiting an ice-cream parlour. Singing along to D.I.S.C.O in the car.
An afternoon with Becky, starting out at Gärtnerplatz. Pistachio ice-cream and Vietnamese lunch. Fantastic conversation, as always.
A language tandem session with Carolina. Interpreting a poem together. Kevin made spinach salad with feta and blueberries. Then we played an extension of Catan.
Preparing for the Burn with Frank. Getting water pistols, hippie pants at Indigo, going grocery shopping together.
Munich Micro Burn. I'm so grateful for this experience and it seems like I've found another community I wanna be part of. I'm really vibing with their principles, for example radical self-expression and immediacy. I met a Golden God (Ben), a Welfare Fairy (Chris), my personal Kundalini Supervisor (Davide) and someone who reminded me of Moss from The IT Crowd (Neill - I adore his beautiful energy, his accent and word choice, his creative style). I unexpectedly reunited with someone from my past (Benni) and adopted a human kitty. I was naked a lot, covered in glitter and body art. I shared my cherry lollipop and asked for more (kisses and Celia's cinnamon water) We built a coral reef and walked through the Kodama forest. I was fascinated by Sari and Nils' acro yoga performance. Reality felt like a computer game with lots of side quests and returning characters.
Ben wearing exactly the right colours. Golden yellow, forest green, rusty red. His lilac windbreaker with an 80s jazz pattern. His humour, manner of speech, intelligence. The feline gestures, letting me adopt him. Kissing him was an otherworldly feeling, I can hardly put it in words. The Shooting Star Encounter, as my therapist put it.
Fine dining, surprising conversation topics and the first (and probably last) spaghetti ice-cream of the season with Lena and Sash in Freising.
A cute e-mail from Stephen with some of his vegan baking recipes from Green Tara café.
On the flight from Munich to Paris, I sat next to a physicist who was on his way to Peru as well. He was travelling with colleagues, they were about to go on a road trip through the Andes to perform some tests on lake water. He told me about his Arctic expedition, polar bear scares, snorkelling with sperm whales. I love encounters with adventurers. And I firmly believe that I'll keep attracting interesting people who are actually meant for me as long as I keep radiating this positive energy. Same goes for opportunities, life events. I've been so happy and at ease lately!
The way the Djinn's fingers were dusted in gold in the movie Three Thousand Years of Longing.
Arriving in Cusco. Seeing the glittering lights in the valley. The stars. Friendly people everywhere. Music, celebrations for the Winter Solstice. They put a baby llama into my arms and I couldn't say no. So fluffy. I'm in love with these animals, especially the soft alpacas!
Waking up to THAT view after a night of fun dreams. Cozy. (But the following day I had a dream about all my teeth falling out and, again, that my mum isn't really dead.) A fried egg on toast. Fresh orange juice. Sunshine over the valley and strange flute covers of pop songs in my ear. Crawling back to bed after an icy shower.
People reaching out to me after my post about the last six months.
Talking to Matthias. It feels like we'd known each other forever. I'd love to meet him soon!
My encounter with Edward, an artist who had some of his stone sculptures on display at Museo Inka. I bought two of his quartz pyramids and we talked for at least half an hour (in Spanish I might add, I'm so proud of myself). He told me so much about the local customs and beliefs, for example the Cosmovisión Andina and the significance of the puma, serpent and condor in their culture. And of course we talked about Cusco's rainbow flag.
Sending long distance hugs and good vibes to a crying Sonja (Frank had just told her that her lover has a girlfriend). The llama photo might have helped as well - in any case I got positive feedback.
A big colibri right outside my window. Shaggy llamas crossing my path. Someone blasting Footloose from his studio.
An evening at Cusco Planetarium. I took an Uber up the hill and arrived in the middle of nowhere. A good spot to get murdered... But I followed the path anyway and ran into one of the stargazers. He told me that you need a reservation to enter the observatory BUT there was a group in there right now and I could join them so he ushered me in. There was a short talk about the history of Peruvian culture and astronomy, a display of the northern and southern hemispheres with their respective constellations in the dome (I learned that my mum's favourite star cluster, the Pleiades/Seven Sisters, are part of my birth constellation Taurus and that in South America Orion's belt is called Tres Marias) and then we went outside and marvelled at Mars, Venus, Omega Centauri and the so-called jewel box, a cluster of stars near the Southern Cross, through telescopes. I even got free stickers and a ride back downtown.
