It was a nightmare that jarred Cullen awake, the details of it already slipping away as his breath came in a rapid panic, shaking hands raking across his sweat damp face and into his hair. The lyrium withdrawals were getting worse, torturing his sleep with memories and visions, hauntings from his past and things he feared to come. And with the lack of sleep made the withdrawal worse, sending him spiralling deeper. How long until it would affect his ability to do his job? Before it got someone hurt? Was any of this truly wise?

He near jumped out of his skin as a warm hand cupped his cheek, a gentle voice telling him to breathe.

He was breathing, wasn’t he? But too fast, heart pounding, head spinning, unable to focus his vision in the dark.

“I… I can’t…” he panted out before the room filled with a soft glow of light, the scattered candles lit by a wave of a hand.

The hand on his cheek guided his gaze to the bed beside him where a familiar figure was sat up in bed next to him, red curls loose around her shoulders, his shirt hanging from her frame, concern in her ocean eyes.

“I’m right here,” she said softly, “Just breathe in time with me.”

Freya.

He did as she asked, slowing his breathing, matching the deep inhale and exhales she demonstrated until he finally calmed down, reminding himself that he was here, he was safe, whatever nightmare haunting him was not real.

“Maker,” he sighed, bowing his head a little to avoid her gaze, “Forgive me, I-”

“There is nothing to forgive.”

“You get less time to rest than I do, and yet again another night where I’ve disturbed your sleep.”

At the beginning of their love affair, it had started with stolen kisses out on the ramparts or when she could corner him after a meeting in the war room, finding excuses to take dinner in his office; often under the guise of working on reports together or assuring Cassandra and the Inquisitor that she would keep an eye on him as he went through the withdrawal. More physical intimacy had soon followed after a particularly close call at the Shrine of Dumat, the pair of them falling into bed together upon their return to Skyhold after a heating argument about taking risks to protect one another. Still, at first, she had kept her own space, leaving his bed to return to her own quarters. Until one day she simply… stopped. She found her way to his bed every night, and even if neither had the desire for anything more than sleep, she would stay the night in his arms.

“Cullen, look at me.”

It took him a moment, desperate to compose himself before he finally met her eyes again.

“There is nowhere I’d rather be.”

He took hold of her hand, pressing a gentle kiss to her fingertips, “What did I ever do to deserve you?”

She gave a soft, amused hum, and he could tell from the quirk of her brow that she was considering some witty comment, but it melted away, leaving only a look of adoration that still left him a little shocked.

She pulled away from him then, sliding out of bed, “Right, let’s get you a bath, you’re covered in sweat.”

“It’s the middle of the night,” he reminded her, “Don’t call on anyone.”

She smiled at him as she crossed the room and dragging his empty bath tub closer to the centre of the room, “You forget, darling, that magic has its uses other than on the battlefield.”

He watched with wonder as she cast an ice spell, filling the tub completely with solid ice before flames came to her palms and she melted it. She slid her hands into the icy water and released more magic, and soon the water began to steam with heat.

She went to the small trunk of her belongings that she kept in his room, rooting around in it, pulling out a few of her soaps and oils. She dashed a few of the fragrances into the water then beckoned him over.

He stood, padding closer to her. She didn’t hesitate to start stripping him out of his sweat soaked bed clothes. Once he was naked before her, she helped him into the water, smiling as he let out a relaxed groan, the hot water already soothing the aches in his body.

“There we go,” she said quietly, kneeling next to the tub, “Feel better?”

He nodded, “Much.”

He looked at her, and felt something tug at his heart. He had never felt so bare and vulnerable in front of her before. They had been naked together more times than he could count, but this was different. There was no lust here, no desire. It was affection and tenderness; the warm, caring look in her eyes.

She rolled up the sleeves of the shirt she was wearing; his shirt, and grabbed the soap.

“Love,” he said, “You don’t have to-”

“Hush,” she silenced him with a quick peck to the lips, “I know I don’t have to, but I want to. I cannot take away your pain, or the nightmares, but this I can do. I just want you to relax.”

She set to work, washing his hair, rubbing the aching muscles of his shoulders and back with her forever warm hands. He closed his eyes and for a long while, there was nothing but her; the smell of her in the bath oils, the soft touch of her hands, the quiet sounds of her humming under her breath.

He was only roused from his thoughts when he felt her hands on his face. He looked at her, her beautiful features lit by candlelight; the flickering flames giving a softer look to her usually vibrant hair and eyes. It was how she looked whenever he found her in the Chantry, praying quietly; often the prayers were for him, to help him get through the lyrium withdrawal, to keep him safe when she could not. He always stood as a shield against any danger that would come her way, but it was times like that when he was reminded just how fiercely protective of him she was as well.

“Come on,” she insisted, “It’s time for bed.”

He hauled himself out of the water as she passed him a towel. He wrapped one around his waist, but she sat him on the edge of the bed and dried his hair for him with another, smiling to herself at his rogue damp curls.

