Hatsune Miku is in Rocket League!! I didn't know this, because she is only in the Chinese version of the game, which is shutting down fairly soon apparently... (Someone, please extract the models!!)

"What are you looking at?" she heard the other voice say. smiling at the source, she shook her head. "Just looking at how beautiful you are" blaire heard her voice say. looking at the soft blush coating her companion's face, she felt satisfied to know that she had the upper hand. "not as beautiful as you tho ruth…" said the other voice. feeling the soft crimson color on her cheek, she turned to the other side making the other laugh. hearing the laughter never failed to bring smile on blaire's face. just looking at the smile on her lover's face was enough to make her fall in love all over again with the said individual. traveling and creating memories has always been her favorite pastime. but she never once imagined she'd be doing it with the love of her life.

grinning to herself, she took a picture of her lover looking at the camera they had just bought together. she knew how she'd be asked to send that picture so that the other could share it with everyone but she wanted to keep it to herself. she wanted to keep them to herself. afraid if others opinions on their love would taunt her too much, she's always kept to herself. even if someone found out, they'd just think that they're just two best friends traveling together right? She was very grateful to have someone by her side who listens to her rambles without any complaints. all her past boyfriends have in one way the other once complained about her talking too much which once led her to stop all together.

but this….. this time it felt different. it was as if even if blaire was to explain the concept of rocket science, her lover would listen. she'd be urged to tell more about what she knew and not just shut up and sit in a corner. everytime she would talk about anything, she felt a pair of eyes that belonged to someone that listened. the first time she cried in front of her beloved was when she was gifted the thing that she had been talking non stop about 6-7 months ago. just the thought makes her eyes water. she was sure that she was way out of her lover's league. she was surprised to know that the feelings were reciprocated. she still remembers coming home to the members being so confused on why their blaire was acting so weird. she was so happy that day she would've kissed them right then and there. but that would mean that all her hard work of rizzing up her beloved would go down the drain. the memories they shared together would always hold a special place in her heart.

deep down, she knows they aren't supposed to last long. she knows that, but she can't help but fall in love more each passing day. she also knows her members won't say anything that might hurt her. after all sage was the one who introduced her to the love of her life. the only person who knew about this love they shared beside them was ivy. of course it was ivy, blaire remembers laughing about how ivy is saving everybody's ass every time.

ivy was the one who encouraged blaire to go for it. give her love a try instead of wilting away with sadness. she sometimes wonders if her and her lover look at each other the same way ivy and her boyfriend look at each other. she feels as if she's dreaming everytime shes with her soulmate. her friends from home would for sure tease her to death if they knew about her whipped condition now. She was always the third wheel of the friend group. Whenever her friends would get boyfriends, she always joked that she was their child and not just a third wheel. but as much as Ruth likes to forget the feeling, she did get a lot lonely in the past.

When she got her first boyfriend, he was an ass. She thinks back to it now, he never paid attention to her, never encouraged her, never showed any love or any kind of emotion. she felt so good when she finally mustered up the courage to break up with him after almost a year. Now, Blaire couldn't even think about her lover not paying attention. she's constantly showered with compliments and reassurance and just what not… she feels complete. Her heart feels content and it's as if a million butterflies are having a party in her stomach everytime her beloved looks at her.

The feeling of loneliness is long gone. She knows it's just a matter of time before the end things but she wants to savor their love until then. She doesn't know when that said moment is but she wants to slow down time. They knew what they were getting into the second they laid eyes on each other and they knew the consequences of their actions but it still hurt blaire to think about the end. how can she forget. how can she forget all the loving gazes, the secret hand holding, the secret kisses they shared… quickly thinking of their good times, blaire smiles towards no one in particular. she can think of the bad things later.

blaire is shaken out of her daydream by her beloved telling her it was time to board the plane. getting on it with high expectations to spend the summer with the person she loves, she did not in fact predict she'd come back alone with a broken heart and tear stains down her cheek.

