✦ Pairing: Arthur Morgan x Fem!Reader ✦ Summary: Karen explains Mary and Arthur's story to you. Saddened, you're convinced you could never compete with her until the man in question proves you wrong. ✦ Warnings/Tags: Self-depreciation from both sides, kissing, comfort, fluff. Reader has been with the gang for a year. Use of Y/N. ✦ Words: 3k ✦ a/n: This is the answer to this ask by the lovely @crystalofmoon19. I really hope you'll like it, dear! And thank you for your support, you've been really sweet to me and my work! As always, I got carried away and wrote way too much. And as always, please reach out to me if you spot any misspellings. Also idk why I made this in Colter, guess I just feel way too hot rn and want some fresh snow + Arthur's coat is perfect for comfort. Credits. Arthur's pic is from my playthrough. Other pics are not mine found them on Pinterest. AO3

“And in the end, she rejected his proposal, then a few months later, sent him a letter telling she was marrying some wealthier gentleman!”
Your mouth hangs open in the air. Karen’s words enter through your ears and create a nice little nest for themselves in your brain. You had no idea. No idea Arthur had been this close to being married. That their relationship had been so strong, that, according to hearsays, he had reached his lowest after their break up, drunk most part of the day, fighting the rest of the time, obnoxious to everyone, even Dutch and Hosea.
“Y/N? You’re okay, there?” Karen asked you, disappointed her big reveal had left you reactionless.
You focused your gaze back on her. Her blonde hair is softly litten up by the setting sun, her breath exhaling a puff of steam as she breathes. Colter is a cold place, and it probably felt even colder because of the morose mood of the gang. You suddenly remember you’re supposed to be shocked. You are, of course, but in a very bad way. Not in an “Oh my God, I can’t believe this Karen, so much gossip!” kind of way.
How could you ever compete with that?
“Yeah, I’m alright. God, I had no idea so much happened between them.”
“Oh, trust me, it was definitely his biggest love story. Never saw him get into someone else after her. Not even Mary-Beth! Could you believe that?”
No, you couldn’t. You weren’t sure why but every word from Karen felt like an enormous stone falling into your belly and dragging you deeper and deeper into the sea. Your silly little crush on Arthur, when you first joined the gang a year ago, had turned into a way stronger attraction. Denying it at first, you had little by little let your emotions win, cherishing every moment with him, thanking Dutch for assigning both of you to the same missions, loving the quiet evenings where he would just sit next to you around the campfire to scribble in his journal while you would do your little hobby on your own. Silent most, but enjoying each other’s company, and so, so peaceful.
More than your emotions, you even had let your imagination take the lead, dreaming about a selfish future with him, seeing it every time he would give you a smile, or laugh at one of your jokes. A happy Arthur, relieved from his obligations, enjoys life's simplest joys. A house, a garden. Maybe a dog, considering he had loved having Copper. A marriage even. And why not a child? If he would feel ready. Something in you was telling you he would be a good father.
But now, you felt like this dream was rotten, condemned.  Like a broken match. The fire, the very thing it’s designed for,  not being able to be lit. Would never be lit. A wasted potential.
You tried to continue your gossiping chat with Karen, voice light but gaze elusive as you peeled the potatoes you were supposed to prepare while discussing, tedious tasks often ended up less difficult this way when you were working with the other girls. But behind your seemingly normal smile and hollow words, a haunting thought was hanging on to you as strongly as a rock trapped in a thousand-year-old iceberg.
Arthur never fell in love again after Mary Linton.
Night had definitely fallen on the frozen mountains. After your endless vegetables centered-chores, you had helped Mr. Pearson turning them into a decent meal, his incessant blattering about the Navy giving you some sort of distraction. During dinner and after though, once you didn’t have any goal or job left to do for the day, your conversation with Karen came back into your wandering mind, her speech playing again and again like a used gramophone record.
Never fell in love again...
Sitting at one of the corners of the big cabin you had been sleeping in for the past few days along with the girls and some other gang members which mainly served as a common space, you were looking outside by a dilapidated window. A frozen World spread out before your eyes, every inch of surface covered in snow and ice, the landscape ending up looking like it was coated with a thick strange substance —dark blue colors Queen of this gloomy, misty horizon.
Arthur had returned from a very busy hunting day with Charles. Thanks to them, meat had been added to the vegetable paradise of a meal, resulting in a better-than-usual supper. He should have felt cheerful, but his mood wouldn't lighten.
He had spotted you from across the room, noticing the hurtful absence of your smile on these sweet lips of yours. Smile he secretly loved. Lips he secretly fancied.
Hesitating for a long moment, debating with himself, a self-depreciative rambling turning in his head like a well-oiled motor, he had ultimately decided to join you and investigate. Something pretty important must been bothering you, because loosing your usual little grin and eating your plate all by yourself really wasn't in your habits.
Approaching you, his boots and spurs clicking and stomping before you could see him, he plants them in front of you, standing there while his eyes lock on your face.
“Miss Y/L/N? Is everythin’ okay?”
“Oh, Mr Morgan. Yeah, don’t worry. Everything is great.”
He doesn’t believe you and honestly, you wouldn’t have convinced yourself either. And Arthur is a stubborn man. A stubborn, and caring one. He leans against the cabin's old creaky walls, on the other side of the window.
“Come on, don’t lie t’me girl. Everyone noticed you’re not in your right mind.” He honestly doesn’t know about everyone, but he surely did. His words are accompanied by a small, polite smile.
“I don’t think… I don’t think you’re the right person to talk about it.”
Arthur’s entire body froze. The hands he had on his belt as always when he was comfortable, flew to his chest as he crossed his arms, his thick winter coat folding with difficulty. His encouraging smile flattened, his brows pleating in a harsh frown.
