welcome to ghost mod's thought experiment, the m/f ship bracket bonus round where every single m/f ship from the original round is pit against reylo of the 97/3 #shreksweep infamy.
why, you ask? mostly cuz of this.
they're going from lowest to highest per the original rankings, starting off with our newcomers adam/eve. 9 polls per day will roll out on queue throughout the est evening from may 12th-18th! after polls are closed one week later, i will post the final rankings of who swept the hardest (or failed to sweep...)
all polls can be found under the #bonus round tag, and this masterpost also contains links to each specific poll. there is also a spreadsheet with current bonus round standings and stats from the original bracket if you like numbers. :)
disclaimer: not a reylo hater. i'm just ardently devoted to the bit

Spoilers if you haven't read the issue yet
Starting things off Clark gives us a summary of what happened last issue and he mentions that the military took the Amazo robot back to Mt. Simonson and mentioned the defenses it has like the lead walls and the Cadmus Red Sun Omega Field. I talked a bit about Mt. Simonson's reference here, the lead wall's blocking out Superman's x-ray vision here, Red Sun being a weakness for Superman and Cadmus here, and the fact that the caption using the word Omega in the Red Sun Omega Field and the Kirby crackle in the panel here.
When our Daily Planet trio go to the base to figure out where the Amazo robot is Jimmy gets put on blast for his conspiracies about the things the military may or may not have or be doing. The latter two panels mention a turtle boy and Atlanteans from the Mariana Trench.
The first reference is a nod to Jimmy Olsen's time as the Giant Turtle Man. Giant kaiju turtle Jimmy Olsen makes his first appearance in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #53 (1961) [Cover art by Curt Swan] where Jimmy finds a treasure chest containing an enlarging ray that Jimmy accidentally triggers with a turtle nearby acting as a filter causing the ray to hit Jimmy creating the Giant Turtle Man as seen on the cover. Superman fixes this by using Brainiac's shrinking ray on Jimmy and Lori Lemaris who was once Superman's mermaid partner figures out Goxo, an Atlantean criminal who built the enlarging ray, was involved in all this. MAwS Jimmy also mentions mermaids and I talked more about the only Superman related mermaid, Lori Lemaris here.
Jimmy mentioning mutated Atlanteans from the Mariana Trench brings to mind the Trench from the Aquaman comics. This underwater civilization that was once part of the Atlantis kingdom and when Atlantis sunk to the ocean, the Trench adapted to their underwater environment to be more like the deep sea creatures who live deep down the depths of the ocean floor. The Trench make their first appearance in Aquaman #1 (2011) [W: Geoff Johns, P: Ivan Reis, I: Joe Prado, C: Rod Reis, L: Nick J. Napolitano] where they were seen surfacing back up from the ocean floor. You might also have seen them in the first Aquaman movie where Arthur and Mera are on a boat in the stormy seas and the Trench swarm and attack their boat.
Later on as Jimmy gets escorted to the visitors area, we see Robert and Slade have a dick measuring contest and Slade mentions Team Seven. I talk more about Robert's comic book counterpart here btw.
Team Seven makes its first appearance as Team 7 under the legendary Jim Lee's former comic imprint, Wildstorm in Gen 13 #4 (1994) [W: Jim Lee, Brandon Choi, J. Scott Campbell, P: J. Scott Campbell, I: Alex Garner, Sandra Hope, C: Wendy Broome, Wildstorm FX, L: Richard Starkings, Comicraft]. In the double page spread, John Lynch explains the history of the Team 7 which he was a part of, telling the Gen 13 kids, that their fathers who were all part of Team 7 was exposed to the Gen Factor to give them superpowers thanks to International Operations who now want to control the Gen 13 kids.
When Wildstorm and their characters were absorbed into DC, they became part of the DC universe and during the New 52 reboot Team 7 was reintroduced again with some familiar faces from the DC universe joining the team.
This iteration of Team 7 made its first debut in Team 7 #0 (2012) [Cover art by Ken Lashley and Nathan Eyring], where the team was composed of former Wildstorm Team 7 members, Alex Fairchild, Cole Cash aka Grifter, and James Bronson aka Majestic, DC familiars Amanda Waller, Dinah Drake II (the second Black Canary and daughter of the first Black Canary aka Dinah Drake I), Steve Trevor, and Slade Wilson and then-new to the New 52 universe characters Dean Higgins, Kurt Lance (who eventually marries Dinah Drake II), and Summer Ramos.
This iteration of Team 7 is a government affiliated team that is used to stop metahuman threats.
