The only "Lunar New Year" I know was Hijra New Year.

Considering there about 30 million Chinese citizens are Muslim and celebrate Hijra New Year, so by the same logic as those foreigners who trying to steal the festival had, "Lunar New Year" IS - still - Chinese New Year.

Yes, Chinese people don't worship Loong (that so call "Chinese dragon" in the past). They were more like YaoGuai (monsters) than ShenXian (Gods and immortals) in the mythologies. And both YaoGuai and ShenXian can be good or evil or somewhere in between - like mortal people can be.

And yes "中国" is not meaning "the country that at the center of the world" but "the country that in between the mountains and water".
