i binge watched rio/rio2/zambezia just to go and draw some mcytbirds *giggles* next is Scar n Cub and Team Rancher!!

i enjoyed rio but i always felt like blu and jewel's relationship was such a nothing romance, and while i never saw rio2 in full i watched enough clips to get the gist and considered roberto to be a much more appropriate parter for jewel.

idk if anyone else had a similar idea (ive seen people talking about rio here but i havent scrolled that far back) but i had an idea once where the plots of the two movies basically got smushed together, where jewel and roberto were already romantically involved before she got kidnapped, and blu is helping her reunite with him while also learning a bit of self confidence. in the end, jewel and roberto consider blu a trusted friend (and a surrogate weird uncle figure to their future kids) and blu and his owner stay in rio at the sanctuary with blu acting as an ambassador captivity bird for his species.

Ooh, I really like that idea, that's adorable! And it's true, whatever Blu and Jewel did or didn't have in the first movie, it's blown to pieces by the second movie. They're just too different, too unhappy in each other's worlds, and most importantly, they deeply and fundamentally disagree on how to raise their kids.

Also, the dream sequence in the second movie was originally Jewel and Roberto, and even if it was just a dream sequence Blu has of being cucked, they're actually pretty damn adorable.

At least 2 of the old gang is dead (damián and the guy who is rio2). keila is alive, i think, but never communicated with andrés after their divorce (i would be really surprised if she wasn't his wife). cameron and carpe diem guy just got bored and went on their way, maybe don't even remember andrés lol.

I want Rio 2.0 to die so badly, not because I have anything against the character or actor but because it's the only logical explanation for why he's not in canon asdfasdf

Keila ghosting Andres makes sense if they ever married lol. They made Damian look so old he's probably meant to die of old age during the show. As for Cameron and Bruce, zero idea- like you said, anon, maybe they truly just got bored and forgot about Andres LOL
