Florida Sued For Using Taxpayer Money On Website Promoting Republican Spin On Abortion Initiative –West Palm Beach Florida
Critics say state-backed messaging push is latest 'dirty trick' by Republican officials to thwart citizen-led initiative to protect abortion
A political committee behind the campaign to pass a constitutional right to abortion in Florida has filed a lawsuit against a state health care agency that it alleges is carrying out a taxpayer-funded "misinformation" campaign against the November ballot measure.
Nearly a million Floridians signed petitions to get the measure known as Amendment 4 on the ballot, surpassing the more than 891,500 signatures required by the state.
The lawsuit targets a website, television and radio ads created by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration to give Floridians "the truth" about the proposed constitutional amendment. If approved by at least 60% of Florida voters, Amendment 4 would make abortions legal until the fetus is viable, as determined by the patient's health care provider.
The website launched this month states that "Amendment 4 threatens women's safety" and defends Florida’s current law, which bans most abortions after six weeks, under a banner that reads "Florida is Protecting Life" and "Don't let the fearmongers lie to you."
In the legal filing, attorneys for the abortion rights campaign called on the court to immediately halt the messaging push and what they argue is the unlawful use of taxpayer funds by state officials in service of a political campaign, actions which they claim are infringing on the rights of Florida voters.

I’m rereading Red, White, & Royal Blue and just thinking “Wow. We could’ve really had it all.”
#I have a lot of issues politically with this book#but it’s a fun romance#but I think it’s very early 2010s tumblr in its politics#and that isn’t necessarily bad#but it’s dated for a book that came out in 2019#red white and royal blue#essentially the framing of Democrats are unquestionably good and the Republicans are shady evil cariactures doesnt hold up#when you consider there is plenty of shady and often morally abhorrent policy on both sides of the aisle#we are seeing it from Alex’s point of view and Alex’s bias#but the writer could’ve made it so much more interesting by playing it more morally gray with the democrats#at least that’s what I would do if I was writing this kind of story#I love my moral ambiguity and black and gray morality as a writer

Hey, guys. Just so we know, every single person within the main political parties are pieces of shit including, YES, Democrats!!! Trump is a disgusting bigot, but Biden and Harris are genuinely no better whatsoever. The only difference is that they attempt to hide this via propaganda, and it works extremely efficiently. Fun fact: Trump is NOT associated with Project 2025. In fact, after doing research, because yes, I too, am not immune to propaganda, I learned he's actively DISTANCING himself AWAY from it. Does this mean I support Trump? Absolutely fucking not. I hate him beyond fathomable; but I hate Biden and Harris just the same! Remember, they're not good people. Just because fucking posts on here say something and it sure seems they're better, does NOT mean what you see is true. You are NOT immune to propaganda. Let's not vote Trump OR Harris. Third parties exist.
rb for bigger sample size. i'm actually really curious about this.
#And just so we're clear; I'm NO Republican or conservative.#I'm a VERY firm anarchist.#However; there is shady fucking shit going on with the democrats.#I recently saw a documentary claim that Hitler was A REPUBLICAN????#DID NO ONE LEAEN FUCKING HISTORY?#Yes. They did. Guess what?#It was propaganda.#I'm not saying the US issued that; fuck no.#But I'm saying that people are pumping out this propaganda to hide shit they don't like and make someone else look bad; yk. The purpose of#propaganda.#As I said.#you are not immune to propaganda#so many people here have shown that.#Vote; but don't vote for people who aren't going to help us. Because yeah. Newsflash; neither of those main parties are going to be any good#In all honesty; every political candidate is a piece of shit; but those main two stand out as the WORST you can get.#Do research before voting; don't just go for the main two. Pick someone that doesn't have piece of shit backgrounds.#vote third party#since unfortunately; anarchism isn't going to work when it'll end with the rich running everything.#(That doesn't change the fact I am an anarchist though.)