“Ah, the fierce Lion of Skyhold,” she giggled, twisting a finger into one of his locks.

He chuckled, “And where would the lion be without his lioness?”

He slid his arms around her waist and pulled her onto the bed, capturing her lips in a kiss. She kissed him back eagerly, seating herself neatly in his lap; her favourite seat in the entirety of Skyhold, she told him often. He quickly rolled her beneath him, their noses brushing together as took in the sight of her, a little breathless from the surprise, the exposed freckles on her shoulders as his shirt had slipped away to reveal more skin, her hair fanned out against the white of his sheets.

He kissed her again, hands grasping at her, desperate to devour her in any way he could. However much he had of her, it was never enough. Her mouth, her taste, her scent, her laugh, oh Maker that beautiful laugh, and above all, her kind, wonderful heart.

“I love you.”

His eyes went wide as he realised the confession that had slipped out of his mouth, but he just let out a breath, “I love you,” he said it again, as though he was realising it for the first time.

“Cullen…” she looked up at him, “Do you mean it? Truly?”

“I love you, Freya.”

“Say it again.”

“I love you.”

She kissed him then, desperately, and he could feel the tears slipping down her cheeks.

“Freya…” he tensed to pull back, but she clung tighter to him, words whispered against his mouth.

“Again, Cullen, please.”

“I love you.

She pulled him closer, hooking a leg around his hip, his shirt bunched around her waist, the towel falling from his. He kept saying it, confessing his love and devotion to her as their bodies connected, drawing sighs and soft moans from the woman beneath him, begging to hear those words again and again as he brought her over her peak and soon his own.

As he held her in the quiet afterwards, their limbs still tangled together, he could see that the were still silent tears being shed.

“Love,” he whispered softly, brushing away the tears from her cheeks, “Are you alright? I-“

“I love you too,” she said, her words barely a breath, “Maker’s breath, I love you so much.”

“Freya…”

She shushed him softly, burying her face in the crook of his neck, “Not tonight. Let’s just have this, us, tomorrow we can talk more. But tonight... I love you. Unashamedly and wholly love you.”

He wrapped his arms around her and held her close until she found sleep, his own coming soon after. Whatever demons his lady held of her own, he would keep them at bay. At least for tonight.

For Non Hoodoo Worker. How To Petition Saint Expedite.

I want to add Saints are not apart of hoodoo and shouldn't be incorporated together but if you want to use a saint with magic you can.

Saint Expedite Spell for Fast Results.

St. Expedite is one of the more favorable folk saints to petition when a situation is indire need. He works quickly and the trick to having success while petitioning him is to make sure of a few things.

1) Need. You should only petition him when you really NEED what you're requesting. Do not petition Saint Expedite for things that would be nice to have, or things that you want. Petition him when the going gets tough and you have no other options. (Example if you not in a relationship don't ask for love, or if you don't have a job don't ask to be successful things like that) remember spirits get burn out too.

2) Payment/ Offering. You must strike a deal with Saint Expedite as part of the petition. Ask clearly for what you need, then promise him that you'll pay him his due wages with ether a piece of pound cake and a glass of water along with some flowers, St. Expedite, it should also include an image of him and it can (of you want) include a rosary too. pay him after the work is done.

Here's how I typically petition Saint Expedite. I take a red candle then put one drop of Saint Expedite Oil, around the wick. ( Also would use Holly oil if I don't have that pacific oil for that saint.) I write down what I need in detail on a piece of paper then I dab a little Saint Expedite on the four corners and center of the paper.... I place this under the dressed candle by my Saint Expedite card. I place a vase of fresh flowers by the statue - red flowers or water on his altar space is preferred.

Prayer of Saint Expedite. (You can Make the sign of the cross if you choose to)

Saint Expedite, faithful and hard-working servant of our Lord, hear me. I come to you humbled and desperate, seeking your divine intercession on my behalf. You who have fought many righteous battles and know the pain of hard labor, help me in my hour of need.

I seek __________________________, for _________.

I pray to you, divine servant of God that you assist me now. I offer you your due wages of a piece of pound cake, a glass of water and flowers in thanks once you have assisted me. ( If you have more or less offerings say them) With gratitude and humble thanks, Amen!"

Let that candle burn all the way down. You can repeat this prayer every day until it has come to pass. Once the candle has burned out if you want to repeat the candle burning and prayers you certainly can but it is not necessary. You can wear Saint Expedite Oil if you want.

Paying Saint Expedite Once Saint Expedite comes through with your request, simply place a slice of pound cake on a plate in front of his statue or coins

Praising Saint Expedite It is also traditional to praise Saint Expedite publicly once he has helped you.

Cord and knot magic has been around for a long time. It is an easy alternative to candle magic and requires minimal supplies

Casting Instructions:

Cord and knot magic is a very old form of folk magic that was often associated with wind/weather magics. In cord magic, the spells are simply prepared ahead of time and then used as needed. Each knot is then untied releasing the power entrapped in the cord over nine consecutive days.

