☆Worlds apart ☆

Art trade I did of Yori and rinzler fighting in the arena for one of @solar-siren chapter in her recent fic! ^^ it was so fun making this for you dude especially when drawing Yori, I had a blast XD

Anyways y'all should go read her fanfic, I know damn well it's amazing! ^^

This is so Rinzler/Yori to me. “I know I’m searching for you/someone and the reason has been lost to me but I’m incomplete without you, why won’t you answer?”

It’s even better as apparently this is a rock opera/story based album to do with mindcontrol? Hello?

It also fits so thematically with my definitive Tron/Yori song (modern love is automatic) as part two after everything that happened. Mwah. Point is I’m never not thinking about them

I love how in the 1982 Tron deleted scenes featurette, the director and associate producer are talking about the love scene between Tron and Yori that got cut, and how they really regret leaving it out, and they're both like "Yeah, it was such a lovely scene, it helped with world building and it fleshed out the characters a lot more. It was sensual, creative, visually beautiful, and a bit sexy. We really should have left it in."

And meanwhile Bruce Boxleitner is like: "WHY ARE THE COMPUTER PROGRAMS FUCKING"

“Unauthorized activity on Game Grid. Now releasing Rinzler.”

The crowd explodes in a frenzy of cheers at the mention of a named contestant. The others have only been numbers. Screams of “Rinzler! Rinzler! Rinzler!” shake the stadium.

“That can’t be good,” Yori mutters.

A doorway appears from the wall nanos later. A lone program slips out of the darkness.

A sense of wrongness overtakes her at the sight of him. She’s not sure how else to describe it.

Rinzler is like a negative of an image. A void shaped like a program. His shell carries scant pinpricks of light, burning red. His mask is a mirror, so programs can see their own faces looking back at them. Like they’re attacking themselves. Aside from that, he’s a shadow.

How Flynn really recognizes Tron was Rinzler...

Flynn: it Tron!

Quorra: how can you be sure?

Flynn: only one way to find out.

Flynn ( yells in the loudest way possible) is that Flynn hitting on Yori over there!!

Rinzler: ( gets more angry visually and may or May not look like he's gonna kill a man)

Flynn : Tron buddy it is you!

Had a great convention at Vic Freak in Vic, Barcelona, Spain this weekend! I turned several of my Yori: Hidden artworks into postcards and I think they ended up looking pretty nice!

I also made a couple of additional postcards of some art I did of LadyDevimon from Digimon and an older Mass Effect piece of Garrus Vakarian.

I created some A4 prints especially for the con of Bulma from Dragon Ball (an Akira homage) and The Ghoul / Coop from the Fallout TV series. These were very fun to make!

Lastly, I revised some old art of mine that I still like of Jun from Gatchaman / Battle of the Planets and Hyoga and Seiya from Saint Seiya / Knights of the Zodiac.

18. does your muse suffer from nightmares? how often? what about?

22. looking back, what is one thing your muse wishes they had done differently? 

18: yes!! dreams and nightmares work a bit differently for programs then they do for users, so they generally aren’t very common but when rinzler does have them they are typically related to his imprisonment in the encom system and past moments on the grid both before and after his repurposing

19: the memories of programs he’d cared about, specifically yori ☹️ with my rinzler most of his memories aren’t deleted pre say they are just barred from him, so while they can’t consciously influence him they can do so subconsciously so every once in awhile he’ll see or do something that reminds him of people he’d cared about and while he doesn’t know the reason it still hurts

20: that he isn’t a pet or a weapon. he’s a person!!! rinzler is widely dehumanized both in his personal life and by the grids citizens at large and while he has internalized that message for the most part there is this one tiny part of him that rebels against it, but he’s not about to disagree with clu about it. if clu says he’s a weapon and treats him like one then that’s what he is, clearly him thinking differently is just another glitch in his programming

21: very very hard 😬 rinzler has this mindset where he p much thinks the worlds out to get him, that everyone is just waiting for a reason or opportunity to hurt him in some way and if he lets someone get close they’ll turn against him or try to use him for their own gain. he can’t conceptualize a world where ppl might do things or act a certain way b/c they want to help him, everything is done with an ulterior motive

22: the events that lead to his repurposing are a big regret for rinzler even though he doesn’t remember them. in his mind he’d needed to be repurposed because of his own failing, had he not caused problems or fought against clu’s rule then he wouldn’t have had to repurpose him, wouldn’t have had to damage him and be stuck with an enforcer who could’ve been perfect and instead is always falling short

Ok so Queensrÿche’s Breaking the silence is definitely the definitive Rinzler/Yori song for me but consider… Yori’s perspective

You think you can hurt me? My favorite character in the TRON franchise is Tron.