Later in the issue we meet Dr. Killgrave who, along with his team, are doing experiments on the Amazo robot.
Thaddeus Killgrave makes his first appearance in Superman #19 (1988) [Cover art by Jerry Ordway]. In the comics Professor Killgrave was a mad scientist who helped build anti-Superman tech sometimes even selling them to other villains. He also worked for Intergang before Superman was able to stop them all together.
And with that we finish the Easter eggs and references in My Adventures with Superman #2! Come back next month to see what is in issue 3! Be sure to preorder your copies at your local comic shops because not only are you showing DC that there are fans behind this book, but you are also helping out a small local business stay afloat as well!

A Dragon's beauty
barbarian Bakugou X Reader
master list part 6? content warning: cursing, threats, fire, this is kinda long! Sorry🤍
༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄༄
Bakugou stood tall with his arms crossed as he stared at your father. He had just left you with your elder sister.
“Please sit Bakugou, has Kya been giving you trouble?” Endeavor asked as he watched the blonde sit at his desk before him. Bakugou shook his head as he pulled out the letter and handed it to him.
“We received yesterday. They took Touya and want Kya” Bakugoy stated and Endeavor nodded, pulling the same letter from a drawer in his desk to show Bakugou.
“I assume they plan to use Touya as some barter, to force us into their hand” Bakugoy nodded, agreeing with Endeavor’s analysis.
"What about Kya?, want her too" he asked, wondering if Endeavor had an explanation for it.
"I am not sure why they want Kya, there is nothing special about her" Endeavor mumbled, breaking eye contact with Bakugou.
"magic, letter said about her magic" His voice was firmer as he leaned forward, narrowing his eyes at the man who just lied to him. Endeavor met Bakugou eyes again, sighing.
"I am not able to give you the information you want Bakugou. I know why they want Kya but I that is something I cannot share" he told the blonde boy who gritted his teeth and narrowed his eyes.
"my wife!, should know why they want her, she have magic?" he growled, it was the only plausible explanation for Katsuki but you were so small and feeble barely even able to lift buckets of water or too many logs for the fire. Endeavor sighed, he never wanted to acknowledge what resided in you, the reason why his wife, your mother, died that day.
"Bakugou..Kya is not normal and not just because she may possess magic. You can see how weak she is, yes?" Bakugou nodded and Endeavor continued.
"when Rei fell pregnant with Kya she became extremely ill and grew weaker and weaker as the pregnancy continued. I got physicians, scholars, academics and even witches to her aid but not one could place the illness, until a letter appeared addressed for Rei and I. This letter addressed from no one knew all about Rei and her sickness, down to every last symptom and claimed to know why. Our family lineage has always had strong connections with fire magic, myself, Touya and Shoto all possess some form and strength of it. This letter, however, claimed that Kya would surpass us all with a power that would either save our kingdom or bring about its destruction" Endeavor paused, gauging Bakugou's reaction before continuing.
"I didn't believe it, believing it was some hoax as the writer asked to be invited for Kya's birth. I ignored the signs the letter told, the future symptoms it predicted, the weather it warned of and the omen that would be Kya's birth. Rei died almost immediately after Kya was born, it was like she had lost her life months ago and her body was just the vessel for Kya. Kya, when she was born.." he trailed off, eyes shutting as he remembered the chilling day.
"when she was born, she didn't cry like a normal babe, didn't make any noise or indiction she was alive. I held her in my arms but all I seen was two white eyes staring back, my child didn't feel like mine. I-I felt like I was in the presence of something else, something far stronger than me radiating from a babe"
"she doesn't seem powerful? more weak" Bakugou commented, confused as Endeavor had visibly shuddered when talking about your birth.
"Her power manifested when she turned two, I-I don't know what happened, it was so quick but Touya and Natsuo were in the courtyard with her in the grass and suddenly she was in the air, eyes white. a glow emitting from her small body. she fell back down moments later, Touya caught her. Her power continued to grow stronger, if she threw a tantrum the castle would shake. The courtyard split one day and lava bubbled up from the crack after Touya teased her too much. I had a witch come and seal her power away. A Todoroki has never had so much raw power, let alone a female, she is the first female in my lineage to have magic abilities" Bakugou's eyes widened, he heard some witches could null magic abilities for periods of time but to seal it away was unbeknownst to him.
"she does not know of this power?" Bakugou asked and Endeavor shook his head. Bakugou sighed, leaning back. what the fuck have I married?.
"tell her today" Bakugou mumbled as he got up from his seat. Endeavor shot up, shoulders squared and tensed.