“Community, Togetherness, Collaboration” FIZZ On ‘The Secret To Life’

Martin Luke Brown, Greta Isaac, Orla Gartland, and the mononymous dodie are each successful singer-songwriters. Just a couple of months ago, Martin released his long-awaited debut album damn, ‘look at the view!’. Last year, Greta released the EP ‘I Think You’d Hate It Here’ – and she also runs a successful enterprise doing art direction for other artists. Among these artists is dodie, who in 2022 achieved the career-long goal of appearing on NPR’s Tiny Desk series, following the release of her critically acclaimed ‘Hot Mess’ EP. Playing guitar with dodie behind the desk was Orla Gartland, whose debut album ‘Woman on the Internet’ took the world by storm in 2021, and whose brand new single ‘Kiss Ur Face Forever’ was released at the start of August. 

The curricula vitae of these four musicians are long and impressive. And in June, they announced that they were coming together to form FIZZ, a gaudy, genre-bending supergroup which sounds a little like all of them and nothing like any of them, all at once. Alongside the release of debut single ‘High In Brighton’, the band announced that their debut album would be coming in September – and that its title would be ‘The Secret To Life’. 

I had the opportunity to all four cogs in the FIZZ wheel via ZOOM in July, and my first question was a broad one. 

“What is the secret to life?”

“That’s what we’re all trying to figure out!” Greta protests. 

“For me, the secret to life is finding comfort in absolutely everything,” says dodie. 

Orla agrees. “It’s community, togetherness, collaboration,” she adds. “Being in a band but also like…having tea together.”

Greta says that “The secret to life is unwavering commitment to carrying on,” while Martin’s answer adds a touch of whimsy to proceedings. “It’s playing Rocket League, with the boys standing next to me,” he says, quoting a track from the upcoming album.

I ask the band if it was scary to come together as FIZZ. 

“I think everything is scary!” says dodie.

“Relate!” says Greta, “I haven’t left my house in days!”

“We promised ourselves we would leave our egos at the door when making this album and there was something so unfamiliar about that,” dodie adds. “It was scary and difficult – and it still is – but at the same time it’s so rewarding.”

What I hear on ‘The Secret To Life’ is four egos in a room managing to co-exist, and when I share this with Greta, it seems to resonate. 

“We have to remember that we made the album and all of our voices are equal and that shows up in the tiniest places. The best decisions are made when we each have our voices heard.”

“It’s an honour to rock out with you guys,” Orla adds, in an ironic, self-effacing American accent. The band bursts into laughter, and I get a little peek into what it might have been like in the studio during the making of the album. 

The consensus among the band seems to be that it’s felt refreshing to leave introspection behind. Martin points out that dodie – known elsewhere for the quietness of her vocals – is screaming on this album. Martin himself meanwhile has gone from ruminating on masculinity on his debut to “banging on his chest and taking up space” here. 

I ask Martin how it feels to be the “token man” in the band, and he says that during their Latitude set, an older couple had asked his pronouns, thanks no doubt to his flamboyant stage outfit. 

“I’m a straight man,” he says “But I felt so touched by someone of that generation asking that. It felt so humbling. Growing up, I was quite flamboyant naturally.”

“It’s a slippery slope, Martin,” I warn him, citing my own experience as a trans woman. 

“Welcome!” the rest of the band jokes.

“Something I’m very conscious of is that our audiences are quite gay,” Martin says, pointing to dodie and Orla in particular. “And I wanna respect that and exist in that environment in a way that feels me and not like I’m pretending.”

At risk of making a lofty comparison, I tell the band that the album reminded me of ‘Sgt. Pepper…’ by The Beatles. I ask the band whether they feel as though they’re playing characters on the record – and if so, who those characters are. 

“We’re elevated versions of ourselves,” says Orla. “and pushing each other to be more out-there”. 

“We’ve relinquished expectations of what we should be making and how we should be presenting,” says Greta. “It was a realisation of what we’re craving in our own artist projects, which was explosive, uncompromising joy.”

I ask the band if the joy of the album is all real, or if there’s something bleak being played on here. Is ‘The Secret to Life’ an attempt to escape from a pervasive sense of existential dread? 

“That’s spookily like something we’ve said before,” says Orla. “That really we’re adults playing dress up and trying to re-ignite the joy in life.”

“It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows,” says Greta. “There’s this mesh between youth and adulthood that’s complicated and messy.”

“I will say that the whole process has genuinely been unadulterated joy,” offers Martin, placing a reassuring hand on Greta’s shoulder. “There really hasn’t been any kind of weird ulterior motive. Whenever I speak to other artists, everyone’s moaning about TikTok and how hard you have to work as a musician. It’s a slog – and for a lot of people, the shine of it has just worn off. I think the novelty of being a musician isn’t enough to keep you smiling anymore. Starting a band and doing an album like this is a response to ten years in the industry. It’s joy that’s come from pain.”

