Thedas Tuesday
Since I am a coward who doesn't want to create any more character information that could be contradicted by the game (at least, not until I've played the game), I've decided that for the foreseeable future I'm gonna use Thedas Tuesday to develop the worldstate for my first playthrough with Hissera. Most of it will probably end up headcanon, as I doubt the character creator will be as thorough as the Keep, which itself only factored in decisions potentially relevant to Inquisition (?). Even so, it's "established" headcanon, as all of it will be based on what was possible in the games.
Today we'll be going very broad, looking at some of the biggest choices in each of the three games. Since all of my PCs will be women, I'm gonna tag it as the "Girls Get It Done" worldstate. IYKYK.
Heroes
Petronella Aeducan (Reaver)
Ariel Hawke (Duelist)
Rhona Lavellan (Knight-Enchanter)
Worldstate information below the cut.
Dragon Age: Origins
Petronella Aeducan
My very first Warden, long lost to the annals of time and cyberspace, was a dwarf noble who used the default name Sereda, so it feels fitting that this worldstate be inspired by the default dwarf noble-focused worldstate that players can choose at the beginning of Dragon Age II: "No Compromise". In this worldstate, her name is Petronella, and she was very much forced into the role of leadership against her will. She didn't want the throne, even as Bhelan tried to unsubtly nudge her toward making a powerplay against Trian, and she certainly didn't want to be in charge of the Wardens' entire campaign against the Blight in Ferelden, but Alistair deferred to her pretty much from the start.
First, the most important decision: Petronella cured the Mabari, of course. She named him Wolf, inspired by the blighted surface wolves she had encountered during the expedition to Aeducan Thaig; they had been the first surface creatures she had ever seen up close.
Petronella did not romance anybody.
In The Arl of Redcliffe, she stayed and fought alongside the villagers, then in the castle she was persuaded to spare Connor and go to the Circle of Magi for help. Connor's life was ultimately saved by Wynne being sent into the Fade to fight the desire demon.
In Broken Circle, she saved the mages, including First Enchanter Irving.
In the Urn of Sacred Ashes, she desecrated the ashes in exchange for the knowledge of how to become a reaver. Leliana died trying to kill her, and Wynne abandoned the party when she learned what had happened.
In Nature of the Beast, she brokered peace between the elves and the werewolves.
In A Paragon of Her Kind, she destroyed the Anvil of the Void and crowned Bhelan (after supporting Harrowmont early on).
In The Landsmeet, she allied with Anora and recruited Loghain, which cost her Alistair as an ally. She convinced Anora to not execute him.
When she was told about the Dark Ritual, she rejected Morrigan's offer, and Morrigan left as well.
In The Battle of Denerim, Loghain sacrificed himself and killed Archdemon.
Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening
In the Depths of Depravity, the Architect was killed.
In The Assault on Amaranthine, the city of Amaranthine burned while Petronella returned to Vigil's Keep to repel the darkspawn attack.
Dragon Age: Origins – Witch Hunt
In the Search of Morrigan, an incredibly embittered Petronella stabbed Morrigan.
Dragon Age II
Ariel Hawke
My first Hawke was a man. I don't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure he was a Diplomatic/Blue Hawke, and I do remember that he romanced Isabela. Since this is the Girls Get It Done worldstate, some changes will obviously need to be made. Ariel Hawke is a devout Andrastian, though like her friend Varric, she doesn't have a very high opinion of the Chantry as an institution. She believes strongly in the need for Circle reforms, in greater freedoms for mages, though not the outright eradication of the Circles.
Ariel ended up in a rivalry romance with Sebastian Vael.
At the end of the Prologue, Ariel joined the smugglers because she thought they could get more work for Bethany.
When the time came for The Deep Roads Expedition, Ariel was convinced by their mother to leave Bethany behind, leading to Bethany being taken to the Circle of Magi.
In Following the Qun, Ariel did not side with Mother Petrice.
In Legacy, Ariel ultimately sided with Janeka after learning that Larius threatened her father.
In Demands of the Qun, Isabela returned with the Tome of Koslun, and Ariel fought and killed the Arishok to protect her.
In Best Served Cold, Ariel handed the conspirators over to Orsino.
