Bruce, instead of picking up a fursuit, goes to work with the government to solve crimes. He genuinely wants to help people, even though he often meets resistance or has some shitty ass coworkers. There's a ton of corruption, bribes, and red tape that stands in his way.

Still, Bruce thought he was doing good.

In his time, he often chased after Dick, Jason, and Cass. Tim and Barbara sometimes passed information to Bruce, which the man was willing to leave them alone for. It was a tentative alliance.

After a really shitty mission, one where the government covered for some horrific bastards that killed off children, Bruce quit his job. He couldn't stand working for people or an organization that would do that.

After quitting, he falls into drinking to cope. He builds up the Brucie persona by trying to forget what he's seen. No one in Gotham knew he was CIA. He just left for "WE work" a lot.

Eventually, someone hires him, Dick, Barbara, and Jason to work a case for him. Due to the appealing nature of fucking over the US government, Bruce agrees.

They finish the mission, and all realize that their little team can do good for others, even if they have to lie, steal, and cheat to do it. It becomes a full-time gig for everyone.

After a while, they run into a mission they can't do themselves. They need Cass's expertise, but she's notoriously difficult to get a hold of.

Tim, little the stalker he is, reaches out to Bruce and asks to meet. Tim has been watching their proceedings and wants to help them. He agrees to get Cass to meet up with them, but he states he can't promise anything besides that.

Cass meets them and determines they want to do good. Most of her thefts have been more of a Robin Hood type of deal, so she's actually estatic to work with a team that she can use her skills for good with. It goes well.

After a few missions, Tim puts them in contact with Steph. She wants to be a part of something like that and is already decent friends with Cass (through their connection with Tim).

Damian pops up by himself. He originally is supposed to kill the team, but he learns that Bruce is his father. He sticks around after that to see why Bruce does what he does.

Tim introduces them to Duke.

Quick note: Bruce worked as a CIA agent. In this AU, he's not happy with death/murder, but he's not exactly against it either. He won't allow it on missions, but he's not going to give shit to his team about it. With the power of AU, let's say Bruce rarely killed as a CIA agent. He tried all avenues he could beforehand (which is what makes Dick, Babs, Tim, Jason, and Cass initially respect Bruce).

They’re still called Team Red because well the El Diablo is red and Stan wears red HAHA also their home base in Gravity Falls is like a secluded area. Basically like the Mystery Shack but with a few changes?

Alex bugged his way into Stan’s alliance when Stan was seeking quick refuge with Shermie’s family. It was super funny because Stan was busy plotting out his plans to thwart VILE and also not get caught by them in the middle of the night when Alex just questioned him about it.

Basically Alex: Heya uncle that looks hard, need any help?

And the next thing Stan knew he had a nephew on his side with impressive hacking skills to help him with his tasks. In return he teaches Alex some of his minor skills (how to steal and not get caught HELPP)

With Shermie and the rest of the fam not knowing I like to imagine family dinner with Shermie inviting Ford and it’s just Ford ranting about catching the super thief while Alex is off to the side like 👀.

Carla McCorkle and Stan ran into each other shortly after Stan left Shermie’s place and they had a talk and reconciled. After that they discussed further and Carla stubbornly inputted herself into Stan’s plans cause she was curious what he was planning to do. Also since she was concerned over what she’s observed from him when they were having a chat. As someone who had known Stan from his teen years, she’s someone who can understand him well and they became super close friends afterwards! She also smacks sense into him when needed!

‘Boyish’ Dan had been busy looking for a job and he came across Stan and Carla while they were stopping by Gravity Falls. He’s still young in this, maybe a teen? So Stan wasn’t so sure about having him on their team but since Alex was already in it he figured it wouldn’t be that bad. Dan impressed them all with his strength and skills to build stuff and after a whole discussion and a week of staying at Gravity Falls, the team decided to set up base there. Dan helped build their small shack (before it expands over time) and Stan was fine in letting him in the group. As normal Corduroy traits, Dan becomes a loyal and awesome asset to the team.

I noticed in the teaser that Chembaron Smeech and some of his Scraphackers are on guard in front of a large bust of a woman.

I'm pretty certain this means they're in Chembaron Margot's territory for the Vyx.

The large bust seems to have been designed in Chembaron Margot's likeness. Same side bangs, there's a clip on the bridge of the bush's nose like Margot's, and if you look at it's forehead you'll notice four raised implants in likeness to Margot's forehead tattoos.

The Vyx as a gang deal in sex work and behind the bust is a large building surrounded by other buildings with heart-shapped windows and signs. The red in her collar is probably the door to the Vyx's HQ.

Smeech and the Scrap Hackers must have come to the Vyx territory to form an alliance (a parlay for power) now that Silco's gone. They seem pretty wary of her place though.

(Ok, I want to talk about this scene... If you're unfamiliar with this, these six (silver guy there doesn't count in the official roster) are the kings of their small nations on a distant planet. Red/Gira is a boy who had to grow up fast, who stole the symbols of authority from a wicked king who was willing to let millions die in a prophesied war. Blue/Yanma is the president of a high-tech nation, who built the mechs they use, and who has always had to hold his head high so his people wouldn't see him cry.

