Daeron Targaryen, done by my sweet and amazing friend @an-abyss-of-stars who is the most gifted person ever (check out her fics too!)

Daeron Targaryen, born 114 AC, is the youngest son of King Viserys and Queen Alicent and is the milkbrother of Jace and Senya. Up until he was 6/7 and sent away, Daeron was closest with his brother Aegon who he maintained regular letters with even after he left. In his childhood Daeron would always fight with Jace and Senya and he took pleasure engaging in verbal battles with his niece- even fondly reminiscing about it when he got older. Daeron was sent to Oldtown in an attempt by Queen Alicent to have her son be more Hightower than Targaryen but Daeron did his utmost best to defy that, even going so far as to use a hint of a Valyrian accent when he spoke so as to irritate his Hightower relatives. Daeron is well up to date on all the family drama thanks to Aegon and although none of the other characters know it yet, Aegon has been complaining to Daeron about Visenya and Aemond for so many months now. Daeron laters uses this for fuel in his teasing of Visenya and he quickly picks up on why Aegon is so exasperated.

Daeron Targaryen becomes infatuated with Princess Rhaena from the moment he meets her, going so far as to try and charm her but unfortunately for him, Rhaena knows all about his acerbic tendencies and believes he is mocking her. However like his brother Aemond, Daeron is detemined and like a dashing knight he will eventually prove his love to Rhaena and win her heart

Tessarion, Daeron’s dragon who now resides on Dragonstone with the others during Daeron’s time as a ‘guest’ under Daemon’s watch.

How Nyra figured out her heir

*Rhaenyra runs into the kid's courtyard and hides behind a pillar facing from the door as her kids, uncle, and uncle's lover look up from their card game at her. Aegon, Aemond, Helaena, Daeron, Jace, Luke, Joff, Baela and Rhaena look at her with startled expressions, Daemon with a knowing one. Criston just wants to win the game and is too used to this behavior to be distracted from the cards by it.*

Rhaenyra: Who wants to be my heir?

Aemond: What?

Rhaenyra: Whoever is to be my heir needs to do me a favor.

Baela: What's the favor?

One of my mutuals has converted me into a Daeron x Rhaena stan! The fic won’t be heavily focused on them because the main focus is his relationship with his family, but this will be a good first foray into writing the ship

I don't like how my latest Daeron-centric fic is going so now I'm having to rewrite parts of it. Daeron's no longer going to be a member of the Kingsguard and I'm thinking of having him get married to either Baela or Rhaena. I just don't know which one.

Hogwarts!AU, let's go! Before I start, however, I want to clarify that most of the adults in my headcanon work at the ministry. Only Daemon, Alys, Laena, and Viserys work at the school.

Daemon is the teacher for defence because i think it'd be really funny, the students are either afraid of him or absolutely in awe of him no in between. Alys is the potions professor who sometimes tries her newest concoctions on Daemon, who seems to have a strangely high immunity to poisons. Laena is the flight instructor and former professional quidditch player because I think it'd be cool, and Viserys is the headmaster who took over after he retired as minister of magic. Rhaenyra is the new minister of magic, obviously, and Otto is forever salty about being her under secretary because I like to see him suffer.

For house placement, I'm going with the idea of what each one valued the most at the time of sorting, similar to Canon Harry Potter and I'll start with the eldest, Aegon.

Aegon is sorted into Slytherin because he didn't want to disappoint anyone. It was kinda Targaryan tradition since Aegon the First himself was sorted into said house. He absolutely does not fit the type, but he tries. He really does. Politics is just so tedious, and there is just so much more fun to be had, like flying, for example. Why should he lead the house like his mother keeps telling him to when he could just become quidditch captain one day instead.

Helaena is sorted into Hufflepuff because she does not care one bit about her mother's expectations. She loves care of magical creatures and possesses all of Scamander's books (original and signed, of course). Sure, she has a gift for divination, but she hates it and rather spends her time in the forbidden forest, despite it being, well, forbidden, and she somehow despite never having witnessed anyone die managed to befriend the Thestrals.

Aemond, like Aegon, ended up in Slytherin, too, of course, which suits him much better than his older brother. He idolises his defence professor, uncle, and former Auror Daemon Targaryan and has a slight crush on Alys Rivers, the potion professor. Though nothing trumps his obsession with his nephew, who, in a bout of accidental magic, took out his eye. Aemond himself was not completely blameless in the incident, having forced his nephew into a corner, but that knowledge does not cool his anger one bit. Though, is it really hatred that motivates his obsession? Or is it an emotion of a much more possessive nature? Whatever it is, Aemond certainly is not ready to explore it further as of now.

