On 4 August 1982, Prince William was christened at Buckingham Palace.

The ceremony took place in the Palace’s Music Room, where Charles had been christened 33 years earlier.

Prince William wore the robe that Queen Victoria had commissioned for the christening of her daughter.

“Oh Curses!” Moment: As the next Empress, I tend to be very, ah, pushy. Though I know some others would say demanding. I also tend to mention that I’m going to be an Empress far too much. It’s a habit, I’ll admit.

Favorite Subject: Kingdom Management. As the next Empress, my duty to my kingdom is very important.

Least Favorite Subject: Princessology. I am going to be the Empress, and I’ve had princess lessons my entire life, so it just feels like revision to me.

This isn't at all shitting on Kate but per the website ("major contribution to the arts, science, medicine, or government lasting over a long period of time"), what are her major contributions to any of those fields and what period of time are we talking about? She's done good work but I honestly think it's a stretch to call anything major or over a long period of time

While I don't disagree with the point, if you're upset about royals getting positions they haven't earned then oh boy you're going to find following royals very hard lol.

That's how honours work. What did William contribute to the military or the civil service that was enough for you not to mention him being Great Master of the Order of the Bath? What have Sofia and Carl Philip contributed to Finnish society that is enough to justify them having the Finnish Order of the White Rose they wore yesterday? Royals don't get Honours or Orders through merit, necessarily. They get them for diplomatic reasons or because they are acting as a "sponsor" of the Order, as a representative of the person who issues them all.