In The Last Straw, Ariel executed Anders, and sided with the mages.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Rhona Lavellan
My first Inquisitor was Lavellan, pretty sure with the default name Ellana. Of my three heroes, Inquisitor Rhona Lavellan is closest to her actually played equivalent. She is the Second of Keeper Deshanna Istimaethoriel, and in the course of her time serving as Inquisitor, she learned the way of the Knight-Enchanter due to the similarities to the arcane warriors of her clan's histories.
With the help of all three of her advisors, Clan Lavellan survived the machinations of the Elder One, and Keeper Deshanna was installed as an elven representative on the new Wycome City Council.
Rhona romanced Sera, though their relationship ultimately fell apart due to differences in opinion over the existence of the elven gods.
In The Wrath of Heaven, and in fact throughout her time as the Inquisitor, Rhona resolutely denied being the Herald of Andraste.
During the events of In Hushed Whispers, Rhona allied with the mages.
In Here Lies the Abyss, Warden Stroud made a noble sacrifice in the Fade to distract Nightmare, and Rhona encouraged the Grey Wardens to rebuild.
In Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, Empress Celene was assassinated, Grand Duchess Florianne was killed, and Gaspard was installed as a puppet for Briala to rule through
In What Pride Had Wrought, Rhona respected the templar traditions, allied with the sentinels, and was ultimately the one who drank from the Well of Sorrows.
After averting Doom Upon All the World, Rhona's influence led to Leliana being elected as Divine Victoria.
Dragon Age: Inquisition – The Descent
In The Descent, Rhona travelled into the Deep Roads to uncover the source of earthquakes, and discovered the Titan.
Dragon Age: Inquisition – Jaws of Haakon
In Ameridan's End, Rhona met the last Inquisitor, and revealed the truth about his elven heritage to the world.
Dragon Age: Inquisition – Trespasser
In Trespasser, Rhona told Solas she would find a way to change his mind, and disbanded the Inquisition.

Varric, while being interrogated: And Hawke walked up to the arguing Knight-Commander and First-Enchanter and stated "You all are bitches."
Cass: [scoffs] I highly doubt the Champion would blatantly disrespect them like that.
Varric: eeehhhhh, you would be wrong.
》During inquisition, Delaney joins Rhona in a War meeting《
Delaney: Honestly, the Empress and Duke sound like self-righteous bitches.
Rhona: I know! Let's just toss them both through a fade rift.
Cassandra: Unbelievable
Varric: I wasn't exaggerating, Seeker.

An Incomplete Timeline of Stranatir
OK, despite the tag this is more of a reference document than a story; I mentioned once that I have a timeline drawn up to help keep when all my stories happen straight in my head. I update it periodically when I have new stuff to add, but this is what I have sorted out so far.
AI = ‘Anno imperii’, ‘in the Year of the Empire’ (I hope). Previous years are ‘BE’, ‘Before the Empire’, as ‘ante imperium’ would lead to confusion.
AI   1          Raan the Conqueror, chieftain of the Bear Tribe of Raan’s Fort (‘Ki-Raan’), finishes his campaign to unite the scattered Kargvallen (the ‘Jagged Lands’, an old name for the Kiraani Hills) tribes into a single nation; traditionally considered the founding of the Kiraani Empire. Things kind of escalate from there.
1409    Schism of the Balaurin; the expansionist ‘Sky Kings’ led by Voice of the Mountain travel from the Dragon’s Teeth to the Eastern Highlands and enslave the orcs. I guess they thought it would be easier than trying to conquer the Kiraani, as the orcs had yet to invent ballistae.
1420    Approximate beginning of the Raiding Period – an era in Sea Loch history characterised by warfare and raiding between the people of the different lochs, each under the leadership of a different local monarch. Vikings, basically. Kiraan glances in their direction and decides to let things settle down over there before attempting anything.
1740    Traditionally considered the end of the Raiding Period, with the unification of the Sea Lochs under High King Fergus. Local monarchs keep their titles but swear fealty to the High King.