For cord magic, you will need a cord that is nine feet long (three times three; the traditional magical number) and is the color appropriate to the magical working. Smaller cords can be 9 inches long if you want something simpler to carry and store.

Because it is a magical tool, no one else should ever use your cord but you. Tie a knot in each end to keep it from unraveling. Consecrate the cord to your purpose when once the cord has been cut and the ends knotted.

The most common use of the cord is as a "storage cell" for power. The first knot is tied at one end, with the words "By knot of one, the spell's begun." At this point, chanting or meditation is appropriate until you feel it is time to

tie another knot.

The second knot is tied on the opposite end with the words: "By knot of two, it cometh true". Take "aim" at this time by visualizing your need or desire being fulfilled. As the power builds, more knots are tied until there are nine knots in the cord. (Not counting the ones you tied to keep the ends from unraveling.

Here is the pattern of tying, together with the appropriate words:

By knot of ONE, the spell's begun

By knot of TWO, it cometh true

By knot of THREE, so mote it be

By knot of FOUR, this power I store

By knot of SEVEN, events I'll leaven

By knot of EIGHT, it will be Fate

By knot of NINE, what's done is mine

At the tying of the last (ninth) knot, all the energy is directed into the cord and its knots, with a final visualization of the object of the work. The power has been raised and is now "stored" in these knots in the cord.

Why would you want to store a spell? For some magic, the time for it to happen is important.

Suppose, for example, that you want something constructive to happen but the most propitious time for it to do so happens to be close to the New Moon. Do you do your constructive magic during the Waxing Moon? No. You do it early on, at the Full Moon, using a cord.

Now the power is there, properly raised, but stored for use.

You have nine knots. Although they are all tied in one ritual, these must be released one at a time - one a day - for nine consecutive days. Release them in the same order in which they were tied, NOT the reverse order.

In other words, on the first day untie the knot that was first tied (to know which end you started with, when making the cord, braid in a small bead at one end and always start with this end); on the second day, the second knot tied; and so on.

In this fashion, the last knot untied, on a ninth day, is the ninth knot that was tied at the climax of the tying ritual - the time of greatest power.

Each day, before you actually untie, do your concentration on what is to happen, visualize and again build power. Then, as you release the knot, release the power.

Cords should be of natural materials, such as wool, the best, or cotton; however, if all you have are synthetic materials it will still work... Remember that the tool is not the Witch. The real power comes from within you.

Colors:

White - purity, truth, sincerity, spirituality, the goddess, peace, higher self, virginity(as in the woman's mind is owned by no man), a substitute for any other color.

Red - strength, health, vigor, sexual love, energy, passion, courage, an element of fire, career goals, fast action, lust, the blood of the moon, vibrancy, driving force, survival

Light Blue - tranquility, understanding, patience, calm, gently moving, wisdom, good fortune, opening blocked communication

Dark Blue - impulsiveness, depression, changeability, protection, spiritual inspiration, reassurance, creativity

Green - finance, fertility, luck, Earth Mother, physical healing, monetary success, abundance, tree and plant magick, growth, Element of Earth, personal goals

Gold - wealth, The God, promote winning, safety and power of the male, happiness, playful humor

Yellow - The Sun, intelligence, accelerated learning, memory, logical imagination, breaking mental blocks, selling yourself

Gold/Yellow - attraction, persuasion, charm, confidence

Brown - hesitation, uncertainty, neutrality, influence friendships, special favors

Welcome to ‘Weird Bloody Nightmares I Had’ where I post random nightmares from my dream journal. Every nightmare. For some reason none of them are actually scary, it’s more like watching Scary Movie - people are dying n stuff, but it isn’t actually scary.

On today’s show, we have ‘Nico’s next bots but school edition’ and ‘Jesus christ why did my brain do this’!