“Erm… Alright, I get it. I won’t bother you, I guess.”
Without loosening his arms, he pushed himself from the wall, taking a step to leave you some space. You couldn’t have missed it. This change of behavior, the hurtful expression he had displayed, as if he was truly pained by your words. Disappointed, maybe even shameful to have thought he could help you at all. He was just a sad, ugly bastard, after all.
You felt like you could hear all of it from where you were, and see it in the shadow that had taken his face and the gigantic mass that seemed to have fallen on his shoulders.
No, you didn’t want this. Didn’t want him to feel like that because of you and your stupid feelings, or your own dark thoughts.
“Wait, Arthur!”
He turned around the second you talked again.
“I’m sorry it’s just…” You sigh and look at him with an uncertain expression, knowing your next words were going to be risky. “It’s about you and Mary Linton…”
His eyes turn into two literal plates, his mouth slightly opening in outer astonishment. This was really not what he had in mind. You could have been sad because of a hundred logical reasons, the death of Davey and the loss of Sean and Mac, the complete fiasco of Blackwater, the hundred of dollars lost, the terrible and tough conditions of the Grizzlies plunging everyone into an unbearable cold and a threatening famine.  Not mentioning Hosea’s alarming coughing, Dutch’s mysterious decisions, and Micah as a whole.
But you, out of all these things, were worried about Mary.
Once his eyes had grown as round as they could, they got back into an interrogative expression, the wave of surprise over.
“Wha’…?! How d’ya even know ‘bout her?”
“Karen speaks a lot when she’s bored…” You briefly explained, trying to sound detached.
Arthur rolls his eyes to the Heavens. Of course, folks talked, and you had to know about it all at some point. But this wasn’t ideal at all. He would have preferred to tell it to you himself, at a time he would have felt comfortable doing so, with his own words. He didn’t want this to change anything between the two of you.
“And erm… What exactly bothers ya?”
You open your mouth to speak, but your words are jammed. Explaining that you feel jealous of what the both of them had shared would just come down to confessing your feelings for him plain and simple.
You felt completely stuck.
He’s right there before your eyes, the very source of all your worries and your every joy. Looking at you with those confused blue eyes, wondering what is happening in this pretty head of yours. But the words still won’t come out.  You feel more and more powerless, and instead of a sound, your eyes take over to get something out of your body, slow and sad tears filling them like a lonely glacier fills a mountain lake on its own.
Arthur’s usual frown furrows, his wrinkles more visible, contrasted by the shadows from the warm lights of the fire. Suddenly, his internal melancholic speech shuts down, as if the view of a single tear streaming down your cheek were absolutely intolerable to him. No worries nor anxious self-restraints crosses his mind —it’s now only instinct. He sees you crying. He has to help you. This is as easy as that.
His right hand reaches to you by itself.
It feels warm but coarse. This big, big hand on the side of your face.
“Oh, Y/N. Don’t waste those pretty tears for a sour-faced idiot like me.” His thumb gently wipes the drops of sadness that had overflowed from your two delicate lakes. “Come on, les’ jus’ talk about this somewhere quiet.”
Arthur gently uses the hand he had on your cheek to wrap it around your shoulders, solid arm gently pushing you up. He then leads you through the door, other members throwing curious gazes at the both of you.
But he doesn’t care. His priority, right now, is your well-being, and some privacy to allow him to finally whisper things in your ears he should have a long time ago. Not in front of everyone. Not with the other men looking at your sparkling eyes, and listening to the change in his voice he knew would crack, his usual intimidating persona crushed into a million pieces with only the sound of your own. Or with the other girls hearing the oh-so-important words he had to say. No. You would be the only one to witness this.
He had brought you to the barn where the horses were kept. The snow was falling lazily, a few flakes passing through the holes in the dilapidated roof. The place is enveloped in a heavy silence, as if it was muffling every sound coming from the outside.
Once Arthur had closed the big wooden doors behind you and before he could do anything else, you finally burst.
“I shouldn't cry, I’m so sorry Arthur, I just… She looked like an incredible woman, so beautiful a-and distinguished, and me well… I'm just… me.” Your eyes fell to your feet. You like everything was coming out of you all at once and you couldn't contain it anymore.
“Stop it.”
“How could I ever mean something to you? You've been with her for so long and even proposed to her and… and never fell in love again after her and…”
“Stop it, Y/N!”
Arthur cut your blabbering panic by pulling you against him. He held you so tightly you were almost crushed by his powerful arms, but it felt so good. Like he was holding together all the little pieces of you that had cracked, melting them with his warmth and molding yourself again with it.
“Now you l’sten to me, sweetheart. I don’t want ya to say things like this ever again.”
The sudden use of the pet name soothed your heart immediately. You buried your face into the furred collar of his big winter coat, the hairs tickling your nose. There, you can feel a little bit of his bare skin, your cheek finding shelter against it.
You stopped talking.
You just wanted him to continue to. His deep voice seemed to come directly from the inside of his chest, and you could feel it vibrating before actually hearing it.
“Ya know I’m no… Am no poet or, or good with words like Dutch…” He started, visibly unsure of what he was going to say. He’s relieved he had initiated the hug, this way, with your face in there, you couldn’t see his. The worried expression it was carrying, like a burden. “But lemme tell ya just how much I care about ya. Oh, my sweet girl.”
This is it. He tries not to but his low tone begins to tremble. It’s so strange. It feels like forever since that happened for the last time.
“Yeah, Mary has been a real’ important part of my life, I won’t lie to ya. But it was so long ago, gorgeous. So long ago.”
He knows he won’t shed a tear. He never cries. But his hands shake. His vocal cords vibrate in a vulnerable, softer, and higher-pitched quaver. His body tenses, heart as fast as if racing with a million wild horses galloping in the Great Plains. Even if his words couldn’t explain just how much you meant to him, you could have guessed by how you were affecting his entire flesh.