2109    The Sea Loch Country and the Hawk Steppes are annexed into the Kiraani Empire; the Emperor adds ‘High King’ and ‘Great Khan’ to his list of titles. The nation of Stormhaven is founded when a slave ship runs aground on the coast and Queen Eleri the First (just Eleri at that point) masterminds the escape. On the other side of the continent, Ikara the Black leads the orcs (who have now invented ballistae, and have also worked out a few useful things about ‘blast pulp’) in the Last Revolt against the Sky Kings; Voice of the Mountain and all other dragons in the Eastern Highlands (save one) are slain. Some of the Sky Kings successfully escape the mountains and join communities in the lowlands to the west, but most are killed with the dragons.
2214    The Devourer appears at Eyrie Spire and begins consuming magic for miles around. To date no one is completely sure what it really was (not even me!). Almost all dragons die in the event, leaving only a handful of survivors and unhatched eggs; Balaurin civilisation collapses without them. Most human survivors quietly integrate into the Mammoth People on the ice fields to the north or Kiraan south of the mountains and a few remain in the mountains with most of the surviving  dragons, but some become more belligerent. The Balaurin mage Morath (known to Stormhaven as the Harbinger) and her dragon Dark Shadow over the Frozen Land (‘Shadow’) come to Stormhaven in warning and are slain in battle against an invading Balaurin faction.
2696    Crown Prince Zarannon of Kiraan (‘Zar’, and believe it or not that was not an intentional pun on ‘Tsar’) is born to Emperor Kaial III and Imperial Consort Aysel Darehyin Yaigani.
2702    Lorna, an eighteen-year-old girl of the Sea People, becomes disillusioned with the violent culture of her remote island birthplace and steals a boat to defect to the mainland. She is caught in a storm on the way and washes up on a beach in the Sea Loch Country, where she is taken in by Bruide MacDovran, his wife Morag, and their son Euan (also eighteen). Although she’s unofficially adopted into the family, her relationship with Euan is very much not that of brother and sister.
2710    26th Voynithi/March – Roan is born to Lorna and Euan, and orphaned by raiders a couple of months later; she is then raised by her widowed grandfather Bruide, who cannot bear to keep using NicEuan as her patronymic and changes it to NicBruide, the name she will bear for the rest of her life.
2711    15th of Sirakithi/January – Fayn reyth Aren is born. The village priest views her albinism as a terrible omen and insists that they leave her in the forest to die. Her parents Aren and Kayun can’t completely overrule him, but manage to talk him down to allowing her to live just outside the village boundaries in the care of her eldest sister Una. Una does a pretty good job, all things considered, and is probably the biggest reason Fayn had both the skills to survive alone and the ability to eventually return to civilisation.
8th of Rivedi/July – Asta zeDamar is born. There’s not really anything more interesting to say about that part of her life; she has a fairly happy and nondescript middle-class upbringing up until the point everything goes horribly wrong for her.
16th of Messis/September – Wygar Smith is born, and left at a Stormhaven orphanage by his biological parents Wyatt and Irwen (no surname) two days later. Nicholas and Mari Smith adopt him after a month in the orphanage; he doesn’t remember it, but once he’s financially capable of it he makes regular donations to the orphanage.
2716    Nirali is born. (cradle name: ‘Blue Eyes’) Unlike Fayn’s experience, her albinism is noted as unusual and her parents are advised to be careful with sun exposure, but it otherwise has no effect on her upbringing. Her eccentricities are entirely her own.
2717    Emperor Kaial orders the genocide of the Falkari people out of paranoia; only Fayn survives. Zar, horrified, cuts all ties to his father not strictly related to his duties as Crown Prince and immediately starts planning what he’ll do to try and atone for it once he takes the throne. Stormhaven declares war shortly after the massacre.
2719    The Darkwald War ends with the signing of Treaty of Harbinger Pass; nobody can really be said to have conclusively won or lost but hostilities between Stormhaven and the Empire are officially over. Unofficially, Stormhaven is not totally convinced, so the Harbinger Gate is constructed to block the pass. The Darkwald as far south as the Stone River is designated an official buffer zone between Stormhaven and the Empire. People can still pass through from one to the other but the only activity allowed within the zone is services for travellers on the Great Darkwald Road, such as roadside campsites and the village of Halfway.