1) Running, running, I take a right into a classroom with a few of my friends following. Noah takes out a pen and begins writing on the carpet ‘F protect’ in frantic, scribbly hand writing. Josie grabs a small, turquoise stone from her rucksack and places it next to the writing just as a giant fork monster approaches the door. It reaches in, it’s hands a collection of sporks. It nearly grabs Josie but then it gets thrown backwards, the writing and stone on the floor disappearing. We take a deep breath and sprint out the door. We make it to a spot in the school in between four hallways, a lever in the middle. I slide and pull the lever with the momentum, the concrete scratching at my bare legs. Black, steel doors slam down and old, pen-stained carpet slides out from under them. We all fall to our knees, preparing to write when a monster comes for us. Josie drags a block out of her bag and pushes it next to the lever. It’s grey, made of concrete with a large crack down the middle. “Do you have a paint pen?” she asks. Black pens can stop any monster and paint pens can write on any surface. “Only a white one,” Noah answers. I shake my head. White pen only stops the fork. Josie groans and rummages through her bag and pulls out a whiteboard pen. They’re similar to paint pens, but they have a higher chance of failing. We hear a sloshing, thudding sound coming from one of the doors. Tomato monster. We push the concrete block towards the doors and Josie hands me a whiteboard pen. I start writing ‘T protect’ on the concrete block, then on the carpet. Noah puts his ear up to one of the doors. “It’s coming from this side.” I crawl to the door she’s at and re-write ‘T protect’. Josie throws me a rose-red stone and I jam it into the crack of the concrete block. I drag it as fast as possible to the door, Josie helping me by pushing it. The tomato monster roars on the other side of the door and everyone gets ready at the opposite door. I reach behind me, pull the lever and we all start sprinting. If the writing fails, it’s better to be already running than waiting for the protection. The tomato monster throws itself at the writing, the protection didn’t work. We continue sprinting down the hallway, the other two are a bit further behind me. Stairs. I slow down to hobble down the stairs before jumping from the last three steps and sprinting again. We’re in the lower levels of the school now, the younger students are here. The hallways are built weird to confuse monsters. I continue forward before taking a tight, last-minute right turn. I slip and crawl into a nursery classroom. I slam the door closed while the teacher stares at me, displeased. “Monster-”

“Write the protection spell. The monsters have been excited today so I haven’t had time to re-write it since the last attack.” I scribble some writing on the door ‘M protect’. It’s a general protection spell for classrooms and people who don’t know what monster is chasing them. I wait for a few seconds before running back out and finding my friends in a different, empt classroom. They’re writing the general protection spells at both doors. I stumble into the room.

Then the dream ends.

This lovely entry was written at 6 in the morning and I would like a finished story.

2) I walked into an abandoned, wooden house. As soon as I walked in, the exit was gone and the gaps in the wood were closed. I walked around, things falling over and hearing stuff until I came across Mollie and Professor. We walked around together in this wooden prison for a good hour until we came across something that wasn’t wood or a candle, a concrete staircase. We decided to be horror movie stars and walked down them. We came into a small dungeon-esque room where a man who looked a lot like my head teacher was standing. The stairs disappeared and the man threw an exacto-knife into Molly. She flopped backwards onto a red pool table she was sitting on. He then stabbed the professor to death with a similar blade. I pulled the knife from his hands and pinned him onto a table. I stabbed him in the chest with the blade while screaming that I was sorry and crying because he wouldn’t die and must be in so much pain. His blood was all over my hands. I slit his wrists and dropped the blade. Then he sat up, picked up the blade and grabbed my arms. He said that he couldn’t die and that he found it funny seeing people cry when they had to try to kill him. Then he stabbed me a bunch in the chest and I died with my eyes open, able to see him walk away.

Then I woke up IN THE DREAM STILL, in a fixed version of the abandoned mansion. All my classmates, including Mollie were sat at a long wooden dining table eating breakfast that Professor was serving, head teacher was nowhere to be seen. I assumed it was just a dream until everyone said that they remembered it, even the people that I didn’t see in the dream. Professor was gone by then though. I got up with Mollie and walked down the basement stairs. “I’ll have to ask Professor if he remembers what happened.”

Then the dream ended.

Why would my brain do this to me, that was like a genuinely scary dream.

Shower Thoughts

Abigail is a shower girl, singing her favorite punk rock songs slightly off key. Switches up her hair dye every other month. Otherwise, a pretty simple routine. Has mastered the perfect cat eyeliner and a little mascara.

Alex is a soak after a long, arduous workout, and drowns himself in Old Spice products. Uses an exotic scented shampoo - guava.

Elliott is a long bath kind of guy, complete with candles and rose petals, and a writing tray to capture his thoughts. Spends hours on his hair, nails, skin, etc. Immaculate self-grooming habits.

Emily has a whole wind down routine, complete with warm shower, meditation to find her Zen, and lofi sounds to lull her to sleep. Quick shower before work in the morning, fluff drys her hair. It's just that perky.

Harvey is particular about his grooming routine. Cleanliness is next to godliness. He's a shower-to-wake-up-in-the-morning kind-of guy and a shower-to-wind-down-at-night kind-of guy. Frequently shaves and grooms. Doesn't wear cologne so not to disturb his patients with allergies.

Haley spends hours in the bathroom, primping, curling, mani-pedi touch ups, fogging up the mirror with steamy hot showers. Heavy on the perfume. Light floral scents. Flawless makeup.

Sam is a quick cold shower in the morning kind-of dude. Whatever's on sale for cologne and deodorant. Showers daily and uses hair gel. Would totally play with Vincent's rubber ducky if he takes a bath.

Maru is a Navy shower kind-of gal. Freaky fast. She has better things to do with her time. Light sunscreen and a little lip gloss.

