A long overdue casualty review

HI ALL! Happy new year everyone! Oh my gosh I'm sorry this took so long to post but I am writing my first casualty review of 2024 (even though I watched it like 3 or 4 days ago?) Okay so first thoughts:

It's good to see everyone again after so long but holy crap that opening. Seeing all the ambulances and backlogs etc, just goes to show how much strain is put on the NHS. Kudos to nurses and doctors that work so hard every day.

As soon as Irene started talking about her son's temper I was like oooooh shit. Could deffo see that guy kicking off.

Rash's dad being transferred without word was sad, but seriously Rash you need to look after yourself. He tried before, and I hope he doesn't get overworked with looking after him.

RYAN. Okay I need a longer thing for this. I always had some hope deep down for Ryan to flourish as a nurse, and that violent scene killed me. I could barely watch it. But shit like that does happen, so good on the BBC for actually depicting that.

I also see Ryan potentially having an Al storyline (for those of you that watch doctors) and for those that don't, Al was attacked and hasn't really recovered from it. He's become isolated and terrified, so I hope we see some big support for Ryan's recovery.

I'm just holding out love for Rida, Jodie and of course Cam to be there for their friend.

Would anyone actually read a sick fic of Cam taking care of Ryan? No? Okay yeah, that's just me lmao.

Ohh I've definitely not warmed to Rida but she hasn't annoyed me yet 😂

But I'm not a fan of Jan to be honest, I find her quite short-tempered, selfish and uncaring to other people's feelings sometimes - especially towards Ffion 😢

Okay soooo this episode was nice, kinda like a settling down one for me I found idk if that's just me buttt yeah:

Firstly, absolutely hated that hockey guy's dad, I could literally hear that he was about to say something homophobic before he did so ew, hate him. Max being sensitive and sweet was unexpected but adorable so props to him.

Iannnnnn omg my Ian review this week. Ian needs to have someone that truly cherishes him, and FAITH IS NOT THAT PERSON. That voicemail was excruciating bc he was apologizing for having feelings and saying it's not her problem. Like she does not care, lets give Ian some love y'all!

Sah getting their top surgery was an amazing addition to this episodeeeee, and I've gone back to Sah and Teddy frienship supremacy but still lowkey shipping them!

My weekly GET FAITH OUT POST lmao.

CAM AND JODIEEEEE! YES, YES YES. AND THE FACT THEY WILL BE ROOMMATES IS AMAZINGGGGG. Please let them be a couple, please! Or at least adorable besties as they are w Ryan and Rida!

And again, KUDOS TO CAM AS I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

Lastly, CHARLIE IS LEAVING AHHHHHH. I started watching the old casualty's with him right at the beginning and seeing Duffy honestly kills me. But cannot wait for his last episodes! Drama incoming!