"No! Kya can never know about her power. She will not be able to control it and will ruin the kingdom!' Endeavor snapped, Bakugou glared at the king feeling the tension thicken in the room as both men stood on edge.
"She need to know. I tell her, you cannot stop me" He growled as he turned on his heel, ready to march out. A fiery ball flew by Bakugou, heating his face and singeing part of his hair as it scorned the door he was about to grab. Bakugou looked over his shoulder, eyes narrowed as he rested his hand on the door handle.
"Do not challenge me old man. I will kill you" He stated, malice laced in his tone as he swung the door open and slammed it shut after him. Endeavor rushed out after the blonde who had already disappeared. Endeavor turned seeing Iida standing at the door.
"where did he go Iida?" he asked.
"he headed straight then left sir, would you like me to catch up with him?" Iida asked, turning to the king.
"No, find Fuyumi and Kya and bring them to the courtyard, find them before he does" Iida nodded and took off, as part of the elite royal guard he too had powers. His family had superspeed, nothing could compete with them.
Bakugou stomped down the hallway, grumbling to himself as he thought of what he was just told, of course you couldn't be normal, of course the Todoroki family had to have another dark secret hidden in the walls of this castle. He didn't know what to do, your involvement in this war made it all the more complicated. He never thought of you potentially being kidnapped nor wanted, sure you were his wife but that was just on paper. The care he felt for you was little.
Bakugou returned to the courtyard to find you there with your siblings, all sitting circled in the grass as you leaned against Shoto. A large smile on your face, giggling at a story your elder brother was telling. Bakugou stepped onto the grass, catching Shoto's eye.
"Kya, come we are leaving" He stated, Your eyes met his and you opened your mouth to protest, wanting to stay a little longer but the narrowed red eyes made you quickly shut it, not wanting to anger the blonde. You stood up moving to walk over to Bakugou when Fuyumi grabbed your arm.
"S-she can stay for dinner? there is more than enough for both of you" She stuttered, looking at Bakugou who only shook his head.
"No, we leave now. Kya, come" He ordered and Fuyumi pulled you into a tight hug. Her brothers standing up too, Natsuo narrowing his eyes at Bakugou's rudeness. You pulled away from Fuyumi and walked over to Katsuki, keeping your head down.
Bakugou grabbed your hand in his and began to walk away from the siblings when Iida rushed in, blocking his path.
"Im sorry Sir Bakugou! but king Endeavor has requested I not let you leave just yet" He informed, blocking the exit to the courtyard. Bakugou gritted his teeth, of course that tyrant would pull something like this.
"No, we leave now" Bakugou growled, palm heating as he tightened his hold on your arm making you wince.
"I-I cannot let you do that sir, King Endeavor explicitly ordered-"
"It is alright Iida. I can handle it from here, thank you for catching up with him" Endeavor's voice boomed from behind Iida. Bakugou's narrowed eyes immediately zoning in on the king
"father, what is going on?" Shoto asked, the tension between the two men before him was thick enough to cut with a knife.
"nothing to concern yourself with Shoto. Kya here is staying for a few days like we discussed, isn't that right Bakugou?" Endeavor hummed, stepping out into the courtyard. You looked up at Bakugou expectantly.
"No, we leaving now. Endeavor I already warned you" he growled as he pulled you to the side going to move around the king when fire was shot at the ground in front of you both, making Bakugou still and you gasp as you looked at your father. A small flame radiating in the palm of his hand.
"Bakugou if you leave with her I will wage attack on your tribe and you will lose, leave her here" Bakugou growled at the challenge and let you go. He removed his cape, cracking his knuckles as he stepped forward
"Dragon blood clan will never lose to you. You Endeavor are too old for threats, let Kya and I leave" He snapped. You watched fearfully from your sisters hold at the interaction. Your father literally had fire in his palm. He was controlling it. magic is real.
"Father what is the meaning of this?!" Shoto yelled, stepping between the tense men and facing his father.
“This does not concern you Shoto!” He yelled.
“If it involves Kya, it involves me!” He retorted, stepping towards his father. Bakugou looked between everyone angry at your fathers actions he seen your wide fear filled eyes.
“Kya has magic Shoto, Endeavor sealed it away” Bakugou stated, eyes meeting Endeavors wild ones. Your eyes widened at Bakugou’s admission and Shoto’s head flicked between you and his father.
“Kya can wield magic? I thought Touya and I were the only ones within our family!” He asked as he stared at his father. Endeavors lips pulled into a thin line as his eyes narrowed in at Bakugou.