Sebastian takes longer than his sister. Rolls out of bed half awake and stands in the shower for a few minutes to be more alert. Thinks about weird stuff in the shower. Like the Reddit argument he had over how to pronounce GIF. The best ingredients for sushi. The weird dream he had last night about the Wizard, a clown, and a ghost dog walking into a bar...

Leah would skinny dip in the lake. Fresh water. Moonlight. Liberating. Not that she does it too often. Otherwise it's a short shower. Turns the shower off when soaping up to save water. Has the same hairstyle since middle school. Lip gloss, brush of dewy foundation, mascara, a little light earthy toned eyeshadow. There. Ready.

Shane avoids it as long as possible. Heavy heavy heavy on the Axe. Does the whole scruff thing. It works for him.

Claire falls asleep in the bath, with a glass of wine, reading a book. Wakes up in cold water realizing she needs to evaluate her life. Buys cheap cosmetics with her employee discount.

Victor is clean shaven... always. He's a normal shower guy, uses aftershave, a little citrus cologne. Sends out his dry cleaning.

Olivia is a luxurious bath lady. Loofah, bubbles, champagne, candles, facial, classical, sit back and soak... ahhhhh! Victoria's Secret perfume. Something strong and vanilla. She's got her makeup routine down pat. Red lipstick is her signature. Looks like a different person when she doesn't wear any makeup.

Penny is sad the plumbing doesn't work half the time in the trailer. She enjoys long soaks in the spa, sweating out her toxins, listening to nothing but the water when showering in the locker room. It's a nice change over her mom yelling at the game on TV.

Lance likes his spiked hair. Lots of mousse and gel to get it perfect. He's a shower-under waterfalls-bathe-in-the-ocean type of gent. Uses a sea salt scrub. Rugged deep woods scented cologne.

Magnus - why shower when you can just use a cleaning spell? Such a time saver! But if he must, he will set up his tub in the woods and soak under the stars.

Sophia - has a grape chapstick she loves, special orders her pink hair dye, washes her feet nightly, showers every other day, no look is complete without her cotton candy blush.

I decided to copy over some of the basics I put in my grimoire so I can access them even when I don’t have the physical book with me :)

Directions:

East: Associated with Air, the color yellow,

Elements:

Air:

Direction: East. Colors: Yellow, Light Blue, White, Silver. Zodiac: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Tarot: Swords/Spades. Magical tools: Incense, feathers. Air is the element of flexibility, instability, intellect, and detachment. It moves quickly, is good for workings involving change, movement, and speed. Air energy is also good for communication and contact with spiritual beings, and is linked to communication, mental activity, ideas, and social interactions.

Earth:

Direction: North. Colors: Brown, Green, Gray. Zodiac: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Tarot: Pentacles/Diamonds. Magickal tools: The pentagram, salt, and stones. Earth is the element of stability. It is solid, and has a very slow and steady energy. Good for spells involving slow change, patience, or gradual developments. Associated with permanence, grounding, security, and endurance.

Fire:

Direction: South. Colors: Red and Orange. Zodiac: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Tarot: Wands/Clubs. Magickal Tools: Candles, Wand. Fire is the element of clarity, passion, kinship, transformation, and inspiration. It is associated with vitality, creativity, action, daring, and enthusiasm. It moves fast, and is volatile and unpredictable. Fire energy is best for workings you want to kick up the power off, or that you want to see rapid change from. It is also good for spells involving transformation. It can also be used in banishing, divination, and purification.

Water:

Direction: West. Colors: Aqua, Blue, Indigo, Purple. Zodiac: Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces. Tarot: Cups/Hearts. Magickal tools: Chalice, Cauldron. Water is the element of movement, cleansing, and healing. It is associated with nourishing, cleansing and clearing, purification, intuition and emotion, creativity, lunar energy, growth, and abundance. Water energy is changable and unpredictable, but slightly less volatile than fire. Water energy is good to call on for change or to stimulate movement, or for cleansing, healing, and purification magic.

Spirit/Ether:

Isn’t technically an element, but is often treated as one. Is represented on the uppermost point of a pentagram. Spirit links the 4 elements, is associated with the divine.

New Moon: New beginning, refreshment, restarts, planning, ideas, a time to start new projects:

Waxing Crescent: Setting intentions, growth.

First Quarter: Decision making, action, reflection on decisions, change.

Waxing Gibbous: Clarification, detail, assessing goals.

To use a pentagram for summoning/invoking, draw the pentagram so that the first line goes towards the point of the element being invoked, or the element what you are invoking is associated with. To banish, the first line is drawn from that point away.

Uses of a Pentagram:

Creating a comfortable place for a visiting spirit, opening a window to the energy of a certain element or the being/thing invoked.

Personal vs Book - When own experiences don't match with the Manual To Be A Witch.

This will be, probably, a little "going for the branches" post lol. And this is mainly made new witches or lost ones. The basic starting idea is "Pink is the color of love, but for me, love is soft green... What do I do? I follow the basic witchy color theory or I go with my guts?" The fast answer? Go with your guts, ALWAYS. The long version? This post!