2723    Wygar begins his apprenticeship at the Stormhaven College of Sorcery alongside Calburn, Rhona and the rest of their yearmates.
2726    Karash is born. (cradle name: ‘Honey’)
2731    Roan graduates from the University of Duncraig following the death of her grandfather earlier in the year and begins working in a bank.
2732    Asta graduates from the Imperial University of Kiraan. Her parents are killed in an accident; she sells herself into slavery to cover their considerable debts (in Nivalis/December) and is purchased by Lady Fiona MacArra as a secretary. Fiona initially offers her freedom but Asta declines on the grounds that she would just be out on the street. Instead she agrees to stay with Fiona for five years or until Fiona’s death, whichever comes soonest. Roan decides she hates working in a bank, resigns, and moves to Dun Ardech to live, as Asta put it, as a semi-feral sea witch. Nirali begins training as a Memory-Singer.
2736    Voynithi: Wygar and his yearmates leave the College for the traditional journeying year.
2737    Events of The Last Shapeshifter and most of Water Horses.
Voynithi: Wygar returns from his journeying year and meets Fayn in the Darkwald, where she’s been living a mostly feral existence since the Falkari genocide. She accompanies him back to Stormhaven and adjusts surprisingly well.
Gracilis/November: Wygar and Fayn marry. They acknowledge that this is pretty soon but it works for them. Death of Lady Fiona MacArra.
Nivalis: Asta’s manumission in Fiona’s will is overruled and her ownership passes to Lord Darius ‘Daro’ MacArra, Fiona’s grandson, who has had his eye on her since she first came to Duncraig. Asta escapes from Castle MacArra (not unscathed) and flees to Dun Ardech, where she meets Roan.
2738    Sirakithi: Daro kidnaps Asta from Dun Ardech with the help of his guards and a hired crew; Roan kills him and rescues her. Asta travels to Stormhaven aboard the merchant ship Curlew at Roan’s insistence and finds work in the College’s admin office.
Nivalis: Wygar and Fayn travel to the Northern Forest at Zar’s request to investigate a spate of mysterious disappearances there. Events of The Northern Forest.
2739    Nivalis: Death (from old age) of Emperor Kaial; Zar ascends the Imperial throne to become Emperor Zarannon IV, with his coronation held on the winter solstice. Wygar and Fayn attend with the Stormhaven delegation. Events of To Kiraan. Aysel leaves the Imperial City and returns home to the Hawk Steppes.
2740    Sirakithi: Under Zar’s new Protection of Slaves Act, Clan MacArra are arrested and imprisoned for their horrific abuse of their slaves. Now that it’s safe for her to do so, Asta returns to Dun Ardech to live with Roan. Specifically on the 7th.
12th of Rivedi: Una Falkari Smith is born. Calburn and Rhona travel to the Hawk Steppes and travel with a band of Yaigan nomads for a while. Events of The Hawk Steppes.
Gracilis: Wygar and Fayn travel to the Darkwald for Una’s naming ceremony.
2742    Ikara is born. (Cradle name: ‘Little Red’) Karash begins training as a Memory-Singer.
2744    Torsani/June: Karash and Ikara are orphaned in the Fever Summer. Karash takes on parental duties for his infant half-sister; juggling his training with raising her is difficult, but he manages.
                 Nivalis: Asta and Roan marry.
2746    Wygar reconnects with his biological family, somewhat by accident. He never really comes to think of Wyatt and Irwen as his parents, but he remains on cordial terms with them and Una does consider them her grandparents.
2748    Wygar, Calburn and Rhona go missing on the far western continent and are presumed dead. Events of Centaurs of Varakai.
2749    Wygar, Calburn and Rhona make it home to Stormhaven, accompanied by the Red Sun centaur herd. The Red Suns go to live on the Hawk Steppes, where the landscape suits them a bit better. The Steppe tribes are surprised but generally roll with it.
2750    Events of The Lady of Kaltara. Wygar, Fayn and Una go on holiday to Stonehead. Fayn is kidnapped by Mara Kovar, the Lady of Kaltara, and Wygar and Una travel to rescue her.
