Ryu Number: Owen Garriott

Owen Garriott was an American astronaut who spent approximately two months in Skylab 3, taking—at the time—the shared world record for longest spaceflight (it'd be broken less than half a year later, but that's still awesome). More relevantly for us (i.e. those of us interested in Ryu Numbers), he was the father of Richard Garriott, the creator of the Ultima game series, so it's no surprise that the latter stuck a cameo of the former in Ultima II: The Revenge of the Enchantress:

It's generally accepted that each Ultima game features the same individual as protagonist—that is, that the same repeat isekaiee stars in each major installment of the series. Assuming that this is true, and that this protagonist—referred to by lore as "The Stranger" or "The Avatar"—is the same dude whichever game they're in, Owen Garriott has a Ryu Number of at most 4.

That said, early installments of the Ultima series were a bit iffy on whether the protagonist was the same individual game to game, so maybe you're iffy, too. Fair enough! You can still get a Ryu Number of at most 4 for Owen Garriott following an alternate route.

That's so Buddha!

Y/n who's secretly a cannibal becomes curious and interested on how other living beings other than cookies taste like, they then kill and eat one of every sugary animals (Gummy snakes, gummy frogs, ect.)

After Y/n ate one of every living thing that was sentient sweet food they found another living animal, it looked similar yet different from the sugary foxes they ate before. They would then kill and eat the fox, the taste of meat was new and refreshing, and they would crave for more. This would then lead to Y/n to have a bigger appetite, a crave for meat, slowly become a crazy biologist and become an engineer that's able to make very advanced technology.

This would go on until Y/n gained interest in the witches. They wanted to know how they work and what they taste like. They may die, but it would be worth it.

So they not only survived the encouter with the witch, killed the witch with no magic and with just simple contraptions and do it sucessfully on the first try, Y/n did this TWICE. The first one had her skin, fats, muscles, bones, and organs displayed, preserved and is kept in working condition by Y/n's technology to prevent them from rotting away; the second one was killed off for the sake of eating. It's at this point Y/n's hunger has become apparent and obvious to their fellow cookies, cookies who try to follow Y/n to where they eat are then reported missing. Any cookie who's invited to dinner by Y/n will see the sides of the walls have preserved body parts of animals just like the witch; they are forced fed meat then are killed to be eaten by Y/n. Did I forget to mention that the parts of the witch are behind Y/n's seat on the surgery dinner table?

If it's alright with you could we get reactions and a small scenario for each reaction that explains how they found out what Y/n's been doing behind their backs? Especially certain groups (cookies of darkness ect.) and the more powerful cookies(legendaries, dragons, ancients, and the beasts).

Brittle I HEAVILY apologize for how long this is, big ideas like this are hard for me to keep simple and short.

The grounded cookie based groups of the Ancients, CoD, and Legendaries would be horrified at the prospect. How something as simple as consuming a gummy snake would lead to something as large scale and dangerous as hunting actual witches. Dark Enchantress might take some solace that her revenge against the witches have taken some form, but the methods being very grim.

The Beasts could see and understand the darkness and evil that could come from such an act and likely show little sympathy since the witches showed them little care, Shadow Milk particularly might applaud you for your work, though Burning Spice might be stern with you for making unnecessary messes with your kills.

The Dragons probably would show the least amount of care towards the situation, as long as you weren’t after dragons at least. Ananas might be a little cagey if you ever came towards his island where their cookies resided. Maybe Pitaya or Longan could see some respect in your brutality, but Lotus finds it too hard to look at.

All she could do was watch as the ancients attacked you. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. They were supposed to attack her, but they went after you.. She swore to kill them once you get better. All she could do is sit by your bed as you lay unconscious. She stayed there just staring at you, she wouldn’t dare leave the room. All the cookies of darkness started to get more worried by the day. They worked on getting some spell or anything to wake you up but nothing ever worked.

“My dear, once you awaken we shall get revenge, together, on those that have wronged you..” She places her hand on your cold cheek. “For now, I shall stay by your side until you wake..”

Dark Enchantress stayed by your side like she said. Hours, days, months, for as long as it took she’ll be by your side till the bitter end.

Pure Vanilla

When the cookies of darkness attacked you, he lost his composure. He couldn’t stand you being hurt. Once he got to you, you were unconscious. The cookies of darkness laughed as they fled the scene. Pure Vanilla was on his kness, you in his arms, begging for you to wake up. The ancients only watched and shed a few tears. They loved you to, you were like sibling to them.