“Ya know what? It’s true. Our story ended badly. I never fell in love again after her.”
You sigh, more tears wetting your face and his blue coat, this truth so hard to swallow.
“Until that morning, when I saw you brushing Boadicea’s mane; your hair all covered in hay, the brightest smile I ever had the chance to witness on that sweet face o’ yours. That day, I knew my stupid foolish heart had done it all over again.”
You let out a single chuckle mixed with tears and emotions, so relieved. Even when you felt like you were at your lowest, he succeeded at making you smile.
“Grimshaw had forced me to groom all the gang’s horses to “get used to camp’s work”. Must have looked terrible.” You remembered with a smile, details of your first encounter with Arthur flooding your mind.
“You looked like a goddamn Angel, honey. T’was like the sun was shining jus’ for ya. Jesus, I knew it was too late for me.”
You pulled back from him just a little, enough for you to look at him in the eyes, but not for him to let go of you. Now that they had found you, his hands, still slightly quivering, refused to let go, their place on your back and behind your head feeling so natural and right. Your eyes behave the same way as them but with his face. He looks so moved that you have to pinch yourself internally to make sure you’re not dreaming this whole thing; never in your life you had seen him like this.
“I love you too, Arthur.” You confessed back to him, fingers cupping his cheeks in a delicate touch.
You had to stand on your tiptoes to reach his face, but his arm helped you, your lips gently discovering themselves, brushing against each other in a soft and shy caress. Even if both your mouths were chapped by the biting cold, it was the most gentle kiss you had shared in your life, a satiny embrace that left you completely dreamy and light-headed.
The snowflakes silently swirl around the both of you, Nature the only witness of your souls melting into each other.
Opening your eyes again after this moment out of time, you're met with the happiest smile Arthur ever had on his face. He looked like and idiot in love, and you were sure you looked exactly the same.
“Please darlin’, don’t ever compare yourself to her ever again. What’s in the past stays there. And I wanna have a future with you.”
Your dreams sprang back straight from your heart to your mind. The visions you had about the both of you were more alive than ever, reinforced by his own needs shared with yours.
“You’re sweet, you’re funny, you’re so smart and stunningly gorgeous. And, you wan’ a proof?” He playfully asks you, taking his hat off his head, a thin layer of snow falling from it.
Turning it over, he carefully pull a piece of paper out, hidden between two leathered segments in the inner part of his hat. His cut and reddened fingers unfold it and he gives it to you, his big smile turning into an embarrassed and sheepish one.
It’s a sketch of you.
You’re mesmerized by the details of it, the blades of hay messily tangled in your hair, the sparkling in your eyes, the exact clothes you were wearing that day. This smile, you’re more than certain he drew it way more beautiful than it really is. Arthur even had added some lines traced from your head to the end of the paper, as if you were the Sun itself and were emitting your own light.
This was impossible this was the same person as you, her beauty was too radiant and fascinating.
But no matter what you thought about yourself, seeing his work curled your lips in the exact same way as yourself on the drawing. With snowflakes replacing the twigs, you had turned into the living recreation of it. Arthur laughed when he noticed, and realized just how much he had loved you and continued to since that morning from a year ago. He bent towards you to put a small kiss on your forehead.
“Arthur it’s… It’s beautiful.” You find it difficult to find another word, speechless once again.
You also had no idea of how talented at drawing nor attracted to you he was. This day definitely was full of surprises. You chuckled fondly before taking a last look at your portrait and giving it back to your lover. But Arthur’s large palm wrapped around your hand.
“No, please, keep it. This way, you’ll always remember how you look through my eyes.”
More tears threaten to escape your own, even though those were a direct extract from the immeasurable happiness you were experiencing.
“And... Now that I don’t have to hide myself while sketching ya, I’m going to draw lots of new ones.”

The interaction between Style & his dad was A+.
Style's dad called him out! No wonder he had so much time to chase Fadel in the past.
Tumblr media
Style was giving garage chic and rocking it. Can't wear a crop top in the garage, but that doesn't mean he has to wear both straps.
Tumblr media
His dad called him out AGAIN. He knows his son. I also love that this reinforces that Style really is car crazy. The bet makes sense.
Tumblr media
But Style doesn't want a new car. He's got Fadel AND Kant's car.
Tumblr media
And Dad's like us. He wants what we want.

My Darling Dove
Paring : Bridget x VK! reader
Genre : Fluff/comfort
Fandom : Descendants: The Rise of Red
promot : being a VK isn't easy, nor is being related to Hook, especially when a group of VK'S who think their tough shit starts making trouble towards yourself beloved girlfriend, who just so happens to be the sweetest girl this school has met.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
''My dove, I...'' Your voice trailed off as your pink haired sweetheart came into view. Green paint colouring her clothes and face. And the smell was horrible. The paint smelt old and crusted, and the paint itself looked even worse, it looked like a old worn out faded colour of green
You sighed inwardly, you knew how humiliating it was for Bridget, yet she always managed to pull through and forgive.
It was one of the reasons you were so drawn to her, she was sweet, too sweet for her own good but you'd make sure she knew when to stop being so nice to everyone.
''Uliana...I tried, again, today with the cookies but...'' Bridget muttered, attempting to smile but it did little to conceal how she truly felt, and your heart ached for her. You'd already told Uliana there was no need to be so harshly rude towards her.
''Come now, dove, let's get you cleaned up and you can tell me all about it later on, yes?'' You felt guilty, guilty because you'd tried your best in the most subtle way possible. But your effects never seemed to work. No matter how little or subtle they were.