As far as tt ban goes, my prediction is trump is going to come into office and act like he saved tik tok. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he instructed the SCOTUS to uphold the ban so he and a republican controlled congress can “save TikTok”
#isn’t the inauguration a day after#script is set#wouldn’t be surprised if he instructed the SCOTUS to uphold the ban so he and a republican controlled congress can “save TikTok”#The CEO of TikTok is attending his inauguration#he’s going to line his own pockets via shady deal then announce it’s no longer a security risk#when he’s the one who originally signed the order that it needs to he sold to U.S. company#and unfortunately those who have no critical thinking will eat it up#his supporters are so stupid they can really just milk anything#ceo made a video thanking trump too

FROM PUBLIC CITIZEN
On Friday night, 50 United States senators — all of them Republicans — voted to put our nation’s security in the hands of a man who is laughably unqualified.
Except it could not be less funny.
With a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance, Pete Hegseth will now be Secretary of Defense.
Pete Hegseth isn’t qualified to be shift leader at a Dairy Queen (nothing against Dairy Queen). Putting him in charge of the entire United States military is a perversion — and every one of the 50 senators who voted for him knows it.
So why did they do it?
Because they were afraid that if they did the right thing and rejected Hegseth, Donald Trump would back someone else in their next election, and assistant president Elon Musk would spend millions to defeat them.
That’s why Trump defended his nominee so aggressively once news reports indicated how horrible Hegseth’s record is. It was a test. “Look how much they fear me.” “Look how willing they are to prostrate themselves at my feet.” “Look what I’ve turned them into.”
It’s really quite pathetic how craven and insecure they are.
Especially considering that even if they did lose their seats, ex-senators do pretty well. There are cushy positions on corporate boards or as high-paid lobbyists. There are deals to be had for books, podcasts, and speaking gigs. There are roles as pundits and hosts on Fox “News.” There are shady right-wing nonprofits and “think tanks” to run. There are car dealerships and cryptocurrencies to profit from. And on and on and on.
But no, these 50 senators were so afraid of Trump and so addicted to the illusion of political power (we say “illusion” because in reality they have forsaken any actual power in abject fealty to Trump) that they were willing to put Hegseth in charge of the $900 billion Pentagon, its 3 million employees, and all its warfighting capacity.
This is a man who has shown himself unable to run a small nonprofit. A man about whom there are credible reports of excessive drinking and out-of-control behavior. And a man against whom there are multiple allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.
This is also a man who refused in his confirmation hearing to renounce the use of torture. A man who at his hearing was unaware of a major international alliance. And a man who has argued that women should not serve in combat roles.
Let’s not forget that for generations, it is Republicans who have held themselves out as the party that supports the military and is “strong on defense.”
In case you think your senator would never jeopardize America’s national security, here are the 50 Republican senators who just sold out our troops, our veterans, and our country:
Jim Banks, Indiana John Barrasso, Wyoming Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee John Boozman, Arkansas Katie Britt, Alabama Ted Budd, North Carolina Shelley Capito, West Virginia Bill Cassidy, Louisiana John Cornyn, Texas Tom Cotton, Arkansas Kevin Cramer, North Dakota Michael Crapo, Idaho Ted Cruz, Texas John Curtis, Utah Steve Daines, Montana Joni Ernst, Iowa Deb Fischer, Nebraska Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Charles Grassley, Iowa Bill Hagerty, Tennessee Joshua Hawley, Missouri John Hoeven, North Dakota Jon Husted, Ohio Cindy Hyde-Smith, Mississippi Ron Johnson, Wisconsin Jim Justice, West Virginia John Kennedy, Louisiana James Lankford, Oklahoma Mike Lee, Utah Cynthia Lummis, Wyoming Roger Marshall, Kansas Dave McCormick, Pennsylvania Ashley Moody, Florida Jerry Moran, Kansas Bernie Moreno, Ohio Markwayne Mullin, Oklahoma Rand Paul, Kentucky Pete Ricketts, Nebraska James Risch, Idaho Mike Rounds, South Dakota Eric Schmitt, Missouri Rick Scott, Florida Tim Scott, South Carolina Tim Sheehy, Montana Dan Sullivan, Alaska John Thune, South Dakota Thom Tillis, North Carolina Tommy Tuberville, Alabama Roger Wicker, Mississippi Todd Young, Indiana
(Here are the three Republican senators who did not vote for the charlatan: Susan Collins, Maine; Mitch McConnell, Kentucky; Lisa Murkowski, Alaska.)
If you are feeling angry and/or fearful about what it will mean to have someone as devastatingly unqualified and dangerous as Pete Hegseth running the Department of Defense, join Public Citizen in a message to the 50 senators who just voted for exactly that.
Those who serve in uniform, our nation’s veterans, the hundreds of thousands of civilians who work in the military, and — most crucially of all — every single American deserve better (far better) than Pete Hegseth. You have put us all in harm’s way for no reason other than your own cowardice in the face of Donald Trump. Shame on you.
Click to add your name now.
Thanks for taking action.
For progress,
- Robert Weissman & Lisa Gilbert, Co-Presidents of Public Citizen