I suggest that listeners might share the band’s pain here, especially in the political climate of 2023. It feels as though FIZZ is the music people are reaching for. 

“I feel like I’m chronically afraid of the world,” adds Greta, laughing through gritted teeth. “And getting to create FIZZ was an escape from all of that, but naturally a fear of life creeps into it as well. I would hope it would offer comfort and validation when you need it,” Greta agrees. 

When I cheekily ask about the album’s lead single ‘High in Brighton’ and what it might be about, Martin tells me it’s all about paragliding. 

“If you do go paragliding or ride the zip line in Brighton,” Greta says with a wink, “then make sure you do it with people you feel safe with and trust – and check in that you’re ready to go paragliding.”

“Maybe just have a good time before the FIZZ gig,” Martin advises cryptically. 

The production on the album is busy, deliberately messy, and full of countless little exciting details. I’m interested to know when and how the band – and producer Pete Miles – knew when to stop. 

“Pete tells us when to stop,” says Martin with a smile. “He has a holistic approach to everything. Pete is a bit of a wizard and he sets us up as primary school kids and encourages us to just run around making noise. Then it felt like we would just get tired, and Pete would be like – that’s it.”

At this point in our conversation – which is happening over ZOOM – Martin silently leaves the room to have a wee. The rest of the band apologises, and I tell them it’s okay because I can’t hear him. “We can,” they say in chorus. 

Conversation turns to the latest single ‘As Good As It Gets’, on which Greta takes the lead vocal. She says she turned up to the studio upset and stressed that day, and tapped into “a voice I didn’t know I had”. 

“I don’t mean a singing voice,” she clarifies, “I mean the bravery of just going for it. We probably wouldn’t have been able to sing that way if we hadn’t felt that pain. That’s what’s so special about this band. Our fears and our vulnerability and our pain is given a function and a meaning. I was so grateful for that day.”

“For all the convoluted things that this job can be,” says Orla, “taking what you feel and processing it through song is the reason I got into this. It feels like 2% of what we do sometimes, but it’s still its core for me. To me, that’s the whole reason for doing music, and there’s so much of that on this album.”

“I love writing with you guys,” adds dodie. “Our whole ethos with FIZZ is to get rid of the restraints – and we’re such fans of each other that we said yes to everything, which makes the songs so maximalist but so interesting and so fun. If I could take away everything else, I would just wanna write with you forever.”

dodie’s words here are the sort of sentiment that would normally inspire a moment’s reflection, or hugs and thank yous. But in FIZZ, they go unremarked upon. The band just carries on talking about something else. And that’s not to say they don’t appreciate dodie’s words – far from it. It’s just that FIZZ has fostered a culture where the magic of collaboration is constantly acknowledged, love and friendship are constantly upheld, and celebration doesn’t just happen on special occasions. Maybe that – at the end of it all – is ‘The Secret to Life’.

Summary: Returning home to Paldea to retire, after living a life known as the "Champion of Champions" brings you back to an old friend -now a new love- with dark secrets who need your help.

Notes/Warnings: Nothing major, this story is going to be fairly light hearted, though I will be using some of the wild Pokédex entries as reference for a few scenes.

Geeta was silent for a long second before leaning back in her seat, weeks of planning and plotting and help from the kids had given you a vast network of Team Rocket sightings all over Paldea, along with what had resulted in arrests and notes on if those arrests led to prison time or not. Some of the grunts had done it due to coercion from the higher ranking members, Lucas’ executives, but others truly wanted the money that came from stealing and selling Pokémon illegally.

“We’ll have to try and track down the buyers too, the reason it’s working is that there is a market after all, they are just as guilty.” Geeta’s remark made you nod gently, you’d been swarmed by all sorts of people asking to buy your Pokémon from you, the partners and friends you’d grown with who helped you achieve victory in the region’s League, and when you’d denied them… the attitude had been ridiculous coming from people twice your age. Treating your friends like toys or collectibles instead of living creatures, a disgusting mindset.