“He is lying Shoto, dont believe him” he growled. The flame in his hand burning brighter. Shoto eyes were wide with confusion as he turned to Bakugou.
“Is it true? Can she truly wield magic” he asked and Bakugou nodded.
“A letter came from Shigaraki’s people. They want Kya for her magic, it is more powerful than any” Shoto was in disbelief as he turned to face you. You watched as your father began shouting, Shoto began shouting, Bakugou and Natsuo both joined in.
Fuyumi held you tighter, too tight as you breath quickened, shallow and short, voices blurred into one as they pierced your head. You hated this, hated this noise and it was all because of you. Your eyes looking over to your father whose flame burned brighter, magic was real? And you possessed some? And the enemies wanted you? Your entire world and way of life had been uprooted in the space of 7 days, 7 hard and exhausting days. You were thrown into an unknown territory with unknown people.
It was all too much.
“Stop! Stop it everyone, just be quiet!” You screamed, pulling your arms from Fuyumi as the ground below everyone shook, birds escaping the trees within the courtyard as small bushes trembled and rocks danced on the ground. Everyone fell quiet and all eyes were on you.
You stared back, eyes wide and wild. Your hair strewn over your face and shoulders messily as your chest caved with each heavy breath. You ran past your father. Iida reached out to grab you but you swatted your hand, making no contact yet he was forced back as you ran from everyone. They all stood quiet at the powerful magic you just produced. Bakugou looked to Endeavor for an answer
“You said her magic was sealed” he stated, pulling his cape back on and stepping towards your father whose skin had paled. The flame in his hand no more
“Iida, find Keigo. I need him here” Endeavor turned and walked off leaving the rest to stand confused.
Bakugou was next, going down the hallway the way you went. Shoto quickly followed and do did Natsuo and Fuyumi. They went everywhere, your room, the library all the small hideaways you used to use to hide from your fathers wrath but to no avail. You were not there.
You weren’t in the castle anymore having ran up to the stables and into the paddock with your horse, taking him with just his bridle and following the old path down into the small apple acre just behind the castle. A place even your siblings didn’t really know of.

My rankings for every season in the Sailor Moon franchise
It’s been well over a month since Sailor Moon Cosmos dropped on Netflix, and the hype still hasn’t worn off me just yet. Sailor Moon is actually a very special franchise to me because it was one of the very first anime I watched as a kid, and now, having just watched Cosmos this year, I decided to rank all seasons from both the 90s anime and Crystal together on one list, from worst to best (or from least favorite to most favorite, since this is all my own subjective opinion). And yes, this will include Eternal and Cosmos, since they’re part of Crystal continuity.
10. Sailor Moon Crystal - Season 1 (2014):
Starting at the very bottom of my list is a choice that might come off as controversial to some, but even if you love every single season of Crystal, I’m sure most of us can agree that Crystal’s first season was pretty rough in terms of quality. Aside from the wonky animation and the uncanny valley designs of the girls, the thing that bothers me the most about this season is how utterly ignored the Inner Senshi are in favor of the “Miracle Romance”. I don’t hate the UsaMamo ship as a whole, but they really didn’t need to sacrifice the characters of all the Inner Senshi (and their little bonding moments with Usagi in the manga) in order to make the main romance look good! The most egregious examples of this are:
And don’t even get me started on that horrible “romantic subplot” between the Inner Senshi and the Shitennou that wasn’t even in the manga! If you want to read more about how awful that was, crystalquality made a great post about it right here. Anyway, Season 1 of Crystal was a massive disappointment for me. So if you really want a darker, more mature version of the Dark Kingdom arc, I suggest you stick with the manga version.
9. Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars (1996):
Now, as someone who grew up during the 90s and early 2000s, I enjoyed watching every season of the original Sailor Moon anime on TV…or at least, every season that was available to watch in the States. Fast forward to some time around 2018-2019, where I watched the subbed version of the whole Stars season on the Viz Media streaming site, and…needless to say, I was very disappointed by it. Granted, it did have some good things like the soundtrack, Lead Crow and Aluminum Siren, a few good moments between Usagi and Rei, and some very cute HaruMichi moments. However, for me, this is a season where the bad elements outweigh the good.
The story moves at a snail’s pace (despite being the shortest season of the 90s anime), the other Sailor Animamates are completely forgettable and serve no purpose beyond padding out the 34-episode length, Galaxia hardly does anything until the last 6 episodes, Chibi-Chibi is completely useless, and the Sailor Starlights take too much focus away from other important characters (including Princess Kakyuu, who was also utterly useless here)! The latter thing wouldn’t even be that much of a problem if the Starlights here were actually interesting, but aside from maybe Seiya, the 90s anime writers just didn’t bother to give them any real depth.
