Leather cords | Wholesale Leather cords USA | Sun Enterprises
Leather cords : Here you find exclusive soft round-stitched / machine stitched leather cord. The cord is made of fully dyed lamb leather and contains a soft cotton core which makes it particularly comfortable to wear, for example as a bracelet strap. You can decorate it with charms, beads and pearls and close it with a cord end or clasp which is directly glued to the ends with jewellery glue. For this purpose, we recommend our fully tested jewelry adhesive Loctite Gel.
Round-stitched snakeskin cord is available in the diameters 5mm and 6mm. It consists of snakeskin wrapped around calf leather, which makes the cord more durable.
The diameters stated in the product descriptions of the respective round-stitched leather cords are the actual measurements. This is why the cords definitely fit into the corresponding clasps. For example, a 5mm cord will fit into a clasp with a 5mm hole. For a round-stitched 5mm cord, you can use beads with a hole size down to 4.5mm because the cord is soft and flexible. You can find beads for this type of cord in the categories Bracelet beads & charms and Steel beads & charms. Round-stitched leather is, just like edge-stitched leather/stitched leather, a cord with visible stitches, but with no significant edge.
The common feature of both circular-stitched and edge-stitched skin laces is that they are made up of limited lengths of skin, which results in more or less visible transitions approximately every 80 cm. Unfortunately, this cannot be completely avoided.

SKILL UNLOCKED, KNITTING ABILITY LEVELED UP
So I've been knitting a fair bit as of late, all sorts of shenanigans and funky little things and a thousand fancy plans. Only some stuff finished thus far, but a fair bit of learning new building blocks going on.
And in a fit of pique while trying to get some ridiculously tiny dense pointy picots out of a purlwise cable cast on base, being mad that my normal purling (wrapping the yarn counter-clockwise) made the yarn have to cross SO FAR to get back up to the needle, I just...crossed the yarn up clockwise instead, and it was so much better. Distracted from the picot situation by how well it worked, I wondered why it's not the norm, did a quick search, and...
Found I had accidentally stumbled upon combination knitting? Which (for flat stockinette and the like) involves purling clockwise, and then knitting through the back loop to untwist those stitches. And it has FIXED my purl tension! The left side of my flat stockinette no longer gains a giant, sad loop! (Hell, I think that selvedge might even be neater than the right side now.) And I still don't necessarily like knitting ribbing, or how it looks vs. other, funkier options. But a quick test of normal vs. combination ribs side-by-side? Hot damn, that combo rib looks GOOD.
...Now, to get back to seeing if I can wrangle those picots to do what I want, without resorting to smaller needles...
#knitting#combination knitting#I already often swap out increases/decreases for different ones I like better#what's a little extra purl (and inc/dec) funk to deal with#this happy accident on top of all the lovely tips and tricks and techniques I've learned from sites like nimble-needles#I'd also recently researched things like stacked increases/decreases (which have fun 3d potential)#and scalloped edges/making wide horizontal holes without CO/BO#and came up with an idea for a half-flat i-cord by purling the first stitch#which I plan to use to design a tiny snake pattern#(the nimble-needles alternate curly i-cord by slipping a stitch here and there is still a favorite)#(as is m1bl central double increase)#(and centered double decrease my beloved)#(and lifted increases my other beloved)#...anyway I'm learning lots of knitting things#and designing stuff in over-engineered ways#but unwittingly tripping into combination knitting has been INSTANT GOLD#...though I prefer knitting in the round/seamless whenever I can#so we'll see how often I get to use it#I might post pics of some things I've made soon-ish?#but so much is still in the design phase so it may be a bit

#🎃 Cryptid sighting#Halloween#vintage halloween decorations#I just really love these funky little blow mold lamp dudes#Since I’m in possibly-need-to-move-asap mode & packing up the apartment I haven’t done much decorating in here#(Though most of my year-round decor is basically Halloween decor so it’s not like the apartment doesn’t have the spirit already)#But these guys were my exception#They don’t have their lightbulb+cord clip-on/base since they were cheaply thrifted but that’s easy enough to replace w/safer newer hardware