2752    Una begins her own apprenticeship at the College.
2754    Nivalis: Roan goes missing fishing in a winter storm. Riabhach rescues her from the water and gets her safely to the island of Starwatch. Una and some other apprentices visit the Order of Night on the island and are caught up in a raid by a band of Sea People led by the warrior Svanna, the daughter of Lorna’s sister and so Roan’s first cousin unbeknownst to either of them. Events of The Island of Stars.
2756    High Master Idris Carwel retires; Wygar is promoted to take his place as head of the School of Combat. Nobody is really surprised by this.
2758    Ikara begins training as an Initiate Windkindred.
2764    Ikara bonds with the rukh Tsheer and ascends to full Windsister.
2765    Una leaves on her journeying year. She meets Bright Star in the High Cold Dark (‘Star’) in the Dragon’s Teeth, accidentally forms a permanent blood-bond with the young dragon, and is adopted by the surviving Balaurin. The Sea People invade Stormhaven in force under King Torann, but are defeated (read: their fleet is practically obliterated) by the Balaurin dragons.
2767    Events of Anchored Tempest. The Balaurin relocate from Journey’s End to Ornfell, close enough to the Sea Loch Country for much easier trade. Una and Star travel to the Eastern Highlands and encounter the orcs. Halted Flow of the River of Time (‘River’), the last survivor of the Sky Kings’ faction, is discovered guarding a cache of five hundred viable dragon eggs held in stasis. River is killed; the Balaurin transport the eggs to Ornfell for incubation.
2768    Interim between Anchored Tempest and its epilogue. Karash, Ikara and Nirali accompany Una on her journey back across the continent from the Eastern Highlands to Stormhaven, acting as something between explorers and unofficial ambassadors between the orcs and the wider world. They have a few hurdles along the way, but overall it goes well. I haven’t decided anything more specific yet.

Characters are labeled primary, secondary, and tertiary in order to indicate the amount of time and character development dedicated to them. They are available to all mutuals.
primary muses will get the majority of development and attention, and are always available for threads, memes, and plotting;
secondary muses will get a fair amount of development and attention, and are available for threads, memes, and plotting, though replies from them will be less frequent;
tertiary muses will get less development and attention, and are available for memes and plotting, though threads will need to be plotted, and replies from them will be less frequent.
Private muses are only available for threads and plotting by request, and for memes with current partners. If you’re interested in writing with them, please feel free to ask!

My main HoF (Rhona Cousland) has always had Carn as her mabari. I don't know where I first heard the name; I just liked it. Once I eventually looked it up, it also felt fitting for the Cousland origin, and I headcanon that the irony is not lost on Rhona. She named him for the "pretty rocks" scattered throughout the highlands as a child, not realizing exactly what many of the "cairns" denoted after the Orlesian Occupation.
My main Champion (Alyn Hawke) was the first time I tried to swing with a more in-game lore name. I eventually settled on Hafter, though I've always been "meh" on the name. Figured I'd run with the "meh-ness" for story purposes, and I headcanon that Alyn let Carver name the mabari in a rare show of childhood sibling solidarity, because he was the one who found Hafter, and was genuinely upset when the puppy imprinted on her instead of him.
edit: typo
in the tags tell me what your warden and hawke named their mabari and why 👀

That comment about "Bontu's Viashino" got me thinking... There are six sapient mortal races we know of in Amonkhet: human, hawk aven, ibis aven, khenra, minotaur and naga. Of the six, only three have a god in their form: Kefnet, Hazoret and Rhonas. Not only are we missing cat- and croc-headed races (maybe they were living in separate communities when NB came knocking?), but also human-, hawk- and ram-headed gods, which may very well have been the ones that were corrupted into bug form.
I’m not sure hawk aven and ibis aven are actually two separate species, considering the general tendency of aven in Magic to vary wildly even in a single group, and that they’re not mechanically separate species, but I’ll agree that Ram and Human are two of our top contenders for original forms of our three undead gods. It’s possible that the last god was like... a fish god, and there’s straight up Merfolk out there still thriving in an ocean with no idea what’s going on.