Not only that, but the Inner Senshi all act completely out of character for most of this season, including poor Ami.
Alright, who are you and what’ve you done to the real Ami Mizuno?
And speaking of the Inner Senshi, Minako is at her absolute worst in Sailor Stars!
And that’s only one example. Seriously though, if I were to list any more of Minako’s worst moments in Stars, we’d be here all day.
8. Sailor Moon SuperS (1995):
I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with this season. Let’s start with the positives. The fantasy circus motif easily makes this one of the more aesthetically pleasing arcs in the series; the Amazon Trio start off really unlikable, yet in their last stretch of episodes, you can’t help but root for them. The Amazoness Quartet are also very likable and endearing, and I really appreciate what the 90s anime writers were trying to do with Nehelenia in this version (don’t really feel like going into full detail, but @ultraericthered made a great post about it right here).
On the other hand, this is the point in the 90s anime where Chibiusa stops being interesting and doesn’t even grow as a Sailor Senshi (despite the fact that this season is supposed to be the big turning point in her character arc)! It’s also the season where all 5 of the main Senshi get terribly nerfed by a magical talking horse. Speaking of which, why is Chibiusa’s relationship with Helios so shady in this version? I mean, at the start of the season, he reveals himself (in Pegasus form) to Chibs and Usagi to give them their new power-ups. Yet, right after that, he decides to spend a good middle chunk of the season hiding away in Chibiusa’s room, where he has Chibiusa keep their whole relationship a secret from the other Senshi; and my question is WHY?! It makes no sense, and makes Helios come across as a creep!
Unfortunately, SuperS was also the point where Minako’s horrible character assassination in the 90s anime began.
7. Sailor Moon Crystal - Season 2 (2015):
To clarify, I am not a Crystal hater. Yes, I do think the 1st season of Crystal is bad, but that doesn’t mean I think “all” of Crystal is bad. For instance, Season 2 gives us some of those classic goofy anime expressions that we were sorely missing from Season 1. Plus, each of the Inner Senshi get to have their own character-focused episode (before 3 of them end up getting abducted by the Black Moon Clan). Plus, it gives Sailor Pluto some much needed spotlight after being so underutilized in the 90s anime. And while the Black Moon Clan in this version are nowhere near as interesting as they were in Sailor Moon R, they’re still very threatening and work well as villains.
However, the reason I have this season so low at #7 is, sadly, because of Usagi. You see, since Crystal was made to follow the manga more closely, that unfortunately means we have to see Usagi behave like this throughout the first half of the arc:
Now, I know Usagi had some resentment towards Chibiusa in Sailor Moon R as well, but that was only because Chibiusa in that version was a little menace. Plus, the jealousy Usagi had over Mamoru in that version came from the fact that Mamo just broke up with her (because of a terrifying vision he had from King Endymion), and she was worried she did something wrong. Crystal’s version just makes Usagi come across as possessive and unlikable, which is probably why Black Moon is my least favorite arc in the manga as well.
6. Sailor Moon Classic (1992):
It pains me to place this one as low as #6, because I really do love this season a lot. The Shitennou actually have distinct personalities, Usagi’s friendship with Naru is a lot more prominent here than in any other incarnation of Sailor Moon, and I think the enemies-to-lovers dynamic between Usagi and Mamo is actually very endearing and makes their romance feel way less rushed as a result. However, with this being a weekly anime series from the 90s, there’s still a few pacing issues to be found. I didn’t mind the whole Rainbow Crystals mini-arc, nor did I mind that we had to wait till episodes 8 and 10 for Mercury and Mars to show up. Unfortunately, things get a bit more tedious when we have to wait out another 15 episodes for Jupiter to show up (the wait for Venus didn’t bother me much though, since her debut episode came hot off the heels of the Rainbow Crystals arc). The Evil Endymion arc also dragged on a lot longer than I would’ve liked. Still, this is easily one of the better adaptations of the Dark Kingdom arc, and will always hold a very special nostalgic place in my heart.
5. Sailor Moon R (1993):
I’ve already explained in great detail back in a different post on why this season is so criminally underrated to me. So, instead of repeating myself here, you can just read that to see why.
