In "Taxi Driver," Travis Bickle, a Vietnam veteran, symbolizes alienation and loneliness in a decaying city. His spiral of violence reflects his frustration and a distorted view of justice. The film criticizes the corruption and inequality of urban life, while exploring the protagonist's descent into madness. In the end, it proposes a deep reflection on society and the human psyche.

Balconies at Park View House in Camden, London
Park View House was formerly known as Cecil Rhodes House until 2021 when it was officially renamed Park View House. Before that, in the 1980s, there had been an attempt to rename it Robert Mugabe House. The lesson here is that it is probably safer for a local authority not to name a building after a person.

HELL YEAH, MY TASTE IN MEN IS JUST AAAAAAA 💥💥💥 (my taste in women is even better-) (I like wayyy more but these are my main ones hehe)
(Also, I do not like Ye as a person since he’s a piece of shit and even as a massive fan of his music I’m refusing to listen to Vultures 1 & 2 since you can not separate these albums from his actions, however in the 2000s…my god he was fineeeee)

The dynamic between Uncle Ruckus and Jazmine has always been interesting to me.
Tumblr media
As many of you fans of the show know, Ruckus is a self hating character who claims to have reverse vitiligo. This lie is told to him by his mother, who also had self hatred issues.
Because of the lies he is fed to by his mom, as well as the abuse he faced by his father, Ruckus grows to have a strong disdain for black folks/people of color. He identifies himself as white, and has been seen on screen praising white folks, no matter what the circumstances are.
Tumblr media
We are fully aware that he despises both Huey and Riley, and has no problem calling them out of their names. He also saw no issues in making them sacrificial lambs to the prisoners in the episode “A Date With The Booty Warrior,” saying they can do whatever they want with those “gorilla chimps”. He also abandoned them and took the white children to escape the prison, although they were all in the Scared Straight program for the same reason. Tom, out of all people, had to go rescue them.
Tumblr media
Huey and Riley weren’t angels, but it was messed up that Ruckus was willing to put them in harms way with the prisoners, especially given their ages. Luckily, the prisoners had morals, (somewhat) and the one that befriends Huey put his foot down by saying that neither he nor the others were going to hurt any of the kids, including the boys.
With that said, he is seen to show a slight bit of tolerance when it comes to Jazmine. He restored her belief in Christmas/Santa Claus again after he catches her crying when Riley told her there was no Santa. In another act of “kindness”, he referred to her as the “nice mixed breed girl” in “The Block Is Hot.”
While he isn’t as harsh towards her as he is with the Freeman brothers, she can still be a target of his racism. He often calls her a “mulatto” or a “half and half” instead of her actual name. When he catches Jazmine in the movie theater when her, Huey, Riley and Grandad snuck in, he was quick to snatch her up and insult her at the same time.
Tumblr media
He taunts her and Huey in the office, getting excited about how the mall manager was going to throw the book at both of them. The irony is that neither of them wanted to sneak into the movie theater, and they got caught.
When security informs Ruckus that the manager wasn’t coming because the mall was closed indefinitely, he throws a fit, wanting them to call the police or homeland security, furious that the kids and Grandad wouldn’t face consequences for going into the movies without paying.
“You mean we gonna let this African hooliganism go unpunished??”
Tumblr media
Even in the unreleased pilot episode of “The Boondocks,” there was a scene where the children are waiting for the school bus. He let the white kids get on, and he does let Jazmine step aboard. However, he doesn’t appear to be too thrilled about it, and made a backhanded comment about how pretty she was, but she needed to straighten her hair.
Tumblr media
Like I mentioned in my post about Jazmine, he even made excuses for the children bullying her, comparing her hair texture to a “wolf’s ass” and tried to paint the white boys who were teasing her as innocent.
Although their interactions with one another were far in between, these scenes of them makes it clear to me that Ruckus wasn’t too fond of her either. His animosity for people of color was so intense, not even she could escape from his wrath.
It shows that a lot of people are anti black, and would still view those who are mixed race as being below them.