Thune and Cornyn were McConnell’s right and left hand. They’re old school shady corporate shills who will answer to the oligarchs.
That being said they’re light years better than Prick Scott who is possibly the most corrupt member of the Senate ever. He’s also a convert to MAGA and is beyond deranged in his devotion to Trump’s madness. He is an evil, petty, and tyrannical little man. He’s the richest person in Congress and an oligarch in his own right. With MAGA Republicans you get shady or diabolically evil.

Much like The Crystal Casket Corporation, remains to be seen.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/548c4ab6a409eba2596594a5e83e8b46/81f29678a372eb58-18/s540x810/a6950e67fae7cfcd6d9ba3f1142a142d26774f2f.jpg)
Music to my ears.
At no time will Trump ever admit he did anything wrong. At no time will Trump ever ask for forgiveness. At no time will Trump say he is sorry to his family for putting them through all this. At no time will Trump accept his role in crimes he helped create and implement. At no time will Trump admit he tried to influence the cases, ignore gag orders, and target judges and jurors with threats.
That is a sociopath.
Republicans would rather venerate a sociopath than admit to friends/family/co-workers they were deceived or foolishly didn't think all the MAGA rhetoric all the way through.
#when it happens I'll believe it#until then it's only speculation#republican run supreme court#shady house of reps run by republicans