Also, because this is based on ancient egypt, it’s possible that there’s a god that was just ALWAYS undead. Bontu is the goddess of ambition, but isn’t it a bit odd to show any pantheon anywhere that DOESN’T have a god of death? Amonkhet theology puts the dead in the realm of the God Pharoah, but shouldn’t there have been someone who was straight up the god of the dead BEFORE Bolas got in the way? Scarab God could have been the ‘true’ god of Death, before its corruption.
(On a side note, I’d really like to see a plane where we have a white-aligned God of Death, similar to Pathfinder’s Pharasma. For those not in the know, she’s an impartial judge who makes sure everyone gets exactly the afterlife they deserve, and her clerics exist primarily to help with funeral arrangements, but also regularly crusade against Undead because they’re cheating and that’s not okay. She’s fine with resurrection magic, but not anything that unnaturally extends lifespans. She’s also the goddess of birth, and sometimes has people reincarnated. Her favorite animal is the Whippoorwill. )

Thedas Tuesday
So here we are; we've done the Warden, and we've done Hawke, and now today it's time for the Inquisitor, Rhona of Clan Lavellan. As I've started previously, she's probably the closest to her in-game counterpart in terms of the first Inquisitor I played as, though I've fleshed out different relationships and incorporated different decisions into this worldstate than I did in that first playthrough. Also, I didn't do DLC companions this time, because I've only played The Descent once and I just don't really remember either of the companions from it. Assume it was a good working relationship.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do for Thedas Tuesday after today, but I'm toying with the idea of writing some drabbles or something to fill in the gaps and pass the time until 31 October.
That is neither here nor there, however. For now, let us get into Rhona's relationships with her companions and her advisors:
Cassandra Pentaghast
Although they met under rather unfortunate circumstances, and their vast theological differences were a source of conflict initially, in time Rhona's relationship with Cassandra grew into one of trust, respect, and even friendship. The real turning point for them was the revelation that Cassandra was obsessed with one of Varric's serials, something that Rhona could relate to.
Leliana
Even as Rhona denied that she was the Herald of Andraste, her compassionate and righteous nature proved a beacon for Leliana, who was struggling through a crisis of faith in the aftermath of the Divine's death. Through many conversations, Leliana became inspired by Rhona's example, and renewed her faith in the Maker while also recognising that she did not wholly like the person she had become in Justinia's service, and resolving to better herself.
Though no direct action was taken on Rhona's part, there were some who whispered that it was Leliana's friendship with the Inquisitor that led to her being elected at the new Divine. Leliana paid the gossips no mind, instead setting out to turn the Chantry into the bastion of goodwill that she had always believed it could be.
Solas
Fen'harel. The Dread Wolf. In the early days of the Inquisition, when Rhona was still acclimating to her new role – however unwanted – as the Herald of Andraste, she turned to Solas as a fellow elf for support. While she quickly came to realise her had a low opinion of the Dalish, she refused to be put off by that opinion, and instead endeavoured to change his mind. At the same time, she thoroughly enjoyed their discussions about magic, the Fade, spirits, and all sorts of other topics that Solas was knowledgeable about.
For his part, Solas was deeply troubled by Rhona's thoughtfulness and her seemingly boundless curiosity, qualities that he had not believed could survive with the Veil separating people from the Fade. Despite initial reservations, he came to regard her as a very close friend, and deeply regretted when their paths ultimately took them in different directions. When they met again two years later, this time Rhona knew him for what he was – and she surprised him once more when, instead of condemning him, she told him that she would find a way to show him a different path.
Varric Tethras
Rhona was well aware of the name "Varric Tethras" before she met him, as his serials were popular with many of the younger members of Clan Lavellan (including Rhona). She was initially rather starstruck, though it wasn't long before she started getting to know him as a person. The two of them enjoyed a cordial relationship, and Varric took on a role something like that of a fond uncle.
After he becomes viscount of Kirkwall, Varric is instrumental in forging an alliance with the Wycome council, further validating their status as a real political power in the Free Marches and providing additional protections to elves in both cities.