“Please.. My love.. Wake up..” Pure Vanilla said in between sobs. “They won’t get away with this, I’ll kill them if I have to..” He picked up and held you close to his chest.

Dark Cacao

He found out you were pushed off the kingdoms walls by one of the watchers. He rushed out the castle, he watched as someone was running to him with you in his arms. He was stunned, he couldn’t move, all he could do was watch. The cookie started talking to him but he couldn’t hear them. He just took you from their arms and ran to your shared bedroom. He called upon all the healers in his kingdom, he sent letters to Pure Vanilla to come and help.

After awhile, you were healed but still unconscious. No one was aloud to come in or out the kingdom, the cookie that pushed you was dealt with, and Dark Cacao was colder than before. He never had time to talk to anyone, he spent all his free time by your side. He was even more easily irritated. All the healers say your fine but why aren’t you waking up?!

“Why haven’t you woke up… You’re healed! Why haven’t you woke up yet.?” Dark Cacao said while laying next to you.

A/N: The amount of research I did on the 1600s for a single one shot is ridiculous haha so I'll probably write a pre/sequel :)

Summary: Despite the fact Goody often became lost in her quest for vengeance on Crackstone, you were always there to ground her; to pull her back to safety as she danced along the edge of sanity.

This was one of those nights.

She was a raven, destined to navigate the path of life in solitude. Therefore, she pushed those closest to her away, before they had a chance to leave on their own accord.

At first, this plan she devised worked impeccably. If she kept her distance, she would never feel the immense grief associated with the abandonment of those she loved.

Though nothing lasts forever.

Goody truly didn't understand why you felt such a strong attachment towards her. She did not believe herself to be of that much importance, yet clearly you believed otherwise. Wherever Goody was, there was no doubt you would be near. You simply could not seem to comprehend that proximity to a raven such as herself was essentially a death wish.

What she didn't know was that you understood perfectly, you just didn't care. How could you stay away, when Goody was just so entirely flawless in every way? You were physically unable.

Death would be more than worth the suffering if it meant you could hold her close tonight.

Of course she had attempted to distance herself, but no matter how hard she tried, you were always there. Admittedly, over time, her attempts to push you away faded out, until diminishing completely. If you were so desperate to be with her, then who was she to deny that?

Future agony would be more than worth the pain if it meant she could hold you close tonight.

Being a raven, Goody's mind was a swirling sea of horrific visions beneath violent, thunderous clouds created by Joseph Crackstone. Despite the constant raging storm, you infiltrated your way in and calmed the tempest. You brought her peace and tranquility, something so unusual for the psychic outcast. This was something that frequently proved itself to be essential, as although Goody often became lost in her quest for vengeance on Crackstone, you were there to ground her; to pull her back to safety as she danced along the edge of sanity. Goody was a strong and powerful enchantress: you were entirely aware of her skill in alchemy. Yet her vast knowledge, desire to succeed and extreme thirst for revenge could push her to breaking point, as she devoted her life to avenging her mother's barbaric murder. The headstrong sorceress would spend hours upon hours plotting strategies and studying dark incantations, refusing to eat, sleep or take even the smallest of breaks.

This was one of those nights.

Your legs dangled as you sat on a low beam of wood which formed the hayloft of a delapidated stable once owned by your family, watching as Goody paced and fretted in the space below you. Lying open on a pile of mildly rotten straw was her Codex Umbrarum, or Book of Shadows as you favoured. Despite Goody's insistence that the Latin name was superior, rendering the translation pointless, it stuck, and even she referred to the grimoire as such herself.

She continued to mumble beneath her breath, occasionally frantically scribbling, before once again leaping to her feet and subconsciously policing the derelict shelter. With one final swing of your feet, you pushed yourself from the low wooden beam and down to join her in the main part of the ancient shed. One of your hands reached out for Goody's, your fingers gently interlocking with hers, whilst your other one gently cupped her cheek, turning her face away from her excruciating work, barely stroking your thumb against her alabaster skin in small, comforting circles, as though she were fragile porcelain you were terrified to shatter.

"My sweet Mouse," you spoke softly, "The time is not yet right. Rest now, and I promise the night of your vengeance will soon be upon us."

Despite an overly stretched moment of visible reluctance, Goody sighed gently, and leaned in to your delicate touch, her weary eyes fluttering closed for a few (painfully short) seconds.

