Eau des Merveilles EdT — created by Ralf Schwieger and Nathalie Feisthauer, bottle design by Serge Mansau (2004). Main notes, according to Hermes.de: bitter orange, elemie, benzoin.

Woods, the almost liquorice salty-sweetness and incomparable warmth of amber. There’s a veil of fresh-zesty oranges too, as well as a hint of powdery notes, but everything is so delicately interwoven that trying to pull it apart by note seems disrespectful to the shimmering tapestry. The overall impression to me: dry, warm, woody. A scent best breathed in with one’s nose brushing a summer-warm throat. Sensual and subtle, skin-warm.

Praise and warning in one: this scent could be considered mature or masculine. To me, that's part of what makes it so alluring and luxurious, but it's also something to keep in mind.

I've also seen this being associated with colder weather, but I don't necessarily agree. To me, it evokes images of holidays in the South of France, of sun-warm skin and a light breeze in white cotton. The foaming sea, the languid yet somewhat restless desire that comes with great heat. Or, to say it with Dimdim on fragrantica (full review under the cut) -

For February, I'd try something interesting, and do perfume prompts based on their ingredients and some of the descriptions found online. I'm interested in fragrances and how they influence a person, and there are some of mine as well as a few I'd like to try out.
