Work in Progress
Leliana had found him standing there before the sun slipped a ruddy finger over the horizon and across the waters, his eyes fixated northward as the thin lace of white grew thick and lumbering. The wind had been in his hair, dark wavy curls writhing as the salty air grasped and tugged, flowing like some veil of night speckled with the starlight of sea-spray. The tails of his long black coat danced lightly along the wooden panels of the ship, the sleeves drawn back past his elbows, revealing the white cotton shirt beneath, dabbled with gray from splashing water. A fine embroidery silver latticed across them, in swirling vines blossoming with forked leaves; trailing and lost as they reached the cuffed coat-arms. Standing there, frozen, with only that shifting wind grasping at his hair and his coat, one would think he was a statue with all the shades of living men.
A thought flitted through her mind, a soft voice she had nearly forgotten. One bounded in warmth and fitted for smiles. The tones dragged scrapping daggers deep across her chest, leaving a burning ache at her heart. He always seemed like a statue, didn’t he?
Yes, she admitted, the words a long drawl, wary to leave the iron chains confining her mind. Always wanted to draw the first watch. Amayian Trevelyan had already been an eager sort, in actions to say the least. In everything else, well…When it came to words, those seemed lost to him.
The gentle voice chimed, laughing. Remember when we tried to have him tell an Orlesian tale.
Something close to a twitch tickled the corner of her mouth. Oh, yes. She recalled that one. A poor attempt, in truth. He had all the story-telling ability of a boulder, all stone and truths. Zevran had not allowed him to live it down, even if the poor boy had no idea why the ending - And then he died - was a terrible conclusion. There was no fervor in those stories, even if she could tell that he was told the story faithfully - perhaps too faithfully for her taste, but it was an amusing one still. And he had been so quiet then. Shy was not quite the right word. Detached, withdrawn, even dour. But not surly. Unfriendly, but not grumpy or mean-spirited. Perhaps when I teased him a little about a jest that soared well over his head, but there was nothing angry in his voice. Only neat confusion. Always neat, that one.
Leliana was not sure which voices spoke, the Sister or the Nightingale. The tones mangled to one, one fond, the other edged close to hardness. But the memories stirred, quiet at first before rushing like a cliff-climbing wave cast by the sea. Violet and blue skies jeweled in stars; amber flames twirling with the sudden sputters of a racing song; a lanky boy with thick curls that touched the ends of his ears but grew as time went on, almost shaggy. But neatness, despite it all—neatness in his words, in his precise, measured actions, even for a boy of nineteen.  No, Amayian Trevelyan was never mean-spirited, even when warranted. He was not much of anything, to be true—neither happy or sad, angry or shamed. When Leliana dug her fingers deep enough, hints could be caught, dragged slowly out to be examined. Most had been a glimmer of a blush tracing the outlines of faint dark freckles on olive skin, a quietness in the voice when she leaned close and fixed the positioning of his fingers as she taught him how to strum a lyre properly, where to settle it in his grasp, how to hear the wrongness of a certain plucked note. And the blush was the greatest struggle of all not to tease him. Perhaps she had feared that if she did so, he would settle—never cast away—the lyre onto the ground, thank her for the lesson, and pull away from everything Leliana had tried so hard to bring out, and return to the icy greetings that marked his tone when he first joined Enasalin and Ralia and the others. But he never did. He simply took it, knowing or unknowing what the words meant in truth. As if it was to be expected, as if he could ascertain some points that he could use. The cold voice traced a dagger along her spine, slow, methodical. To use what? To serve. And when service did finally come, what did he do? He fled, like some coward. There was no mockingness in that tone from the Nightingale—from Leliana’s self—but merely the truth. Amayian had been so…eager…to follow whatever Enasalin or the others had him to do. But when Leliana had needed him, truly needed him, she saw for a moment hesitation, and soon after the confusion in that hesitation, in those guileless eyes that were as smooth and clear as glass in a mirror. And then he turned, and ran. Ran from Leliana. Ran from Enasalin.