"I'll be alright, dearest one," she responded quietly. "I'm simply drained."

"I know, sweet Goody. You truly must rest; do not allow that evil pilgrim to rob you of your health on top of all that which he has already stolen from you, beloved."

Goody raised her spare hand and lifted it until it rested on top of yours, which was still faintly holding her cheek. She smiled at you, a sight that you adored, and you couldn't help but replicate her expression yourself.

You removed your hand from Goody's, in favour of wrapping your arm around her waist, pulling her close to you. She raised her arms, hugging them around your shoulders. The hand that still held her jaw coaxed her head towards yours, and into a soft kiss. When you retreated, Goody leaned forwards again slowly, gently kissing the tip of your nose, before resting her forehead against yours.

It was moments like these that the two of you cherished. Your breathing quickened to match hers, and soon the rise and fall of your chests were perfectly in sync. With another kiss, albeit this one slightly rougher, you pulled back, once again taking Goody's hand.

"Come," You pulled her gently. "Let us ease down for the night." With that, Goody nodded and you began to make your way up the shoddy wooden steps of the worn ladder, and back up into the hayloft.

Naturally, sleeping on a bed of rough, filthy straw was not the most comfortable, but for outcasts in 17th century Jericho, it was the utmost luxury. You lay on your side, facing Goody as she held you tightly. One of your hands reached up to delicately brush a few strands of dirty blonde hair out of her face. Goody raised her arm from caressing you, and you missed the warm presence instantly. However, when she placed her index finger beneath your chin, guiding you into a passionate kiss, you melted into her touch, twirling her nearest plait between your fingers. Without breaking the kiss, you swiftly released the pale ribbon constraining the left side of her hair. You both returned to the surface for a deep breath of air, before returning back to the sea of bliss, as you slowly untangled Goody's hair.

Your lips began to numb as you pulled back fully, pressing one final kiss to Goody's reddened ones. She gently rubbed the tip of her nose against yours, sighing slightly. You cuddled her closer, your lips against her forehead and breath slightly tickling her now loose hair. She closed her eyes as you admired the way the extremely dim light luminated her features.

As you began to slowly drift off into a dreamy sleep yourself, you heard a faint whisper, signalling Goody was in fact awake.

"I love you, my darling."

"I love you more."

The woes of the future would be worth the torture if it meant you could hold eachother close tonight.

Being a HVW is about having a set of principles, values, standards. Your education, your poise and manners, your empathy and self-respect. Not about being a docile stay at home wife that has no hobbies, no inner life of her own, who will do everything to please her high-earning partner - those are personal choices, not HVW qualities. Furthermore they are not a healthy mindset to have because it's the setup for people-pleasing and some very unhealthy & unbalanced power dynamics in a relationship.

Dark feminine is not about manipulating men, seducing them, getting them obsessed with you or any of those things. That's the focus of the wounded feminine, which is anchored in its pain and stuck in trying to control others, it feels the need to get revenge or "balance the scales" to get back at the male figure(s) in her life that have wounded her. It's about being stuck in that energy of feeling insecure, needing exernal validation, anger at the wounding, and wanting to transform in a way that will make another person regret hurting you. The dark feminine is both the dark aesthetic (think black clothes, smoky eyes, red lips and nails, etc) and the more taboo, wild or unconvential qualities of a woman in her power. Crystal-clear boundaries, a hard "No. I said what I said." but still having integrated self-love and empathy, it's just knowing where, and with whom, to selectively share it with. It's about learning to embrace your darkness, your wildness, not being afraid of it, doing shadow work like journaling about your fears, traumas, triggers etc. The dark feminine is also the one most associated with the Wild Woman / Enchantress female archetype. Meanwhile, the light feminine aesthetic/energy is more associated with Maiden archetype (innocent, pure, maidenlike, luminous, angelic). That's why I mean the dark feminine & wounded feminine are not the same, they simply have a crossover.

Hypergamy, in its essence, is about having a high vision for yourself and your life, working on achieving the best life for yourself, and that also includes selecting a partner that is of equally high value and financial prosperity as well. It's not about making your entire life's purpose to find a high-earning husband. That by itself won't give you a secure life, and a smart high value woman will know that. What if he falls out of love and leaves you with nothing to show for 10-20 years wasted by his side, when you were so preoccupied with pleasing his every whim, that you forgot to have some income sources of your own, to invest in your education, to nurture your spirit, hobbies, etc?