Jace and Baela both got sorted into Gryffindor. They and Rhaena started their time at Hogwarts at the same time, and as best friends were over joyed to be in the same house. Both brave and bold, benefiting leaders they would turn out to be some day. Unfortunately, the gossipers of wizard high society took this in Jace's case as another confirmation of his status as a bastard son, but they were silenced over time as Jace rose through the student roster and even became head boy of Hogwarts later on. Baela took after her mother and made her name as the best quidditch captain the house of Gryffindor has ever seen. Though, she did not only have a talent for quidditch but also for duelling, and she often demonstrated that skill to defend her girlfriend Helaena from bullies. Cementing quickly that messing with her would be a certain mistake. Jace himself, much to his own consternation, fell for Slytherin's seeker, who turned out to be quite different from all the mean-spirited rumours spread about him.

Rhaena was sorted, surprising absolutely no one, into Ravenclaw. While quiet and unassuming, she would one day shock everyone and become Head girl of Hogwarts. Eventually graduating with the highest honour starting a career under Unspeakable Jeyne Arryn herself. Despite her not being the troublemaker her siblings and cousins turned out to be, she was quite adept with spell work, and people out to bully her learned their lesson rather quickly.

Daeron, much like Rhaena being an often forgotten child in the mix of the Targaryan and Valeryon children, was also sorted into Ravenclaw. He even rose to the position of Ravenclaw quidditch captain and would have turned out to be the Baela's greatest obstacle in winning the inter-house quidditch cup if it wasn't for Aegon being a surprisingly competent seeker for house Slytherin.

Lucerys valuing loyalty the most gets sorted into Hufflepuff. This just pours more gasoline onto the already burning rumour mill until they witness him first throw down with his uncle Aemond, who is trying to make Lucerys' life at Hogwarts difficult. Their monthly spats become one of Hogwarts' greatest entertainments for the next few years until Aemond graduates. That is until Daemon, of all people, catches them making out in a broom closet. Not that their fights subside, but now they often end in the privacy of the Room of Requirements after Daemon got sick of trying to kill Aemond every time he caught them.

Joffrey, much like his eldest brother, would later get sorted into Gryffindor, while Aegon the Third, Viserys the Second and little Visenya would get sorted into Slytherin to cause havoc long after their elder siblings had graduated.

Ngl I really liked this episode of hotd like alys with an owl, rhaenyra bitch slapping someone, holding a sword and kissing girls. the aegon and aemond scene, alicent and gwayne talking about daeron, rhaena and joffery hanging out, baby stormcloud, addam and seasmoke, daemon being in love with his brother let them kiss please it would be better than the Alyssa scene yeah it was pretty good overall.

"This is probably one of the family dynamics I love the most that I’ve created.  I briefly mentioned that in this fic Rhaena and Daeron would get married and have children, but I never focused on them.  However, out of all the children that will appear, they are the most important and the ones who will return most often, as they will be born almost at the beginning of the story and grow over time, especially the first two, though Rhaegal, who will be born only at the end of the fic, also has an interesting conception. The first two are twins and are named Rhaenyra and Viserys.  For simplicity, they are called Nyra and Vivi by the family, and they are the very first grandchildren of Rhaenyra and Daemon.  Nyra is practically a miniature version of her aunt Baela, with a light touch of her grandmother, from whom she takes her name.  Being born a few seconds before Vivi, she is considered the older one and, for a few years, was seen as the most likely heir after Aegon III.  She is her father's favorite, who adores her and can never say no to her. Sometimes the two even dress alike. Vivi, on the other hand, is his mother's little angel, whom she adores.  Like the grandfather he’s named after, he loves sweets.  His sensitive soul makes him fall under the strong-willed nature of his sister, whom he follows in everything and is often the victim of her pranks.  Both love dogs and ponies. Rhaengal, the youngest, isn't born yet during the fic, but his presence is felt even while he's still in the womb.  In fact, unlike his siblings, he is not Daeron's son, but Addam's, though they will do everything possible to pass him off as a legitimate child.  In any case, he is deeply loved by both parents, and his two siblings adore him."

I only wrote one Rhaeon so far but it’s a modern AU I’m the slowest writer in the world but once I finish my other fics I will keep Rhaeon nation alive with fics 🙏

Everyone is allowed one and I’ve decided my ‘they literally never even meet’ HOTD/F&B crack ship is Rhaena and Daeron.

I’m really into Daeron and Rhaena in a universe where Daeron survived to be his brother’s heir and the marriage to end the war isn’t Aegon 3 and Jaehaera but Daeron and Rhaena.

And unlike Aegon 3 and Jaehaera, who were two traumatized kids in a marriage that didn’t make sense to them, it’s Daeron and Rhaena who are acutely aware of what their marriage means.

It would be tired enemies to reluctant confidants to trusted friends to lovers set to a marriage of convenience goodness.

And if in this scenario Corlys still kills Aegon because he probably would so he can finally get his blood on the Iron Throne—Daeron and Rhaena also both would be kind rulers. They were well liked, known for their charm, and would probably have been really good for Westeros together. They also both would’ve come into power they were never supposed to have. Daeron was a third son and by the Greens count fourth in line for the throne and Rhaena was never meant to be Queen, Baela had been groomed for that position. They’d be rulers for whom power fell into their laps instead of them seeking it out which we’re told makes the best kind of leaders.

Also Tessarion and Morning would be the cutest dragon friends I think.
