Every day I live in fear they will make a Zelda movie and they will have Link talk and I will hate it and Never be able to complain about it because know it all jack asses will act like they know more about Zelda than me and tell me there was no way they could make a big movie like that where the main character can‘t talk

Have you seen the demicolon?
yeah, i mean i've heard of it but like. idk i am surprisingly neutral on the concept? i mean it's a fun idea but also it's not really viable in a writing context (formatting-wise at least) so it just. eh.
(demicolon thing for context)

It has just been over a day since the Pokemon leaks happened and...
most of the internet over using furry comments and judgemental comments aimed at the Pokemon writers over some of the scrapped lore* that reflects irl mythos from multiple cultures that detail interspecies sex and messed up stories about rape only further reinforces my thoughts that critical thinking in relationship to art (in this case writing) is dead. Straight up, most comments are I see are along the lines of "How could they think this was okay to even speak and suggest as lore for a video game?!", when part of writing detailed stories involves world building. world-building (noun): the creation of a fictional world (especially within the science fiction and fantasy genres) that is believable and consistent within the context of the story. In this case, the context of the story is making up a bunch of stories about how Pokemon and humans have co existed for hundreds, if not thousands of years, but have the stories be similar enough to the players/watchers/readers that they can be familiar with this made up lore.
I am not saying it isn't shocking, but so many people are being scandalized over miscellaneous writers notes meant for other writers they worked with-depending on the generation as this had pokemon from multiple generations/games (most likely, if the scrapped lore was not injected to the hacked text documents by the hacker. This is the internet after all so who knows what is a complete truth, and the source is coming from someone that was ok with doxxing thousands of employees information to the internet).
We can still talk about the scrapped lore without treating it like it is an insane crime against humanity, when it reflects irl human myths that are thousands of years old. The most recognizable irl comparisons of fucked up mythos are the Greek mythos.
What do you think is the single most fucked-up Greek myth?:
Most messed up birth story in Greek mythology:
Art shouldn't be held to be pure of all dark subject matter, because then we have the whole moral purity panic dilemma in media and arts. "Pokemon is for kids." Yes, it is, but these pieces of info that the internet is now treating as canon, was withheld from the public. It was never suppose to be seen, and it was not GameFreaks decision to release it. It is only public now, because someone in Nintendo fucked up and lead to GameFreak Pokemon files being stolen by a Hacker, that proceeded to release all sorts of information, which we currently are not aware of how authentic each leaked pieces of info are.

AITA For Misgendering My God-Son?
I (M 42) have been in love with someone who I’ll call Laddie (F 41) for this post since we were in college together. Clearly, she loves me too, but was bewitched by the big, strong, oaf of a man that is now her husband. A man who, might I add, KILLED ME. I got better and now have a, let’s say, more spiritual way of life.
Anyways, since we were all childhood friends, once the couple (I’m gagging while typing that) had children I immediately became their god-parent. As of late I have been spending more time with their youngest (M 14) as we both follow the same way of ‘life’. There was rub at first, but I have become quite fond of the little punk. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for him, as he has come to loathe my very existence. Undeterred, I figured I could just use my outstanding intellect to clone him and make him my REAL son who is obedient and loves me!
Simple right? Well, not exactly.
Thanks to our spirituality, it created some pretty troubling difficulties that caused the first few batches of him to die horrifically. That one was my bad, but it’s just a part of science. Finally, I created a clone that didn’t destabilize and it was a fairly close copy! Downside? It was the wrong gender, as well as being a little over half his age physically. I had no clue how I had created such a blunder, but guessed I just didn’t have enough of his DNA. So, naturally I tricked the girl into believing that I loved her and would adopt her if she could capture the boy! (Of course, intending to dispose of her later) She did as asked, and I ended up having to torture the boy to receive the missing ingredient. This all came to a halt when the clone from before turned on me and help my god-son destroy all my research. All of the other remaining clones that I was working on ended up dying horrifically (part two) this time in front of my god-son and his (self proclaimed) clone of a sister.
It was after this, that he revealed me that the reason why the clone was a female was because he was AFAB, and I unthinkingly responded that ‘I didn’t know he was a girl.’ Of course he stormed off right after that before I could realize how bad my wording had been. Truly, I didn’t mean it in a transphobic way, I kissed a man in college and definitely don’t think about it every night! I have always been a trans ally! But he has been avoiding me ever since, most likely due to my comment as I can’t think of anything else that would illicit this behavior.
So, Am I The Asshole?