“I’m sure the techs behind PC Box technology will help out, Jacq is a guarantee and so is Bill, I’ll reach out to all of them. You spoke to the other Chairpersons? How’d that go?”

“About as good as you can expect, now that you’ve tackled the trouble in their region most of them don’t really care about ours, too busy worrying about their League seasons and duties. But the new Champions were willing to keep an eye out, so there’s that.” You exhaled and leaned back in your armchair, knowing that your successors were good kids who wanted better for their regions was a relief.

“How does it feel, having your Championship team at the ready?” Geeta took a small sip of her tea and studied you, knowing that with the fast approaching end of the season you’d traded out your travel team for the six Pokémon that had been by your side when you’d been named the Champion, the team that she’d repeatedly lost to again and again before agreeing to be the pseudo-Champion so that you could travel and see the world.

“Strange, it feels very strange, it’s nostalgic as hell. Geeta what the hell am I supposed to do if I lose? I’ve never thought about what I wanted to do after all of this.” Pokémon raising and battling was your life, it had kept you going for so long, you’d traveled and learned more and more about the world and the creatures that were part of it. You had joked about spending a few weeks just sleeping in a bed, since you hadn’t exactly expected any of what you’d come home to, but you knew how you were and the restlessness would set in quickly if you woke up with no responsibilities too many mornings in a row.

“Whatever you want, so long as we actually pull this off and get Team Rocket out of our home for good.”

Leaving Rook and Wheels back with the others in your PC felt strange but it was imperative that you had your championship team on hand, in order to make Lucas sweat and create a solid distraction for the kids you’d come to an agreement to challenge the Elite Four and Geeta live in front of everyone. As if you were taking the League on for the first time yourself, a way to showcase why you were still the Champion as well as put all eyes on you since Addie and her friends had come up with three locations that might possibly be Team Rocket’s base.

Javi, Lucas, and a few other local big businessmen were going to be sitting with the Professors from Uva Academy up in the VIP box of the stadium; allowing the kids to divide and conquer the three locations that you’d all come up with as possible headquarters to potentially end Team Rocket before they could get stronger. It was kind of terrifying to think that after weeks and weeks of plotting and careful coordination, after weeks of not knowing if Lucas had caught on to your plans, that all of it would be over. Either the kids all came out strong or they all lost, an equally terrifying fate, which was why you’d enlisted the help of the Gym Leaders as a last minute chance.

You had no clue if any of them did work for Lucas, if it was just Poppy as his in with the League or if he had someone else, but you couldn’t risk sending the kids in without some sort of back-up. Larry, as a joint Gym Leader and member of the Elite Four, was the only one excluded from the operation since you had to face him in front of the crowds; in his place you sent Addie’s father, after he found out just what was happening because of a slip-up on Javi’s part.

As a parent he’d been proud and terrified of what was happening in Addie’s life currently, to ease his worries you allowed him to help. Nicolas had enlisted his wife Olivia to actually go with Addie since she didn’t get nearly as much notice as he did in a crowd, choosing instead to be a distraction the best way he could and putting on a small performance in the area while his wife and daughter and her team infiltrated the supposed base.

With all of these combating things swirling in your head you looked up at Geeta and felt the weariness, the fear and the worry that this wouldn’t work clashing with the hope and attempts at keeping positive and trusting in the abilities of those that had come after you, it weighed you down and your friend reached out to take your hands in hers.

“I think you need this more than you know, you need time to just be you, even traveling the world you always checked in and asked about the students and if the League needed you to come back. I know that if you could handle all of this on your own, that you would; that you would allow these kids to just be kids a little longer while you did what the League Champions and Gym Leaders you defeated should have done for you. Not one of those kids blames you for needing help, none of us blame you for needing back-up and asking us to make sure that this works.” Geeta’s forehead bumped yours and she squeezed your hands, pulling you into a hug that you hadn’t even realized you needed.

“You’ve been a Champion your entire life, you’ve been pushing yourself and changing the world for the better your entire life, you have never gotten to just be you since you were ten. You need to finally discover who you are without any of that.”

“How do you always make so much sense?” Geeta laughed at your question and let you cry as the emotions finally bubbled over, spilling into a soft sniffle before you burst into tears. All you wanted was for this to work out, for your home to be safe and the kids to come out of this okay, for Javi to finally be free.