Like thinking of Rio being extremely devastated that she can’t see Jeff ever again and that she actually wants to be a real woman in the real world. Her old fairytale life doesn’t feel right anymore, and she loves Jeff and she loves New York. And then Conchata comes here being like “you could forget everything that’s happened here, like it never happened” and manipulates her with the idea of being miserable while having to be with someone she doesn’t love forever. AND THEN THE SCENE WHERE ROBERT KISSES AND WAKES UP GISELLE AFTER EDWARD’S KISS DOESN’T WORK BUT WITH RIO AND JEFF OMGG!!!!

The Tremaines win and Cinderella remains a servant Sleeping Beauty:Aurora wakes up and stabs Prince Philip in the back and Maleficent in her dragon form burns him to ashes. Maleficent's evil reigns supreme with Aurora under her thrall to command the humans to serve Maleficent Snow White:The Evil Queen cuts out Snow White's heart and the fairest of them all rules forever 101 Dalmations:Cruella skins the puppies and makes the furcoat Beauty and The Beast:Gaston unexpectedly encounters the Enchantress, in a rare twist of fate, Gaston grants the kindness the Prince did not grant the Enchantress and as a reward grants him the magic to capture his heart's desire. Gaston kills The Beast and uses the magic to make Belle his. I did this once, guess I'm excited enough to do it again!

The songs sound wonderful! Can't wait to hear what they sound like with the cast and I can't wait to see what Lauren does with the choreo! NPMD blew me away and I can't wait to see how this show will kill me. "Cursed Crazy", "Step On Your Grave", "Ash To Ash", and "Ever After" are my favorite demos so far.

I think it's so cool that "Step On Your Grave" is such an angry song. I know it takes place while Ella's cooking her step-family dinner, but it would be really interesting if a reprise took place after Ella learns she can't go to the ball (that is if the story works the same way as usual). Normally, if Cinderella gets a song during this moment, it's very mournful, like say "In My Own Little Corner (Reprise)" from 1997 Cinderella. And that's great! But giving Ella a song like that, but with a "No Good Deed" from Wicked vibe would be so original and new as far as I'm aware! Cinderella has every right to be sad at her abusive situation, but also every right to be angry! Imagine she wants to follow them to the ball not to have a good night like usual but to kill her step-family on the way or at the ball somehow. Whether a rendition of "Step On Your Grave" is at a moment like this in the show or not, Ella deserves a song like that I think and I'm glad she's got one.

"Step On Your Grave" has a lot of allusions to Ella once being a princess in the making before the step-family or something came along, and Ella mentions her father having a sword, so I wonder if the Ashmores are fallen royalty or had royal tie-ins of some kind. Like maybe Ella was arranged to wed a prince or something.

"Ever After" has some elements of grief and that's so special I think. Cinderella often loses someone or something under her step-family, like her family or her former life, but the grief aspect isn't brought up too much very often in adaptations, the most significant time I can think of it being brought up is in 1997 Cinderella. It'd be nice to include that element in this show. I can't help but wonder if Ella's father's death was accidental in this show. "Ever After" kind of reminds me a bit of "Cool As I Think I Am" from NPMD sound-wise; some smart musical person should mash them up once "Ever After" is released. Ella also might be kinda regicidal in this song too, so... POOR GIRL'S JUST SO CONTEMPLATIVE!

I genuinely doubt "Trappings of Starlight" has much to do with the Starlight Theather from Hatchetfield, but to add to that craziness, the "Uh-oh-oh-oh," reminds me of the vocalizing from "Axe Man" from NT2. And "Should we shun her?" in "Castle On A Hill" reminds me of "Should we kill him?" in "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals". I don't think it means anything though. It seems pretty clear that The Lands That Are and Hatchetfield aren't going to have much overlap.

"Ash To Ash" seemingly referencing Ella's mom! I get this feeling that Ella's mom was a witch or enchantress of some kind and that's why she was burned. And it sounds like the Fairy Queen and Ella are maybe plotting revenge on someone or a system, maybe? And I wonder what QF means by saying Ella is "Terrible as I". Maybe she means terrible as in great or fearsome, like, say, "Oz the great and terrible" or something. And the lyric, "I shall wrap thee in these cinders, Ell" makes me wonder if her dress will be made with starlight + the cinders on her body—what a wicked idea! I love how far the Langs took the whole cinders and ash thing. With Ella's surname being Ashmore and this being a duet with the Fairy Queen, I'm very curious about the title and if there's a double meaning; are Ella and the Fairy Queen related in some way? This retelling will be so good!