How easy do your ocs startle?
Also, how dangerous IS startling them? Lol
It depends on which ones. Amayian/Amayia or Ralia aren’t that easily startled. Meanwhile, Alexandra would most likely jump and narrow her eyes a bit, with a bit of fire jumping near by, but would plan her revenge with a dark look to her eyes.

My OCs are complex individuals
Why are a lot of them in most of the other categories? Well, it’s a tier. Most would first shyly ask to smack in private, through consent, and than ask if they can do it randomly throughout the day without consent.
This is what we call character growth.

Esmyial: Remember what mom and dad used to stay.
Jac: Stab them if they try to rob you?
Ralia: Stab them if they dishonor you?
Esmyial: What??? No!
Asmarian: Obliviously he’s talking about if you can’t win a battle, stab them.
Saliasya: And always give each nug and mabari a kiss and hug before leaving the house!

As Divine, Leliana often has one of the kids on her lap, and spends most of the meetings on the sunburst throne cooing at baby Ralia.

12 and 20 for the dragon age questions!
Thank you for the ask!
12. Do your protagonists share the same opinions on blood magic?
This is a hard question. Kinda? Sort of. Most of my ocs, like Alexandra, Amayian, Aeralith, Jacqueline, Esmyial, etc. view blood magic not as an inherently evil thing. They see many benevolent actions which blood magic can be used for. Of course, there are some outliners, like Ralea Tabris, who fears blood magic as most people would. But generally speaking, most of my magical ocs had at one point used blood magic, and they - mostly - came out fine. Some like Alexandra or Jacqueline actively support it.
20. Who handles responsibility the best? And who handles it the worst?
I'll say Alexandra, Amayian, Jac, Esmyial, and Ralia handle responsibility the best out of my ocs. The worse would probably be Eliandi. He is just very poor at responsibility in general. The others though are quite good. Some, like Amayian, Esmyial, and Ralia, more than others. But Alexandra can be very strigent on responsibility too, so it depends.

What are Amayian and Leliana’s kids known for long after they pass away? What’s their legacy?
Tumblr deleted my drafts three different times because I accidentally clicked off the page. This was much longer. Hope you enjoy.
Jacqueline: She is remembered for her long reign, filled with a restoration project for the dwarves of Ozammar, which included a reconstruction of the dead Dwarvish language, a rising in fertility among dwarves, thanks to potions commissioned and crafted by the Queen. She repopulates her small kingdom, and regains Jader from her sister. She also encourages learning of different dialects, especially Elvish, within her growing kingdom, and encourages a growing sense of unity between the Avvar peoples. They, surprisingly, become one of her vocal supporters, though they call her the Great Thane of Thanes instead of Queen.
Esmyial: Esmyial’s reign was the first true test for a Trevelyan ruling over non-settled subjects. But due to him being raised at the capital of Ferelden, he is seen by the local populace and nobility as a trueborn Ferelden. (This is heighten over the fact that, theortically, King Esmyial was born in what was than Ferelden) His reign also saw a slow adoption of different aspects of Ostwickan, which began known as Esmyilor style. He also saw a strengthening of the country’s coffers through his reorganization of old lands and titles, his development of newly sprouting cities, schools, and libraries. His rule was known as the Reign of the Arts, as he sought to display Ferelden power through architecture and art as much as military arms.
Ralia: She is known by two names: The August Empress and The August Magister, the latter used by her naysayers as a reminder of her loose claim to the Orlesian Throne by conquest. The most religious, she is remembered favorably by the people of Thedas - many saw the War of Retribution as a defensive holy war against the assassination of King Amayian I, and many did not pity the decadent Valmont Dynasty under the rule of Louis Celemont Arno Philippe Valmont - as a woman of sternness, but just. Styling herself after her father, she sought to appear an atmosphere of all calm and even coldness to her subjects, though she would be beloved for her abolition of the feudal system in Orlais, reestablishment of the Dales, (which earned her the epithet the Liberator and the Restorer) under Orlesian suzerainty, and the enrichment of the country through domestic means.  Her textile mills allowed her industry to out shine that of rest of Thedas, and many became economically tied and dependent on Orlais’ prosperity, further increasing Ralia’s esteem. Though domestically in constant peace, save for the Valmont Rebellion of 9:63 - 9:71, which was more insurgancies than a fully fledged rebellion, the forigen policy was filled with glories. She conquered half of Neverra into her Empire, while keeping the remnants as her vassal state. She siege parts of Tevinter’s southern proviences during their war. She than later crafted, along with her siblings, a strong Ostwick-dominated Free Marches, after Kirkwall, Tantervale, and Starkhaven attacked the city. Many see her as the greatest of King Amayian and Divine Victoria’s children, by Ralia’s cold nature and destruction of Val Royeaux had lessen her stance in the recent years, with Jac taking the position as favored of the King’s children.
Saliasya: She took part only a little in poltiics, although she played the Game masterfully. Many see her has having a good, prosperous life, the greatest out of Amayian’s children if the most peaceful. She took care of her mother’s nug farm, and expanded it greatly to include many indangered animals. This sanctuary would be dubbed Val Saliasya - the city of Saliasya. There would be numerous little houses for the poor, and even a library that, for a time, was larger than even the great library in Nouvelle Aoube, the New Dawning, the capital of Empress Ralia. (It was later renamed Val Royeaux by Leliana I)
Isalian: He is considered the most unknown, and many forget that he was a child of Amayian I. He was illusive during his life, a great advisor and spymaster for his monarch siblings, holy mother, and royal-divine father. Some say that he could hear the whispers of men through their shadows. It is quite possible true.
Asmarian: He is overshadowed by the rest of his siblings, but many think on the young, smiling prince with fondness, even in the later ages. This is mainly due to his sudden and swift death alongside his father during the Assassination.