He understood why you couldn’t tell him anything, he knew better than to ask for details of your plan, you were providing him with plausible deniability if this didn’t work; but Javi hated it all the same. You looked amazing in the clothes you’d chosen for today, the white formal vest covered just enough that you’d opted out of a shirt underneath and the knee length trousers were wide-leg and in the same shade of the Uva Academy uniform.

It was a call back to your first victory, all those years ago, when you’d been wearing the Spring Uniform shorts and button down. Part of why he suspected this “Champion Re-Assessment Tournament” was all part of your plan to end Lucas’ operation for good.

Beside him Lucas was talking to his fiancée, speculating how well Poppy would perform against the Champion of Champions, and Javi caught Jacq’s eye as his old schoolmate glanced up from his Rotom Phone. Both of them had once been your friends and rivals, though Geeta and Jacq had been your main contenders more often than Javi, and yet it was strange being in this setting once more.

“Do you think she’ll do it, defeat all four of them in a row and Geeta?” Ilise, his cousin’s bride-to-be, looked genuinely doubtful and Javi felt the swell of pride knowing that you’d prove her wrong. There had been a lot of people who had been unhappy with your return, who saw Geeta as the true Champion given your choice to leave the region for so long, and this would not only bring focus to the future of the League but remind people why you had gotten to where you were.

“Without any doubts, she has been battling and winning Pokémon Leagues all over the world for decades now has she not?” He earned a nod and Ilise’s expression shifted to consideration as she looked down at the battlefield where Poe was facing off against Rika’s Whiscash, sending Eevee against an aquatic Pokémon hadn’t made much sense until you’d gone on the offensive weaving trailblaze -a grass type move- into a flurry of attacks when the water-type emerged to attack directly.

You truly had changed, you’d always trusted your Pokémon partners but now you stood with more confidence and he could see the way your eyes darted over the battlefield as it kept changing due to the damages being caused from every ability thrown. The way you were creating a new strategy, like having Poe use quick attack to bounce off boulders that Whiscash had broken up in order to put more momentum behind the landing attack. He was so invested in your battle for the moment, in watching as you once again captured the hearts of the region, that he didn’t realize the box was slowly clearing out around him.

“Javi.” He turned and barely managed to throw himself out of the way of a fist, Lucas now on his feet as Ilise held a pokéball at the ready, and down blow he heard screaming in the stands as dozens of Team Rocket members began calling out their Pokémon while the professors helped the trainers in the crowd try to fight back against the attack.

“I know your little girlfriend has been scheming against me, and I’m going to make sure she backs off even if it means I have to kill you, cousin.” Lucas’ remark was followed by him calling on his Pyroar and it was quickly joined by Ilise’s Flamigo. Arizona was growling the second he called on her and Javi knew he had to get out of the VIP box for more room as fast as he could.

“Arizona, we need to move.” Your recent practice matches, with Javi being your opponent, had helped refresh his battle skills and Arizona blasted a hyper voice out that disoriented all four of their opponents before following him out the door. He very nearly collided with you, Poe letting out a low bark, and your hand gripped his tightly.

“Addie’s group is in danger, we have to get to Alfornado now!” Javi nodded and called on Rook, you’d given him the pokéball to hang onto just in case and your Corviknight easily carried the two of you over the crowd the moment you managed to get outside. You had your Rotom phone floating beside you, showcasing Nic and Grusha working together to face off against some executive while Addie and her friends faced off a seemingly endless amount of Team Rocket grunts.

“Where did all of these people even come from?!” He truly had no idea how Lucas and his family managed to create such a large scale faction of thieves and criminals. Javi could expect some of them being forced to do this, sure, but not all of them; this many people couldn’t be forced into attacking citizens in public like this.

“All of the people who were forced into his operation were at his dummy headquarters in Zapapico and Porto Marinada, they surrendered the moment that they were confronted by the Team Star kids and the Gym Leaders; it’s all of the volunteer members that stayed in Alfornado and came to watch the Re-Assessment Tournament today.”

“That was a lot of people in the stands though, dozens! How many are back at Alfornado?” The idea that the kids were heavily outnumbered didn’t sit well with him, especially since it was Nic’s daughter that was among the group and you’d been stressing enough about how you were doing the same as the Champions before you, and your eyes were on the horizon as the town came into view.