Feeling tired. Posting a preview because that's the only thing that brings me joy.

I'm not sure if this scene will ever happen, but the image and implication is just too hot.

SPOILERS FOR THE WE WRITE OURSELVES SERIES.

Pairing: Rinzler/Sam, with bonus Tron!

“I admire you, you know.” 

Rinzler bristled at the familiar voice–his own voice, but smoother, kinder, more appealing to–

He cut off that line of processing before it could complete and turned his head enough to glare over his shoulder at the tall program glowing in white and blue behind him. “What is there to admire?” he growled.

Tron smiled softly and seemed to take Rinzler’s response as an invitation to step closer, crossing the deck of the solar sail to join Rinzler at the rail. He leaned back on his elbows, at ease in a way that Rinzler had forgotten to be. “Everything.” His blue eyes, warm as two pools of energy, flickered as he looked Rinzler over.

Recognizing the probing gaze of a security program running a threat assessment, Rinzler tensed. Did Tron want another fight? Because, as Sam would say, he could fucking bring it.

But Tron only shook his head, his smile never weakening. “You're amazing. You rebuilt yourself. You changed. You became something new. Something that even a User…” He trailed off, his mouth twisting. 

“You could do it, too,” Rinzler offered grudgingly. “We have the same programming.”

“I don't know that we do anymore.” Tron considered him for a long moment before continuing, “I thought you were broken and dangerous when we first met, but now I know that's not true.”

“I'm very dangerous,” Rinzler countered, straightening.

A startled laugh burst from Tron. He raised a hand, waving Rinzler down. “That's not what I meant. Yes, you're incredibly dangerous, but not to this system or to Users.” His laughter faded and he sighed. “I guess I'm not saying this very well. I admire you and I want to be your friend. All right? I think you're a powerful ally, I think I could learn from you, and I believe that, at our cores, we still value the same thing.”

Unable to resist, Rinzler glanced toward the solar sail’s lower decks, where Sam was working on the corrupted data pushers with Yori. When he looked back, Tron nodded.

“Yeah,” Tron murmured. “We have no reason to fight each other. Agreed?” He extended a hand.

Rinzler stared at it. Could he really trust this program? This better, purer, unbroken version of himself? This program who Sam had admired since he was a child?

He didn't want to. The sight of Sam in Tron’s arms had been scorched into his memory files. But… he could change. That was his greatest strength. That was how he had been able to break free from the Grid and stay by Sam's side, no matter which world they were thrown into. 

Slowly, he clasped Tron’s offered hand. Tron's white glove contrasted sharply against Rinzler’s black and his broad, joyful grin shone so brightly that it was difficult to look at. 

Without releasing him, Tron abruptly stepped in and raised his other hand to Rinzler’s face. Rinzler caught his wrist before he made contact and scowled.

Tron huffed another gentle laugh. “Sorry, I keep forgetting that other systems have different traditions. Flynn taught this to us a long time ago. We're friends now, so…” He leaned in.

As his face–that near mirror-image–approached Rinzler’s, Rinzler froze, unable to extricate his hands to stop Tron from closing the space between them, and unwilling to retreat from a program who had once been a rival. He watched in confusion as Tron's eyelids slid low and he tilted his head to touch his lips to Rinzler’s mouth. The soft pressure nearly shorted Rinzler’s logic codes, it was so impossible. His lips moved automatically for a moment as he struggled to catch up, parting and pushing back against Tron's soft kiss.

“Holy shit.”

Sam's exclamation brought their heads around. The User stood at the stairs to the lower decks, his eyes wide.

“Sam,” Tron greeted warmly. “Were you able to remove the corruption–”

“D-don't talk to me about corruption after you were just kissing my boyfriend!” 

The strains of jealousy and arousal in Sam's voice triggered a reflexive response to take advantage of a new weakness. Rinzler dropped Tron's wrist and grabbed his head to drag him in for a deeper, longer kiss. Tron grabbed his arm, but didn't stop him, and met Rinzler’s hard lips and lapping tongue with a soft groan and gentle suction.

“Shit,” Sam breathed.

Rinzler broke away, smirking in satisfaction at Sam's flushed face and glazed eyes. “It's the tradition in this system,” he explained. “We're friends now.”

“Okay, great,” Sam croaked. “Can we go be friends down below? There's a free room.”

Rinzler regarded Tron speculatively. “Do you still want to learn from me?”

Tron nodded. “I do.”

“Do you want to learn the ways of Users?”

“What ways?”