Wednesday
Wednesday would be Birnam's birthday and Cord came home that day with great news. He was promoted to Junior Officer!
Birnam brought a friend home from school, but before he spend some time with Penelope, he had an important call to do.
Birnam: Is Holly available? Here's her little brother. There was a crackling in the line and some seconds later Birnam heard his elder sister say his name. Birnam: Holly! Finally I found you! You know that it's my birthday today. And it's my only wish, that you'll be there. Holly: B, you know Dad would never allow that. Birnam: It's my only wish. I'm sure Dad will allow it! I'll also talk to Mom if you want me to. Holly: *sigh* Okay: But just for your birthday...
Said and done, Birnam hurried to his mother and told her, Holly would come over for his birthday. Cherry was shocked but also excited. She hadn't see her daughter in days. When she saw her on the front porch, she headed her off.
Cherry: Holly, my dear, I'm so glad to see you. How is the community center? Holly: I'm only here for Birnam's birthday Mom. I know you don't agree with Dad, but you also don't disagree with him, so you're just as guilty as he is. Cherry: Is that what Ms Voyante tells you? Holly: I have a mind of my own, Mom. Cherry *sigh*: Okay hun, but just look that you don't get under your father's eye.
But it was already too late, the second Cherry finished that sentence, the door opened and Cord entered the hallway.
Cord: Holly! What the heck are YOU doing here? Holly: It's my little brother's birthday, Sargent. He invited my for his party. Cord *grumble*: I'll allow you in my house for this one evening, because it's Birnam's birthday. But I want you out by 9 PM and don't try anything funky, young Lady. Holly: Yeah, yeah, whatever. Can I see B now?
Holly really hated the person that was meant to be her father. She hated being in this house. She hated that her mother went to the living room and opened another bottle of whine to drown her sorrow in alcohol. She was only there for Birnam. And she was glad that Ash was at work...
Holly watched Birnam and Penelope play for a while until it was time to blow out the candles.
Birnam grew up well and became a Pleasure Sim. In fact he's influenced more by his elder sister than his father would like as he likes Sims with a bit of a rebellious background and those that know how to work with their hands. He doesn't like beards but he does like boys - girls and boys in fact. He also grows up to be quite the Party Animal. Let's see how Cord would react to this...
The birthday boy spends a pleasant evening with Penelope and Holly until his father thinks it's time for everyone to get lost.
Cord: Okay, that was enough for one day. Birnam was happy, but now get away from my land. Holly: You'll regret this Sargent. You'll lose everyone around you, one day. Just you wait!
Cord just frowned at Holly's curses. He would never lose anybody. He had Cherry and Cherry would always be there. And where Cherry was, the kids were. It was just that simple...

Lamps.
I fucking hate lamps.
#bought a lamp - it required a cord for the armature. as in it was literally just a light-socket and a lampshade#alright. fuck me i guess. i went specifically to the lamp store that sold lamps instead and bought two lamps.#i talked with the clerk and was given the cords with the right contacts (which were sold separately ofc)#(on top of the actual lightbulbs for these types of lamps but that's whatever at this point)#came home and decided to move the one lamp i had that worked to my bedroom instead so i had good lights elsewhere#that lamp had a SLIGHTLY different contact. i'm talking like literally a difference between ''perfectly round'' to ''has a single flat side'#and my only guess for why this is might be that they've updated the contact-shape at some point in the last 30+ years?#except i had THAT EXACT SHAPE for contacts already in my apartment. so it's like... what the fuck?#then the first lamp i bought turned out to have been designed by an idiot - to the point where i had to basically discard the instructions#(i did manage to get it functioning - but i'm not going to be terribly surprised if it comes crashing down at some point)#and the second lamp i bought required a flat-head screwdriver. which is the one thing i don't have. so i can't install the cords on it#so i've bought three lamps - and the number of working lamps in my apartment has not increased at all#i feel like this should be some type of illegal - why can't the fucking lamp-industry at least standardize basic fucking contact-types?#personal stuff#rants