“Enough to be a problem.” As Rook landed outside of Lucas’ manor -the one place Javi didn’t think he would be brave enough to use as a headquarters- you were off and he raced after you without any hesitating once he’d recalled Rook. You had Poe come out of his ball, Javi quickly doing the same with Arizona, and as he ran beside you Javi felt brave enough to fight so that he could have a happy future with you. Even if it meant he had to give up everything, if he had to service jail time for hiding the truth, all that mattered was Team Rocket being stopped for good.

Arizona let out a hyper voice as Poe went on the offensive with trailblaze to take out the water type Tauros that Addie’s Quaquaval was facing, allowing Nic’s Mr. Mime to get a light screen out.

“Lucas is on his way here, all of you need to get out of here before he does because he will not hesitate to kill you.” Javi’s warning as you and Addie worked together to finally pin down the two executives made both Nic and Olivia look at the kids, in the time it took to get here the couple and their young charges managed to KO the Pokémon of the grunts and send them running, now he needed the evidence for the League and to do that he needed to get into the study.

“Alright, are you two going to be-“

“We’ll be fine, take the kids and go.”

Your sharp reply as you all but shoved Addie toward her friends made Javi nod too, standing beside you as Nic called on his Corviknight to get everyone out, and once Yilena -Lucas’ main executive- realized that she was in trouble she chose to run. He stopped you from chasing her, shaking his head and leading you out of the second floor lounge into Lucas’ study, and you stood by ready to fight as Javi worked to get into Lucas’ system after getting through to Turo for help.

Javi’s heart was racing as Turo began sending details of employee accounts, bank information, and all the evidence the League would need to pursue legal action to Geeta. There was a margin of a chance that you’d be able to get out before Lucas got here, a small one, but a chance all the same; he didn’t want to see you hurt and Javi knew this was when the desperation would push his cousin to do something stupid.

“It’s done, let’s go-“

“Get down Javi!” Your scream was shrill as he heard the loud rush of roaring flames and something stood at his back protecting him from the flames, the blaze slowed down and he turned to see something incredible. Arizona and Poe were standing together but they weren’t Eevee now, instead there was a pink and blue Sylveon standing together with their ribbons intertwined and two layers of a light screen protecting you and him from Lucas’ Charizard.

All the years of Arizona refusing to evolve, whenever he’d tried to give her the choice of stone, and now she’d done so to protect him. Her pink eyes gleamed when she glanced back at him, looking so cute with her blue and white fur and pink tipped ribbons.

“After all this time you evolve your runt into that? Charizard, use inferno.”

“Poe use moonblast!”

“Disarming voice, Arizona.”

Watching the two Sylveon work as a team, with Arizona disrupting Charizard so that Poe’s attack could land, was truly a spectacle and Javi felt your hand slide into his to remind him that you were here too. That you were by his side, facing this down with him.

He watched you pull out your Tera orb, watched the shimmer as Poe began to respond to it, and the blue Tera crystal gleamed as it formed and boosted your Pokémon’s power. As the water nature energy swirled within the hollow crystal, a phenomenon that Turo was still trying to determine the origin of, Javi watched your eyes sparkle and felt your hand grip his tighter as Charizard’s mouth began to fill with flames. He felt his heart pounding as he stood there with you.

“Arizona, helping hand, please.” The glow of energy that formed around her flowed into Poe, giving him even more power to make sure that Lucas’ Charizard would not get back up.

“Tera blast!” The tera energy transferred from the crystal formation into three fast moving spirals of water with the third tightening into a whirlpool, the spray of water was strong enough to spray so much that the flames were extinguished around the room and it knocked Lucas onto the floor. It had to be luck that he hit his head, allowing Javi to rush over and secure him with the curtain ropes for the authorities to arrive, and you looked up at him with a smile once he was certain his cousin would not be breaking out of the temporary binding.

Watching you raid Lucas’ belt for his pokéballs, recalling his Charizard, you had Marshmallow -your Baxcalibur- carry the restrained man out of the manor as the League officials and the police officers that weren’t on Lucas’ payroll arrived to secure him for his prison sentence.

Pocket Monsters Best Wishes Season 2 Missing Chapter: Reshiram VS Zekrom!