The most powerful mages in my headcanon.
-
I consider Amayian, Alexandra, Solas, and Flemeth to be on equal terms in magical prowress, though it takes a long time for Amayian and Alexandra to get to where they are. I don’t think Hawke the character, and my Hawke specifically, is overly powerful with magic. She’s average.

By the end of the Dragon Empress’ reign, Orlais remained the foremost power in Thedas, their main true rivals, Nevarra and Tevinter were humbled after the treaties imposed upon by the victorious Empress. Nevarra was turned into a vassal kingdom, a subservient of Orlais, with a major loss of land in the west and the port-city of Cumberland falling to Orlesian rule in the early years of the Empress, though were nominally considered independent. The Free Marchers were remain as a loose confederation, but the former great powers, Kirkwall and Starkhaven and Tantervale were substantially weakened with the rise of Ostwick under the Trevelyan-Rutherfords of Vasenarg, who were well supported by their southern relatives.
The Kingdoms of the Frostback and Ferelden grown weary of their revived imperial neighbor, but neither imposed the repeatedly expanding Orlesian Empire. Esmyial did declare that if his sister sought to annex the Free Marches, he would join in support of the Free Marchers, regardless of familial tides. This led to a far looser control over the breadbaskets of Thedas, but did not completely sway the Empress’ control over Nevarra.
The Confederation of the Dales were established by Ralia, in 9:82, with official equal rights being granted to the Elves by 9:85.

Good things Ralia does as Empress of Orlais
Abolishes the Alienages within Orlais, and pressures other nations and her vassal states to do the same.
Restores the Dales to the Elves, with substantial amounts of sovereignty, but they have to pay a monthly tax to Orlais and the Frostbacks as promises of safe keeping. Elves are permitted to practice their religion in peace
Permits the Wardens reestablishment of certain forts to be under the Orders control, but any funds must be asked and repaid to the Crown.
Establishes universities for mages and the commonfolk.
Repairs infrastructures and rebuilds a new and improved Imperial Highway for trade.

Note
Which of the children feel the most pressure to live up to their parents?
Jacqueline, Esmyial, and Ralia. Jacqueline, due to her father and mother being seen as a legit deities on earth; Esmyial since he is taking a throne with a longer history than his own father, whose former King was a Veteran and Hero of the Fifth Blight; and Ralia because she sees her parents are truly divine and not comparable to any mortal in history.