Hello. One question. Do you draw? Or is that just soup? Mainly asking because of your profile picture.
I do not, soup is far more talented than me.
Like, she's way younger than me and she does all this! English isn't even her first language!
The avatar is from ST_FROYed's artbook here, which is amazing and everyone should go look at it. I should have it credited on the art masterpost. (which hasn't been updated in a year-I keep meaning to do that)

So uhh christian linke saying Viktor is asexual?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First screenshot summarizes what was said, the other three are comments from the reddit post that I find very interesting
Here's the link included in the reddit post btw
Tumblr media
I have to preface this by saying Ive seen just few posts talking ab interviews and statements of linke, never watched a full length interview or anything of him, don't know the guy, but the whole Vi thing that ended up not being a bigger center in season 2 makes me being reluctant in believing other things he says, sorry.
Before even touching on the ace part, about the first paragraph talking about how a part of the fandom shipping Viktor and jayce had no influence to the writing for season 2:
Number one feels silly, because it seems the writers very much kept in touch with the community, and I'm a truther about Mage Viktor (very implied??? based on how you read the scene??) being a retcon and how some other scenes felt like they're somewhere on ao3, so how do I not know they still saw the community liked a lot whatever was going between those two nerds and changes were still made on their plot based on that(even if they kept it platonic). But I digress
Number two, why do I get the vibes this guy just has some personal vendetta against jayvik nation? And this is a case of "Ah! Gotcha! These guys are not gay cus uuuuh one of them is ace and I don't know the difference between ace and aro"?
To get into the ace part (and jeez this post is already getting long), I'm ace myself. That's the only representation I can speak for on Viktor, so I very much appreciate the different insights I've seen of disabled people talking about his character from their pov, even more in general.
I also don't ship jayvik so I won't discuss it in those terms.
I wasn't taking in consideration oh he's a very smart, scientific guy obsessed with his work, more on the shy, introverted side and that fits the stereotype. Oh he's disabled and disabled characters unfortunately tend to get seen through this "sexless" filter
Dint cross my mind, at least not consciously
I had a little headcanon of ace Viktor simply cus that's what my brain does with my fave characters that dont show on screen or on page or on whatever, interest in sexual attraction. And also "haha purple (from the hexcore) like the flag" is a silly joke.
But when it's in some form, in the media or outside of it, said by someone that had control over writing decisions? That feels different.
It DOES feel very much "Dumbled*re is gay" type beat. You can argue that in this show there's no rlly "I'm gay" n stuff moment, relationships are portrayed and that's it, and ace rep in this scenario can be tricky cus it's more of a "lack", more of a nothing to show than something to show
At the same time Viktor plot was booked and busy on trying not to die and then going full final jrpg boss, it doesn't feel like in the text there was actual resemblance of rep, resemblance of "oh we always meant him to be ace, actually". + Viktor isnt the only character who we don't see interested in Those Sort Of Things, are we supposed to interpret all those other characters also as ace? See, it gets tricky.
In conclusion
If I'll continue to think of him as ace, it'll be as a silly little headcanon of mine and not what feels more like someone having beef with the discourse of a mlm ship than actually confirming good representation
Because you hear him say oh Viktor isn't cold and an emotionless machine, we see a lot of his emotions and how human he is (well first resurrection arguably makes him cold and. Metallic.) so, cool ace rep. But that's not all the stereotypes are about, as also the comments I included point out, and my bro Viktor start falling into all the other check boxes.

If there is one takeaway from my blog I want you to have, it's that the website Animals 24/7 is not a reputable source. Anyone who has published a rabies article claiming that Tamil, India is in Texas has absolute shit for brains.