With so much buzz going around about the lost chapter(s) of the Best Wishes! series having been uncovered, I felt in the mood to do a post about the missing chapter(s) of the Unova Saga, and I call these  “missing” because unlike Team Rocket VS Team Plasma!, they never existed. They were never planned, never written, never animated, voiced, or scored, straight up never concieved as episodes even when they would’ve been a natural fit for the originally intended longer runtime for Unova’s Post-League arc, and could’ve served as an extended grand finale for not just that arc but for the entire Unova Saga. I already wrote about it a bit here, but I felt like this warranted further elaboration on how such an event would play out, in the style of an authentic PokeAni two-parter penned by Atsuhiro Tomioka!

Oh, and this is just fast-going cliff notes, so you’re probably going to want to read this in Johnny Bravo’s voice.

PREVIOUSLY ON POKEMON BEST WISHES SEASON 2:

So in the previous episode, Charizard was fighting Reshiram at the White Ruins when Reshiram was under the effect of the Pokemon Control Device, making it a mindless slave to the evil Team Plasma.

Colress put Pikachu under the device’s control for the third time, but this time Pikachu’s heart didn’t waver even while under mind control, and its heart and Reshiram’s had an exchange via Pikachu’s shocks.

So Pikachu used Electro Ball at the same time Reshiram launched a Fusion Flare, both attacks directed at the Pokemon Control Device.

The device went KABLOOIE and got all busted up!

Colress was mortified, like how could this have happened?

But when Reshiram shook off the mind control, it was furious!

And Colress realized it was surpassing what he’d believed was its maximum strength potential that had been raised by the device.

Reshiram then fired a bunch of blue fire blasts down upon the ruins!

And then it took off into the sky, headed towards Dragonspiral Tower!

That episode ended with Reshiram perching at the top of the tower, with N believing that it was readying to raze the whole dang region!

TRUTH & IDEALS MEET! RESHIRAM VS ZEKROM! PART 1:

So that Ghetsis guy starts laughing madly at the turn of events, and he says he’d already prepared for this possible eventuality. He raises up his staff-cane thingy and it glows, sending some kind of signal.

From the east comes a flying sail barge, the result of Team Plasma’s  “Project F” - the Flying Freeze Frigate! A cannon at the bow of the ship is loaded with Never-Melt Ice from East Unova’s Frozen Ruins.

Team Plasma boards the Frigate, declaring they’ll get Reshiram yet!

Colress and his grunt squad are in charge of manning the cannon, while above deck Ghetsis is steering the thing with his cane-wheel.

Those two surrogate sisters of N’s are worried about Reshiram, while Looker and Team Rocket are more concerned with the Plasma guys.

Our heroes split up, with Ash, Cilan, Iris, N, and Papa Juniper taking higher ground in order to reach that tower as fast as they can!

Reshiram is powering up on top of the tower, but hasn’t attacked yet.

As Hero of Truth, N tries to talk Reshiram down. Seems to be wor…

OOF! Reshiram is zapped from behind by Team Plasma’s flying ship!

That evil Lord Ghetsis guy smugly proclaims that the last remnant of Colress’ Pokemon mind control technology is embedded in his cane!

Unfortunately it’s the prototype tech that just sends Reshiram into a wild frenzy as it takes off from the tower at full speed and strength!

This don’t seem to bother Colress, who says he’ll enjoy the hunt.

So Team Plasma pursues Reshiram, hoping to freeze it in place!

But back on the tower, Papa Juniper remembers oh yeah, he got the Golden Dark Stone and just so happened to be carrying it with him!

After collapses and uproars, the Golden Dark Stone’s given to Ash.

The stone recognizes Ash and Pikachu as Heroes with ideals worthy of Zekrom’s presence, so it summons Zekrom to their location!

[Cut to commercials]

We see this dark dragon with glowing blue eye gradually emerging from the storm clouds as lightning flashes like in BW01.

And there it is! It’s the one and only bona-fide Zekrom!

With a mighty roar, Zekrom charges up and takes off after Reshiram!

Ghetsis can tell from the lightning storm that Zekrom has appeared.

Oh! Zekrom caught up with Reshiram and is now trying to steer it right again. They’re over the Moor of Icirrus right now, by the way.

Uh oh! Team Plasma’s flying ship comes in and is firing its freeze ray!

Ash, Pikachu, and N are on Charizard while Iris, Cilan, and Papa Juniper are on Dragonite, and they fly over to the Frigate to stop it!