“Uh,” Sam uttered. “Rinzler?”

Rinzler ignored him, his attention fixed on Tron. “The ways between them,” he explained carefully. “How they share themselves with those they care for. How they give each other–”

“Rinzler, I was joking.”

“Pleasure,” Rinzler finished.

“I do,” Tron repeated fervently.

“It's not like linking with another program,” Rinzler warned. “Users are pure energy, pure power. The intensity is… overwhelming.”

Tron's eyes widened. He looked to Sam, whose face had reddened to an alarming degree.

“You can't be serious right now,” Sam wheezed.

some fun facts and details in this drawing:

• The gold lines hanging around CLU's head is the same line lights from his helmet/visor. Resembling it to a crown, hence a king

• Whilst Kevin has a halo behind his head, resembling to a god or deity

• Tron's "T" being in the inner disc (a weapon and a brain in Tron) whilst being held by both the hands of a higher hierarchy, a king and a god. Symbolizing him as the warrior.

• Kevin himself doesn't have pixelated details like Tron and CLU cus he's not a program, he's a human, a user.

• each character represents time, timeline, and design of timeline.

•"to lie at, to lie near" is adagio in Latin, and with the Tron legacy soundtrack "adagio for Tron" it sorta in a way metaphors trons wants (to lie at = Kevin) and trons need (to lie near = clu)

• TRANS TRON! TRONS TOP SCARS!! TRANS TRON SPOTTED!! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

• The whole drawing is about Tron how he is and how he'll become as a character: (long ramble)

Tron being the only one with open eyes is my metaphor of "for what he has seen and what he will see". Kevin's eye being drawn but closed is Tron still clinging to the past on his back but missing it (as if like he wishes to go back to the encom system with his friends and yori b4 Flynn arrived) whilst CLU's eye being covered by shadow is what dark turn will come upon him in the future (the betrayal of CLU, Flynn's absence, the scars he got, and becoming rinzler) BUT, also that Tron no longer recognize CLU (hence can't see the eyes).

The disc being CLU's but also in the hands of Kevin is their own portrayed betrayal to Tron. CLU's being to repurpose Tron to becoming rinzler, changing him to a weapon, using him against flynn (since it's CLU's disc, it's all mostly CLU's damage).

Kevin's betrayal was creating CLU, since he can't be at two places at the same time he needed someone to take his place while he takes care of things in the real world (encom and sam), his absence is what causes CLU to become the way he is and tron's demise. But it's also how Kevin took Tron from the encom system and moved him to the grid, kinda like taking him away from his home, from yori. (Kevin's hand holding CLU's disc. he basically doomed Tron by creating CLU and moving him to the grid. The fall of Tron within Kevin's hands).

Edit: Forgot to add. The kiss from CLU to Tron is CLU's victory after finally claiming Tron to his side (rinzler).

You know one of my favorites piece of Tron Madea is the manga Tron: atonement

I think it is a beautiful story of Tron having to deal with his gillt with what he did as the rinzler and having to find himself again after the events of legacy.

It's like a battle shonen if anyone is wondering and the fight are fantastic

The art is fantastic with beautiful backgrounds and characters designs ( they drew Tron so fine ���)

The seen in the argon ark were Tron reunites with Beck. With Beck not fully trusting Tron and is skeceptical that Tron has fully broken free from clus control. especially what Beck seen what the horrors Tron has done as the rinzler ( Even though in the deepest part of his heart he still Hoped that the Tron he knew was still there,)and Tron realize that beck wasn't the same apprentice he last seen. This is a Beck that has seen the horrors of war and blaming himself for dragging beck into the war and causing beck sofering. I really like the father and son moment after they both defeated general pavil and both deciding to move on and forgive. I also love it when beck decideds that he's going to help Tron on his journey and stays in the cast.( The joke that Tron makes that beck is like a bug that he still needs to teach. For some reason it was really funny to me)

And don't get me started In the Encom ark when Tron is reunited with Yori for the first time in a long time. The way they both looked at each other. Both seeing the other has changed a lot over the many cycles since they were apart but at the same time looking at each other with sad loving eyes. The way Yori put her hand on Trons face rubbing his scar with her thumb and telling Tron with a smile" your still has handsome as ever." And Tron leaning in to her hand and looking at her one eye and saying " and your still the most beautiful program that has ever rez." ( Kill me please(⁠༎ຶ⁠ ⁠෴⁠ ⁠༎ຶ⁠))

This manga also bless us with Sam and Beck geeking out over motorcycles and cars together.

I also think this manga for exploring the father and son relationship between Sam and Alan.