Creating a mood light by placing a water bottle on my headlamp.
The most magical morning: I woke up early and decided to take a taxi up to the Pisac archeological park. What I didn't expect: I was the first visitor of the day and had the place to myself for at least 20 minutes! The view was breathtaking. I saw a colibri (buena suerte!), some kind of deer and a bunch of alpacas. I felt light and free with minimal luggage, wearing my new hiking pants. Just sitting on a rock spur, drinking cool water, the sun in my face, not a soul in sight. Enjoying the stillness, imagining what the valley must have looked like a few hundred years ago. My affirmation of the day couldn't have been more spot-on: I'm on the right path. I met someone who showed me the holes in the rock face in front of us which used to be graves! The Incas actually mummified their bodies. I walked down all the way back to the town. I passed a beautiful bush with white blossoms that smelled like honey (and attracted a lot of bees). There was a red and blue bird with spread wings, elegantly gliding through the mountain air. Ancient ruins, purple flowers, crossing a little river. I enjoyed myself tremendously.
At the end of the trail, a vendor gifted my a little bisexual (pink and blue) alpaca pendant and I tried to attract two orange cats by meowing at them but as soon as they realised I was just a boring old human they lost interest and turned around. And then I had a private breakfast party at Kula Café: blue lemonade, coffee, fried egg on avocado toast and their Ocean Bowl. Train's Drops of Jupiter playing in the background (I love the lyrics and coincidentally Jupiter is in Taurus right now!). And I got a message from Dory after dreaming about her the night before. Which happens a lot lately - perhaps I've unlocked psychic powers?!
Attending my first Family Constellations session.
Little treasures: a Peruvian bucket bag. Quartz pyramids. A fluffy jacket and a green hoodie from By Illari. A serpentine obelisk, a tiny golden llama and a serpent.
Drawing (Gaia) oracle cards for myself at a café. And Ari's Osho Zen Tarot cards before and after the breathwork session. Spot-on as always.
Speaking of Arija. We arrived in Guatemala at pretty much the same time - and in Pisac as well. So I reached out (and she happened to read my message even though it'd landed in her spam folder) and visited her for another one of her amazing Shamanic Breathwork sessions. It ended up being a private one because nobody else showed up. I had a very physical experience - my solar plexus was so tense and tingly, my hands and neck were super tight and cramped. Align with your magic came up during one of the breath retentions. Beautiful.
I took a chance and followed an invitation to a stranger's goodbye party. The rapid-fire Spanish in the backyard was overwhelming very quickly so I ended up hanging out with Paul and his cat Qory in his room. The cat had been neutered that day and was still high on ketamine so we looked after him. I felt really lucky lying around in bed with a gorgeous man and a gorgeous cat. We talked a lot. About his experience in the jungle, healing his addiction, growing up in Lima with a bipolar mum, his marriage to a German woman, plant medicine, emotional intelligence and contagion... A special connection, hungry kisses.
All the feline love I've been receiving. I went to Urubamba to try out Somatic Experiencing for the first time and Carola had two beautiful orange cats. One of them was super playful and trusting. There was a tabby kitten with piercing eyes in the supermarket. And Qory is one of the cutest, softest and most vocal cats I've met in a long time. Honorable mention: all the (street) dogs who appreciate my pets and scratchies. / And really all the animals around here. The cows, the goats, alpakas. I even saw a big green parrot on a roof!
I joined Ari's breathwork class as SolSeed on Friday morning and went to other planes of existence. I had to massage my surgery scar a lot because it started hurting. Afterwards my energy had changed and people smiled at me on the street, said hello. My intention had been to be more open and break down the barriers around me. After the session, I drew the Past Lives card. AGAIN. I drew the card before my first session with Ari in October and again on Wednesday. Powerful message for that night's initiation to plant medicine.
More spooky coincidences: I was sitting in Kula Café, researching the meaning of the card (it's the Moon in other decks), then Beck's Blue Moon started playing and Ari herself walked in. Wow. Then I broke my sunglasses - a very literal translation of removing protective measures but I'll take it. Ari actually observed that something's changed about me. That I'm more open and present than when we met in Guatemala.
The remnants of my silver glitter nail polish look like star constellations.