But it looks like those Plasma grunts on deck were ready for them!

And once again, the Plasma Liepards go on the offensive!

They even bring out the big guns, like this Metagross!

Team Rocket shows up on their jet packs, looking to settle the score!

Colress notes that Reshiram and Zekrom seem unable to come to any sort of compromise, and so they’ve started duking it out!

An uncreasingly unhinged Ghetsis vows that both Legendary Dragon Pokemon will be his, and with them, so shall the Unova region!

And here’s where we end Part 1, with the big fight in full swing!

TRUTH & IDEALS MEET! RESHIRAM VS ZEKROM! PART 2:

So Team Plasma’s Pokemon are engaged in all-out warfare!

And there are lots of EXPLOSIONS! BA-KOOM!

Back with the Dragon battle, Zekrom raises its power to the max!

Distressingly, Reshiram’s fire power and Zekrom’s lightning go together like flames to gasoline, creating randomized destruction!

Over in the Village of Dragons, the Elder and Drayden can feel it.

And so can Champion Alder and his new protege in the nearby city.

Back at the flying Frigate, Ghetsis opens up a hatch door to release his trump card - a Hydreigon with enhanced strength and brutality!

Iris’ Dragonite recognizes this particular Hydreigon and is enraged!

Dragonite and Charizard tag team against the enhanced Hydreigon.

Team Rocket has Woobat and Yamask come in to help them out!

But of course, it’s Dragonite who ends up landing the finishing blow!

[Cut to commercials]

At this point, Reshiram and Zekrom’s fight has moved further down from Iccirus, somewhere close to Entralink.

Colress is tired and frustrated now, wanting to put out all the stops!

The moment of Truth and Ideals arrives - Pikachu can feel Zekrom’s power resonating with it once again, so it sends some of its own super-charged electrical energy back to Zekrom!

Embued with extra strength, Zekrom lets out a large burst of power!

Which not only strikes down Reshiram but hurtles right towards Team Plasma’s Frigate just as all our heroes have gotten out of dodge!

Team Plasma ain’t so lucky, as they get hit by it at full force!

Ghetsis furiously raves about how all his plans are shot, literally!

So Team Plasma goes down with their ship.

And considering its work done, Zekrom departs above the clouds.

But Reshiram is still around, and from the look of it, still angry!

But what’s this? N steps forward to give Reshiram a good talking to!

And Reshiram actually seems willing to hear him out.

Team Plasma emerges from the wreckage of their Frigate. Ghetsis tries to use his cane, but the tech inside it has gone totally defective.

Ghetsis is breaking down as his loyal grunts say they need to retreat!

But Ash, Iris, and Cilan don’t allow them the chance to do so!

With Team Plasma out of the way, N continues his heart to heart.

He passionately says big words to convey the truth he’s found.

And Reshiram responds with approval. He is the Hero of Truth!

With that, Reshiram too departs back above the clouds.

N tells his sisters he wants to continue travelling Unova with them.

Later that afternoon, the police come take Team Plasma into custody.

Looker gives Ash and Pikachu his thanks for another job well done.

Papa Juniper is distraught over the loss of the Light Stone.

Until his team find him and tell him of new discoveries elsewhere.

Team Rocket flees the scene, glad to have once again witnessed what makes Ash’s Pikachu such a special Pikachu for them to nab.

Before he leaves with his sisters, N says his goodbye to Ash, Iris, and Cilan, precious and important friends who’ve changed his life.

Through a meeting of Truth and Ideals, Unova has been protected.

As the journey continues and stuff! Oh wow, that was something!

Awww, thank you!!!! 😊 So some of my favorite games. I'm kinda all over the place, hahaha. I really like Rocket League( love, hate relationships with the game). that's what I stream a lot on Twitch (WingDingKiller666 cough cough) lmao, but I also like CoD, Battlefield the Little Nightmares series (can't wait for the 3rd one), and I like racing games! I just bought a racing wheel and pedals! :)

I don't think I have a single wheel that I own that could match Opalescent Lambo decal. I'm aware that there are probably more that go with Rocket League's previous Rocket Passes, but as you probably might have guessed, I didn't get into the game until just recently. orz

Oh well, at least we'll get the batmobiles if they ever drop in Fortnite...