Let's start for the beginning: Witchcraft is a craft, but mostly a SPIRITUAL PATH, and a way to live. If this three things are not going in tune, then you need to stop and re think what are you doing. And I mean: - A craft that don't need to be expensive. Craft need be accessible. Remember from where the witches come... a hint? Not from the shops. I know, aesthetic is a trend this days, but your spells will not work better because the walls of your room are covered by fancy rocks. You can do magic with literally energy, so if you are stressed because you don't have 43 blue candles to the next spell, is time to stop. - A spiritual path... I think I don't need to say too much... But your soul is the main source of each one of your spells, is the top ingredient. Are you taking care of it? Are you really thinking in the universe and the natural world? Or you give 5 fucks? - A way to live: Because you can act in a opposite way of what you think. If you do that, is called hypocrisy.

Based only in that, each witch will have a ton of different experiences based in what they can afford, how they feel the world and how they live their lifes. So, the way they do their craft will be so diverse as so many witches are, for the simple fact that, for their own historicity, not all will mean the same to them. And this can also be apply to so many things as egg cleanse (*looking hard the new baby witches who don't even do their basic research and go to reddit to ask WhAT DoeS tHIS MeaN 4 times at day*), tarot, pendulum, any other divination, dreams, ingredients to spells, colors, symbols, animals and pretty much the 99% of the craft.

Then you would say now: "Okay, and then why we had a Book of Shadows and we read so many books if, for what you say, it doesn't matter?". Because, IT MATTERS. Make a Book of Shadows and read books, are the first steps of any witch. Why? Because you need a base, undestand how the things are made, why are they made, how, when, etc. Learn is something that you will never stop to do, and practice is something that come in hand with it. So yes, at first we all start with the "manual to how make a sigil" and "which ingredients I can use to make a protection jar?" and 7868 books. Because that's how we learn, taking notes, knowing the why’s.

But as soon you start to get experience (and develop more thinking), you start to notice that some correspondences seems to not match with your own personal view of life. Red is a violent color, but for your own past, the red have some sad nostalgic air. Roses are a love flower, but you associate it with an ex, so are a flower of hate. Butterflies are pretty but you had a phobia to them and they nearly mean death for you. Snakes are symbol of a traitor, but you love them, so for you they mean beauty. You had a dream with a puppy, which could mean something good, but it remember you to a lost beloved pet, so now the technically good dream is now bad. Quartz are epic but you hate them... The Star card always scare the shit of you and The Tower is funny. A tall flickery flame mean warning for you and a straight smoke is a bad omen.

Personal examples? The typical "This Element go to this Cardinal Point"? Not for me. For me Water is in the East because the ocean is there. Wind is South because the hardest winds come from there. Earth is West because there are the mountains. Fire is North because the hot air come from there. The "spiral to different sides to attract or banish"? Fuck, use the intention, I don't even make a spiral, I just scratch gently with curving motions to attract and hard violent scratchs to banish. Don't blow the candle? I fucking blow it with INTENTION. Puf flame gone as the bad energy around me! Or puf flame gone so the light fly towards this person to heal!

What you do then? You follow the book? No, you follow your guts. WHY? Again, because your craft is based in intention. Intention is a deep action based in your mind and soul. If your mind and soul are in conflict because you think and feel two different things based in a correspondece that don't match with you, then your intention will be kinda fucked.

And not even mention that you need to establish the meaning of the stuffs before do it. Then your Book of Shadows will start to change. You will start to add what these things mean to you, in tune with your own soul. And now that previous average "copy and paste" from tumblr posts become in a personal journal of past experiences, meanings and ideas.

So, yes, read as a madman, fill that Book of Shadows, know how the things are made, how others made their stuffs and why, THEN start to practice, mix your own past and present life, play, be creative, try new things, don't be afraid to change stuffs, made your own set of cards, use stones from the ground, made your own celebrations, put the elements in the Cardinal point that you feel is the best, if you want that bubbles in a egg cleanse mean a fart, go for it; if you want the reversed cards be extra good, then let's go!

Just remember this: You needed help to learn to walk, but in the end, you ran by yourself.

SINGULARITY

summary: a millennium ago, your heart was broken by the only boy who loved you. a forever later, his heart was broken by the only girl he ever loved. genre: angst, vampire and witch!au (y/n is a witch). warnings: none, heartbreak. a/n: listen to/loop ‘singularity’ while reading.

The old birch door swung open with a creak, the rusted sign clattering in the eerie wind. You sighed. This place was old, and there might not be any Wi-Fi here. But it was your only shot at getting a good night’s sleep without the possibility of being murdered or robbed.

The empty road was dangerous at night and you were almost out of fuel, deserted in the middle of nowhere, miles away from Seoul. It was spooky so quiet.

There was a soft ring as the door shut and a different kind of ambience filled the velveteen walls with a ghostly light and you felt at home. A pale woman with a hunched back and greying hair appeared at the front desk - which was also birch. Birch and rusting. Like the wood was so old it rusted like metal.