''Oh, no, honey, it's okay. Really I'm fine, it's just a little paint...she'll come around, eventually.'' You hummed dryily and shook your head, taking her hand in yours and lifting in gesture as if you were helping her climb stairs.
''You'know, you don't have to do..this, right? I'm a princess, I can do it myself.'' Bridget giggled softly, a slow but warm crimson blush coaxing her cheeks as she smiled at you.
You brushed off her concerns with a wave of your hand and grinned. ''Please, I'm the sister of Hook, my dove. Everything we hooks do is to charm and impress our lovers.''
Bridget laughed, a sound like tinkling bells that always made your heart feel lighter, even in moments like these. But behind her laughter, you could still sense the lingering hurt, the weight of the day pressing down on her delicate shoulders.
You led her to the washroom, where a basin of warm water awaited. Gently, you dipped a cloth into the water and began wiping away the remnants of the day—the streaks of green paint that marred her soft skin, the smudges that stained her clothes.
The task was tender, almost reverent, as you worked in silence, the unspoken understanding between you two growing stronger with each careful stroke.
Bridget watched you with wide, adoring eyes, the blush still staining her cheeks. ''You know,'' she murmured, ''I don't deserve you, Hook or not.''
You paused, looking into her eyes, the intensity of your feelings threatening to spill over. ''Do not say such nonsense, Bridget. You are worth more than you realize. And you do deserve me, just as much as I deserve you.''
She bit her lip, her gaze dropping to the floor. ''But I always seem to mess things up… Uliana, the others… I'm not sure I fit in.''
You set the cloth down and cupped her face, forcing her to meet your eyes. ''Bridget, My Darling girl, listen to me. You are perfect just the way you are. The others, they may not see it, but I do. You are kind, patient, and forgiving—things that are worth more than any skill or talent. And if anyone fails to see that, then it is their loss, not yours.''
A tear escaped her eye, trailing down her cheek, and you caught it with your thumb. ''But… I want them to like me, too. I want to be someone they can rely on, not just a burden.''
You sighed, your heart aching for her. ''Oh, my dove, You are not a burden, Bridget. You're a blessing. And if they can't see that, then they are the ones who need to change, not you.''
She nodded slowly, her resolve hardening even as a vulnerability shone in her eyes. ''Maybe… maybe you're right.''
You smiled softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. ''I know I am. Now, let's finish getting you cleaned up, and then we'll use that cook book of yours to make something deliciously sweet, Hm?''
Bridget's smile returned, more genuine this time, as she leaned into your touch. ''Okay, Honey. Thank you.''
As you finished cleaning her up, you both sat down on the small couch in the corner of the room, the day's weight slowly lifting. You knew this wouldn't be the last time Bridget faced such trials from Uliana, but as long as you were by her side, you'd make sure no one hurt her again.

A still frame from the animatic I'm working on. The japanese text is just a lyric from the song~ 😺
#krosmoz#wakfu#dofus#joris jurgen#''how much layers of symbolism can i cram into an image that appears for 3 seconds'' challenge accomplished successfully#myart#1. the tarot used are self-explanatory. the tower tarot's design is lifted directly from aux tresors de kerubim (im insane)#the reversed empress has hearts and spades (kerubum and atcham) as well as planet symbols. (mercury fits joris as a character;#saturn is the capricorn planet and Joris's canonical zodiac sign is capricorn. also saturn fits him too.)#the reversed star tarot also has the capricorn constellation on it. because i am insane.#the red roadmap/line on the background leads from stars to the moon.#and stars are a common thing to see in aux tresors.#the moon has been used as symbolism for immortality and loneliness both in my works; krosmoz; and real life.#so stars -> moon (and the tarot in between) are kinda a summary of his life. but with the way that it both starts and ends in space there i#a feeling that his life is marked by loneliness/immortality from the start#so yeah this is me being insane about aux tresors again. my most favorite show for 7yo children and Wakfu's better more well written cousin#anyway the animatic is 49-51% done.#ok i will also elaborate onthe tarot: the reversed star is his loss of faith in humanity. the tower is every bad thing that has happened#to him and made him both grow survive and Get More Jaded and Doom-pilled.#and the reversed empress is about his insecurities and living with his dad and uncle in a weird and unhealthy codeoendency for 600 years#also his mania of contr (but also need to be controlled and comforted by his dad and uncle. because he never really grew up.)#joris in waven era is VERY reversed empress with his warcrimes as the ruler of bonta. but even before then he's very reversed empress.#*control. man lotsa typos...

First of many
So much had happened. Nasiens had found her biological family, she found out about herself, she almost died... but now her hero was with her again.
When the battle was decided, a few words were exchanged and someone gave Percival a cloak so he could cover up. He hadn't even realized he was naked. He apologized, though it was clear he didn't see the issue.
After a while, her new family (she had to present them to Ordo as soon as she could!) left her alone with him, sharing knowing smiles.
Nasiens couldn't stop looking at him.
Percival... She smiled.
"So you are a fairy now? That's so cool!" Percival's voice was so soothing to her. How had she missed his smile!
"Yes... I'm not used to flying, though..."
"But now we can fly together!" Percy said, laughing. He grabbed her hands and gently lifted them up. Nasiens was shocked but soon started smiling again. A little spin in the air, and she was laughing along with him.
"I just can't get used to the height..." she admitted looking down, feeling cold sweat in her forehead. It had been fine in the battle, but now... She looked up at Percival, thinking how silly she was being. Something gleamed in his eyes.
He threw her one of his winning smiles and she felt her heart stop.
"Well, that's easy! Just keep looking at me!" His face was too close to hers, but then again, he had never been good at respecting people's personal space.
And Nasiens couldn't think of anything better to look at than his eyes. He always managed to calm her down. She could do anything as long as he's with her.
"See? You can fly really high if you want!" Like a spell being broken, she looked down. She almost let out a scream. They were so high up she could barely see the ground!