Yellow/Himeno is the Queen of a land dedicated to beauty and medicine. She has encouraged people to "be a little selfish" when reaching for their own dreams.

Purple/Rita is the Supreme Justice of the land of Gokkan, where all law on the planet comes from. Up until this point, they have worn a high collar around their face to keep up the image of impartiality, but here Rita wears the collar down so their enemy can see their face.

Black/Kaguragi is the leader of the breadbasket of the world. He plays five-dimensional chess, forges dangerous alliances and works behind the scenes to ensure the best possible scenario.

White/Jeramie is the half-blooded king of the Bugnarok people from beneath the planet's surface, the enemy faction in the first half of the series. In the second half of the series, Red meets with Dugded Djardin, a cosmic being who makes different races on planets go to war because it amuses him. Dugded is basically god, and every time the Kingohgers thought they had him beat, he had an another ace up his sleeve.

There's been a plan in play for years to defeat Dugded, but it requires full cooperation by the royals and as Yanma put it an episode before "A million small miracles all lined up." In that next to last episode, the kings tried to enact a full evacuation plan, sending their people into space. However, Silver/Racules and the retainers of the Kings realized that if they did, they'd just be perpetuating the cycle. Dugded would find them again and make them his playthings once more. So instead of fleeing, the WHOLE POPULATION of the world returned to aid their kings in the final battle. Those who could fight, did. Those who couldn't fight, tended to their Kings' wounds. During this time, the Kings received aid from an unlikely place. The land of the dead opened its gates and offered up: 1) their parents, 2) one of the king's warriors who had long ago been killed and replaced by a shapeshifter, 3)the enemy general from the first half of the series and 4) The Very First King of the World. The civilians, soldiers and fallen ones bought the Kings the time they needed to rest and recuperate after having asteroids literally dropped on their heads. They are patched up, fed, and have gained a second wind and smiling. And Dugded can't understand why they're smiling and gives them the best straight line ever. "Just who the hell do you think you are?" Yanma steps up first, declaring that he's not going to bow to some false god. He will hold his head high and lead his people into the future, a future where mankind never needs fear the wrath of the gods. He leads his team of hackers, codecrackers and inventors back to the battle, making sure that his most loyal retainer can stand up. Himeno is next. She identifies herself as the "Unwilting Flower" and tells Dugded that her path is before her and she will stride down it, and makes it clear that he is just a speedbump on that path. Kaguragi's speech says "These people are my life. I will cross through any depth of mud and dirty my hands for their sake." And in this case, fighting Dugded, he doesn't just intend to dirty his hand, he intends to bloody them. Rita's speech mirrors one they made earlier in the series "The law is spear that can pierce the heart of a king, and a shield that can protect the populace. Even in the face of death and destruction, the law remains resolute, and I am the Law." Rita is leading an army of justices and criminals alike, because they all deserve the chance to live free of Dugded's influence. Jeramie says "I am the king of man, of Bugnarok and all that lies between. I am the great storyteller, and my story will continue, but yours will come to an end." And Gira demands for a god to "tremble in your boots for you face the true might of Shuggodam. We will take this world that you have been toying with and conquer it for ourselves." What follows this scene is almost twenty minutes of fighting where everyone gets a chance to shine, and then the million little miracles happen when the people grant their souls in service to their kings. This allows the Kingohger to fight Dugded on a cosmic scale, in a brawl that ends with Dugded being punched out of the universe, and the Kingohgers breaking his soul into six pieces with their swords. This is by far one of the best final henshin scenes in Super Sentai history because the buildup to this moment was phenomenal.)

She is a cowgirl

More specifically, her mom was a rodeo queen and the daughter of a rancher out in the middle of nowhere (she was actually born in Nothing, Arizona, which is sometimes erroneously called The Middle of Nowhere). Her dad was an electrical engineer and amateur hacker who passed his skills down to Jesse. When she started showing early signs of biotics (a shuttle crash near the family farm when her mom was pregnant exposed her to Eezo), her parents moved even further away from the city to protect her from the possibility of being hustled off to someplace like Jump Zero.

At about 9 years old, they went on a trip to the city. Her parents sat her on a bench for a moment while they went to rent a vehicle. What happened next is unclear, but there was a shuttle crash at the spaceport. No bodies were ever recovered. Still afraid of being taken by some nebulous government agency, Jesse slipped away into the streets and stayed there until she was 17. She took the fall for her girlfriend (also in the Reds) and chose to be sent to an Alliance school until she was old enough to formally enlist.

She played Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere" in the Mako so many times that Garrus had to look up the lyrics (pure nonsense) to figure out what the fuck the song was talking about

She also roped the pyjak to catch it without hurting it on that one planet in the first game with all the goddamn pyjaks

I created her because I wanted to play with Mass Effect's depiction of human culture as homogenous in the era that the games take place. I got to thinking about all the subcultures that exist in the world now, and how they might look/exist in this version of the future. There might be a global human Alliance, but I imagine that all of the rich (messy, wonderful, contradictory) cultural details that exist now would still exist in that future, too. I wanted her to have a more concrete attachment to earth than "orphaned, was in a gang." You know, so it would hurt more to come home in the third game.