4. Sailor Moon Crystal - Season 3 (2016):
WOAH! Talk about a major upgrade! Not only does the animation here look a hundred times better than it did in the first 2 seasons of Crystal, but the character designs look way more appealing and feel like a nice middle ground between the classic 90s style and Naoko’s artstyle from the manga. Plus, we finally get to see Usagi and the Inner Senshi interact like real friends this time around! We also get to see the Inner Senshi contribute more to the fights, unlike the first 2 seasons of Crystal, where they constantly got their asses handed to them and needed Usagi to bail them out. Even the romance between Usagi and Mamoru is way more charming and less nauseating this time.
Also, gotta give this season props for making the Witches 5 feel more like a genuine threat, because in the 90s anime (with the exception of Eudial) they all felt like weaker and less memorable versions of the Specter Sisters from Sailor Moon R.
That being said, this season isn’t perfect. While most of the transformation sequences look amazing in the 3rd season of Crystal, Usagi’s just looks a bit too rubbery for my taste. Also, hot take, but I personally did NOT care for Haruka and Michiru in this version. In Crystal, they feel more like walking exposition dumps rather than actual characters. Meanwhile in the 90s anime, we got to know more about their civilian lives, how they first met, and they had personalities that didn’t exclusively revolve around Usagi. Also, for the only canonical lesbian couple in the entire series, it’s kinda gross how Crystal made Haruka and Michiru seem like mere plot devices to strengthen the relationship between the main hetero couple (then again, this was a problem in the manga’s Infinity arc as well, so I can’t really fault Crystal for that).
Aside from those issues, this was a very solid adaptation of Naoko’s Infinity arc, and its higher quality really helped set the stage for the final 2 Crystal adaptations later down the line.
3. Sailor Moon S (1994):
Now, I will admit that Season 3 of Crystal is better than S in terms of plotting and pacing, but the emotions…God, the emotions! They just hit so much harder in S than they do in Crystal!
And that Outer Senshi theme music by Takanori Arisawa is the absolute Chef’s Kiss of Sailor Moon music, bar none!
Plus, I actually like that Hotaru/Saturn got to be the one to save Earth this time. True, it would’ve been much better if we actually got to see the final battle between Saturn and Pharaoh-90, but I still think it’s a great season nonetheless.
2. Sailor Moon Cosmos (2023):
Man, talk about a grand finale! These two movies were just about everything Sailor Stars should’ve been. The Starlights are so much more likable and don’t feel like a plot tumor this time, the Sailor Animamates are given less screen time but are far more competent at their job, Chibi-Chibi is much more proactive and isn’t just there to be sickeningly cute, Galaxia is more of an active threat throughout the story, and Princess Kakyuu is finally given the respect she deserves! Not only that, but Chibi Moon gets to have a role in the climax too (something that was also sorely missing from Sailor Stars).
Some may find it jarring to see all the other Senshi get killed off so abruptly in this version of the Stars arc, but I didn’t mind it, because it gave Usagi the motivation she needed to go off into space with Princess Kakyuu and the Starlights to stop Galaxia.
Bottom line: These movies were terrific and a perfect way to cap off the Crystal series!
Sailor Moon Eternal (2021):
While the 90s anime version of the Dream arc may have been disappointing for many fans, these two movies completely rectify that problem by giving us what is, in my opinion, the BEST possible version of that arc! The Amazon Trio aren’t quite as memorable here as they were in SuperS, but to be fair, they’re not supposed to be “major” villains in this version, just basic obstacles for the Inner Senshi to face when they unlock their new powers. Speaking of which, the way the Inner Senshi get their new powers is SO much more satisfying here than how they got them in SuperS (especially Mako and Minako, who I thought were done very dirty in the latter)! There’s no nerfing the Senshi for contrived reasons. All the girls get an equal amount of time to shine in Eternal, including the Outer Senshi, which the SuperS season was sorely missing, but I digress.
Another thing I really appreciate about Eternal, was how it handled Helios and Queen Nehelenia. Helios is actually a lot more helpful this time, and not some cryptic emo boy that’s constantly keeping secrets for very contrived reasons. Plus, his romance with Chibiusa is a lot less creepy and a lot more wholesome in Eternal. Nehelenia, while already an entertaining villain in the 90s anime, is even more interesting here, because her past with Queen Serenity adds more emotional stakes to the conflict between her and the royal family of the White Moon.
Anyway, that was my personal ranking of each Sailor Moon “season”. Do you agree or disagree? Let me know what you think in the notes, if you want to.

Polar Opposites- A Shoto x Reader Fanfic (Chapter 8)
~ Shoto x Reader Arranged Marriage Royalty Fanfic ~ ~ Warnings: none :) ~
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8- you’re reading it!