I’ve been thinking recently about all the comment culture discussions and the recent talk around authors’ archive-locking their fic and one of the things that bothers me is how I never really see those discussions centered around the author. The comment conversations are a mix of reasons why readers don’t comment, how to comment, and why comments are good, but I’m not sure I’ve seen something that centers the author as person. Instead it’s the broader community and its desire for “content” that’s centered: comments are good because they keep authors writing (which is, I think, broadly true though people vary in the particulars), but it’s hard to comment (also broadly true, also varies in the particulars), but lack of feedback means some authors stop writing (also also true). The goal seems to be to keep the fic flowing.
And no one is owed comments and no one is owed fic and if it’s harmful to your mental health to comment, or harmful to your mental health to keep your fic online, that’s far more important. Please, don’t take me as saying that you need to comment or that you need to keep making fic available. Reader and/or author, what is best for you comes first; what you are able to do or want to do comes first.
(As for the talk about how authors are bad for archive-locking fic and that they should be shamed and scolded for doing so? No sympathy. I have less than zero patience for that argument. It’s more than fine to feel sad or grieved that you have lost a story you loved or can no longer access it - it is sad! It’s why I download stories now. But an author can do as they wish with their creations; no one is owed fic.)
But none of this gets at the author as person. These discussions seem to return to the personal reasons why a reader wouldn’t comment and how the author as content producer is more likely to write if they get feedback, the goal to get people to comment so fic continues to be produced: put money in the vending machine so you can get a snack. But I think at least some of authorial angst is driven less by comments per se and more by the desire to be recognized and feel seen as people and not fic-producing machines. Authors have anxiety too. Oh, do some of us have anxiety!
To use me as an example, since I’m the only person I truly know: I have almost deleted fic or moved it to an unrevealed collection multiple times because of anxiety that is tied to feels of either not being seen or being seen and intentionally ignored; I almost did so yesterday. It hurts to be ignored, especially when you know that your fic was read and seen but ignored. And that would be one thing - no one’s required to like my work or my friends’ works but to pretend your story is unique when you’re clearly very, very influenced by those works to the point of rewriting dialogue and using the same plot points with the same plot items. It makes me as a person feel ignored and it is currently killing my motivation to write, because at times I am a fainting flower. (To be very clear, my reaction is me, and no one owes me feedback or whatever, or to listen to my navel-gazing.) And I don’t like when my friends and fellow authors are seen then ignored either: that very much makes me angry. But yes, anxiety. It's easy to feel invisible or to feel like you're not worth recognizing.
I do want to note that there are circumstances in which acknowledgement and recognition is owed. If you take direct inspiration from someone’s plot, or rewrite it, that needs to be acknowledged, and it bothers me when it’s not: it feels like being used. Likewise, one place readers do have an obligation to comment, barring extenuating circumstances, is if they are given a gift fic as part of an exchange or event that they signed up for.
So idk. I guess what I’m saying is that I often feel that people don’t see that there’s a person behind the ao3 author’s name and that person’s not recognized. It might be that which stings the most.
(While I used  “author” throughout, this applies to all people in fandom who create and share their works. I am an author, so that’s the perspective I’m speaking from, but there are many creative perspectives that are no less important. And of course, “writer” and “reader” are not exclusive categories and I’d guess that most of the former are also the latter. Likewise “artist” isn’t exclusive, nor “podcaster” or so on.)
One last point: I’m not sure it’s talked about how long it can take to write something? I’d guess that most of my one-shots have taken at least two or three dozen hours to write/edit/post and I’d say I’m probably of average speed (when I’m writing lol). For most authors, writing’s not quick; 5k isn’t dashed off in an afternoon but might take 40+ hours. It’s a labor and for most of us it takes time.

remember when i said over a year ago that vegapunk's arc would start revealing even more of sanji's power and potential and how hard that was worrying me? yeah
#i'm clearly talking to myself here since this blog is basically a corner of my brain#but last chapter having sanji deflect a light beam and both kizaru and franky reacting the way they did#and zoro commenting in wano you cannot possibly block a laser... lmao....lmao!#ooooh man i just. feel oda is cooking something for sanji. and since there was a parallel with the wings of the pirate king#in recent chapters (where oda typically shows both sanji and zoro fighting and not just one of them)#just... man. man! man. lol#i know i can't let myself go and talk about all things going through my mind anymore because of. lol guilt and fear of being annoying#but god. that moment stirred something in me. like you're resurrecting a fucking corpse#so i am both scared and excited about next chapters and what this means for sanji#i was saying from DAY ONE of this arc being centered about vegapunk that it would eventually#touch on sanji and this is it. this is happening#if this for some reason isn't it. and oda will for some reason just let this slide or die in the shadows? i won't understand it#because of JUDGE and VEGAPUNK and QUEEN being partners and being linked to vegapunk! like come on. the connection is there#and this laser deflecting thing seems to finally touch on this red thread i've been holding with both my fingers like an insane person#so yeah. lol. listening to a video right now about it and finally. FINALLY i see SOMEONE ELSE point out that#not mentioning judge still is giga weird. so here's hoping. here's hoping#also lol it was very fun to be on reddit and look at so many people being MAD that sanji managed to do that. and that we got a little bit o#mr prince vibes. LMAO STAY MAD. my boy is being treated good right now and i can't wait for oda to destroy me#(again) lol#GG rambles

Do you ever watch a video that has some interesting, confidently-delivered information in it that is immediately debunked in the comments as false with reputable backup and, despite you agreeing with the debunking, you feel like your eager brain has already soaked up the bad information like a carpet soaking up a stain and you have to hope it's not going to burble up later as "fact"? Continued influence effect is a real bitch
