FELLAS! I have a theory…A DUEL LINKS THEORY!

Ok hear me out, what if (story wise) Rush Duels were never meant to be in Duel Links? Or at least it was a last minute addition.

Because a lot of the characters in the Rush Worlds (Sevens and Go Rush) were surprised to be there in Duel Links and some of the characters weren’t aware that they’re in a digital world. Now I haven’t played through all of the events, I joined the game before Go Rush world was added but after the Rin and Ruri event so I could be wrong about the Rush characters being surprised.

Except for one, and that’s Zwijo. He doesn’t seem like he was surprised to be there, in fact he acted the same way he did as in the show. Or maybe he also isn’t aware and no one told him. But I want to go with the idea that he is already aware that he’s in a digital world.

My initial thoughts were that Otes somehow placed already existing data of Rush Duels into Duel Links as if he was already aware of Duel Links but the more I think about it, the less sense it makes because I remember that, from clips that I saw, at the end of Ghost Girl’s event, the Vrains squad saw the multiverse and Yuga was there alongside every other protagonist except for two. Yusaku, for obvious reasons, and anyone from DSOD. So clearly he was meant to be there but something else seems to be going on.

Now the question is how did Rush Duels, story wise, get into Duel Links? Whoever created it (my money is on DSOD!Kaiba) must have been aware of it but told none of the Rush Duel characters. It must have taken a lot of money to put a new format in (paraphrasing from Yuamu’s dialogue after you unlock her).

I also want to throw in the idea of Kuaidul (idk how to spell his name sorry)as he canonically has connections to the multiverse but I am not too sure how to unravel that yet. Just wanted to give some food for thought.

So, apparently we will get Go Rush World for Duel Links already this year and there are many people just using this as another "Duel Links is gonna die" whining. Like didn't we have those complaints since Pendulum was introduced? But it seems like with Rush Duel, it's even worse. There has been shittalking when Sevens World was announced and it doesn't stop with Go Rush World. It sucks watching videos of people talking about the latest leaks and most being negative about adding Go Rush World just because they aren't a fan of Rush Duel or just hate the Rush era anime because "those are no real yugioh". I remember one video where the person was saying that adding GR world is bad because "the anime is still airing and they don't have enough characters yet" and their videos about RD not performing well so clearly it's a sign of RD failing and DL is doomed. Which is total bs considering Go Rush is already in its third year and has plenty of characters to offer who could be added besides the main 5 (Yudias, Yuhi, Yuamu, Zwijo and Manabu). Also Rush Duel in Japan is still in the top 10 of best selling card games so RD itself isn't a failure.

Also some saying there's not enough interest in Rush Duel and will just make more people lose interest in DL... I mean, nobody is forced to play the Rush Worlds? And I've seen many people only starting/going back to DL for Rush Duel alone. Would a separate Rush Duel game that ISN'T outdated in terms of cards and mechanics be great? Of course. But since Konami somehow doesn't bother to advertise RD well in the West (I mean, look how poorly DotBR was treated, no Go Rush Switch Game as a follow up + still no TCG Rush Duel), people who want English RD content only have DL for that rn.

Honestly, can't people who aren't interested in RD just accept the adding of Go Rush World and move on to things they like instead of acting like it's the worst that DL could do?

So the next main set after Galactica of Eternity is gonna be called Accel Road of the Attack (or Attack on Accel Road).

Idk about you but I read "accel" and think of 5D's. So if ygo 9 actually happens, it could be similar to 5D's/maybe introduce synchro to Rush? (even though ritual happened recently so maybe synchro won't be a thing or at least not soon)