Okay started my extremely low work knitted top, yay!
#tbh I'm not in the mood to do this but i also don't want to finish it when it's too cold to wear it so#it shouldn't take long anyway! I'm literally doing a single round piece and reduce by two stitches every 3 rows#it's one of those pretty color changing yarn so I'm making it with 0 sewing#it's a single block and then i will crochet a single cord to hold it up behind my neck#i need to sew one or two buttons and then gravity will do all the work to shape ir#hopefully#i haven't knitted in 10 years

More adventures in knitting! I just figured out how to remember whether to knit/purl normally or through the back loop for each type of lifted increase.
You insert the needle from the side of the origin stitch.
So if you're lifting from a stitch on the right needle, you come in from the right (either ktbl, or purl). If you're lifting from a stitch on the left needle, you come in from the left (so knit, or ptbl).
The lean of them I find easier to remember. If you lift before knitting the origin stitch, you're adding it on the right of that stitch, so it will lean right. If you're lifting it after knitting the origin stitch, you're adding it on the left of that stitch, so it'll lean left.
For remembering M1R/L, I combined the tip I saw on nimble-needles (about halfway down the page there's a big "how to remember" titled section) that the front leg of the stitch should lean in the desired direction--plus my personal observation/interpretation of "knit (or purl) through whichever side is harder/more annoying to get the needle into because that part of the leg is shorter and has less room." (The site does include a way to remember the second half of the tip, but it's easier for me to internalize "more annoying" than "closer to the next stitch.")
This is gonna save me SO many reference tabs.
#knitting#knitting tips#lifted increases#make 1 increases#nimble-needles#I adore that site with its detailed breakdowns of how and why things work#plus variations/alternative suggestions (the curly i-cord variant is SO GOOD)#but yeah I am over-engineering the shit out of what I'm currently designing#I am combining SO MANY INCREASE TYPES in a single round#for the sake of the smoothest fabric within a minimal number of rounds#(except for when there's bumps on purpose then it's KFBF and the tiniest stacked increase)#so not having to keep multiple tabs of these increases open while I test and re-(re-re-)test is very nice

Monday
Cord knew that his wife was going through a difficult phase. She didn't want to move Holly over to the Group House. When would she finally understand that this was the only possibility for a girl like her? She wasn't like the watcher wanted her to be. She was full of sin and would drag their youngest Brinam into her sinful behaviors too, if she continued to live with them. When would she finally understand?
Cherry knew that Cord was right, he was always right. But Holly was her baby... her beautiful little baby girl...
Ash hated how he was dragged into all of this. His dad said that Holly wasn't normal and that she couldn't live with them because of it. But he was so confused. So confused that he needed to write everything down. When Dad found out he would be mad, so he hid the notebook under Holly's bed.
Cherry hated how Cord always invited all those people over. Everyone but Holly...
And that night the family got another setback: The results of Ash's college applications came in - and weren't satisfying. He was declined from all three universities.
Esmee: Listen boy, going to college is totally overrated. Back in MY youth, nobody went to college, believe me...
When the guests finally left, Cherry felt like she couldn't breath anymore. She just - she just needed something to calm her nerves. She knew Cord hated it but he was upstairs fixing a broken sink. He wouldn't see her wouldn't notice. Just one quick sip and she'd be okay again, right?
Three glasses later Cord's cutting voice threw Cherry off.
Cord: Cherry! You told me you wouldn't drink anymore! Di- did you empty half of the bottle while I was upstairs? Cherry, that was half an hour? Have you even though about the boys? Do you want that kind of mother for them? Set such a horrible example for them.
No, Cherry didn't want to be a horrible example. But she just couldn't help it...