~Chapter 8~
As you walk into the party, your hand on Shoto's arm, you're overwhelmed with senses, A nice, slow background music wafts around the large ballroom from a piano in the corner, The smell of wine and bakery items straight out of the oven drifts to your nose. You discreetly look around to find the sorce of the heavenly smell. As you glance around, you fully realize just how many people were here- it seemed like the whole kingdom! Well, concidering the occasion, it wouldn't be surprising it most of the important nobles were invited.
As Shoto led you further into the ballroom, you made note of the lavish decorations. To one side of the ballroom was a banquet table with delicious pastries and wine- just what you were looking for! To the other side, standing tales for guests to mingle. The walls were decorated with velvet red curtains for the beautiful windows. And ahead of you, a raised platform with thrones.
King Enji and Queen Rei were sitting on their respective thrones, chatting with Natsou and Fuyumi, who had managed to squirm through the crowd ahead of you, "Ready?" Shoto's soft voice broke you at of your daze. You took a deep breath and forced a smile onto your face- though you hoped that he couldn't tell that it warsn't entirely forced. "About as ready as I'll be. You?" He smiled slightly at your cheeky response. "Let's get this done and over with Shall we?" And just like that, his stoic mask was back as you two climbed up the stairs to the raised platform.
POV CHANGE- SHOTO
As he held Y/N’s hand, all he could think was "act normal, act normal”, trying to act like his heart wasn't beating out of his chest He towed her behind him as he passed through the crowd to his father, He politely nodded at all the Dukes and Duchesses, Marions and Marionettes, Nobles and other important people as he passed by. As he glanced up at the platform, he saw his two siblings in their own thrones on king Enji's side. And to his mother's side, a new throne was next to his. It must be for Y/N L/N. Well, that was her name for a little while longer. By the end of the week, she would be Y/N Todoroki, A shiver went up his spine at the thought.
Once they got up to the raised platform, he bowed to his father and nodded to his mother. His father tapped - well, tapped is an understatement. More like banged - his scepter on the marble floor to get everyone's attention. His mother slipped him a small white velvetly box with an encouraging smile. He didn't hear what his father was saying as he ran his thumb over the box. The box with the ring- no, their ring in it. he sighed under his breath as he tuned into what his father was saying. "-this alliance marriage..." of course he would call it that. "… between Y/N L/N and my son, Shoto Todoroki, will strengthen the bonds between our kingdoms.” Then his father turned to him, their eyes meeting for a split second, "The ring, Son." How does your own father calling you ‘son' sound so wrong? Though he nodded as he opened the box.
He watched as her eyes sparkled upon seling the ring, her face a light pink color. He looked down at the ring, silently studying it. And he couldn't lie, it really was quite beautiful, It had two stones, cut into the shape of a heart. (how ironic) One stone was his birthstone, a sparkling Garnet, And the other was what he assumed was her birthstone, a lovely (). He reached for her hand. He chuckled as he watched her quickly wipe her hand on her dress, an endearing habit, before letting him take your hand. Then he took the ring out of the box, setting the box on a small table. Although his father was talking, he paid no mind as he slid the ring on her finger. Then he smiled at her flustered expression and brought her hand to his lips, pressing a light, lingering kiss to her knuckles right next to her lips. he watched as your face flushed a brighter pink - if that was even possible, He smiled as he dropped her hand back to her side. Maybe if he could male her face pink everyday, this wouldn't be so bad. But, just two days until the real hellhole-the wedding.

Saikhan - earth/metal - 47 (I KNOW he’s ten years younger than Lin but I Do Not See It -1)
Akira - wife - nonbender - 44 (She has a needlework/mother’s group she runs on the weekends.)
The Kids
Rei - she/her - earth - 24 (has a 4 year old daughter and a newborn son, runs a restaurant with her husband)
Emi - they/them - nonbender - 20 (travelingggg they wanted to explore the world. Settled down in the earth kingdom with a waterbender, writes often)

Haru - he/him - nonbender - 15 (lives at home, studying to be an ambassador for RC)
Taiyo - he/him - nonbender - 6 (lives at home, wants to be chief one day.)
I’m strongly considering writing a more in depth ‘Lin getting back to RC and being Chief again’ story and including this family more in it.
Yes he’s a grampy! I think it suits him lol. And of course Rei has the 4 year old call Lin ‘Aunt Lin’
Notes:
1- You’re going to look me in the eye and tell me this man is Younger than 45 minimum??