A cold breeze blew and the lady frowned, raising up her tortoiseshell glasses to her face. “We haven’t had any visitors for a long time... especially since... gosh, it’s been a while. He’ll be very happy, yes, you do look quite like her. Perhaps... perhaps the time has come... a millennium, she said... perhaps it is now time for me to rest... if only...” she appeared to be talking to herself.

You took a step back. You didn’t like this place as much as you originally did. It wasn’t as fancy, more scary. It didn’t help that the woman was really, really creepy, either.

Despite your discomfort, the lady smiled, clearing her throat, the attention of her gazed eyes turning to you. “But of course, it’s far too dangerous for you to stay outside! Especially not at night...” she shivered, like she’d been reading your earlier thoughts.

“Follow me, dear, there’s a room down the hall. Unfortunately, you will have to share, as the other six have been occupied for quite a long time, if I do say so myself...” she chuckled at her own joke, though you didn’t really understand it. The place looked kind of empty. “We can move your things inside once you’ve settled in.”

“Oh, no,” you interrupted her quickly, “thank you, but I’ll just be staying overnight.” you might not even stay the whole night. You’d probably find a way to sneak out later without offending the old woman, she looked lonely.

The lady chuckled sadly, “that’s what they all say, isn’t it? He always lures them here, looking for her. Poor man. Feasts on all those pretty girls. In and never out, just like clockwork. Leaves the rest for his hyungs. You’re different, though. Perhaps there is something about you, he might like, hmm? I wish you farewell and good luck, dear, this is your stop. I hope you enjoy reading.” with a tilt of her hand she waved, and then she was gone.

The door swung open by itself, whistling in the air. It was pretty spooky, and it wasn’t even Halloween yet, it was May, but the interior designers obviously didn’t think so.

The Victorian walls were laced with black swirls that looked like cobwebs. The mirror on said wall was round and coloured an ominous black shade. The bed was black and ghastly, with black and red sheets. Above it hung a black clock that seemed to be broken.

You checked yours, and it appeared to have stopped as well. You clicked your phone but the screen remained dark. You began to back out of the room, instincts shouting danger. The door slammed shut. The candles, scattered all over the room in black mantles, flickered, their flames swaying in the breeze as a lump formed in your throat. Whoever was here was trying to scare you, and it was working.

“Aren’t you a pretty little thing?” a thick, chocolatey, hollow voice oozed out with warmth, making you jump. The voice chuckled at your surprise obnoxiously. You turned to the corner of the room, where a man with dark hair, pale skin and a ruffled white collar sat at a writing desk, returning his fountain pen to the pot of ink.

The beautiful man smiled, getting up. “Chaewong really outdid herself this time...” he murmured the words quietly, taking a step forwards, approaching you carefully. “What a brilliant witch she is, hmm?” the woman at the front desk was a witch? Now, that didn’t make any sense.

“Am I high?” you didn’t mean to say. The man glared at you and you were afraid you’d offended him but thankfully, he sighed, uncrossing his arms.

“Your generation... you’re all so naïve.” he scoffed at his own words, prancing around you like a predator stalking his prey; as if he were some kind of higher power. You frowned. What did he mean, ‘your generation’? You were the same age as he was, if not a few months younger. Anyone could tell.

“Look,” you went with your guts. “I get that this is a joke. So, you got your eomma into it somehow, and got a bit of technology for it, too. I gotta say, great job on the set. But this is getting really creepy, and I just really need a place to stay. I don’t mind sharing a room with you, but if you don’t mind just backing off for a bit -”

Your own eomma had always said you were bad at choosing words of speech. The man growled before huffing and uncrossing his arms again. “You always were the same, weren’t you? Stubborn. Forgetful. Ignorant.” he laughed at forgetful and you clenched your fists; you really didn’t like this guy’s vibe.

“Alright, that’s it. I’m going to call the police. You’re going to jail for harassment. See here? I’m going to call the police on you.” you wove your phone around even though you’d been having trouble turning it on.

The man sighed sadly, “that won’t work.” he hung his head low, sniffing. The voice that dripped confidence now dripped misery. “I’m sorry, Y/N... I learnt my lesson. I really did. I love you forever. I didn’t mean to court her. I only ever wanted you; only you.”

“How do you know who I am?” these serial killers were dangerous on a whole new level. The black-haired man sighed, pushing back his dark locks. “Magic doesn’t stop time,” he murmured sadly, “but love does.” He stepped closer, hoping, praying, that you recognised those words. All you recognised, however, was that you needed to get out of here, and fast.

“Magic always came with a price,” the man continued on, “but you won’t remember that.” you felt sorry for him, perhaps he had a bad case of amnesia. “You’re the one under a memeory spell! Your own, if I do recall.” could everyone here read your thoughts? “Yes,” he crossed his arms, “yes, we can.”