In this case, her background is largely formed by Hispanic rodeo culture near where I live. Extremely fun time, highly recommend reading more about it/visiting a rodeo if that's an option for you.

Also---and I know this is apropos of nothing---I take exception to femshep not getting to wear the cool leather jacket that m!shep wears, so that is part of her trademark style.

the main seven:

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kim Belcrest she/her age- 16 appearance- blonde hair, medium skin, freckles, dark brown eyes, Korean-American features, slim build, about 5'4" (this is a fantasy world but she'd be mixed Korean-American in the real world)

🎀 Lizzie is a girl who loves autumn, baking, sweet treats, singing, playing guitar, reading, writing, adventures, and animals. she grew up in a village on the planet Vale in the kingdom/territory of Blue with her parents and older sister. she's fierce yet soft, and her character grows a lot throughout the series. when her village is raided and she stumbles into the world of a boy not much unlike her-- yet so so different-- everything changes.

Gale Jameson Lindsey he/him age- 17 appearance- dark brown hair, medium skin, the most stunning aquamarine/teal eyes, muscular but not huge, 6'3", slightly pointed ears (his species is a fantastical one called the Khelux, he's part-human part-Khelux so he doesn't have all of the features, but he does have slightly pointed eras, brilliantly colored eyes, and an impressive height/build)

🌊 Gale has water magic, an insane amount of trauma (seriously someone give this poor boy a hug) a love for literature, and staying inside, away from people. he grew up under the care of Everest Rivera, a former Alliance soldier, from the time he was six. Gale lived a secluded life in a wooded cabin with Everest, not venturing out much. he has a complicated relationship with his caretaker/father figure, and the outside world in general. he is very slow to trust and let his guard down, and seems very serious/stoic, but on the inside, he's just a big softie who needs some love and friends. Gale's idea of safety is turned upside down when a timid girl with no where else to go crashes into his life, and all of the sudden, he's on the run again...

Max Taylor Crest he/him age- 17 appearance- wavy brown hair that's gelled in the front and longer in the back, medium-tan skin, pretty boy sparkly hazel eyes, big arms™️, 6'2", has illusion magic, a pilot prodigy, panther tattoo on his bicep, bisexual loser, has a lot of family trauma lowkey because his parents are the rebel commanders, occasionally wears glasses, TATTOOED GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!

🖤 Max is cocky and always armed with a roguish grin, snarky comment, or flirtatious pick-up line. if he existed in our current modern world, he'd 100% be a fuckboy, but you know what? it's fine. he can be seen in his signature bomber jacket, strutting around Asterian academy like the iconic rebellion nepo-baby he is. nobody knows if they want to be him, or be with him. if you can look past his cocky and charming exterior, you'll find that this image he puts up for himself is just a facade, and that he's not the perfect academy student/rebel pilot/magic-wielder/sniper/brother/boyfriend/best friend almost everyone sees him as. he's fiercely loyal, and him and his girlfriend are the most iconic slay power couple ever. oh and he's a history nerd.

Soren Lorraine Sterling-Valdez she/her age- 18 appearance- long chocolate brown hair, light brown-golden skin, dark brown eyes, tall, lean build, 6'0" (we stan a tall girl!!) (this is a fantasy world but she'd be mixed American, Latina, and Indian in the real world)

🔭 Soren is incredibly smart. she's for the academic validation girlies who make it seem like they have their life together but everything's actually crumbling apart on the inside! (totally not projecting anyway-) she's the top of her class at the academy, and a hacker and spy for the Shadow Legion rebels. her boyfriend is Max Crest and they give off major percabeth energy. someone tell her it's okay to loosen up and stop putting insane expectations on herself! (also she's the type to dye her hair dark red during a mental breakdown)

Phoenix Chase Darrow he/him age- 16 appearance- golden blonde hair with a bit of a wave to it, medium-fair skin that tans in the summer, smattering of freckles, sky blue eyes, broad shouldered and tall, about 6'1"

☀️ Phoenix is a sweet little inventor boy who must be protected at all costs. before he came to Asterian Academy, he was a street fighter and thief living in the slums of the kingdom Arialle. the second oldest of six children (including himself), he was orphaned as a young child and had to learn to provide for himself and his siblings younger siblings once his older twin sister and brother were conscripted into the king's army. Phoenix is chilling now though. he has the best friends, almost blows up the potions classroom at Asterian twice a week, and gets to sit and make/fix things in his free time. his best friend is Max Crest, he may or may not be secretly in love with a girl named Faye, and has a platonic soulmate-bond with Halley, Max's kid sister. Phoenix is so character we love our sunshine golden retriever boy here.

Halley Shea Crest she/her age- 15 appearance- brown hair, fair skin, really pretty green eyes with the slightest hint of blue, 5'2", amazing sense of style, art hoe, golden retriever but as a cat if that makes any sense 💜💙💖