Her arms moved on their own, hugging Percival. She hid her face in the crook of his neck, trembling.
Percival was shocked. Not because of the hug, he loved Nasiens' hugs, as different as this one felt. However, she felt like dead weight. Had she stopped flying?! Of course she wasn't in any real danger as long as he was there to hold her, but...!
"Nasiens?!" He could hear her mumbling nonono again and again, "I'm sorry! I thought...! Are you ok?" He was so worried about her and Nasiens was still trembling, but she managed to answer,
"Ye-yeah..." she looked up. She was again at a loss for words. She knew Percival was still Percival inside, but he was really big now, and tall, and... she could feel her face aflame. "Yeah, I'm... I'm good. I was shocked, I guess..." she couldn't look him in the eyes anymore.
Percy was silent for while before he spoke again.
"You really feel different now, uh..." Nasiens eyes widened at his comment.
"Wh-what do you mean? Is it bad?" Percival's silence made her a little nervous. He wasn't looking at her anymore. She forgot to ask again though, since they landed in the hollow part of a cave, up in a mountain, and the sight amazed her.
"It's beautiful..." she said. Percy agreed, but he wasn't looking outside. His eyes were fixed on the pretty girl he was holding by the waist.
Screw pretty, he thought. Nasiens had always been beautiful, but now... It was like a whole other level. The way she held herself felt different. Also,
"You got boobs now!" he shouted, almost giving her a heart attack. She almost tripped, blushing like crazy.
"Ye... yeah..." she put her hand on her chest. They weren't even that noticeably, but... "the whole thing feels weird..."
"Bad weird?" he sounded genuinely curious.
"N... no, I don't think so. I never felt bad being called a boy, but now... I like this. Being a girl, I mean. It feels right, but I'm... not used to it yet. Not completely, at least. Is that weird?"
"I don't think so! Anyway, Nasiens is Nasiens, no matter what! You are amazing!" when he looked at her, he could see that gentle smile of hers that he loved so much.
Nasiens was so grateful. Of course Percival wasn't fazed. He was just Percival. He hadn't even questioned her change, something which she she was grateful for. She couldn't even imagine how she could start explain the whole thing to him.
She was thinking how much she loved this side of his and was so deep in her thoughts, she didn't realize when Percival got behind her.
"You gotten slimmer too, right? Right?" his poking sent shivers down her spine. What was his obsession with her back?!
Nasiens felt her face aflame again.
"Please, don't do that!" she almost screamed, taking a step back.
"Why? Can't I touch you?" he sounded so innocent, she almost felt bad. But when she looked up again she saw how serious he was. She felt taken back. He had never looked at her like that before, not like this.
How could she tell him that the only thing she wanted was for him to touch her all over... it was just so embarrassing to admit!
She felt her true feelings coming forward before she could stop herself.
"Well, if you a-!" a flashback made her stop. A painful memory crossed her mind and she felt silent.
Anghalhad.
She felt her blood boil.
"...you know what. I think it's best that you don't." She turned, not before giving him the iciest look he had ever seen. That kind of look was never directed at him! Percy got worried.
"N-Nasiens?! Are you angry at me? I hate it when I make you angry!" he ran to her. He grabbed her hand so she couldn't get further away from him. She flinched and stopped, but she didn't look at him. "I'm sorry, did I say something bad?"
"You got Anghalhad to touch, don't you?" she said, immediately regretting her words. It wasn't Percival fault, or Anghalhad's for that matter. Plus, she knew Percival didn't understand these kind of things! She barely could, after all.
"Yeah, I guess..." Percival's voice made her angrier and she felt so ashamed. She took her hand back, snapping at Percy.
"See?! Go to her for all I care!" she looked down, hiding her eyes as best as she could. She couldn't face him like this...
"Wha...?! No! I don't want to! I want to stay here with you! Nasiens!" he grabbed her by the shoulder, shaking her a little. He had to make her understand...!
Were those tears?
"Nasiens...? What's wrong?" she lifted her arm, trying to wipe her tears with her sleeve.
"I... I'm a horrible friend! I don't hate Anghalhad, I actually like her... but thinking about you two...!" she put her hands on her face, trying to control herself. "Who am I to say anything? You are free to do whatever you want...! But I hate it! I hate the thought of you two-!"
Percy hugged her so tightly she almost couldn't breathe. She felt his hand grabbing her hair, same way he had done early that day.
"P... Percival?"
"I won't touch anyone else!" he exclaimed, shocking her. "I don't really get it, but I thought of some else touching you and that made me angry, so I guess it's the same for you? Is that it?"
"Ye... yeah."
"Is it because you love me?" Nasiens felt trapped. She was about to protest when...
"Cause I love you too!" he said, his smile so bright it blinded her. He caught her so out of guard she almost fainted.
"Well," he continued, "I love all my friends... but with you... love falls short. Does that make sense? I want to hold you forever..." Percy said, snuggling to her. Looking down he saw her eyes, so full of hope and love, he couldn't help but smile. Nasiens smiled back.
"Y-yes, it makes sense. I... I feel the same way." Nasiens couldn't believe it. She confessed! She managed to do it and now...
"Good!" he grabbed her waist again, lifting her from the ground, "then it's settled!"
Nasiens felt tears forming again, this time from happiness. Things could be so easy with him sometimes... but then she remembered their little argument. She blushed again.
"A-about before... I don't mind, you know... but, you have to ask."
Percy was confused for a moment. Then it hit him.
"Really?!" he had pulled her down a little. His face was so close to hers...!
"Ye-yeah."
"Can I, then?" he asked. His lips were so close to hers, she felt her heart about to explode.
"Yes..." she tried to close the distance and...