Josephine Montilyet
Probably the thing that surprised Rhona the most about Josephine was how willing she was to ascent to Rhona's decisions regarding the stances of the Inquisition. Despite her clearly believing, or at least hoping, that Rhona was the Herald of Andraste, she did not argue when Rhona made it clear that she would not be claiming any such title. Over time, they became very close friends, with Rhona particularly coming to respect Josephine's seemingly unflappable politeness and levelheadedness.
Cullen Rutherford
They did not get off on the right foot, particularly after Cullen suggested sending a squad to armed soldiers to meet with the Lavellan clan. Over time, however, they got to know each other better. Rhona was a bit disturbed to learn that Cullen was maintaining his duties while going through excruciating lyrium withdrawal, thinking that he should have been given leave to focus on his own health, but she reluctantly trusted Cassandra's assessment of his ability to focus on being the Inquisition's commander.
Sera
Rhona had heard the term "whirlwind romance" before, but never fully understood what it meant until she met Sera. From the very beginning, theirs was a tempestuous relationship, with frequent ups and downs as they tried to navigate their very different backgrounds, and the expectations those backgrounds informed. Sera was put off by Rhona's confidence in her Dalish heritage, while Rhona found Sera's rejection of all things "elfy" to be frustrating at the best of times.
So they stopped talking about it, and for a while that was enough. They had a lot of good days, and some truly great ones. And if the bad days hinted at something simmering beneath the surface, well, neither of them were quite ready to acknowledge it. Their feelings were fast and frantic and so, so intense, and it just felt right – right up until the day that they went to an ancient elven temple, and Rhona drank from a well that bound her to the goddess Mythal. And then all the things they hadn't talked about bubbled over. Hurtful things were said on both sides, and by the end of that day the sun had set on Rhona-and-Sera.
They both felt regret over how things ended in the years that followed, and by the time they reconnected at the Exalted Council, both had done a lot of growing. Sadly, they never quite found their way back to before.
Vivienne de Fer
There would always be points that Rhona and Vivienne would not agree on, particularly where magic and mages were concerned, but by and large the two of them got along really well. Next to Josephine, Vivienne was the one that Rhona would credit most with preparing her for dealing with the nobility of Orlais; in the same way that the Divine had her left and right hands, Rhona would occasionally like to think of the two of them as her own left and right hands, at least where the Grand Game was concerned.
For her part, Vivienne developed a deep respect for Rhona, as both a friend and as a politician. She would never admit it, not even to Rhona and certainly not to herself, but many of the choices she made in founding her own Circle of Magi after the Exalted Council were influenced by her experiences fighting and learning alongside Rhona during her time with the Inquisition.
The Iron Bull
Rhona and the Iron Bull had a really good working relationship, and one out of every four or five nights at Skyhold, you could probably count on seeing Rhona sharing a round or two with the Chargers. They're not the best of friends, but they get along well.
"Blackwall" / Thom Rainier
When they first met, Rhona was quite impressed by Rainier, both for his skills and for his values. After the revelation of his real identity, their burgeoning friendship took a hit that it never fully recovered from. As part of his sentencing, Rainier was given over to the Wardens, and Rhona did admit at the gathering of the Exalted Council that she respected his dedication to making amends.
Dorian Pavus
Few things will bond two people like being thrust into an apocalyptic future and having to fight their way back to the present. Out of all of the people she met while working with the Inquisition, Rhona would probably consider Dorian among her closest friends. Similarly to her relationship with Solas, Rhona particularly enjoyed the theoretical discussions with Dorian regarding magic and the Fade.
Cole / Compassion
Cole and Rhona share a special bond that began on the night that Haven was attacked, and strengthened throughout the many weeks and months that they travelled together all across Orlais and Ferelden. Following Solas's lead, Rhona always approached Cole as a spirit, but unlike so many among the Inquisition, she didn't see that as a bad thing. On the contrary, he offered one of the most unique perspectives of the world and the people in it, and Rhona would frequently seek him out all over Skyhold.
It was Rhona who helped Cole reconnect with Compassion, to relearn what he had forgotten. As time passed and he regained more and more of his old self, their conversations turned more and more to the Fade. The day eventually came when he simply faded from the waking world, but that was far from the last time that Rhona spoke with Compassion, and whenever they met in her dreams, he would always be in the form of the skinny, pale boy that Rhona had known.