In the subtitles for "Ash To Ash" in the 4/13 livestream, I assumed "Q+C" was supposed to be "Queen (Fairy) + Cinderella", but listening to the song a second time, it sounds like C's lines overlap Ella's very slightly, which would make it hard for one person (Bryce) to sing alone. So C is likely not Ella in that song. Maybe it's Crumb? Some in the chat said it probably just meant chorus, so we'll see eventually.

All the little motifs that exist already! Like "Will it Ever After Happily?" in "Castle On A Hill" and "Ever After". Or the talk of Ella painting in both "Ever After" and "Last For Ever". "Ever After" has so many! AAAHHH!

The Lyrics in "Castle On A Hill" being "A queen and her vanity, a beast and his agony" have me Thinking™. Are the prince's parents Beauty and the Beast? Is the prince a beast? And there's also the Excalibur callback??? Since Nick said there would be no other fairytales involved in this story, it might just be more of a reference than literal, but it's still cool.

The lyrics to "Cursed Crazy" make me wonder if the citizens blame Ella for the Ashmore family's demise for some reason. The idea of Cinderella not even being able to find potential solace in the townsfolk is so sad! There's so much to think about!

Dying to know what "'Cause my love will be fierce, and your love will be missed," in "Trappings Of Starlight" will mean. It's such an intriguing line. As well as who is the character singing the song. We seemingly don't know who they are yet.

Seraphim Fairy Queen is such a cool idea, especially with all the talk of God(s) or a god in "Ash To Ash"! No pressure on the Langs, but it'd be so cool for them to be able to go through with that design concept, even if it's through minimal tactics. I can't wait to see who this Fairy Queen is. Is she the prince's mom??? A Sleeping Beauty-type character we could follow in a future show??? Ella's mom??? Ella's girlfriend??? This will be so cool!

There are more characters that we haven't been introduced to yet! We can still get Ella a girlfriend guys! Genuinely excited to see who they are!

The fact that the trolls eat rodents and other smaller creatures has me a bit worried about Sir Hop and Crumb. Maybe Ella was going to cook them for her step-family, but became friends with them instead, protecting them from getting eaten.

Not to get too Crazy, but what if the characters singing with Ella in "Last For Ever" are her parents, resurrected, or never actually dead or something. Probably not, but what if???

I have a feeling I'll be making more lists as we learn more about the show, so if I have any more thoughts I'll try.

How would the cookies of darkness react to a powerful cookie, who was banished from their kingdom (for a bad reason, like banished for acts of kindness) and is just in the dumps and considering joining the cookies of darkness because it seems like there's no other choice for them and they're kind of in the dumps about it?

No matter, they will pay for their foolishness. Dark Enchantress promises you even greater power under her rule to get revenge on the kingdom that had forsaken you…make them suffer the way you have suffered….and she’ll be by your side the whole way..she would ADORE to see a powerful cookie like you just ANNIHILATE those weak pieces of dough..

Truly the kindest, and yet you were banished for your actions. Pomegranate believes that the darkness was your true calling all along, your kingdom’s betrayal only further proved that. She agrees with her Master, those foolish kingdom cookies will wish they hadn’t turned their back on you, she will be there laughing at them when they tremble on fear at your feet..

Banished for being kind? Licorice thought that was a ridiculous reason to kick you out, any kingdom that would kick out a cookie as powerful as you is a kingdom doomed to fall. A kingdom that was destined to fail and when it does, it will be at your mercy. You were way too good for that kingdom anyway, they should envy you then try to make you feel bad.

Poison Mushroom didn’t like seeing you sad, it makes them and the shroomies sad too. It does help you take your mind off the betrayal when Poison Mushroom wants to spend time with you, never missing a beat to hand you a shroomie. They’re very receptive to pats on the head, it makes them very giddy and happy.

Your dedication was met with this? Did this loathsome kingdom not have an ounce of dignity? Affogato thinks you should go get your payback on this kingdom, he’s pretty pissed that this kingdom was on your mind making you feel bad. He’s fully supportive of you going back to make them pay, he’ll be right behind you.

Strawberry Crepe didn’t get it, there was no flaws in your dough composition or anything, so why cut you loose from the kingdom? Those cookies needed some reconstruction to fix what’s wrong with them once you came back for them later. Often had disputes with Poison Mushroom over who gets pats on the head for their efforts.