“‘We’?” you thought out loud. The tall man grumbled loudly. “You used to know them. And it’s your fault you forgot them. They are members of our kingdom’s court.” now he was talking nonsense. “I am not talking nonsense,” he retorted, “merely the truth. You knew them, once, and you left them. But nevermind that. You’re here now, and right now all that really matters, is us. You and I, together again.”

He advanced, and before you could object, hooked an arm around your waist, and placed a kiss on your lips. You gasped, but not from the kiss. A white light flashed through your mind at an instant; a thousand memories tumbling into you all at once, pouring the heart back into your soul.

The boys at the palace were brats. They had you set the table only for them to mess it up again. They would send you to fetch things, only for them to tell you to return them shortly after. You went to school, hoping to make friends, only for them to have spread a rumor about you weeks before.

They did get better throughout the years, though, and began treating you as an equal. As their friend. And you didn’t mind, being the only girl in a group of eight. You liked it.

But you liked one of them in particular, more than the rest. He was kind, quiet, beautiful, and he felt absolutely heavenly. His soft voice always sung you to sleep. His warm heart always comforted your broken one. He was the closest that you’d ever been to someone. He was -

“Kim Taehyung.” you spoke into the breath, gasping out the tears. You felt like someone had torn you open, pulled out your heart, thrown it away for years, only for you to find it again. “I’m sorry,” he choked, “I didn’t mean to. She. I was helpless, she...” only to find it broken again. “Please, please forgive me.” the words stung. “You let her,” your voice broke, “you let her make you a monster.” Taehyung flinched at your words.

“She made me,” he insisted, still holding you tight. “She made me. I couldn’t let her get to you, I couldn’t. I couldn’t let her turn you into...” he choked again, “into what I am.”

Suddenly cold, you turned around, back facing him, taking a step forwards. “No!” his voice towered through the walls. Chairs and tables worked together to form a barrier that trapped you in with him. “Please,” his thick voice was shaky, “please let me love you.”

A single tear bit your cheek on its way down. That was as much as you would allow yourself over this man. He’d broken your heart one too many times.��“I’m sorry, Taehyung,” you shook your head, shaking silently with tears. “But I love you too much.”

He moaned with such misery that you wanted to break down and cry on him, just like you used to all those years ago. “At least break the curse,” he pleaded, “none of those girls are anything compared to you.” your heart screamed at you. Your lip trembled, “it’s already broken.” you knew he was frowning, “true love’s kiss.”

Candle Color Correspondences

Many people like to use colored candles in their practices. Each color has its own meanings and uses. If you wish to use color for your spells below is the different colors and how they can be used.

Red candles

Issues, Intentions and Powers:

Red Candles are used for energy, health, vitality, vigor, and is used to represent the element of Fire. Red is physical and bestows energy (general, dynamic, receptive, sexual), dynamism, passionate love, physical desire, will power, and athletic ability (especially competitive). Red is used for arousing anger, pure lust and for physical gratification. Red is a fiery color that attracts and magnetizes, and it certainly is a hot aphrodisiac, it represents blood, sex, fertility, defense. Red candles incite passion in love spells, for sexual love - burning hot and fast, but much more passionate than romantic, holding too much energy to be gentle, but enough to be very sexual and fertile. Red candles help to eliminate pessimism and negative attitudes, and gives strength against enemies.

Red candles are used for fast action, activity, ambition, assertiveness, battle, competition, combativeness, desire, drive, exercise, lust, mechanical ability, sex, sexuality, sports, stamina (physical), strength (physical). Red incites accidents, fires, and injuries. It is used in spells to invoke power and intensity before workings of black magick. Red is inflammatory and is used in spells for revenge, anger, courage, determination, and dealing with enemies. Red can be used for protection against psychic attack and for self-confidence. The color red is firmly rooted in the physical world. The burning of red candles is said to put one in touch with the power of the flesh. Red represents temporal pleasures. It symbolizes passion and love as well as scorn and courage to stand up to one's enemies. Red is associated with Physical work, as in healing of people and animals. Also physical passion. Red is the power color. It is associated with command, the 1st (Root) Chakra. Red is the color of inspiration, pride, anger, bravery, strong emotions, purification, arid places, aggressive music (especially drumming like a heartbeat), and lightning storms. Red is the best color to ward off danger. Use it for stability, grounding, and physical health.

Red stimulates fertility and personal power, it is the color of Mars, the god of war, and is the color of courage, determination, sexual passion and potency. Red candles are burned to increase the life force, for survival, physical health, pleasure, will power and to rouse anger - not the petty anger of spite, but the righteous anger that, if directed positively, can overcome injustice and bring about change. This is therefore a very powerful color and should be lit for worthy aims only and when you are in a positive frame of mind. Those who light a red candle are tapping into Aries and Scorpio energy. It is the color of Alchemy, and the magickal arts and sciences of transformation, and increases magnetism in rituals.
