My favorite restaurant at Hard Rock Vallarta was Ciao--they had the best breakfast buffet in the morning that I managed to get once, and the best dinner menu of the places where there was a plated dinner option. The pastas were pretty accurate takes on classics like carbonara (eggs yes, no cream or cream substitutes noticed which is also yes) and the food overall was really good. I wish we had gone back one more time, to be honest, but I’m glad we had one really good dinner there and I had one great breakfast to boot.

And yes, every time I passed by it or referred to it I pronounced ciao the way Suzy Eddie Izzard* does in Dressed to Kill. *Suzy is her preferred name, but she still goes by Eddie, and you can read about it all here. Regardless, she’s amazing.

My favorite detail in Wicked

Wicked part 2 spoilers I guess but I just got to watch Wicked on streaming and noticed some foreshadowing that is SENDING me.

By far my absolute favorite detail is the use of body language to foreshadow what’s to come for these characters in part 2.

The biggest example is the choreography in “Dancing Though Life”. There’s just SO MUCH scarecrow imagery in the movements here, like look at the Scarecrow dancing in “If I Only Had a Brain” and then Fiyero dancing and TELL ME the filmmakers weren’t at least heavily inspired by the latter.

First Fiyero moves very slow and loosely, almost like a ragdoll. Which is exactly how IIOHAB starts.

But then as the song escalates the dancing switches to a much more energetic choreo, flailing and kicking their limbs around. Again, exactly how the Scarecrow does it. Especially the background dancers in the last scene look almost one-to-one with the original footage.

Its almost tragic seeing the unfortunate fate that awaits Fiyero foreshadowed in such a lively and fun musical number with none of the characters knowing.

I know a lot of other people have already pointed this out but just seeing it for myself, especially watching the clips back to back just blew my mind. This shows such a level of thought and care put into this movie by the production team especially from something that most people aren’t even going to notice. But it just makes the movie seem all the more complete and im SO impressed that they added this

Hey, listen. I've been posting donation asks lately, but there's some stuff that I'm just. Not going to post. severus is a better person than me, bcs he could've gone on his cute death eater mask and attire, sorted james and sirius' location, crucio them a bit before murdering them, and yet he never did. people like to talk about severus as though as if he was the worst human being in hp, but he never took actual revenge on the golden boys, or they wouldn't have lived past 18 if he did, duh.

so what, sirius! did you ever die? were you damaged permanently? no???? then shut the fuck up! severus was supposed to be an expert on dark arts, surely had the means to do horrendous stuff with all his knowledge, and he still didn't, even after joining the death eaters he still had more regard for life than sirius did when he sent severus to the shrieking shack.

god, sometimes i wish severus was as awful as people think he was. the same guy who was worried for his soul if he killed the only person he appreciated, which was probably very fucking hard for him to do.

After watching this first two episodes of the Percy Jackson Disney+ show, my main takeaway (outside of Percy taking on THREE Ares kids with no training and not even being wet) is that Luke was done so, so well.

The actor EMBODIES him. Even before I saw him acting, one picture was enough to convince me that this man WAS Luke, despite looking nothing like him. His friendship with Percy feels so much stronger. I'm already feeling the devastation from the inevitable betrayal. Just. He's so well done.