this is what i think of when third party voters go around acting morally superior because they don't want to get their hands dirty like the rest of us. they're toddlers having temper tantrums because instead of using the system in a way that could benefit them in the long term like the extremist Republicans have been doing for decades, third party voters refuse to participate in local civics & then claim the entire country is already fascist. they're so cute in their naivety if they think the US can't get any worse.
what the fuck do you think will happen if you try to protest against a government with a military as massive, lethal, & expensive as ours. who do you think will be sacrificed first? oh what's that? crickets? thought so. i'm a white woman but i will absolutely use my voice to point out leftists can be racist as fuck & the anti-blackness in your spaces can be absolutely fucking wild. not everyone leftist is white, but many that are can be pretty problematic.
if you think i'm selfish then fine. if you state that you would gladly exchange my life for a Palestinian like one of you said in a comment to me a few weeks ago then fine. i'm out here fighting to make sure the people who live here in this country don't experience our own Holocaust.
if you have a problem with people wanting to fight this while claiming you're anti-genocide, you're a fucking liar & a hypocrite. you won't know what the fuck to do in a true fascist country. i don't doubt there are pockets of fascism already existing here but you thinking it's already the worst it can be is as infuriating as people who think the government is creating their massive hurricanes using weather machines. you sound just as childish & delusional. you already sound like children because you will never take responsibility for your choices if it ends up helping him win.
jill stein's campaign is a sham. she is deliberately running as a spoiler. she's a wealthy white woman who lives in a mostly white affluent neighborhood. she's going around lecturing black people about white supremacy. she is getting funds from Republicans as well as help from trump's lawyers. Lockheed Martin has given her money. she's involved in shady as fuck index funds for companies that harm the environment. she only started talking about Gaza during this election cycle to hit you in the feelings so she can bank on it. she made a whole stink about needing a recount, raised a bunch of money for that, & then that money disappeared who knows where. do you all hear this? do you care? no, you're just like maga with their orange Jesus. you don't give a FUCK about stein's red flags because she's "different."
if Harris loses & you blame anyone but yourselves, you're cowardly traitors who threw us regular Americans to the wolves because of your precious fucking principles. history has shown time & time again that protest voting typically allows something worse to take control. it's hardly ever beneficial to the people. you're vile. you don't want to make this world a better place by allowing so many near you to suffer & die. if both sides are the same then please tell me you're okay with another trump presidency. or just shut the fuck up.
i look forward to more potentially heartwarming messages saying that my life doesn't mean shit from people who allegedly are against the death penalty & are pro-human rights 🥰
please vote, don't stop talking about Project 2025, etc. i hope enough of us vote in a way that these pathetic third party voters don't gain any kind of traction. at this point i'm just angry at their hypocrisy when they don't even listen to other protestors who live here & are begging them to not vote third party. i refuse to listen to y'all not take responsibility for your part. Project 2025 will hurt us all but apparently you're okay with that or you think it's already here. smooth brain takes all around. anyways good luck & stay safe to anyone who votes blue 💙
#third party#green party#jill stein#jill stein is a putin plant#jill stein sucks#she will save no one#she can't even call putin a war criminal#do y'all not care about Ukraine#or do they deserve this treatment as well#y'all are so anti war you're more than happy to see it happen tee hee#you're not morallu superior#you're a selfish child#i would like to protect our most vulnerable here#your lack of voting for harris isn't hurting her#it's hurting the rest of us#in the end we'll all be screwed if he wins#the revolution isn't going to happen the way you want it#the fascists here are extremely well organized and have been playing a long game#the leftists in this country are nowhere near this organized or backed up#i kind of fucking hate you#so i look forward to more messages about how my life doesn't matter#you sure showed the system lmao#us politics#please vote#vote blue#let's drown out these selfish naive voters#project 2025#stop project 2025#agenda 47#kamala harris

Debate rages over the extent to which the protests on the political left constitute coded or even direct attacks on Jews. But far less attention has been paid to a trend on the right: For all of their rhetoric of the moment, increasingly through the Trump era many Republicans have helped inject into the mainstream thinly veiled anti-Jewish messages with deep historical roots. The conspiracy theory taking on fresh currency is one that dates back hundreds of years and has perennially bubbled into view: that a shady cabal of wealthy Jews secretly controls events and institutions contrary to the national interest of whatever country it is operating in. The current formulation of the trope taps into the populist loathing of an elite “ruling class.” “Globalists” or “globalist elites” are blamed for everything from Black Lives Matter to the influx of migrants across the southern border, often described as a plot to replace native-born Americans with foreigners who will vote for Democrats. The favored personification of the globalist enemy is George Soros, the 93-year-old Hungarian American Jewish financier and Holocaust survivor who has spent billions in support of liberal causes and democratic institutions. This language is hardly new — Mr. Soros became a boogeyman of the American far right long before the ascendancy of Mr. Trump. And the elected officials now invoking him or the globalists rarely, if ever, directly mention Jews or blame them outright. Some of them may not immediately understand the antisemitic resonance of the meme, and in some cases its use may simply be reflexive political rhetoric. But its rising ubiquity reflects the breaking down of old guardrails on all types of degrading speech, and the cross-pollination with the raw, sometimes hate-filled speech of the extreme right, in a party under the sway of the norm-defying former, and perhaps future, president.
– Karen Yourish, Danielle Ivory, Jennifer Valentino-DeVries, and Alex Lemonides, "How Republicans Echo Antisemitic Tropes Despite Declaring Support for Israel," The New York Times, May 9, 2024