"NASSIE! Percy! Dinner time! Come on, where-! Oh, there you are!" Tioreh shouted, appearing out of nowhere.
"...what are you two doing?" she asked, innocently.
It was a rare sight, if you asked her. Nassie with her face all red, pushing Percy away. Her hand was on Percy's face and he looked miserable, ignoring Tioreh and trying to get close to Nassie.
"But you said I could...!" he whined.
"QUIET, PLEASE!"
Tioreh had never seen Nassie so embarrassed. It was fun!
Later that night...
Nasiens couldn't believe it. They had almost...!
But the moment had been ruined.
She put her hands on her face, sighing. Maybe some other time... She was fixated in the fire next to the log she was sitting on, deep in thought.
"Nasiens! I was looking for you! Look!" Percival's voice took her out of her trance. She looked up to see him better, confused in what was she supposed to be looking at.
He placed a white flower on her hair.
"I knew it! It suits you!" he said, making her blush yet again. She gently touched the white flower with her fingers. "You look beautiful, you know!" Nasiens felt her blush deepen. She was going to get a fever from blushing so much...
"Thank you, Percival..." she smiled at him and he smiled back, love in his eyes. He sat down next to her and she rested her head on his shoulder, sighing.
"Man, that sucked, uh?" he suddenly said, looking down at her. "I really wanted to kiss you."
Nasiens was definitely getting a fever.
"Re-really? Honestly, I did too..."
Without much thought, Percy turned and grabbed her by the waist, surprising her. He flew them away from the dinner and the rest.
In the air, with the moon shining brightly, he looked at Nasiens. He smiled, closing the distance between them.
"Can I?" he whispered.
Nasiens laughed. He really took it to heart to ask first.
"Of course...!"
Their laughter filled the night. At least for tonight, everything was going to all right.

Hey! I love your Red x reader one shots and I have such a huge crush on Kylie rn.
I was wondering if you can do an imagine where fem!reader is going through something (you can make it up) and she’s not eating or sleeping and she thinks no one notices but Red does and she comforts reader?
You don’t need to if you aren’t comfortable w it tho!
♥️Red Hearts x Reader♥️
Tumblr media
Reader pronouns: She/her
Pairing: Red Hearts x Fem!Reader
Plot: Reader has been dealing with a lot and falling behind on many basic necessities like eating and sleeping. She hopes her girlfriend doesn't realize, but it gets to the point where it's impossible to avoid the conversation.
Word count: 2.1k
Extra: I want to put a CW for Eating disorders. I never use that term in the fic and the fic has nothing to do with weight or body issues, just depression. I wrote this from my own experiences so it's not like I'm writing about something I'm ignorant on. There was a lot of projection in this but I tried my best to keep it tame. Please don't read this if you're sensitive to depression or disorderly eating habits. 🫶 This is also a vulnerable thing for me to write about so please be kind.

Studying for things like quizzes and exams was never something that came very naturally to you. You always found yourself very distracted and never to stay on one topic at the same time. So you thought, maybe having someone to study with you could help keep you on track and actually get some work done.Unfortunately, you picked the wrong person to study with.
You felt that the obvious choice was your girlfriend, Red. But unsurprisingly, she's not the most efficient studier either. Really she only accepted your invite as an excuse to hangout with you, you could tell by the way she kept trying to start unrelated conversations, and the way she'd slouch and groan everytime she had to write something down instead of listen to you talk.
"Okay, we've been working for literal hours. Let's go get something to eat, I'm starving." She complained, leaning back in her chair and tilting her head back, "There's a new café down town not very far."
You close your notebook and sigh, “If you’re hungry just run down to the dorm kitchen and garb something.” You say, looking at your bored to death girlfriend.
She lifts her head and gives you an annoyed look, “Oh come on. Are you seriously not hungry? Let’s just go out. We haven’t gone out in forever." She groaned.
Red leaned closer to you, grabbing your hand as if trying to convince you that a date in the middle of your study session was a good idea.
How could you refuse that? The flirtatious smirk she gave you was almost enough to make your heart explode, you really couldn't say no, "Fine." You sigh with a small smile.
With a hop out of her chair, Red grins, "Great. And I hope you have money because I lost my wallet." She winked, clearly that was untrue.
You chuckle, "Hmm. Interesting you always lose your wallet right before we go out," you chuckle. You didn't actually mind paying for her, it was actually something you loved. You loved spending all your time and money on your wonderful girlfriend.
----
The two of you walk to this café that Red was talking about. You weren't really hungry at all. Actually, you haven't been very hungry in awhile. Your relationship with food had become a little weird recently.
Not for any reason someone might assume. It's not like you were trying to lose weight or anything, you just hadn't felt the means to eat. You never spoke about it and mostly often lied about when you ate so that you didn't worry your girlfriend, but it was getting harder to hide it because of the physical effects it was having on you.
The two of you sat across from each other at a little circle table. The café had a couple other people in there, mostly working on their laptops or reading. It was a cute café, very calming and sweet smelling.
"So, what're you feeling today? Coffee? Pastries? You liked those weird fruit pastry things last time, they might have something like that here," Red said, gazing at the menu that sat on the wall above the workers.
You pull out your own laptop and a notebook because you still planned on getting at least some work done while you were here, "Oh. No thanks. Get what you want, I'm not hungry." You open your laptop before pulling out your wallet and tossing it to Red.
Red caught the wallet before giving you a weird look. She leaned over and shut your laptop, forcing you to look her in the eyes, "I've been with you all day and you didn't even eat the cookies I brought. How are you not hungry?"
You just shrugged awkwardly, "I ate before you came over," you lie. You hated lying, especially to your girlfriend. It made you feel so guilty and sick. Or maybe you felt sick from your horrible eating habits.
"Bullshit." Red said plainly, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair.
