Comprehensive Guide to the Rent Restriction Act
The Rent Restriction Act is a crucial piece of legislation that governs the rental of residential properties in Jamaica. Its primary aim is to protect tenants from exorbitant rents and unfair evictions, while also ensuring that landlords receive a fair return on their properties. This guide is designed to provide a clear and easy-to-understand overview of the Act, with practical examples to…

"Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" (Lewis Carroll)
The Oxford Dictionary tells us that a pledge is to "formally promise to give or do something."
We already know that Keir Starmer has broken the vast majority of the 10 pledges he made to the Labour Party membership when campaigning to be leader. Having betrayed those in the Labour Party he is now intent on betraying the British public in general as he continues to make and break promises.
“Labour right to ditch rent controls idea: Shadow housing secretary Lisa Nandy’s statement today that Labour will not support rent controls has been welcomed by the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA).” (mortgagestrategy: 28/06/23)
If you cannot afford the massive increase in your rent then Keir Starmer says: TOUGH!
If you are a public sector worker, experiencing year on year erosion of your pay, then Keir Starmer says: TOUGH!
In a televised interview on BBC News, March 2021 Starmer told the audience that NHS staff needed to be “properly recognised and properly rewarded”.
Today we read that
“Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has not ruled out blocking public sector pay rises.”  (The Irish Times: 24/06/23)
Broken promises at home and, it seems, broken promises on the international front as well.
“Keir Starmer is considering dropping a promise to reinstate the Department for International Development (DfID), prompting anger from senior Labour figures and high-profile names in the international development world.” (Guardian: 28/06/23)
We live in an age where politicians  - from Donald Trump to Boris Johnson, from Rishi Sunak to Keir Starmer - are quite prepared to make whatever pledges they consider the electorate want to hear in order to gain power. Lets not mince words, a pledge which is deliberately broken is a lie. The British electorate knowingly voted for the liar Boris Johnson and look what that led to. Lets hope we don’t make the same mistake again.

"Vet Bills Drained My Account" Commissions
Hey all,
After getting hit with an astronomically high (for me) vet bill this month that drained my reserves, as well as being saddled with increased med costs for my ESA, I'm fairly strapped for cash and could use any help I can get.
I know money is tight for the vast majority of people, and there are thousands of people right now in more dire need than myself, but I'm putting myself out here anyways because my current options are to get more cash, neglect my pets' healthcare needs, or give them up.
With this preface as background, I'd like to boost my commissions again with some adjusted prices. Please note that due to overworking my wrist I'll be a little slower, but I do my best to give a fair time estimate and progress updates when working on a commission, as anyone who has commissioned me in the past can affirm. Pricing and full details can be found [here]; basic examples below. If interested, you can contact me through here (or my discord, if you have it).

If you don't particularly care for my art or would rather toss a smaller amount my way, you can also send me a quick buck through KoFi [here]!
Thank you so much for your time and consideration! Love you bunches

Hozier really said to future generations, it’s not your fault. You can’t “work hard” and get what you need and want. It’s not your fault that the dreams of fifty years are now unrealistic and unattainable without breaking your soul and maybe not even getting it. You were fucked over before you came into this world, and they continue to fuck you over so much that it’s better to live your life as you see fit. It would be easier because being young and living as you want won’t ruin you but abiding by the systems most likely will.

All I want is for Shiggy to just try to provoke Izuku by saying something like “your little boyfriend might have defeated AFO, but you won’t defeat me.” (Izuku doesn’t even have to respond. I’d still be happy.)
If we don’t get explicitly clear bkdk, i at least hope for heavily implied/ambiguous things. I might start a series of snips or something cause i have these inklings far too often.

genuinely how sick and twisted is it that renters have to move every fucking year or put up with rent hikes for no reason. except of course everyone is increasing rent so even looking for a new place is an evil endeavour. can we all explode

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Montreal to express their fury about Quebec’s housing reform bill and “unfair” rent increases. They also called for France Elaine Duranceau, the minister responsible for housing, to resign. Park Extension resident Edward Fell was among the demonstrators. The septuagenarian is retired after a 50-year blue collar career. He lives off his pension and says his landlord is doing everything he can to raise his rent. “That cheque is going to mean that I don’t get groceries for a month. I don’t go out for a month. I don’t pay my car insurance for a month,” he explained.