Two long phone calls with Do after a long period of silence. Getting my hopes up that we can repair our friendship. She said I looked alive, spirited, radiant. "Full of life". Which is actually how I feel. (However, I can't really see it - looking into the mirror I see an old face with puffy cheeks and saggy skin. What does it take to make me see my own radiance?)
Petting a doggie at the cafe. Crispy cauliflower. A little abuelita sleeping on my shoulder in the colectivo.
Turning a bad day around. I felt SO grumpy. Bad energies, on edge... I couldn't even stand myself. When my date didn't show up and said he'd be an hour late I ditched him and got a really nice massage instead. Then I found a fantastic vegan restaurant right across the street from my hotel with incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. I've never had such a colourful veggie pizza before - it was like a party on my plate. And their playlist was amazing as well - could've been my own!
Really looking into Paul's eyes for the first time. Noticing that his irises are multicoloured (they are speckled in blue, grey green and brown!) and not the same on both sides. His chaotic energy after accidentally getting a little high on LSD. Leading him through the streets, helping him find the right stores. I'm smitten.
Hiking the Inca Trail with a lovely group. I'm really proud of myself for completing the trek even though it was super hard for me. The views were definitely worth it and so was challenging myself. It's beautiful to see that I can do hard things. I was so anxious before that day but it's another reminder to stay in the present moment to relieve your suffering. Side note: my muscles weren't even sore the next day! Maybe I'm fitter than I thought?
Befriending Bridget on the train back to Ollantaytambo. We talked about our passion for teen drama TV shows, woodworking and found out that we're both an enthusiastic Enneagram type 7. We ended up getting dinner at Vida Vegan together and upon saying our goodbyes I shared my first kiss with a trans woman. My life takes so many unexpected turns these days! We actually spent the following two days together in Cusco - it felt like we'd known each other forever!
Choosing a table by the window not knowing there'd be a kitty sleeping on the bench! The softest boi.
Spending three bucks on a Coachella glitter palette.
Lying down with two warm tamales from Doña Josefina's little street food stall. Yum. The soft consistency and steaminess make them so delicious.
I actually got an Akashic Records reading in Cusco. It was a little different than expected but interesting nevertheless.

Jay's 1-25-23 Dream
I worked in the military protecting a city. All my guns and stuff were rusty. I shot at a person trying to get in, but the glass I was trying to shoot through was bulletproof.
***
I was trying to get to a specific platform. Lots of my friends are trying to help. I went downstairs to get chocolate and pistachios, and Dad (who is fantastic and never good in my dreams for some reason) went insane and grabbed me. I knocked him out and went to the nearby nursing home to call 911. The nurse I wanted to talk to went to make out with an old man so I tried to find Loki instead.
***
I was trying to skip a large event in the gym. Some mothers stopped me for a conversation and I told them I would never sleep with squirrels. I avoided H in the gym.

Almond Cardamon Cake with Pistachios
This is a wonderful cake very easy to make. It is an almond flour cake with lots of eggs. It is flavored with cardamon and topped with pistachios. What more could anyone ask for?
The only slightly difficult task is separating seven eggs and whisking the whites to soft peaks.
The yolks are blended with 200 grams of sugar followed by 100 grams of canola oil. A full tablespoon of vanilla is added, then 400 grams of almond flour. A tablespoon of cardamon seeds are ground and stirred in.
This gives a very stiff batter, which means you have to work a bit to fold in the egg whites. Do it in batches; it gets easier as you go as you lighten the batter.
Bake the cake in nine inch round cake pan butter and with parchment paper on the bottom. Bake the cake for 48 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Let it cool for a ten minutes or so, then do a double inversion on to your serving plate.
After the cake has cooled for a another ten minutes use your trusty rusty paint brush and cover the top with a simple syrup made by heating three table spoons of sugar with a tablespoon of amaretto in the microwave. Immediately spread 20 grams of coarsely ground pistachios over the top of the cake.
The cake is nice and moist and has a very interesting combination of flavors. Looks a bit a elegant even.

Love, even
Lovers still.
I like the way French sounds
And the way I sound in it.
I like frequenting restaurants owned by friends
And knowing that I’ve got at least 6 more loves left in me.
I like Chinatown produce
Sometimes it goes bad right after I buy it