"Excuse me?" You ask, a little astonished at how quick she was to accuse you of lying.
Red glares, "You've been weird recently. You've been insanely tired, skipping lunch while claiming you'll eat after school, everytime you stand up you get concerningly dizzy, what's up with you?" She asked. Obviously she was worried but her words came off as stern so that you had no room for lying to her.
You shift uncomfortably in your seat, looking away from her. "It's nothing, really, just order something. Don't worry about it." You attempt to brush it off but you have a feeling she wouldn't let it go so easily.
"You know, I'm not stupid, just admit you're having an issue and I can help. Let me help you." Red insisted, reaching over and grabbing your hands from across the table.
She was clearly worried and only wanted to help you, which is why you felt bad at your growing irritation of the subject, “Can’t you just leave it alone? I really don't feel like talking about it.” You pull your hands away and cross your arms.
Red resisted the urge to role her eyes at your refusal to talk, but she tried not to argue, “Just— just please tell me what’s wrong?” She tried making her voice sound sympathetic and you could tell she was really struggling. She was never very good with talking about feelings despite how much she cares.
"Just drop it. I don't want to talk about it so I won't. I don't have to tell you everything. it's not even important." You snap, before immediately going quiet. You didn't mean to get angry, really, you didn't. You weren't even angry at her. Just... Frustrated.
Red looked as if she wanted to argue back, you could see in her face that she was not happy, "Fine. Whatever."
The way she spoke that made your heart ache. You felt stupid for snapping like that when she was just trying to make sure you were okay.
----
The two of you pretty much sat in silence the rest of the time at the café before she decided to go back to her own dorm instead of finishing with the studying.
You still felt awful and could tell Red was still upset. But you just kissed her goodbye and went back to your dorm.
The whole encounter made you feel like abandoning your work and just sleeping for the rest of the day. You really were tired. You've been so tired all of the time.
So tired and depressed. All you do when you get to your dorm and sit there with your own filthy sadness. Thank goodness no one shares a dorm with you or they'd probably be annoyed by how much you drag yourself around and sulk.
Usually when at school you put a smile on and get all happy with everyone else but that's been especially hard recently. The only thing you can really ever feel like doing is sitting in bed and staring at the ceiling. Stare and let your head be flooded with the un-happy thoughts that plagued you.
You felt guilty for being so depressed. You had great friends, you went to a great school, and had an even greater girlfriend, how could you still be sad?
While you thought about all of this you started to drift off into sleep. It was still early in the day but you couldn't stop yourself from it.
----
You were suddenly awakened by the sound of a hard knock on your door. You sat up and got out of bed, unaware of what time of day it even was. It felt like your room was spinning.
Your head was light, your vision was blurry, your stomach felt like it was rising to your throat and you were about to puke it up but couldn't.
You stumbled towards the door and leaned on it for a moment to try and regain yourself but you couldn't. There was another knock on the door and the vibration of it ran through you, making you feel even sicker.
Finally you opened the door to see Red. Well, kind of see her, your vision kept focusing and unfocusing, but it was enough to recognize her.
Before she could even say anything, you felt your entire body about to collapse. Red was quick to swoop in and catch you before you hit the ground.
"Oh my gosh are you okay? What happened?" She started asking you a hundred questions at once but you could hardly bring yourself to answer.
Clearly she was panicking but once she realized all you could do was mumble out responses, she picked you up, holding you bridal style and carrying you over to your bed. She laid you down and gave you a moment to regain yourself.
"Wait, here, I might have something that can help." She said, digging through her bag and pulling out a water bottle and bag of chips.
It was hard to think at the moment or even say anything but you could feel the guilt rushing back to you. Feeling like you were a horrible girlfriend for making the person you care about most worry so much.
She opened the bag of chips and water bottle, shoving them in your hands. Just the idea of eating thing made you want to vomit but you had a feeling there was no getting out of this.
So you took small bites and small sips of water. Your hands were shaking as you held them, feeling like everything weighed ten pounds heavier.
After what took a little too long, you finished the bag of chips and the whole water bottle. You could feel yourself feeling a little better, obviously it didn't immediately fix all of your problems, but just having something in your body made you feel at least functional enough to stand up and have a conversation.
But when you tried standing, Red just shoved you back onto the bed.
"You need to stay there and rest." She demanded, "Now... Can you please tell me what's wrong?" This time her voice was filled with genuine worry and sympathy.
You look down at your hands, unable to look her in the eyes. You suddenly felt your own eyes fill with tears, as if it was all about to coming pouring out at once, "I just... I dunno... I haven't been doing well recently..." You start off, choking on your words a little bit.
"I haven't been able to sleep or eat well, I haven't been able to get out of bed other than for school, and everything is just so heavy," you say, trying your hardest to prevent the tears from spilling out.
Red gives you a worried look. She decides to carefully get in the bed with you, sitting next to you and wrapping her arms around you, "Why didn't you ever say anything?"
"Because I didn't want to bother you." You reply, slowly resting your head on her shoulder.
"Bother me?" She says, looking almost confused, "Your issues aren't bothersome. I just want to make sure you're okay and I want to help you every way I can."
"I know..." You mutter, still feeling guilty. "I'm sorry."
"Hey! You don't have to apologize." She says, narrowing her eyes, "It's not your fault you feel this way. But I am here to help you. I can help if you'll let me."
You finally look her in the eyes, gently grabbing her hand, "Thank you."
"Of course. I always love to help my beautiful girlfriend. I'll help you stay on top of your sleeping schedule, I'll force your to eat breakfast and lunch at school, I'll come over for dinner..." she smiles, leaning over and placing a soft kiss on your lips.
You can't help but smile as she kisses you, once she tries to pull away you bring her back for just a second longer in the kiss. Then you finally let go, "I'm serious. Thank you. You're so... Amazing. I love you so much... I'm sorry it's hard for me to talk about my problems. I trust you... I just hate seeing you worry."