RxJ Week Day 6: Trust
@senshixshitennouweeks here it is my final late entry. I hope you enjoyed all of them and I'll try to post them on AO3 when I can.
If memories of a previous life in a society that was ancient even before the dinosaurs had set foot on earth, Rei had never trusted easily.
And why should she?
As wonderful as people like Usagi could be, people who could open their whole hearts to people no matter how strange or intimidating they seemed, Rei didn’t think she had it in her.
In Silver Millennium, she remembered pieces of conversations she held with people filled with curt answers and deflections, all to keep cow-towing and pernicious courtiers from getting too close.
As close as they got.
Prince Endymion’s personal guard.
Rei sighed and gave Deimos another pet as Phobos pecked at the seeds in the bird feeder.
She looked up and across the courtyard, where Jadeite (Jad, she had to remind herself) stood, sweeping the leaves. Just like she’d told him to do.
She sighed.
He and his “brothers” had been confusing a bunch since the beginning. Even at the beginning of all this, she’d had to listen to Usagi vent about Mamoru’s school boy teasing and wondering how someone so handsome could be so infuriating.
And then, mere months later, she was gushing about her prince and how he was just the best thing since handheld games.
Not that any of them had room to talk.
Ever since their resurrection, the Four Heavenly Kings had been a batch of confusing emotions.
No, scratch that.
Ever since meeting them in Silver Millennium, the Four Heavenly Kings had been a batch of confusing emotions.
First doggedly loyal to Endymion, then smitten with Princess Serenity’s own guard, then evil, then dead, then back to Endymion as ghosts before finally returning to the mortal plain as humans with unfamiliar names to boot.
It was a mess of contradictions exacerbated by too many reincarnations and first impressions.
Especially Jadeite.
That golden haired cipher had seemed to throw Rei for a loop every time she met him.
In fact, he didn’t even go by Jadeite anymore; it was just Jad now. He claimed to have known no other name since awakening.
According to Mamoru, his skill among the four was infiltration and stealth (which fitted with how often he adopted and shed disguises during his tenure with the Dark Kingdom). And yet, he most often adopted a level headed and bluntly honest, if sarcastic, manner outside of his duties.
It was a talent that aroused Rei’s suspicions.
She’d dealt too much with people who only had shallow reasons to put her trust in someone who so often met people wearing a different face.
Although, another part of her mind said, he is consistent in his manner.
Which was true, she thought as Deimos joined Phobos at the bird feeder. Even in disguise, he was usually polite and diplomatic, a far cry from some of the dubious sycophants she’d met at her father’s campaign functions.
Most of the time, they would just pour on syrupy platitudes like “you’re so pretty Rei” or “where have you been living all this time?”
The kind of small talk that made her want to gag.
Jad never seemed to do that. In fact, he never really threw out a complement, rather stating facts in a complementary fashion.
Still, she couldn't get a bead on him. And thoughts like this were storming in her mind for what must have been a month now.
It was getting ridiculous.
With a huff, Rei strode over to where Jad was working and snatched the broom from his hands.
"I thought you said I should sweep the leaves?"
"You can go back to that later. Do you want me?"
Rei felt herself fluster as she asked and from the color on Jad's cheeks, he must have felt the same.
"What?"
"Do you want me?" she asked again.
“To be honest,” he said, “I do want you. I have since Usagi resurrected me in the Cauldron.”
Rei wondered if her heart skipped a beat at his words. Jad only took the broom back from her.
“But I know you have your reservations about relationships. Usagi told me. So, I’d rather that if anything happened between us, it would be on your terms. All I want…”
He looked up at her, blue eyes shining with something frightening and Rei damned her heart when it went pitter pat.
“…Is for you to be happy.”
Happy. The word stuck inside her ribs and seemed to sprout something. Really, she didn’t know what and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to know. But, for his candor, Jad deserved an answer.
“I… don’t think I can start… anything with you… yet.”
Jad nodded, returning to his work.
“But,” she continued, “if you can wait, I think I can give you a chance.”
Jad paused in his chore, turning to look at her with an expression that mixed so many things; surprise, hope, maybe even love?
“But don’t think I’m going to save myself for you,” she continued, “if someone better comes along, I will give them a fair chance.”
Jad nodded.
“If our positions were reversed, I’d probably do the same.”
Rei couldn’t tell if she felt sympathy or frustration at the sentiment.
“And how long are you willing to wait?”
It came out as haughty, but really Rei was curious to know if Jad was serious about all this “waiting for her” business.
“For eternity, if that pleases you,” he replied.