Red rubs your shoulder in comfort, "Me worrying just means I care. And you're lucky. I don't care about very many people," she teasingly nudges you, "But, I'm you're girlfriend. It's kind of my job to make sure you're okay. It's the least I can do after all of the amazing things you've done for me." She smiles, "I love you too..."
The sweet words made your heart melt. Your face heated up slightly at the affection. Sometimes it was hard for Red to be affectionate but you could tell she loved it, so this really was a treat.
You couldn't believe you had such a perfect girlfriend. The very thought of her made you feel a little better no matter what. You really were lucky to have someone like her.

𝐆𝐥𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓.   In a timeline, Red lets herself learn to be loved and love inturn. And in another, she doesn’t. In both, she loses her noble Chole. But in this one, just this one, maybe she can save her noble Chole.
Chole is everything Red is not, she’s kind, sweet, optimistic, noble, and loving.
Red doesn’t know how to love, nor does she know what defines love.
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What is love?
What defines love? Red couldn’t possibly know that, of course she couldn’t– she was never treated with gentle care or love.
It was always ‘do this’ ‘don’t say that’ ‘dress respectively’ and ‘Oh, Red, didn't I tell you to put something presentable on’.
When Red looked at her mother she saw the cold and judgmental eyes that always seemed to find something to criticise her about.
Red would often wonder what love felt like, what real love felt like. What it would feel like to learn how to love and how to love in return.
Of course, Red knew her mother loved her, even if she didn’t show it or criticised her about her attire.
Red knew. But that didn’t help with the fact that she’d never felt it before, but Red saw, she observed, and she wondered, ‘is that really what love feels like?’
She wanted to fall in love, to experience the feeling of falling for someone and giving them her all. But her mother was cold and ruthless.
‘’Love ain’t it.’’ she would say, dismissing Red with a wave her hand, and that would often leave her feeling trapped, caged in a world she didn’t ask for.
But Chole was different, she seemed to know all about love, and Red envied her for it. She wanted to know all about love too, she wanted to understand love too, she wanted to learn how to love too.
Just like Chole was taught.
And so, one day as Chole ranted on and on about a guy she’d met in one of the classes in their dorm room. Red worked up the courage to say the one thing that always felt so unreal to her.
‘’And He smiled at me, Red! And oh my gosh was his smile so–’’
‘’What is love?’’ Chole paused at the suddenness of the question that was thrusted upon,  Chole was caught off guard for a moment as she poured the question.
She had more than one answer to, love was many things should teach Red.
‘’What do you mean?’’
‘’I mean, like, you know, falling in love, learning to be loved and love return…’’ Red trailed off, throwing the pocket watch in the air with a bored look on her face.
Chole stared at Red, her initial surprise fading into a thoughtful expression. The lightheartedness of their previous conversation dissolved into something deeper, more profound. Red's question wasn't just a passing curiosity; it was a yearning, a deep and unspoken need that had finally surfaced.
Chole sat up straighter, her fingers playing with the edge of her blanket as she considered how to answer. Red had always been a mystery to her—aloof, guarded, and cynical in ways Chole couldn't fully understand
. But this was the first time Red had asked something so vulnerable, so honest. It was as if Red was offering a glimpse into a part of herself that Chole had never seen before.
‘’Love…’’ Chole began slowly, choosing her words with care. ‘’Love is... complicated. It's not just one thing, you know? It's a feeling, sure, but it's also an action. It's... being there for someone, even when it's hard. It's wanting the best for them, even if it means you don't get what you want. It's... it's letting someone in, even when you're scared they'll see the parts of you that aren't so perfect.’’
Red caught the pocket watch with a deft hand, her eyes narrowing slightly as she listened. She still seemed unconvinced, skeptical even. Chole took a breath and continued.
‘’When you're in love, it’s like... you’re connected to someone in a way that goes beyond just liking them or thinking they’re attractive. It’s like... like they become a part of you, in a way. And you start to see the world through their eyes. Their happiness becomes your happiness. Their pain... well, that hurts you too. But it’s worth it, because love makes you feel alive, makes everything brighter, warmer.’’
Red looked away, her gaze distant as if she were trying to process Chole’s words.
She didn't seem entirely satisfied, but Chole could see she was thinking, really thinking, about what she'd said.
‘’But what if... you don’t know how to love? What if you’re... too broken, too messed up to be loved?’’ Red's voice was barely above a whisper, but the vulnerability in it was unmistakable.
Chole's heart ached for her friend. She reached out and placed a hand on Red's arm, gently squeezing. ‘’You’re not too broken, Red. No one is. Love isn’t about being perfect; it’s about finding someone who sees your flaws and still wants to be with you. Someone who loves you because of those flaws, not in spite of them. It’s okay to be scared, but you have to let yourself feel it, to take the risk. That’s the only way you’ll ever really know.’’
Red was silent, her expression unreadable as she absorbed Chole's words. Chole wasn’t sure if she’d gotten through to her, but she knew that this was a start.
A small crack in the wall that Red had built around herself, but a crack nonetheless.
‘’Maybe... maybe one day,’’ Red murmured, her voice tinged with uncertainty. ‘’Maybe one day, I’ll figure it out.’’
Chole smiled softly, a mixture of hope and sadness in her eyes. ‘’You will, Red. I believe in you.’’
Red gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, but Chole saw it. And for the first time, she felt like there was a chance—just a small one—that Red might one day learn to let herself be loved. To love in return.
As their conversation drifted back to lighter topics, Red felt the weight of the question still lingering in her mind.
What is love?
She didn’t have the answer yet, but maybe, with Chole by her side, she could start to figure it out.
